Now I really did it :((

Hi NIRDI's!

@mrs-b I am so sorry you got food poisoning. That couldn't have been pleasant. Keeping you and Tim in my thoughts.

@missy it hurts to lose anyone we love, whether people or pets. I totally understand. I guess I didn't realize you can't cross state lines to see other doctors anymore. That sounds like some communist country. WTH? If I ever get my knee(s) addressed, I want to go to Colorado. That is nice the doctor responded to you. I hope you can work something out. That's good the doctor thought results weren't bad.

@Austina glad Colin checked on the Uber too. Marty said - it'd probably be expensive but maybe cheaper than renting the car for a few days. And yes, that hotel is right by the Budweiser Center. I heard it was still hot there.

I picked up a few groceries today but other than that worked. I think I need a day off. I am easily irritated today. We are getting a thunderstorm right now with a bit of hail. Hope it doesn't get worse.

Take care.
Marcy

Good morning girls! Happy terrific Thursday...and our forecast is rain, rain, rain, rain

@marcy the new laws are confusing but if you are willing to travel to see your out of state doctor you probably can still see them though they cannot prescribe for you in your state making it a moot point for many. I hear you on needing a day off and becoming easily irritated. I moderate a large group and lately I am getting easily annoyed by them asking questions they should know by easily doing a search. And questions that they should already know anyway by being in the group for years. It boggles my mind truly. So I had to take a short break yesterday afternoon and stop answering their questions and I felt better this AM so was back to helping. IMO many people are LAZY and do not want to help themselves but rather have everything handed to them. The thing is if we don't do the work we won't get the results. OMG to hail. Hope the storms were not bad and they are over now for you. We have a stormy 7 plus days ahead. The price we pay for the last 4 amazing weeks of weather here. Oh well. Stay safe and be well

@Austina thank you and you know me well. I do not care for the heat. But hopefully you will get a break in your hot weather soon and in the meantime you know how to make it work. Ugh, I am so sorry to hear about Destiny. I cannot watch or read anything sad about animals. It affects me too strongly and for too long. My heart and body actually feel pain when I see or read something upsetting about animals. Hope you had a successful Costco trip yesterday. Today we are heading to Costco after my doctor's appointment

@bling_dream19 hope you're enjoying a lovely week

@Slickk woohoo one more day right? Happy Summer (even with this winterish weather we are experiencing lol)

@mrs-b I hope you are feeling completely better and enjoying a wonderful birthday week

Hi everyone else. We had our last cycling day yesterday for a while and it was good despite very high winds. It was a good workout lol and we did enjoy ice cream too

Screen Shot 2023-06-22 at 6.58.36 AM.png

So one of my specialists (whose email I shared yesterday) contacted me and we have a phone call set up for late Monday afternoon. How kind is he? He is no longer allowed to see me as a patient but he is willing to do a phone call because I need his input. He cannot treat me but he can share his advice and thoughts with me and I greatly appreciate that. What a messed up law our country has and it will no doubt affect millions IMO

Have a wonderful Thursday all. I have a doctor's appointment this AM then we are running errands. This rainy Thursday. Stay dry and enjoy. XOXO

@missy -

I really hate the whole out-of-state proclusions. Despite having PPO insurance, when out in LA, I'm only covered for emergency treatments. Yet ideally, I'm out there half of every year. But since MA is my primary residence, I have to come back here every time I need an Entyvio infusion or want to see a specialist. It sucks the big one. You have my full sympathies!

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@missy ohmygod waves a galore!!! Beautiful yet frightening. How wonderful that MD cares ABOUT you! Bummer about the crapshoot healthcare system.

@marcy take a break for sure.

@mrs-b food poisoning is right up there on the YUCK scale.

@Slickk holidays here you come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Austina I go to the market for one thing--and 200 bucks later. Story of my life.

Work was not horrific this week--guess I should be thankful?? Standing firm on limiting my time. We had plenty of rain this week and pretty cool temps. Mountains got snow. Sunny and warm today! (except there was a frost delay on the golf course today LOL my DH is playing). And I got take out. LOL

I need to look at some jewellery--off to computer window shop!

cheers--Sharon

Hi NRDI’s!

