Now I really did it :((

Hoping the Dr has figured out what the problem is and how to treat Greg @missy. I hope you’re taking care of yourself too. xxx

Hoping that the doctors have this under control by now. Sending you both bucket loads of good vibes. Take care @missy !!

@Slickk I love your orchid avatar--so beautiful! And of course Bear is such a darling! I love the "over the shoulder" shot!

@Tekate has the new baby arrived yet? I am so excited for you!

Thank you so much @springerspaniel I do adore him as you know how fur babies creep into your heart and take over. I also have the perfect window for Orchids now! I have a slew of them. Always blooming!!

@missy still hoping for a positive update ❤️

TY everyone who wrote, called, texted and otherwise showed your caring and love. So appreciated. I was quite worried about Greg but have an update. Mixed update but still good news with uncertain news.

He’s been released from the hospital this evening. The CT scan with IV contrast done at 3pm this afternoon showed pyelonephritis. Which I would like to add is the diagnosis my sister suggested this past Sunday! And the ER Drs said no.

Unfortunately the CT scan showed a suspicious spot on the liver. And the hospitalist wants him to see a liver specialist asap. Greg is not keen on this however. But we will schedule an appointment. Just not immediately. He needs a bit of a break

The ER messed up the first time because they only gave him 10 days of oral after the IV antibiotics in June. So it only suppressed the infection and a week after he completed the course it came back worse than ever.

Here’s hoping this course of oral works after four full days of IV antibiotics. Fingers and toes crossed

Big hugs and lots of love. Greg’s so happy to be home and I’m so happy he’s back with me ♥️

Thank God you have some answers today and Greg is back at home. The spot on the liver is not great, but one step at a time. (((Hugs))) to both you and Greg. I know this has been so stressful, but now that he is home you both can relax a bit. Continued good vibes being sent your way @missy!

Thank you for posting @missy, I didn’t want to contact you again because I knew you’d be busy. TG Greg is home and hopefully this next course of AB will knock this infection on the head for good. Fingers crossed the appt with the liver specialist will bring good news and a resolution to that issue quickly.

Please rest now, I’m sure you’re absolutely drained, and send our love to Greg for a complete recovery.

Hi NIRDI's!

@missy keeping you and Greg in my thoughts. Sending mega dust his way, Big hugs to you both.

Big hugs to all of those in NIRDI-land.

Marcy

@missy so happy to read that your Greg is back home with you. Praying these antibiotics finally kick this infection out once and for all. As for the spot, as concerning as it is (and it is), I have read that they are often benign, so I’m praying hard that’s what this is.
This week I am celebrating my five year anniversary since the scariest health issue of my life. Thankful everyday that I got through that and hoping you and Greg will have that same relief soon. ❤️
As always, sending lots of hugs and love to you both. Have a peaceful day with your love. Please take care of you too!!

TY! We are both so relieved and will deal with this next challenge but not right now. And happy happy anniversary (and recovery) from that very scary health issue! This is a milestone for you and sending you big hugs and lots of love XOXO
And thank you for all the gorgeous Bear photos. What a handsome baby!

Thank you @finerthings, very much appreciate your good wishes. One day at a time and hopefully whatever this is will be innocuous. Praying it is nothing serious but of course I am concerned

Hey everyone else. Have a great day. Stay cool and be well. XOXO

HI:

@missy of course you are stressing!!!!! I hope Greg is on the mend and they find the source of this illness.

I won't tell you not to stress about the ferals bc you will. If you cannot load the feeder yourself can you find a neighbor that can help you? Does Nora have a strong grandson to help lift the food bag? I know you know the cats will be well without table service; and at this difficult point, your attentions are elsewhere. And once Greg gets home he might not be up to that kind of heavy activity. Speaking of eating, what are you taking? Not eating, and sleeping, and worry. I am concerned about you!!

kind regards Sharon

Thank you Sharon! So relieved to have him home ♥️
@missy I am keeping Greg in my thoughts and hoping he recovers soon.

