I saw the cataract surgeon yesterday and have a date for the surgery but meeting with another Monday and I’ll decide which one I want doing my surgery.


We went cycling afterwards and it was purrrrrfect weather. Today looking the same so yay. This AM I did lab work and that’s my update. Have a wonderful Wednesday lovely ladies. XOXO

Had a lovely ride with a friend today--had lovely iced coffee and cake! Very warm and clear blue sky!! My DH was out on work related business--and had a nice lunch out..which means I won't cook supper! LOL. Broke down and got groceries, much as I dislike the task, I need creme for my coffee!! Had a decent work day yesterday.

@canuk-gal so your cracked on getting groceries? I ran to the store Monday. I crack when I’m out of fruit. Glad you had a lovely ride today.

I had a long day. I worked on a gallery of images of last night’s supermoon and created all sorts of problems. I took over for another lady and let’s just say, we do things differently and it led to chaos. Mystery was finally solved though. I get stressed too easily. Luckily it was my lifting day, so that was a good stress reliever.

Also, thank goodness - or curses - that Glad freezer bags can hold a carton of ice cream. I opened a carton of ice cream for dessert tonight and the entire top of the carton was cracked. If it didn’t fit in a freezer bag, I might have had to eat the entire carton of ice cream.

Sorry it was a bit chaotic and a long day working on the gallery of images. It's hard working with others whose style may be different than ours. Glad you worked it out though and all's well that ends well. Totally agree exercise is a stress reliever. Weights and cardiovascular both. Today is my lifting day so my turn. I prefer treadmill but it's a nice variety though I do treadmill daily. And ingenious! Putting the ice cream in a freezer bag because the carton was cracked. Sweet. Literally and figuratively. As for eating a whole carton of ice cream I will just say been there done that (OK maybe it was "only" a pint but still...a pint lol!).

@Austina I hope your vertigo is all gone now...and I hope your weather is cooling down...it's been in the 70s here and dry. For me purrrrffect summer weather and if only I could bottle it

@canuk-gal glad work is going smoothly and you are enjoying wonderful weather and cycling too. And that's a perfect combo...ice coffee and cake. When I was little I loved coffee cake. I also love pound cake. But of course due to being gluten free haven't had anything remotely cake in many years. I miss it so will live vicariously through you...enjoy

Hi everyone else. I'm so impressed. I did lab work at 6:40 AM yesterday at Quest and had my result at 7:30 PM last night. Just a bit over 12 hours. Very very impressive IMO. And yay results were not terrible lol. So it's a win in my book. We had a great cycling day too. Purrrrrfect weather in every way and delish ice cream and good friends and furry babies. My favorite kind of day. Hope all is going well and sending hugs and love to my dear friends here

Greg enjoyed cashew cherry bourbon ice cream yesterday and I got my fave strawberry and vanilla....yummmmmmm

@missy some good news then? Not getting bad results ( is good!). Pound cake has always been my favorite--and my Mom's old sour creme coffee cake recipe, divine. My sister has Celiac's yet finds the best bakeries in her city and enjoys gorgeous gluten free cakes! While I do not eat a lot of cake, when I have it, I enjoy it. My family would eat cake EVERYDAY if it were available! LOL. That said, I did buy an organic cherry pie today and will bake it tonight. Sucker for cherry pie!!

@marcy please don't work too hard--you need a summer holiday too!

I was all over today--errands and laundry. SO FUN! No time for a ride but I did get in a walk. Saw lots of deer in the hood, and we've had reports of bobcats sunning themselves in the neighbors yards. Lovely warm day. Except for all the trees leaves turning yellow, I'll take this weather. (maybe I just need to wear more yellow jewellery so I blend in!!)

Good morning lovely ladies...happy FriYAY!

@canuk-gal laundry and errands take time from our fun activities...I know because today is our errand and laundry day and lol while I do laundry daily today is sheets and comforter and it's never fun but always feels so good when we finish these chores and getting into bed with freshly laundered sheets and comforter is ohh so nice Glad your weather is cooperating though sad about the leaves turning yellow already. We got very little rain here so far this summer despite a few drencher days and today is one of those days with predicated downpours and storms so perfect (purrrrfect) for a day filled with errands and laundry lol. I guess. I am glad your sister has found yummy substitutes for gluten. I know Greg enjoys delicious gluten free bagels from TJs. I don't feel the need though and just prefer naturally free gluten free foods..big hugs have a great weekend!