@missy I’m glad you took a day off on the group you moderate. My sentiments exactly on many people want you to do the work for them. I was still a bit irritated today but less than yesterday. My boss edited my next video and had all sorts of negative comments this morning. She definitely was in a bad mood when she edited it. She said she had to change so much on it that she added her name to producing it. When I looked I didn’t see that much that she had to change, but whatever. I don’t care if she wants her name on it. That would be awkward going out of state for medical care but not be able to fill any prescriptions you get. That’s a case of making things way more complicated than they have to be. Sigh. I can hear Will Farrell saying “is everyone on crazy pills?” That’s great the doctor agreed to call you and offer his thoughts and advice. I hope it goes well and is helpful. Beautiful picture of the ocean and the bird.

@mrs-b that is so nuts about insurance. You can’t plan ahead where you are going to be if you need medical treatment. Now I’m glad I didn’t go to the ER in Colorado when I broke my wrist.

@canuk-gal did you find anything pretty window shopping for jewelry? I didn’t even wear any jewelry today. That’s great work wasn’t horrific this week.

Not much new with me. Apparently my last video has over 41,000 views. I hope no one stops me on the street for a selfie with me. Ha Ha.

I worked more than I intended. I ate an orange after I logged off in anticipation of waiting to eat with Marty. He is usually done at the gym at about 6:30 today.

Take care.
Marcy

Good morning lovely ladies. Happy FriYAY. Just a quick hello as I am pretty exhausted.

We were basically in the ER all day yesterday from like 10AM to past 7PM. Greg started shivering and feeling feverish right after we left my derm appointment and I said let's call our PCP but long story short we ended up at urgent care where they examined him right there in the waiting room and sent us immediately to the ER. I mean they were pushing us out the door because the doctor who examined him feared it was sepsis. They didn't even take any info from us re insurance or ID...when we walked in they rushed over to him and started getting the equipment out right there to examine him in the waiting room. It was surreal

We drove to the hospital ER where the hospital staff (nurses, PA, doctor) were very good (and so so nice) and took us immediately despite being very busy. They ran all sorts of tests and gave him IV antibiotics and pain meds and the upshot of it is he has a severe UTI. I am concerned about kidney stones causing the UTI.

They wanted him to stay at least one day overnight maybe two (he was running a fever of 101 and his normal temp is 97 and his heart rate was over 105 and when first admitted it was 122) but the ER doctor let us go because Greg basically insisted. They gave him four plus bags of IV fluids while we were there plus IV Tylenol and antibiotics and sent us home with an RX for oral antibiotics after administering the first oral dose at the hospital.

The pharmacy was great too because it was after 5PM when they got the RX and I called asking if somehow they could deliver it (their delivery person leaves at 2PM) and they said yes. So that was a relief since we would have gotten home after they closed.

Greg just woke up and said he is feeling OK but we shall see. I'm on edge because I was leaning towards him staying at the hospital but he insisted on coming home. We have an appointment today with his urology PA (tried to get with the urologist but he was completely booked and the only reason they gave us the PA is the hospital called them saying they had to see him tomorrow. So hoping that appointment goes well and hoping we don't have to go back to the ER. Not fun.

Life can change in a moment. A second. I never take anything for granted. Enjoy a great friYAY girls and be safe and well.
XOXO

OMG @missy, I’m so sorry, what a scary time for you both. I’m glad Greg is feeling a little better today, and I know you’ll be keeping a very close eye on him. I hope the appt goes well today and leaves you reassured that everything is OK. Sending lots of love and good thoughts your way.

We have to go and pick up the car today, apparently they’ve fixed it :roll2:

((Hugs)) to you and Greg @missy, what a scary day. You are so right that life can change in a moment. Take care and I hope Greg feels better soon.

Thank you so much @Austina and @finerthings for your kind and well wishes. it was so scary. We didn't know what was happening and while Greg wasn't scared I very much was. Especially when his very strong shivering would not stop. I said to the ER nurse please don't let him die. I mean I was beyond scared. (I said it out of earshot of Greg). I am grateful for the excellent care we received both at the urgent care center and the ER department at the hospital. Truly grateful. I just hope today the urology PA (we never met her) knows what she is doing and that Greg will be OK.