Thank you springerspaniel. Much appreciated ♥️

@missy I’m so happy Greg is home with you! I was worried..I feel like such a bad NIRDI for not being here and keeping up..I hope everyone is happy, healthy and doing okay..
We get the key on the 29 so I’m scrambling to get fixtures, etc..ordered so they arrive before we get there..Our contractor will need it all when he does the walkthrough with us. We ordered a wall/microwave oven which he will install after removing cabinets. I took down and wrapped crystals from my dining room chandelier in Pa..and packed them. At the moment there are three houses to take care of and as I told you @missy I’m doing it all myself because my husband doesn’t have a clue or interest in figuring out how to do this..He just doesn’t get it. We just came back from dropping off fixtures at my son’s house because we won’t have room in the car to bring them all down for the contractor on August 3. Paint colors, and fixtures have to be settled and in by then. To top it all off I had 12 gum grafts yesterday so my mouth is full of stitches..I’m supposed to keep my blood pressure down or the grafts will fail. It’s overwhelming at the moment. I hope when the dust settles I will be allowed back here..:cry2: XOXO

Hello lovelies

No surprise that it’s HOT here, it’s still 100 degs in the evening.

Ugh @MamaBee, sorry you’re having to deal with all this on your own. Are there not removal companies that do full service there? Obviously when we moved here, we had to have the relocation people to pack and inventory everything for insurance and custom purposes, but prior to this move, we used companies that came and did all our packing. It made life so much easier. Your poor mouth, it sounds miserable having to deal with that on top of everything else. Try and take some down time every day for yourself, even if it’s only 5 minutes to sit quietly and breathe deeply.

Thank you @missy, I was worried when you hadn’t posted and didn’t want you to feel that you had to reply to any other communication from me. I hope Greg is feeling better each day and that the AB are kicking that nasty infection in the butt!

That’s an anniversary worth celebrating @Slickk and long may you continue to be healthy and happy.

All of the warranty work has now been completed on the house, they were all minor issues anyway, but glad it’s been taken care of.

We were out early planting a couple of Esperanzas where we’d lost of a couple of plants, and that’s it, we re definitely done for this year. Then we were in the pool, the water temperature was 96 this morning, just ridiculous. It needed topping up, so that help cool it down a bit.

We went and did our food shopping, came home, had lunch, and we’ve been watching the activity in our neighbour’s garden. Those poor work men are out there in this blazing heat planting trees.

Big love and hugs to you all.

Keep cool

:wavey:

GM girls and happy friYAY!!!

@Tekate woohoo Mazel Tov, your new granddaughter is absolutely precious :kiss2:

@Austina thank you. Oh I feel bad for anyone working in extreme temperatures. Hope they all remain hydrated and OK. Glad you accomplished errands and such

@MamaBee oooh good luck..the countdown is here and we are all super excited for you. Dream homes are nothing to sneeze at and I am very very happy for you. And tell that DH of yours to get off his you know what and help you!

@Slickk TY so much. One day at a time and your anniversary congrats bear (haha get it, Bear) repeating. Happy anniversary, what a milestone

@bling_dream19 thank you and sending you so many healing wishes. May this round go super smoothly and be extremely effective and happy FriYAY!

@canuk-gal hope your air is remaining clear and you are enjoying cycling time and that work isn't too crazy busy or hectic

Hey everyone else. So Greg actually insisted on cycling yesterday which I was hesitant for us to do because 1. he just got home from the hospital and 2. it was extremely hot But he insisted and we didn't do a full ride however we did enough to reach our fave ice cream shoppe haha and enjoyed some cool creamy ice cream..yummmm

I was able to schedule some appointments for Greg...today urology PA, next Tuesday gastro (for liver eval because I couldn't get a hepatology appt yet) and a PCP eval mid August. I was lucky to get these appts as many of the doctors are booked through Sept/Oct. I couldn't get him in with my gastro who is booked through October but one of his partners had an opening Tuesday afternoon so hopefully he will be competent and able to evaluate the liver issue and order the MRI. Not sure he will but it is worth the visit.

This AM we are heading to urology so hoping that goes smoothly. Greg is feeling well knock wood though he is still sleeping so not sure how he is feeling atm...and it is thundering and lightning here now and supposed to be like this for the foreseeable future. Stay safe, stay cool and stay dry. XOXO

Happy pre weekend all!

Hello lovelies

You can’t keep a good man down @missy. So glad Greg felt well enough to ride yesterday, and I hope the appt went well today. Wow, Drs must be really backed up with appts so far out, but glad you’ve at least got them in the diary. Beautiful scenery shots, as always.

We got up early to clean the main pool filter, and of course, when we put it all together, it was leaking  So we had to take it all apart again, and then reassemble it. Thankfully the second time was fine, but by then, we were hot and sweaty - and this was at 7.30am. It was actually slightly cooler during the day, but it‘s hot now at 7pm. We were in the pool early then I had to go and pick up my night guards. They had to be remade as the first one was way too thick.