OK Greg just came in and said we can go riding in between the rain today so NO errands today lol. But I am doing the sheets

We went cycling yesterday and are going cycling today despite a chance to get wet.
I cannot believe we are well into August already and Halloween decorations are out (not cool at all IMO) and getting emails for back to school stuff. Cmon, summer just started!

@missy yay for a great day. Quick and not terrible news on your lab work, a lovely ride and delicious ice cream. I know, I was relieved I could save the ice cream. Some things are just more important than others.

@canuk-gal sour cream coffee cake sounds marvelous. I have a sour cream blueberry muffin recipe that is quite tasty. Pound cake is quite delicious. Nice to see deer around but not bobcats. Wow, that leaves are turning yellow already. We keep getting rain, every day. I keep wondering who ticket off Mother Nature. Glad you had a lovely day. I am done with work already. Mostly because Marty has a podcast blasting in the living room and I can’t concentrate with that much noise. Oh well. LOL to gourmet hot dogs for supper.

I met a friend for lunch yesterday and then another friend came over here for supper. I ordered in food for us and split a bottle of wine. It was fun.

I spent most of my day working on videos. I only worked seven hours, see I’m cutting back, but only because Marty is distracting me.

Hello Lovelies

Thanks for all the good thoughts, I'm back to normal now, well as normal as I'm going to get

It hasn't been particularly pleasant, but I'm through it thank goodness. No idea what brought it on, got up last Sunday, watered the garden, went in the pool, but late afternoon I started to feel really yuk. I was violently ill in the evening, but felt really dizzy. Fortunately, we had some meclizine, so I started taking that, but it does leave you really zonked.

So glad you've scheduled a date for your cataract surgery @missy, and your latest test results came back speedily and with not too bad news. Great that you've been getting out riding between all the chores, and of course enjoying the scenery and lovely ice cream afterwards. I hope Greg is continuing to stay well leading up to his scan.

Oh no to the leaves turning yellow already @canuk-gal, it's too early. We're still in high sumner here, and it's going to last for the foreseeable future. Our grass, including all the new stuff is brown and crispy, but nothing we can do about it, to your gourmet food, we've just had the same. Just had a hankering for it, because it's not something we usually eat. to bobcats sunning themselves in the neighbourhood.

Only 7 hours @marcy, that's still full time. Glad you got to spend time with friends and had some downtime. In a couple of weeks we'll be in Colorado, and looking forward to meeting up,

Had a long FT with our friends this morning. Their buyer is putting the screws on them at the last moment to reduce their house by 30,000GBP. Naturally, they're very upset as they don't want to lose their new home, which is nearly completion. It's an outrageous situation, and we feel they should hold their nerve and tell their buyer they're putting their house back on the market.

Hopefully, there'll be some resolution early next week, and we're keeping everything crossed it all works out of them.

Nothing going on here this w/e, but we're meeting Kate & John on Tuesday for lunch.

@marcy we have not had a lot of rain--maybe that is why our leaves are turning yellow (actually noticed it mid July...) because of very dry conditions? Nice for having friends to eat with.

I walked the big park today--it was busy!! My DH knee is bothering him so he stayed behind. He is not a good walker at the best of times due to arthritis--and I don't mind at all being on my own. I had a yummy sausage roll from the bakery.... two of my friends got new pets--so sweet little puppy and kitty faces!!!!!! ME LUBS!

I love them. We’ve been driving back and forth between Pa/Maryland/Va..We’re both beat!

Yes, I'm looking forward to meeting up for lunch soon.

@canuk-gal the long walk sounds like a lovely and peaceful time. We had our wettest July since 1979 here. August is starting out pretty wet as well. I did pick up some chances to win the lotto this morning.

@MamaBee I bet you are beat, but the house is looking great. I remember moving in here, I said this is like living in a nice hotel, but it has a lot of us stuff in it.