@missy - how is Greg doing today? I left it till this afternoon before asking, hoping you might have an idea how things were progressing.

So 3.5 weeks after Tim's 'emergency' appt with the pulmonologist, who said he'd arrange a fast appt with the pulmonary intervention team, a PET scan, and an apt with a cardiologist colleague of his due to Tim's dropping heart rate, and having heard nothing, we contacted his office and spoke to his scheduler....who said there was no record of any of this in his notes and that no appts had been arranged.

My reaction was...NOT positive. So I sat for a bit and just ground my teeth, then waited a day, as they said he'd get back to us in 24 hours. The next day, having heard nothing (a surprise, right?), I called and was told the same thing, and asked the scheduler to reach out to him again. But then, I wrote a full and frank letter to the dr, Tim signed it, and we went to the hospital where we dropped it off. We pretty much said that we'd be lodging a complaint if we didn't hear back from him, and I recounted word for word how he had said he'd be the baseball equivalent of the catcher in this scenario, calling the plays and coordinating the entire process.

Well, as catchers go, this guy has been giving the entire opposing team home runs. But after thinly veiled threats, he called back this morning, and calls started coming in from other specialists he had contacted. Tim now has his pulmonary intervention team appointment in...late August. FFS. So I'm assuming he won't get his biopsy till September. Let's just pray he doesn't DIE before then, shall we??

I go back to LA tomorrow for 6 weeks. Obviously, if Tim experiences ANY problems, I'll be back, pronto.

In the meantime, we had our (very weedy) back patio pulled up, heavy weed cloth put down, and new, heavier duty cement sand put down that should choke out any cheeky weeds that try to poke through. Here's a photo.

Hugs to you all. oxo

@MamaBee - how are you doing? Are you in the new house? Thinking of you....

Hi NIRDI's!

@missy I am so sorry to hear about Greg. That is so scary. I hope he is doing better and the doctor gets him on the mend. Big hugs to both of you.

@Austina so you're a two car family now? What a mess that has been.

@mrs-b that is inexcusable what is happening with Tim and not getting the proper attention and response. Sometimes going to one of those walk-in family medical clinics can help get you in to see specialists. It may not be to the doctor of choice, but it might get the process going a little quicker. Sorry if that's not an option, but it's just a thought. Big hugs to both of you.

I got another video finished and posted today. Worked until 5 and am looking forward to playing a retired person tomorrow. We are headed to Colorado to look at solar telescopes. So that'll be fun.

Take care.
Marcy

GM girls and happy Caturday Saturday!

@mrs-b safe flight and big hugs. Keeping you, Tim and Ballin always in my thoughts and prayers and sending love your way

@marcy thank you. It's been a challenging few days but one day at a time right? Haha enjoy playing retired person today..you deserve it and enjoy checking out the Colorado telescopes XOXO

@Austina did you pick up the Kia? Is it working? What are your thoughts about moving forward with this now? This is just ludicrous how long this has been going on and I hope if you want a full refund that is what you get XOXO

@bling_dream19 aww thank you and I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and hoping the rest of your treatment goes without incident. Sending all my love and well wishes

@Slickk woohoo welcome to freedom and summer vacation...you made it. And hopefully soon the weather will improve but you are officially on vacation and no matter the weather I know you will enjoy each day to the max however you spend them. Sending love and hugs

@canuk-gal hope you are having cycling weather and enjoying time on the bike and have a fun weekend XOXO

Hi everyone else. Sharing an update.

We saw the urology PA yesterday and she consulted with the urologist. The urologist said he doesn't think it was/is a UTI. The urine was pretty much clear yesterday and at the ER too. However, his blood work was not OK with very high WBCs and RBCs and EGFR too low. I had to point out the EGFR was low as everyone just missed that. The urologist thinks it could be 1. kidney infection and/or 2. kidney stones blocking the ureter so Greg has to do a CT scan. Dr wanted it ASAP but unfortunately it was after 3 PM friday and I couldn't get him an appt til Monday at the imaging center for a CT scan. Greg was not happy about having to do a CT scan but we talked him into it. Due to the radiation and the fact he has had many procedures with radiation so he didn't want another and I totally understand that but we have no choice. He is not out of the woods unfortunately and I am concerned and we have to now just wait til monday and pray he doesn't have a flare and have to go back to the ER where they misdiagnosed him initially. So we wait and hope for the best and I am hoping Greg keeps improving and we do not have to go back to the ER

