Hey All! I have been lurking here for a few months and FINALLY decided to introduce myself! We will be upgrading my ring (currently RB 1.54, E color, SI2) sometime before the end of this year. And I am just having a TERRIBLE time deciding on what I want my next stone to be! We are looking at something between 2.5-3 carats, BUT I LOVE the RBs, Princess, Radiant, even PEAR! ARRRGHH

Needless to say hubby is NOT impressed! Anyway, I look forward to chatting with each of you!

Hi and welcome to PS!!! It''s a tough choice, I''m sure. Have you tried on all the other shapes that you mentioned?? Does anything speak to you??

Kaleigh - I have tried them all on and love them all! They each have their own uniqueness. However, I do find that I tend to be drawn more to square shapes because of the setting I have in mind. I just worry because I always read that the most brilliant princess will not compare to the most brilliant round

I think I am just confused all around! I LOVE all types of settings as well antique, pave even solitaire....

Not to add to your confusion, but if you love the square shape but don''t want the (arguably) diminished brilliance of a princess, have you considered a Square H&A, or a square cushion, or the Jubilee?

If you are so all over the place in terms of taste I''d recommend you look around a lot, let yourself fall in love with a number of stones and settings (to the point of being convinced "yes, this is the ONE!"), and do this a number of times! Lol. It is amazing how many times you can be convinced you''ve found "it", only to see something else and then think that is "it"! That way what you finally end up with after all of your changes of mind will be something you''ll love forever, not just till the next shiny thing distracts you

What kind of setting is it ? Any chance to see it online ?

WOW thank you all for the warm welcome! I have a few settings that I saw in mind (on my computer at home) and I will ATTEMPT to post them once I get home. Hopefully I will figure out how to post them in here....I will try later on. I am going back and forth between buying my setting online or from a B&M. There is one that is supposed to be "the best", but when I called and asked them if they do custom settings, they said "Yes, however keep in mind that a custom setting will cost you a little more than our pre-made settings, we can set any stone for you in any one of our 1000s of pre-made settings. However, if you don''t find something you like we will definitely accomodate you". So we''ll see....she suggested I bring in the stone to see how I like it in different settings......TOO BAD I DON''T HAVE ONE! LOL

I will keep you all updated on my journey... I have a busy year ahead of me...we are also closing on our new home in July..(CAN''T WAIT UNTIL IT IS DONE!)

I tried to send the settings but I do not know how to attach them. I tried copying and pasting, as well as, the "inset image" feature however it wouldn''t work...HELP!

I attached my pics in the wrong post...will attach again! This is my fav one

Ok for some reasons I keep getting a "bad file name" error, however, I have posted the pictures in the Rocky (don''t remember the rest) room under the "is it ok to..." board. Just look for the only board I started on there LOL

Hey Blueroses!

Thanks for the welcome! And thanks so much for posting my pics for me! Any comments/suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! I truly like the first and second one, although my biggest concern with the first one is how high the stone is mounted