I hope all the lovely NIRDIs have a great weekend, we’re going out for lunch with our neighbours on Sunday.

:wavey:

Good morning lovely ladies and happy Caturday Saturday!

@Austina we control what we can and hope for the best with the things we cannot control. Thank you for your well wishes and continued support. Knock wood he is feeling well and I pray that continues. I hope your night guards were perfect this time and you enjoy your FT with friends tomorrow.

@Slickk have a wonderful weekend! You have been through so much and you are stronger than ever and you rock in all ways

@bling_dream19 speaking of rock, you also rock and I hope you have a terrific weekend

Hey everyone else. We went cycling again yesterday because the rain ended before 9AM and it was really lovely. Not too hot and with a sweet ocean breeze. We saw some magnificent Bucks and it made the day. The urology appointment in the AM went ok but the urologist feels Greg's diagnosis is missing something because he did not have a bladder infection and apparently it is super rare to get a kidney infection with no UTI...so he is having a cystoscopy in two weeks. He has to wait til he finished the oral antibiotics to get the procedure done. I am concerned because since we don't know what caused the kidney infection there is a chance he can relapse a second time. That is so scary and I hope and pray that does not happen. And that the cystoscopy will provide some answers.

Rain is coming later and for all day Sunday but looks like today we have a window for cycling so we plan on another riding day. Whatever you do enjoy and be well. XOXO

Happy Sunday from the very stormy Jersey Shore! I hope all who are enduring a heat wave are staying cool and comfortable. And I hope y'all having a wonderful weekend.

We had a great day cycling Saturday and enjoyed ice cream and the love of furry babies. Today will be a relaxing day (with the exception of running a few errands)

Missy, that’s a beautiful pic of your walkway leading down to the beach. Also I’ve followed this thread for years and have been thinking about you and G as you have gone through health stuff. Just wanted you to know that.

Thank you Monnie. That means a lot to me and you just brought tears to my eyes. I am sorry, I am feeling a bit sentimental lately given all that is happening. And you taking the time to post here means a lot to me. TY ❤️ I hope all is going as smoothly as possible with you and your sweet daughter and all is well

Oh, never be sorry. We’re all just here for such a short time and I haven’t been the best about staying in touch with a lot of PS besties. So when I post here it’s really sincere and to let you know how much I care. I am well and my gorgeous daughter is, too. Thank you for the well wishes. ❤️

HI:

NIRDI shout out!! Hope everyone is well.

Had a busy weekend with my BIL's memorial. Went really well, was very nice. We are exhausted tho. And I have a busy week, poops. It has been thunder-storming daily here--we just got pelted with rain, but now the sky is blue. Glad we missed the hail, people in town here were not so fortunate.

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

Send some rain our way please @canuk-gal, it’s 104 degs here at 6.30pm. I’m glad your BIL‘s memorial went well, but sorry you’ve got a busy week ahead.

I hope you got all your errands done @missy and didn’t get caught up in any bad weather. Beautiful photos, I could do with a large dollop of ice cream and some cooling sea breezes.

We went out to lunch with our neighbours yesterday, we’re very limited because L is gluten and dairy free, but they knew of somewhere downtown, and we had a good time.

Got up early and went in the pool before it got too hot, then we had a meeting with a lightning rod installer. C & L next door are also interested, so he’s given us a relatively good price. The storms here are fierce, and several houses nearby have caught fire recently.

Our new number plates are in, so we’re off to the dealer tomorrow to get them fitted.

I hope all the lovely NIRDIS have had a good weekend and are keeping well :wavey:

@missy thinking of you and Greg! ❤️ I hope tomorrow’s appointment goes well and he’s feeling much better this week.
Hi NIRDIs! :wavey: Hope everyone is well!

Good morning ladies and happy terrific tuesday!

@Slickk thank you! We are not expecting any answers today. Rather just need a script for a liver MRI. How are you and I hope your summer is going well. Big hugs and lots of love to you, Bear and everyone in the family

@Austina glad you enjoyed a good FT call Sunday. I had my Zoom with the girls yesterday and it is always great catching up with good friends. Glad you are staying cool. Our weather isn't bad but thunderstorms are predicted today so hoping it isn't too bad. It is a good idea to get the lightning rod installed. We have one as well. Plus whole house surge protectors. They are a must IMO

@bling_dream19 hope your week is going well

@MamaBee hope all the house stuff is going smoothly

@Tekate aww your new granddaughter is just precious and I am so so happy for all of you!