Today we will run errands and just spend the day together (haha we do that every day) as it is another rainy day here at the jersey shore. Be well and enjoy a lovely and wonderful weekend XOXO

In honor of Caturday Saturday here is fresca, pepsi and dr pepper...just hanging out in our front yard. They're like where are you going as we backed out of the driveway lol.

Oh no @missy, the news about Greg is definitely not encouraging. Sending you both major good vibes and ((hugs)). I know whenever my husband is ill I am beside myself with worry. I hope the the antibiotic is enough to keep whatever is going on under some sort of control until you get a correct diagnosis.

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!

@missy so sorry for Greg's health issues. Hope he is not in pain/suffering, and also hope things get sorted quickly.

@Austina well, do tell what happens with the name that not be mentioned. Since covid , car dealers here buy back their own product.

@mrs-b travel safely and hope your DH is feeling well! Sorry for the referral snafu--unfortunately it happens here also. Very frustrating.

@marcy I did spend some time on the Tiffany site--but to look for purses!!! I have my eye on something--please win that LOTTO!

Cycled yesterday and today. Beat the thundershowers. Nice and warm otherwise. Had a lovely lunch out yesterday with a friend. I am actually cooking today--what is WRONG with me?? LOL

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

What a total pig’s ear @mrs-b, the incompetence is staggering! Honestly, do these people not realise how much stress their failure to do their job causes other people? Obviously not, or they simply don’t care. I’m so sorry that Tim is still waiting for his urgent appt, and I hope that they can fast track it rather than having to wait another 2 months, totally unacceptable on every level.

Sending lots of good thoughts to Greg, and keeping everything crossed that he’ll be comfortable until you can get him in for the scan on Monday @missy. I can understand his reluctance, but in this instance, needs must, and a proper diagnosis is what’s needed so he can get the right treatment.

I hope you have fun on your trip to Colorado @marcy, will you be buying a telescope, or is that just a recon mission?

I think we can say that you’ve failed in your mission @canuk-gal but we’ll allow you this temporary lapse  Glad you got out and enjoyed meeting your friend and lunch.

Sooooo, we got to the dealer yesterday and asked if they’d be interested in buying the car. They said yes, then we had to wait, and wait, and wait till they could get an appraiser to look at it. They eventually came back with an offer, which we’ve accepted, so we left it there, and will go back on Wednesday to complete the paperwork.

Another hot day here, so we’ve been enjoying the pool, and fortunately there’s been a breeze so it hasn’t felt too bad.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend lovely NIRDIS :wavey:

Hi NIRDI's!

@missy hoping Greg is doing okay this weekend and they figure this out soon and get him on the mend. I am keeping both of you in my thoughts. Big hugs coming to both of you. The ocean and clouds are beautiful!

@canuk-gal good idea to check out purses from Tiffany's. I'm trying to win the lotto. Really! Darn to break your non-cooking treat. I cooked breakfast for us today. But we ate out in Denver for a late lunch.

@Austina that's great the dealer will buy back their car. New and used cars are in a short supply around here so I think dealers want as many cars as they can get. I hope the final paperwork goes smoothly and it's behind you.

Marty got up a few hours before I did but when I got around I made us bacon, eggs and toast for breakfast. We headed to Denver at about 9:30. The interstate was nuts. Colorado has not keep its interstates up with the current population so they are expanding lanes and there is construction everywhere. It probably took us an extra hour to get to the telescope store. We came home on a state highway rather than the interstate. Far less traffic. Got back on the interstate about 30 miles south of home.

