New to jade. Is this vintage pendant real?

I saw this pendant on ebay from a UK seller for not too much money. It was described as 9ct gold and real jade. I liked the colour so I bought it. The jade bead is only 5mm. It's not plastic, but other than that I can't say.

I asked the seller for more info because it's so smooth and see-through (you can see the drill hole very clearly inside) that I wondered if it was real jadeite. According to the seller, the pendant was bought by their parents when they lived in in Hong Kong between 1958 to 1964 and brought back to the UK.

Do you think it's genuine? Does that date pre-date jade treatments such as bleaching?

If you are in the USA, you may want to consider sending it to Mason Kay for an opinion. It looks like it was set in 9ct. That gives me pause.

Buying jade is risky. The color is pretty.

Unfortunately no, I'm in the UK, and it's not high value enough to justify inspection. I might just enjoy it for the colour. And maybe start going down the collecting jade rabbit hole...