@canuk-gal we got to cycle yesterday and hope you are getting to enjoy cycling too and I hope your workweek is not stressful or chaotic and it all goes smoothly

Hi everyone else. Yesterday AM I went to Lab Corp and OMG they took (not exaggerating) 20 vials of blood. She had to stick me twice because one vein gave out after 16 vials. I just hope they got everything and are able to do all the tests. Then we went cycling and it was a great day. I had my regular Zoom call afterwards and the day just flew by...today is gastro for Greg and tomorrow eye eval with a colleague for me. August 1st is my cataract surgical consult but tomorrow will bring me some answers since I cannot examine my own eye lol and I do trust this colleague...just hope it is only a cataract causing my reduced vision

Have a great day girls. Be well and enjoy. XOXO

Hello lovelies

Another scorcher today! We went and got the plates put on the car today. What a difference, went in, and someone came straight out to put the plates on, answered a couple of questions we had, so we were in and out really quickly. We had some other shopping to do in that area before heading home.

Oh my goodness @missy, I’m surprised you had any blood left after all that. I hope Greg’s got a date for his MRI so you can get that all sorted out. Not long to wait for your cataract evaluation, hopefully they won’t try and pull the wool over your eyes () about the situation. Glad you got in a ride and chat with your friends.

Colin got his tractor back yesterday all fixed, and without charge, so mowing tomorrow morning, we’re going to have to get up early to get that done before it get’s too hot. Then in the pool! I don’t know how we managed last year, I think we must’ve just stayed inside all summer long.

I hope all the lovely NIRDIs are keeping cool and well.

:wavey:

Hi NIRDI’s!

@MamaBee you do have a busy time ahead. Good luck with everything and I hope you have a smooth move.

@Austina I bet the heat is pretty tiring there. We got up to 93 the other day. I turned the AC off because it kept kicking on while I was trying to record the audio for a video. About2 hours later, I am taking off y sweatshirt thinking I must be sick because I’m hot. Nope, I forgot to turn the AC back on. Nice to get all the warranty work done on your house. Good idea to install a lightning rod. Our last house had lightning strike the electric pole behind out house. It was 2 a.m., we heard the very loud crack and saw the bolt behind the curtain and everything electrical thing in the house kicked on at once, including the lights from the surge. I screamed! Pretty much anything electrical in the house was fried. TV’s, phones, our printer were all trashed. Glad to hear the tractor is fixed.

@missy beautiful pictures from your outings. I hope you are doing well and Greg is feeling better. Glad you are adding miles to your bike. Think of how many tines you’ve cycled around the world over the years. That’s impressive. OMG that they took that much blood. I hope the tests get some answers for you. Good luck with Greg’s tests tomorrow.

@canuk-gal glad the memorial service was nice. Those things are hard. Big hugs to you and the family.

I see I haven’t posted for days. Busy times. We went to Colorado on Saturday to Marcy shop. I traded in my iPad Mini and iPad Pro for a newer iPad Pro and got an Apple Magic Keyboard for it. I love it. I can use it as a second monitor for work and still have it in the evening for goofing off. The mini was so old it wouldn’t update anymore and some apps wouldn’t work. Plus, it’s tiny.

I spent a few days working on my new video for YouTube. Those darn things take longer than you’d expect. I have a new appreciation for those who put our regular long videos. One of my co-workers was wanting more hours so asked if she could take over one of my tasks. It used to be hers before she cut her hours due to taking care of her invalid mother. I gladly accepted her offer. And even offered her the other task of hers I took over. It’s a win-win for both of us. I told her if they asked me to do one more thing, I was going to ask, what do I give up? It takes about 5-7 hours a week off my time so that’s good. Still won’t make me part time, but should keep me under 40 hours. I can’t image less tine needed for videos. Good thing I enjoy what I’m doing. Funny thing, I’m the go-to person now on videos and I barely know what I’m doing. Onward through the fog.

I met a friend for supper tonight. I saved room to spurge a bit, but then ate more than normal. Alka Seltzer was on the menu when I got home. It was fun.

Marty is in Kansas for work this week.

Take care.
Marcy

Good morning lovely ladies and happy wonderful Wednesday!