So we went to look at a different solar telescope than we have but they didn't have the one we wanted to look at out for display, they set up a larger scope for us to use and the employee and Marty could never get it to focus right. I didn't like the finder on it or the focus knobs anyway. Marty was eyeballing some refactor telescopes that he would use to take pictures. I gave the employee a hard time and said "he slipped you $20 while I used the restroom to make sure the solar scope didn't work, didn't he?" He didn't know what to think. Anyway, Marty ended up bringing home a 91mm telescope with assorted accessories. He's pretty excited with this new toy. He just took a few shots of the moon and it focused okay. He'll be up all night.

After spending enough money that would have bought me a new ring - ha ha - we went to one of our favorite steak houses down there and enjoyed a lovely dinner. Then we ventured home.

I went downstairs for a while and watched Marty set up his new scope on his mount.

By the way, I did work about 30 minutes before we headed out this morning. But I'm not doing anymore.

Take care.
Marcy

Good morning girls! Happy Super Sunday!

@marcy, thank you! He is feeling well TG. Praying that keeps being the case. He is taking his antibiotics and hydrating and tomorrow goes for the CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis. We got conflicting info as to whether he has to fast or not so I have to figure that out before tomorrow. It's a CT scan without contrast. LOL glad you only did 30 minutes of work and no more for the rest of the weekend. That is, IMO, reasonable. Sweet Marty was setting up his new scope. It poured here for only abut 10 minutes but we did have thunder for a few hours during that with no rain the rest of the time. Wow to the traffic going to Colorado. One of my specialists is located outside of Denver and he told me it was way too populated there now. Plus the air quality isn't great during some months of the year. It't too bad because I love Colorado. Yummm to a delicious breakfast Marty cooked for you. That is love. And who doesn't love new toys. Yay for a successful trip

@canuk-gal aww thank you Sharon! He is feeling better and knock wood so far so good. I am closely watching him and hoping whatever this is doesn't flare again. And it would be nice to get a correct diagnosis. I did suspect kidney stones but Greg keeps insisting he knows what kidney stones feel like (and after 30 plus years of experiencing them I know he does) but I keep saying what if they are small but still causing a blockage of some sort? Anyway the CT scan should help pinpoint the issue. Just praying whatever it is is easily treated/managed. It's been a full three plus years of health issues but I guess that comes with getting older and wiser hahaha. At least I am trying to get wiser lol. Woohoo to cycling and beating the thunderstorms. I do miss cycling as it's been three days now and today will make four. Looks like rain is in our forecast for the rest of the coming week too. I will say it came at a good time with Greg being under the weather so to speak. Greg was like let's try cycling today but there's a 50% chance of thunderstorms so not sure I want to risk it. Anyway enjoy this Sunday whatever you do

**edited at op request**

@bling_dream19 hope you are feeling well and doing well and boo to any adverse effects, May the rest of this journey go smoothly and as well as possible

@Slickk welcome to summer vacation and while it is a bumpy start weather wise let's hope for bluer clearer skies soon. Having free time is sweet no matter the weather and I hope you are enjoying each day. Big hugs to Bear

@Tekate girrrrrl, so nice to "see" you and omg Auti is growing up so fast. It goes so fast. Big hugs and lots of love

@mrs-b hope your flight went very smoothly and you are reunited with Eleanor and having a wonderful time. And good thoughts for Tim and Ballin. And big hugs to you

Hey everyone else, hope you are having a wonderful weekend. We ran errands yesterday and relaxed the rest of the day. Greg seems to be feeling well TG and hoping that continues. Today is up in the air as to what we will do. I hope you enjoy a super Sunday. Be well. XOXO

Hi NIRDI’s!

@missy I’m relieved that Greg feeling okay. I hope the CT scan goes well tomorrow and you both get some answers and whatever it takes to get better again is quick, easy and painless. Big hugs to both of you. Your specialist in the Denver area is right, their population has exploded lately and the traffic confirms that. I HATE driving in that much traffic. This Wyoming lady isn’t used to that. And yes, their air quality can be bad at times. I did work 90 minutes today but not too bad. I was productive anyway.

Marty and I had fun last night hanging out on the couch and pulling up objects in the sky on his iPad, which was running the new scope outside. I told him on cold, and clear winter nights he could set up the scope on the deck and we could “observe” inside. Sweet. He finally decided on what he wanted to get a picture of and set it up about 10:30, then we went to bed. He is pleased with his “first” light from his new scope.

