Now I really did it :((

Hello lovelies

Things are really moving quickly @marcy, it seems no time at all since work started on TBE. They’ve just started on a house here, the slabs been down at least 18 months, but the framing went up in less than 2 days. It’ll be interesting to see how quickly that gets finished. Good idea to always be ready for viewings, that’s the worst part of moving, especially when you know people can’t afford/aren’t interested your home.

Cleopatra is a real beauty @missy, what cute markings she has. So glad your eye is improving, and everything crossed the injections in your hand are keeping things stable. What a relief your asthma is under control now, that must be making a huge difference in your quality of life. So glad you got out cycling yesterday, it’s hotter than hell here!

I have never been this tanned in my life @mrs-b, not because I’m trying, but it’s pretty inevitable living here. We go in the pool, but don’t sit out in the heat, it’s just too hot. I use factor 70 sunscreen and I always wear foundation with SPF to cover my face, otherwise I get freckles and look (even more) hideous! Thankfully our back porch is shady and we have a big overhead fan. Before we had the pool built, we came at different times of the day to see where the sun would be, so early morning and late afternoon, different parts of the pool are in shade. Your garden is looking really pretty and so nice that you have shady areas.

My lovely neighbour called me early yesterday morning, she was very upset after having an extremely unpleasant encounter with another resident. Not only is it HOA rules, it’s also County rules that all dogs must be on a lead, and these particular people have been reminded more than once. One of the dogs ran up to L, and she very politely asked the ‘lady’ to put the dog on the lead. This ‘lady’ then told L to have a nice effing day and called her an effing B*tch! Can you believe it? She picked the wrong person to mess with because L confronted her about her language and the woman’s mother shoved L. She walked away and came home, then rang me. I told her to call the Police a.s.a.p. and lodge a complaint, which she did.

They then came over and we spent a couple of hours in the pool. Later in the afternoon, the ‘lady’s’ husband called round to apologise, and took them a bottle of wine. He agreed that his wife had been extremely rude and her behaviour totally unnecessary. Hopefully that’s the end of it.

L & C invited us out to breakfast this morning, which was lovely. We went in the pool earlier before it got really hot, it’s tipping 100 degs again, phew!

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!!!!!!!

Lovely day , weather wise. I rode in the AM, walked in the PM. Got some sun on my bones (I am in long sleeves tho). Felt so good! Lovely evening. People are out in their kayaks and sail boats. I did suffer with all the fluff in the air, but I'd rather have a runny nose from fluff than -20C. LOL Did the winter weather clothing exchange. Really it takes an hour. :eek-2:

@marcy WOW your house progress is crazy! Well, that just never happens here. Good luck!
@mrs-b you are a treasure. I hope that young man has support at home as well. And your yard is soothing--and stunning!
@missy Miss Cleo is beautiful! She is well loved!
@Austina I think that RUDE really doesn't cover it. Cowards--sending the husband. Good the police made a house call to the morons. Sorry your friend was accosted.

Keep well and safe folks!

cheers--Sharon

Good morning girls and happy terrific Tuesday (that feels to me like Monday lol)!

@marcy good luck! Great photos of the sun..swwoooon. Wishing you a fast and easy sale. Sweet you got all your work completed

@Austina I am sending rain vibes your way. My friend in Las Vegas said temps there were in the mid 90s F and no rain in sight. So I am sending her rain vibes as well. We got lots of rain yesterday. Thunder and lightning. Luckily the wet food shelter Greg built for the kitties kept the food dry. I was amazed because it was super windy so I think it was just luck (direction of the wind). Some of the floor of the shelter got wet but the food remained dry. And the cats were out in between the storms to eat.

How upsetting and I am sorry your neighbor experienced that uncivilized behavior. I do not know what is wrong with people but to say they are stupid and mentally unwell to behave that way and what I am observing all over the world. Barbarians is all I can say, I feel sorry for her dog. Stay cool and comfy

@bling_dream19 that dress is TDF catlicious! LOL I love it.

@canuk-gal I love feeling the sun on my body despite the fact my body doesn't usually like the sun based on the reaction I have to it. But I still love the feeling. Hope you enjoy more sun than not this week

@Slickk hope you enjoyed a terrific holiday weekend and yay for a shorter work week

We had some storms roll through most of the day yesterday with lightning and thunder. We went shopping at the outdoor outlet (our part for helping the economy lol) and I got a few things as did Greg. We managed not to get soaking wet but oh boy there were some soakers out there while we were shopping. Today looks to be a cycling day woohoo. Enjoy a terrific Tuesday lovely ladies. XOXO

May the day be bright and full of beauty born from the storms experienced

Hello lovelies

Thank you for the rain vibes @missy - it worked! We got up early and got the grass cut, and I killed one of the irrigation covers in the lawn, so we went out to get another. In the couple of minutes we were in Home Depot, the sky turned pitch black, so we raced home and then it rained for a few minutes.