@Austina TG you have the pool. It is the only way to beat the heat for sure otherwise indoors in AC is the other alternative so yeah pool rocks. We do have an MRI date..next Wednesday. Next week is shaping up to be a very busy medical week. Yay for Colin getting his tractor fixed for no charge. Sweet.

@marcy as usual you got so much accomplished, very nice. And hope Mr Marty is having a productive week in Kansas. Greg went to Kansas on business once and brought be back a beautiful mug with a flower on it which I am guessing is the state flower. Glad you got some good shopping time in and the video completed. They sound like a lot of work and I am glad you enjoy doing them. That is everything. Work is great when you enjoy what you are doing

@Slickk we got severe downpours yesterday as we were driving home from the gastro. Just wow. I was driving and couldn't see ahead with the torrential rain. After 20 minutes of that I switched seats with Greg because I truly could not see. Speaking of seeing I am seeing my colleague today for an eye exam and so finally we shall get to the bottom of this. And I hope it is just a cataract though I know I have mac degeneration too..fun fun fun. LOL. I hope you are having a wonderful week and beating the heat and the rain and staying cool and dry

@bling_dream19 you remain in my thoughts and I hope all is going super smoothly and well for you. Sending so many well wishes and healing vibes your way

Hey everyone else. We saw the gastro yesterday and got Greg's MRI scheduled and now he has two procedures next week sprinkled in with a dr appointment for me. Hopefully we can get some cycling in too but health comes first. Today heading to my colleague who is 90 minutes away for an eye eval and that is not til late afternoon so might head out cycling (chance of rain 50% though) or headed to the outlets. I would rather cycle but the rain chance is pretty strong so not sure what we will do...I mean if it is anything like yesterday fuggedaboutit lol. It came down in sheets and sheets and did not stop for two hours. We were getting over 2" of rain an hour.So much flooding on the roads. It was unreal.

Have a great day girls. Be well and enjoy. XOXO

Screen Shot 2023-07-19 at 5.28.39 AM.png

Hi NIRDI's!

@missy I hope the MRI goes well and the results bring about a quick and easy solution. Ugh to driving in that horrible rain. It's as bad as a blizzard and you can't stop. Glad Greg was able to drive home. I hope your eye exam went well.

I worked most of the day but ventured out for some groceries. We had a brief rain, but it's sunny already. A heavy battery for the RV got delivered but I noticed the UPS guy pulled up and got out a dolly to deliver it, so I opened the garage door and had him put it in there. Without handle, I think I'd have trouble picking it up.

Speaking of lifting. That's next on my list.

Take care.
Marcy

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!

Work days not so bad. I'm just getting too old for stressful tasks. LOL

A fly by today to hope everyone is AOK. The TS have eluded us today!!

cheers--Sharon

Good morning girls and happy terrific Thursday!

@marcy thank you and hope your lifting session went well. Good you got the UPS delivery because soon they might be on strike. My friend works for UPS and she was out there doing a practice strike. I didn't know they did that. Glad the sun came out for you

@canuk-gal I am glad work days are not too stressful and girl I agree. We do not need extra stress in our lives no no no. Glad the TS didn't make an appearance yesterday. Same for us though we did experience showers on and off yesterday. Today looks like a cycling day woohoo

Good morning @Slickk hope you are enjoying a good week

@bling_dream19 hope the week is going well and all is calm

Hey everyone else. So we ended up going to an outlet we have not gone to since 2019 before the pandemic. Lots of stores gone but others in their place and I did manage to do some damage lol. Then we went to my eye appointment and it was a reunion of sorts since it has been literally 30 years since I saw Steve. It was nice catching up and I am going to schedule a surgical consult with his recommended surgeon who he brought in for me to meet yesterday at the end of my exam. Young but skilled. I have another surgical consult with a different surgeon August 1st that I am keeping and probably will choose between these two surgeons though I might change my mind lol. We shall see. No one can promise I will not experience an RD but hopefully I will not. That is my main concern. Not afraid of the surgery rather the potential aftermath. But I cannot see from my R eye and it is affecting my quality of life. The surgeon and OD both said it is not uncommon for someone young (hahaha they were referring to me lolol) to have this in just one eye when someone is very nearsighted. Which I am so OK I am not unique but I am the youngest person I know who needs cataract surgery. Probably won't schedule til late autumn

Today is hopefully a cycling day. Enjoy this terrific Thursday girls and be well. XOXO