We went out for breakfast and dinner - I am trying to keep your trend going @canuk-gal. I got laundry done, lifted, wrote and sent off my monthly article for the newspaper and got the July newsletter done for the club. Yay!

We had supper at a new / old Italian restaurant. They closed down years ago and are under new owners now so tried them again. The food was good so I hope they make it now. Their idea of “double” meet didn’t meet Marty’s expectations, but I gave him half of my chicken parm.

Take care.
Marcy

Here's Marty's new image. It's a planetary nebula known as M27 aka the Dumbbell nebula.

Good morning lovely ladies and happy marvelous Monday!

@marcy thank you! Greg's appointment is soon. Fingers and toes crossed it goes OK. We won't know anything today. Wow that planetary nebula is awesome. Nice job Mr Marty! Glad you got to enjoy breakfast and dinner out. I love italian food. Sorry Marty's dish wasn't up to his expectations but glad you shared yours with him. That is love. I don't like sharing my food so when I do you know you are golden lol

@Slickk haha happy Monday but it's still vacation for you, enjoy!\

@bling_dream19 have a good week and be well. I am thinking of you

@canuk-gal hope your Monday is off to a good start

@mrs-b hope you are enjoying california to the max and everyone is doing as well as possible under the circumstances

@springerspaniel hope you enjoyed a lovely weekend

@Austina hope your weather cools off soon

Hi everyone else. We did go cycling yesterday and beat the rain. Unfortunately my treadmill broke and nothing happens fast. First of all it was a Sunday so everyone was closed. But second of all they no longer make the treadmill I love and it is going to take a month to get a replacement if I am lucky. So this is not great because it is too hot for me to jog outside. I do not do well under non temperature controlled conditions. And while I have an elliptical that is not considered to be weight bearing unfortunately. Sigh. Always something. Working out is the way I release my anxiety so it is more important to me than many and I never miss a day. Oh well. Today we are probably going cycling despite rain threat but I am not sure since I do want to start this process of finding a treadmill to order and there is a store about 40 minutes from us that has treadmills so I might want to go take a look but that would mean no cycling today as I have a zoom call with my girlfriends later. I have not yet decided if we are going cycling or treadmill shopping. I spoke to someone at the store yesterday (they were open part of the day yesterday but we were already on the road cycling) and he said it will take a few weeks even if I get a floor model. And maybe it is my suspicious nature but whatever they tell me time wise I do not trust. Over promise and under deliver. You know. The precor person I spoke with at the company told me to expect 4 weeks from ordering which also makes me think that could be longer too.\

May I ask everyone to think good thoughts for Greg today...thank you!

Have a marvelous Monday lovely ladies. Be well and enjoy. XOXO

Sharing a photo I took as we were cycling yesterday

Ok day one no treadmill. Just got back from jogging on the trail near our house
Wow it’s too hot to be jogging outside no matter how early lol
but it is beautiful early in the morning when no one else is around. Peaceful bliss ♥️

@missy sending good thoughts for Greg today.

Hello Lovelies

Sending tons of good thoughts your way @missy that they find out the cause of the problem with Greg, and come up with the solution. We were out just after 8am cutting the lawns, and it was HOT!! I’m so sorry about the treadmill, it seems to be one thing after another, and yes, I think you’re right to be suspicious about the timeline. Fingers crossed in this instance, they’ve under promised and will over deliver. What a spectacular view on your morning jog.

Wow, that’s amazing @marcy, what a shot and how appropriately named! Glad you didn’t work too hard this weekend and had time for chilling out. Yum to Italian food, let’s hope they maintain a good standard and stay in business.

I hope you arrived safely in Ca. @mrs-b and you get some good news soon with Tim’s appt.

Wishing you a stress free work week @canuk-gal.

We haven‘t done much this weekend, it’s really hot, so we’ve been in the pool a lot, and otherwise inside staying cool.

Forecast looking pretty much the same for the rest of the week.

:wavey:

Sitting in the waiting room at the spa at the Langham Hotel, waiting for my facial appt. Good lord - you’ve never seen such pretension. The staff is very nice, but the guests…. Least said soonest mended, I think.