I met another friend for lunch yesterday. We had a lovely visit. This morning, Marty and I went out for breakfast then went to the grocery store. I am almost done with laundry and did get in my Sunday lifting.

Good luck with all the medical appts this weeks, it’s never ending isn’t it? I haven’t had vertigo for years now, and I’ve really no idea what brought it on, just hope it doesn’t happen again.

Puppies and kittens @canuk-gal - utter perfection. I keep looking at rescue dogs and I’m getting very broody, hopefully next year, when we’ve got our trips out of the way and can find someone nice to look after him/her if we do go away.

Glad you’re making time for yourself @marcy, it’s good to get away from the ‘office’ now and again.

I’ve really got to stop watching crime shows, I woke up twice during the night screaming my head off because I was being held captive and tortured by a psycho

We were out early watering the plants, which, so far, are surviving, then went in the pool. Lazy rest of the day, off to Costco tomorrow.

I hope your appt goes well today @missy, and you got reassurance about your upcoming surgery. Please send us some rain, we’ll gladly accept it!

I can’t remember if I mentioned that I took my bolo diamond bracelet to get repaired weekend before last? Anyway, while I was there, I asked if it was possible to convert it to a bangle, as I was wary of the chains breaking again. He said of course, we discussed things, and he rang me last Monday with a price. I said yes, and I’ve just been to collect it. I’m absolutely thrilled with it, I’d forgotten how pretty it is, and now it’s all clean, it’s an absolute sparkly bomb.

Unfortunately I’ve started a UTI, so I’ve got an appt for tomorrow morning before we go and meet Kate & John for lunch.

It’s hot, hot, hot here!

So I decided to go with the surgeon I saw yesterday. He is not famous in the field as the first surgeon I was considering but he seems more attentive and will do all the followups himself and he spends more time with each patient. Plus a colleague and friend highly recommended him to me and my gut is telling me to go with him. The first surgeon is great but he is the one who saw 180 patients in one day and that means he schedules a lot of surgeries each surgery day. It's too much imo and more of a chance of things going awry despite his excellent surgical skills. Not an easy decision for me plus the second surgeon is over 90 minutes away and the first only 35 minutes but I am not taking that into account and instead just going with my gut on this one.

My parents 60th anniversary is this December and I was thinking of doing something special but not sure what. Any ideas are appreciated.

Today we both have a telemedicine appointment in the AM and not sure if the weather will be cycling friendly. Sort of dark outside right now and may even be raining so we shall see. I hope you all enjoy a terrific Tuesday. Be well. XOXO

@Austina oh no to waking up with bad dreams. I had horrible ones for quite a while after 911. Those things are so unsettling. Our psyche can mess with us even in our sleep. It's good to know your plants are surviving in the heat. We keep getting afternoon rain storms that cool us off quickly. I hate to hear you got a UTI and I hope you get better soon. Your bangle bracelet is gorgeous. I love bangles, but they drive me crazy in a few hours banging on things. I know you'll enjoy wearing it and now it's very secure.

@missy that's great you are going with that one surgeon for your cataracts, he sounds like a good choice for you. I tend to go with my gut reactions a lot. I can't resist my silly joke though - how did you know it was raining cats and dogs - did you step in a poodle? Yes, I am easily entertained. I hope your telemedicine appointment went well today. From what I hear, the doctor I go to is starting in home visits or telemedicine appointments after the end of this year. Interesting. Gorgeous picture of the sunrise. Congratulations to your parents on their 60th anniversary. Something people have been doing around here is a surprise card shower, where they ask everyone to send them a card c/o you so you can surprise them with all the cards and well wishes. It is certainly a big and special occasion.

My SIL is in town for a few weeks. She's staying in her RV about 10 minutes from our house. She managed to scare me yesterday. I saw her outside, then she disappeared so I go out looking for her and she was behind the pillar out there and jumped out and said "boo" and yes, I screamed. I'll get even. She brought a huge stack of laundry over to do today and we ran a few errands when I signed off work this afternoon.

