KMOM: The martini glasses were our center pieces at our wedding last year. Now, we use them for decor or heck, even sometimes for martini''s. Yup, one of those is like 4 reg. ones. *hiccup* Very Yummy!

This is what I found today lounging under one of our ceiling fans! We caught him last year about this time. He was a feral kitty. I can''t imagine him outside in the 90 degree weather we''ve had for the past several weeks. He likes being cool.

Thanks Lorelei! Well, looking at him you''ld swear he was himalayan but Lord only knows what''s in his mix. He is the only kitty we''ve seen from this feral group that hasn''t had white somewhere on them. Most of the kitties come out as black and white "tuxedo" kitties. Here is a picture of his sister last winter on our deck. We tried to capture her, too, but she was just too wild.

What a shame - she''s a cutie too! That''s great that you tried to help her, some are just so distrustful of humans and are impossible to get near.
 
Just wanted to post some pics of my children here. We have two cats. The white one is named Smeagal (a little over 1yr now) and the calico is Feli (3 yrs or so? She was a stray).

The first couple are of Smegal ("my preciousss") when he was itty bitty.

Catmom, I can't believe that is a feral cat! Or her sister! They are amazing looking, glad you could tame at least one of them.

Sarita, what cuties! One of them (the one in the sink) reminds me of my sister's cat, Patches. She is like the devil cat, I've never seen a cat hiss at so many people at one time. BUt my sis truly gets the best of her. She's a one human cat.

Sarita, I just love that last shot! Smeagle looks like he is having a great time with Feli. Are they best buds now? I also love the shot of Feli in the sink. I miss having a sink sitter.

Thanks, Kmom. At least once a day my husband and I marvel that he was ever a feral cat. Can you imagine the burrs and stuff that would get in his fur!

Catmom: Your furry boy is sooooo cute! His sister is just as beautiful; it''s too bad you couldn''t coax her inside. It makes me sad when I see feral animals (dog or cat). People just do not think when they let their animals procreate indiscriminately and then dump them when they become too much to handle!

I would love to start a no kill animal shelter, I''m just afraid I would become swamped with critters because I would never be able to turn one away!

As suspected, Missy is slowly beginning to give in to the ''please love me'' actions of Rusty.

Now they are able to eat w/in the same proximity of one another. I have finally given Rusty her own bowl. Previously she''d wait on the side (behind Missy) as she ate, carefully ready to duck incase Missy should deliver a cat ''leave me alone'' blow. And now.........

I caught them TOGETHER on my DS''s bed!!!! Missy was seemingly relaxed, and Rusty is on her guard, but I think this is the beginning of her giving in (finally, it''s been nearly a month). I suspect I shall see Missy licking her clean (''aw, come here already, ya brat!'') any day now.

Catmom - They get along now, for the most part, but the dynamic is the same. Smeagal always wants to play and usually Feli does not (if it is with a ball or string, Feli will watch and want to join but afraid of drawing attention to Smeagal). She will get into it if provoked long enough, and then it''s really fun to watch! Back when Smeagal was very young (we kept them apart during the days until we got home from work for the first week) he just would not stop. Feli ignored his shenanigans until she couldn''t take it and sometimes she would like bodyslam him to the ground.

The first time I saw this I was so scared, but Smeagal didn''t even cry and was at it again momentarily. My boyfriend calls it the feline WWF.

Kamuela - Feli is not a psycho cat (I know one of those though!) but she is not a lover like Smeagal either. When she''s in the bathroom (often the sink) away from him while I am taking a bath or whatever, she is her most affectionate. It''s her haven.

That''s like Sammy on the desk - she only cuddles with us when we''re sitting at the computer. Katie has turned into a lap cat in her old age.

I love all the new kitties! It makes me want to get another cat soooo bad, but fiance would have a fit. Our cats are already out of control (i.e. seem to think areas other than the litter box are fine for peeing/pooping in