Tim met with the cardiologist this morning and he’s having a bunch of tests to see if the sarcoidosis has invaded his heart. First appt today, where he had bloods taken and a one week monitor attached. More appts scheduled with a cardio who specializes in sarcoidosis. So we’ll see.

It’s lovely to be back in Cali. Dinner with Eleanor this evening and very happy with life in general. @missy - thinking of Greg. And @Austina - did you get the car? What will you do with it now??

Thinking of you, @marcy and @canuk-gal and @Slickk and @springerspaniel and @MamaBee and @bling_dream19 and all the other NIRDIs! Love to you all. <3

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@mrs-b You have such lovely humor! I'm glad you are feeling well and able to travel:, being back in CA & in more loving arms, and you are healing. Much support to your DH.

@missy poops about your treadmill. Can you retrieve your other one from Brooklyn? I didn't know you ran and AND cycled everyday!!!!

@marcy COOL telescope set up!!!!! Good on ya!!!! And I won 32 bucks in the LOTTO. We are well on our way!!!!

@Austina I'm glad your pool is paying out!!! You must need a lot of moisturizer!!! Hope your Lexus is still giving you love.

Had a nice ride today--with a friend. DH golfed and the weather was superb. Had errands in the afternoon--not the least of which was unloading a heavy Visa bill. I really don't need the trauma of that. LOL. (all that bloody take out)

@Slickk of course Alice Cooper comes to mind! Enjoy!

Where are all our other lovely NIRDI's? @Scandinavian @Tekate etc etc?

cheers--Sharon

Hi NIRDI’s!

@missy I’ve had you and Greg in my thoughts all day. Hoping you get some answers soon. I hate to hear about your treadmill. Good luck replacing it sooner than expected. Gorgeous views from your jogging this morning.

@Austina it sounds like it’s too hot to do much there right now. A weather map I saw indicated the heat wave could last a while. Try to stay cool.

@mrs-b I hope you messed with those pretentious guests. I couldn’t help myself. I hope Tim’s tests go okay and you both get some answers. Big hugs to both of you. Glad you are enjoying being back in California and that dinner with Eleanor was fun.

@canuk-gal woo hoo - you almost doubled our winnings! I keep trying to cash in my $5 winner but there’s never anyone at the customer service counter at the store. That’s great you had a nice ride with a friend. Darn those pesky Visa bills.

Not much new with me. Heck, I worked 10 hours today so it’s not like I have time to do anything else. Ha Ha.

It’s at least warm here but there’s two tornados on the ground northeast of hear and near by sister’s house. I haven’t heard from here. Yet.

Take care.
Marcy

Good morning girls and happy wonderful Wednesday!

@canuk-gal good deal you enjoyed cycling and your dh enjoyed golfing. Purrrfect. And yes I do 7 miles daily on the treadmill. Jogging and fast walking. I don''t count cycling as my workout because it is not weight bearing and I do not sweat as much cycling lol. Speaking of sweat wow the last two days I sweated up a storm running outside. The humidity here is unreal and my sweat was not evaporating.

@marcy thank you so much. We got good news yesterday more on that below. TG they called us before my Zoom because I would have missed it and I had questions so glad I was there plus I wanted Greg to be able to repeat labs and so I got that request approved whereas if I missed the call that would not have been done. The doctor called right before my Zoom luckily. How are you feeling?

@mrs-b glad you are enjoying sunny california and girl yes to being pampered! Thank you for the good wishes for Greg

@bling_dream19 happy Wednesday and hope all is going smoothly

@Slickk happy summer and I hope you are enjoying each day. And hugs to Bear

@Austina hope you are enjoying the pool and beating the heat...summer comes early by you

Hi everyone else

Lots of stuff happened over the past two days. Where did I leave off?

So we actually did go cycling and treadmill shopping on Monday. We squeezed it all in and my great girlfriends were happy to reschedule the zoom for last night and we had a terrific zoom.