@missy hi sweet Pepsi. She's saying, thank you Missy and Greg taking care of us. Glad you got in a lovely ride and had some delicious ice cream. I dished up some ice cream for Marty last night, but since I'd already brushed my teeth, I passed. I'll make up for it today. I'm grilling burgers for supper and whatever sides my SIL wants, so I'll save room for ice cream.

I got a new video posted as well as one ready to go this morning. I am getting a bit quicker at those things. I am about to take lunch - which my stomach is saying "NOW" - soon. Then will work a few more hours. I need to lift today, but with Marty working in his office that is right by my gym, I hate to go down there too soon.

Hello lovelies

Had a great time with Kate and John yesterday, and tried catfish for the first time! I’m not a big fish eater, but it was lovely.

I got to my Dr’s appt in plenty of time, 9.50 am was the actual time, I didn’t see the Dr until 10.40 That then made us late to meet Kate & John, I did let her know, so they graciously waited for us at the restaurant.

Kate sends her love and a big Hello to everyone.

80 degs sounds perfect @missy, I can’t remember the last time we had day time temps of ‘only’ 80 degs. It was already 86 degs here at 7am. Would you believe it’s actually cooler today ’only’ in the 90’s so far Pepsi’s a pretty little thing, and how cute she was there to greet you.

Your SIL sounds like fun @marcy and the perfect houseguest, in as much as she’s not actually in your house!

Managed to get out of Costco without spending tooooo much and found a quicker way to get there too.

Wow! Just read over a bunch of posts and I've really been out of the loop! My apologies for being MIA. We've had tradesmen here doing a whole bunch of things and it's been exhausting.

Mostly just dropping in to say that Tim has his bronchoscopy and biopsy tomorrow for his lungs. He's been coughing a bit more recently, tho I'm trying to convince myself I'm not really hearing it....

All with me is...ok. Had my Entyvio infusion today - she hit a vein on the third try this time, which was a mercy. The one 8 weeks ago took 2 days and 14 different tries. My poor arms were black and blue!

Ballin is much better - thank you for all the warm thoughts sent his way. Cirrus is perfect, as usual. Eleanor remains the love of my life. I had a wonderful 5 weeks out in LA, which was good for my soul.

@MamaBee - the house looks phenomenal! Is the whole kitchen new?

@missy - surgery? Not loving hearing this, tho hoping it's something...minor? (my experience, tho, is that you don't do "minor", girl!) Warm thoughts heading your way!

@Austina - I asked this in the other thread but you may not have seen it - what is bolo? And I'm loving the bracelet! And ugh! to the bad dreams!

Hello everyone else. Hope all is well. We had a great cycling day yesterday and it will have to hold us for a long while. Rain today, medical appt tomorrow in the middle of the day and rain Saturday. Next week is a washout no matter the weather due to medical appointments and friends visiting. So next week no cycling as far as I see it. But it's OK. We enjoy each day no matter what we do as long as we are together.

Yesterday Greg wanted Cherry Bourbon instead of the blueberry he had been getting and he enjoyed that very much. I had my usual So good

Good luck for Tim tomorrow @mrs-b , hope it all goes well, and is GOOD news. I did reply to you in the other thread, I don’t know why the tag to you didn’t show up. Wow, those 5 weeks have rushed by quickly. Glad the pups are A ok. I have huge veins, like ropes, and they often still can’t manage to get a needle in first try!

Thank you @mrs-b. It’s very comfortable, it’s not a traditional oval bangle, the underside is slightly flatter so it sits really well, and won’t twist and turn. It originally had a chain each side, which threaded through a ring that had a grommet, so was adjustable to fit any size wrist. My wrists are quite small, so the chains dangled quite a bit, hence I kept getting it caught in my steering wheel. That’s how I think I ended up damaging the link which caused the breakage.

Feeling so much better, the ABs are doing their thing. Went in the pool this morning before going out to do the food shopping and fill up the car.

I’ve got a trifle to make this afternoon, we’re going out to lunch with our lovely Colombian neighbours tomorrow. I can’t remember if I told you that she used to have an English friend who made her trifle? I promised I’d get round to making her one, so I’ve finally got the ingredients.
