Happy Friday lovelies

I don’t know where the time goes!

After talking to our friends yesterday, we had lunch, then went and did the food shopping. Came back and went in the pool, it was lovely late afternoon.

@marcy, it really hasn’t been that hot this week compared to last week, I expect Marty will be glad to get back to ‘normal’ weather. What a pain about the debit card, but at least it wasn’t used fraudulently.

Looks like nuking the ants then using the peppermint based treatment has done the trick @canuk-gal. We haven‘t seen any more of the little blighters in the pantry, thank goodness. Anytime you want heat, head on down, we’ve got it wall to wall here.

Yum, I love cookies and cream ice cream @missy. Glad you got in a good ride yesterday, and like you, patience isn’t my strong suit!

Hi NIRDI's!

@missy life is unpredictable, but it keeps us on our toes. It's hard not to worry, but we know it doesn't do us any good - yet we still do it. Glad you got to cycle and enjoy what you love doing. Mmm ice cream. And I'm not splitting our $8 winnings with Marty, ha ha.

@canuk-gal glad the TS wasn't bad at your place. We only had sprinkles here today, but the skies sure looked threatening for a while. Marty is glad to get out of the heat, but will be going to Kansas week after next so it won't be much better. Glad you enjoyed KFC, I ordered nuggets from Chick Fil-A for supper. I was totally Door Dash today other than fruit and toast for breakfast.

I worked straight through today so got put in eight hours and was watching a movie by 3:30. Marty's plane landed about 40 minutes late and then the escalators and trains at DIA weren't working. Luckily the terminal he was in has a walkway you can use to get out of the terminal. What a mess.

He hit Denver traffic at 5 so stopped at my sisters and they all went out for supper. Good call.

Hi @Austina we were posted at the same time. I am glad the ants appear to be gone. I'm with you on cookies and ice cream. I haven't eaten the "best" for the last three days but not horrid either. Yes, I was glad no strange charges showed up on Marty's debit card. But I did tell a friend, to be fair they might have spent less than he does.

Stunning weather day--high 29C. We rode to our favorite Italian market and of course got lunch and take out!!! We are off to happy hour soon. I finally bought a battery operated wine opener--OF COURSE I don't have 4 AA's!

@missy glad you got out to cycle. Yes, I really enjoy riding by the water also. And Cleo is sure a dolly!

@marcy glad your DH got home safe and sound and that you had a nice meal out with family.

Greg started not feeling well yesterday afternoon after we got back from our ride. First I was hoping it was the heat and ride but now I am unsure and worried. Ugh. We were in early before going to the tractor place as Colin has somehow managed to kill his new mower. They’re coming out to have a look.

Hi girls. Just a quick shout out. Greg’s been admitted to the hospital and the doctors are trying to figure this out. His fever went up to 103 and while iv Tylenol brings it down it’s only temporary. And his WBC count is sky high. Tomorrow the infectious disease doctor should be meeting with us. On a positive note the sweet nurse just moved us to a private room so we could have privacy. How nice everyone is here.

And my endocrinologist called me earlier because I had to cancel our Wednesday appointments with him since Greg is likely staying the week at least. He called to express concern and caring. I’m really touched because he’s super busy but took time to call and try troubleshooting

Ok I’m sorry not to respond individually but I’m exhausted and just bleary eyed. Thank you all for your concern and caring and please please keep Greg in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you

TY Sharon! I am not sleeping. I'm very worried and I wanted to stay overnight and they would have let me but the cats need meds and food and they are so skittish no one but Greg or me can feed or pill them and even with us it can be challenging to pill Tommy. And on top of it all my sister sent me an article last night showing that the antibiotic combo they have him on via IV has been shown to be nephrotoxic. I called the nurses last night and left a message for the hospitalist but until I am there I cannot show them this valid recent research article. His kidney function is way down and this is not helping and perhaps exacerbating. Unreal. Sorry to vent but I am stressed. And in other news which I know means nothing compared to this Greg didn't fill the feral feeder and there's no way I can do it so this AM I went out and put out bowls of food for the ferals. Unfortunately now the raccoons are eating. Ugh. The feeder kept them out but now we cannot use the feeder til Greg gets back. And all the ferals were waiting this AM when I went to put food out for them...of course they all ran. I cannot be upset with Greg but I sort of am because I always tell him don't let it get close to empty but he does. Just like he lets his phone go to zero charge. Sigh, I am worried sick about him so this doesn't matter. And I did feed them so hopefully they will eat and the raccoons won't get it all. I put out a huge amount lol so that should be OK. Just must bring it in before it gets dark tonight..Thanks for letting me vent

Thank you S. I know you know I am worried sick. He did not sleep last night with all the beeping and IVS and vitals being taken every few hours but I pray they will be able to figure this out and get him well. I am not 100% confident though

Last night our friend Nora called me and insisted on driving to the hospital to let me follow her home because I never drove it alone before and I have no sense of direction...I told her no earlier when she called in the morning and afternoon both but she called again last night when I was still at the hospital and she insisted. She kept saying she has nothing else to do and she wants to do this to make things less stressful. She wore me down and I did appreciate her generous offer....So she drove 45 minutes to meet me and then I followed her home. LOL hard to believe I am my age and still clueless with directions and not a confident driver at all growing up in NYC and not driving till I was 23. I definitely have a brain blip with directions and it is not easy for me to drive places I am not familiar with the route. GPS doesn't help me like it does others because I have trouble understanding where to turn etc. Pathetic I know. But anyway Nora was/is a doll and she is so generous. I won't be letting her do this today and hopefully I can find my way to the hospital because I never drove there before. Yesterday I parked in the ER parking lot and it is not at the hospital parking lot and I cannot do that again and just go through the ER to the hospital as it is locked up for travel through except for patients of course. So wish me luck LOL. And most importantly please please keep Greg in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you ((((Hugs))))

Saw this and am keeping you and Greg in my thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery. My DH recently was in the hospital and can appreciate how frightening it can be when you are unsure what is wrong. Just figuring out how to navigate the hospital, let alone getting there, is challenging especially when under stress. Take good care of yourself.

I won't tell you not to stress about the ferals bc you will. If you cannot load the feeder yourself can you find a neighbor that can help you? Does Nora have a strong grandson to help lift the food bag? I know you know the cats will be well without table service; and at this difficult point, your attentions are elsewhere. And once Greg gets home he might not be up to that kind of heavy activity. Speaking of eating, what are you taking? Not eating, and sleeping, and worry. I am concerned about you!!