I bought a new treadmill Monday morning that costs as much as a modest car lol. I am just praying I like it because the salesman talked me out of getting another Precor due to the fact peloton is going down and they now own precor. So I got his favorite a Matrix. Please let me like it as I was having buyers remorse monday afternoon. I mean wow it is expensive and just crazy the cost for a treadmill. It will be worth it if I like it. I do 7 miles daily on the treadmill so it is something I use a lot. it will take a few weeks to a month to get it but I am prepared for longer. Greg was able to fix one of my very old treadmills ( I have four lol) yesterday so today I will try it out. Fingers crossed it works good enough to hold me. I did run outside Monday and Tuesday and I am paying the price now. Lots of aches and pains. I keep forgetting I am not 30 anymore lol

More good news...Greg's doctor called and the CT scan was clear. Good news but the bad news is we have no clue what caused his fever spike and shivering and it was definitely an infection of some sort. I asked that he be able to repeat the blood work (due to elevated WBCs and lower EGFR) so after the course of antibiotics is over we will have him repeat labs. And see where we are and he has a follow up end of this month. Just praying whatever it was is over and done with because I am uneasy without a diagnosis that it can happen again.

We went cycling the past two days despite rain threat and so far we have not gotten caught in downpours yay. This morning I am seeing my rheumatologist for a follow up. Long story there but one of my labs tested positive for Lyme but we will see what he says as I am asymptomatic and the details with the lab work says you need five to be positive but I have heard otherwise so we shall see.

Leaving you with a few (many because I owe you from missing posting yesterday lol) photos from the past two days. Enjoy and be well.

@springerspaniel here's our tree thriving and looking lovely during my morning run yesterday

Speaking of morning run...so serene and beautiful. I really did enjoy running outdoors despite the pain I am in today lol
I am so grateful we live surrounded by beauty and nature and this trail is so close to our house. It is truly stunning all around us here

And lastly not a great photo sorry...but the deck of the treadmill I chose...I am getting a special console but forgot to take a photo of that. Very fancy shmancy

Happy happy birthday @Austina ♥️

Dearest Austina
Happy birthday to ya

On this auspicious day
We come here to say
How much we care
and love that we share

our days with each other
the adventures, the mundane
sharing experiences
increasing joy, lessening pain

Our friendship and support
The caring and rapport
Feels so close and dear
Though the miles are not near

You're a breath of fresh air
Bringing sunshine and fun
and clear blue skies above
May you find laughter and love
In all that you do
Happy birthday today
and all the year through

Hugs, kisses and birthday wishes
From all your PS NIRDI sisters

XOXO

@Austina! Happy birthday! May today be filled with joy and the coming year filled with every good thing. Hope you get to spend at least *some* of it in your pool!

And @missy - I swear- your photos just get better and better! That one just above the ice cream is sublime. Continuing to send Greg warm thoughts.

@bling_dream19 - I meet with Amy this evening. Yay!

@marcy - 10 hours?! You are the least retired person I know! Please make sure you have time for yourself!

@canuk-gal - I'm glad you got a good ride yesterday. Beautiful weather effects everything (not least of which one's mood!) doesn't it?

@Slickk - I hope you're well ensconced in summer vacay time now!

@springerspaniel - hugs to you and I hope you're enjoying the gorgeous north east summer. <3

@MamaBee - hoping all has gone well with the move and you're feeling less stressed. How is your BP?

Love to you all - NIRDI shout out! oxo

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another wonderful weather day--got a ride in. Saw all the usual suspects on the paths--our "friends". LOL But I seem to have pulled a muscle in my chest (like what??) as it is sore mid chest and hurts to breathe deeply. I can't imagine what I did for this pain--maybe ate too much supper? LOL. We did meet family (out of town) for supper and we did eat a lot!

I mean I did try and untangle my DH long sleeved layer from his bike chain (DON'T ASK) but I don't recall using that much energy or force to cause this pain. Anyway, no going to work this week.

@mrs-b oh yes, weather is a mood changer! Hope you are California dreaming!
@missy I am glad the CT scan didn't show anything scary. Mystery illness--gives no comfort. Good on you getting a new ride!!! LOL Are you still fixing the other one?
@marcy you are one serious worker bee!

They predict thunderstorms daily but haven't really had any yet. I am glad they leave without trouble. No one need dime sized hail anyway. Oh and I did have an ice cream cone today! Tiger!! My annual one or two.

cheers--Sharon
