I have mostly been a lurker on this board, but since I got so many wonderful ideas from all of you ladies, I wanted to share some of my wedding pics with you all. DH and I got married this past fall in my hometown of Washington DC. Our wedding day was just amazing, we could not have asked for anything more. The first picture is of our first dance.

Let''s try that again going the right way.

Our cake - it was so delicious - inside was alternating layers of vanilla with strawberry filling and choclate with raspberry filling. I can''t wait to eat the top layer on our 1-year anniversary.

Cutting the cake - after threatening DH with his life if he smashed cake in my face, I did it to him. We were having such a good time I couldn''t help myself!

Father-Daughter Dance. We danced to "I loved her first" by Heartland and my dad cried the whole time. We are very close and it was a very special moment for me.

Here''s one of our dancefloor. DH was skeptical about a black dance floor at first but in the end we really thought it made the room.

Here''s one of me and DH during the reception. We had 4 specialty cocktails (something old, new, borrowed, blue). I insisted on having one of each. This was the "blue martini" and it ended up all over the front of my dress! Luckily it was near the end of the night and I didn''t care I was having so much fun.

Here are our centerpieces - I loved my florist - he was awesome.

Last one for now - this one is of me and some of my close friends

I love this idea! Tell us about the other cocktails so I can copy!

Oh wow how beautiful! And my goodness your arms look great! I need to start lifting weights again so I''ll look like that on my big day

Gorgeous!

I too want to know about the cocktail idea ... what were the old, new and borrowed cocktails?

Thank you all for your sweet comments. My florist was Amaryllis and the owner''s name is Rick. I can''t say enough wonderful things about him. We had a pretty big budget for the wedding flowers, but we also used him for our engagement party with a really small budget and it turned out just as wonderfully. I have attached a picture of the centerpieces for our engagement party - we went with a winter wonderland theme because it was in December.

For the cocktails, we had:

Something Old - Classic Martini
Something New - Cosmopolitan
Something Borrowed - Champagne-o-rama (it''s a drink special that we always order at our favorite bar - Champange with a shot of rasperry vodka - so yummy!)
Something Blue - Blue Hawaii

We printed up cute little menu cards with that information and put them in silver frames on the bar. I will try to find a picture to share.

You are gorgeous! Your dress! OMG! Is that a Reem? It''s stunning.

Crown - Thanks so much for the lovely compliment - It''s actually a Kenneth Pool dress designed by Austin Scarlett from Project Runway. My bridesmaids and I actually got to meet him at the trunk show where I got my dress which was awesome because I love that show.

Let''s try that again going the right way.
GIRL...you looked FANTASTIC! Share with all us future brides your workout tips!!

Scarlet - thanks for the compliments, I have always been a petite person, but I really wanted to be in the best shape possible for my wedding, including having "bride arms" for my strapless dress. I actually did a 12 week program at my gym called "wedding ready" that consisted of 2-one hour workouts a week with a trainer. I was not much of a weightlifter before and I think it made a huge difference. I also did about 45 min of cardio, switching between biking, running and the elliptical 4-5 times a week. It was hard work, but I definitely thought it paid off. I am sure you could get the same results without the program, but I found it really helpful to have someone pushing me and it also made sure I got to the gym. I did not really lose weight in the process, but gained muscle and in the end went down about 1-2 sizes.
