Thanks Kismet! I''m thinking either martini studs with halo jackets, or drop earrings, also with a halo. I also like the idea of earring charms......Date: 4/2/2010 10:00:41 AM

Very pretty! What are you going to do with them?
I understand what you mean chictomato, and usually, I like my stones pretty clean. But in these, the small size combined with the color and flash makes the inclusions barely visible. Has Gene sent your rubellite yet? I''d love to see his/your pic! What shape and size?Date: 4/2/2010 11:23:19 AM

Honestly I am a little bothered by the inclusions. But I really like the color! I am expecting a Rubellite from Gene, hopefully it will look as good as yours! Looking forward to see it set!
This is a stunning pair, cellentani! Love the color and this shot is superb.Date: 4/2/2010 10:01:22 AM

These pics were difficult - I'm holding both in one hand, trying to orient the tables in the same direction, and only one of the tweezers is a locking pair. I was lucky to not send one of the stones flying across the room.
Thanks for adding all the technical stuff TL, and you''re right - clarity on type 3 gems is viewed a little differently than others. But I know it''s hard to look past inclusions that seem unforgivable in macro photos.Date: 4/2/2010 12:07:10 PM

Chictomato,
Rubellite often have inclusions, it''s just difficult to find them without any and if you do, be suspect, because it could be a nuked/heated tourmaline. That''s not to say that there are no nuked/heated tourmalines without inclusions, but it''s better to see them than not, especially ones with needles. I''m always suspect of hot pink tourmalines that are VS or better.
Cellentani,
The color really speaks volumes, so the inclusions don''t bother me at all. I think your photos are superb, crisp, clean and show off the color wonderfully.