Glad the covered shelter is working out so well for the kitties. I have a feeling if I’d been with L, that woman wouldn’t have launched that foul mouth tirade at her. Great photo at the shore!

Glad the weather is improving @canuk-gal, even though the heat can be stifling, I’d rather that than the cold and damp.

Here you go @mrs-b, awful photo, I need a hair cut and to lose some weight, but hopefully you can see that even with SPF 70, I’ve still caught the sun.

IMG_1295.jpeg

Sun’s out, so we’re going in the pool.

Keep safe and well lovely NIRDIs. :wavey:

@Austina - I think you look fabulous - very casual-glam. And that TAN! The whole thing is a great look on you. And as for the neighbor experience - all civility has been lost, from what I can see.

@marcy - when it your first open house? I know today is D-Day. I hope all goes well for you and the offers come hard and fast!

@canuk-gal - SO glad you got out in the sun yesterday, long sleeves or not! Thank you for your kind words re my garden - I do try and I love my garden!

@missy - is Greg's angiogram in the morning or afternoon? My gastro appt is in the afternoon and I'll be thinking of him. And yay for cycling today!

Much love to everyone else and I hope everyone is well!

As i mentioned, tomorrow is my appt with my gastro. I have an idea of what might be going on, but we'll see what she says. I used to think she was terrific, but over the years I've come to see her as a bit of a one trick pony; she treats my Crohn's, but nothing else, and I DEFINITELY have something else. So we'll see if she addresses the issues tomorrow; I'm prepared to push this time.

NIRDI shout out!

You look fabulous! What I wouldn't give for that complexion.

Hi NIRDI’s!

@Austina TBE is moving along. Quickly. There’s a huge house being built along the route we take to TBE, we are enjoying watching its progress. We had someone want to see the house today. I was trying to get ready for that livestream for work and had to stop and take care of things. What A PITA. Glad I worked on getting spots open already. That was a big help. I also dug out some of the small storage bins we have and put one in each open cupboard. I’ll have it down to a science soon. I use the same SPF sunscreen too. I burn really easy. Wow, what an awful thing to happen to your neighbor. Some people can be so nasty. I am glad she called the police. That’s nice of her husband to apologize, but tacky she didn’t. You look fabulous, thanks for the pictures.

@canuk-gal I am glad you had a lovely day and enjoyed it. It was pretty nice here too. We had some rain a while ago, but not much.

@missy nice rainbow shot. We had a short one just a while ago, after our brief thunderstorm. Glad you got to cycle. A day at the outlet mall sounds fun. The one closest to us in Colorado is pretty empty now. I liked some of their stores.

@mrs-b civility certainly has taken a back seat these day. Pretty sad. There’s an open house this Saturday. And someone wanted to see our house today. Their realtor said they liked the house but weren’t ready to make a decision yet. I was getting ready for my livestream for work when we got the text. I had to get up and hide things. Good luck with your appointment tomorrow.

Today was strange, work, leaving the house for a while then more work. We drove out to TBE first, then stopped at a nursery to look at trees and had lunch. Good thing our outside cameras give us alerts, no one ever told us we could come home.

Take care.
Marcy

Good morning girls! Happy wonderful Wednesday!

@Austina girl, you look gorgeous for any age. You rock! Glad the rain vibes worked haha. Our ferals love laying in the lawn so now we have to run the sprinklers in the middle of the night though at this point in time we are not running them since we have had so much rain. Have a wonderful Wednesday lovely lady XOXO

@mrs-b the CAA is at 7:30AM today. I am nervous but Greg is not. Good luck with your appointment and I hope they figure it out. Super frustrating when you know something else is going on and the doctors can't figure it out. And girl, I know exactly what you mean. I have a few of those doctors too who were impressive at first but then I realized it was the same old same old...good at one thing and one thing only...hugs and good luck

@marcy TBE is going so fast...before you know it...hope today is a good day and that yesterday's strangeness wasn't too weird and yes we like our security cameras too...we can monitor things from anywhere. Always a good thing. But our neighbors are great too and we all look out for each other

@canuk-gal hope your week is going well XOXO

@Slickk woohoo not that much longer now and summer weather seems to be here...hope you are having a good week

@bling_dream19 hope you are enjoying the spring/summer weather and all is well

@MamaBee keeping you in my thoughts daily and sending much love and many healing wishes

Hello everyone else. Yesterday was fun. Cycled, enjoyed ice cream, furry babies and friends. A purrrrrrfect day. This AM Greg has a CAA so I am nervous and if all goes well we will be cycling later. Have a wonderful Wednesday lovely ladies. XOXO

@missy - thinking of you and Greg and hoping his procedure is over and he's out of recovery. I hope everything went smoothly. When does he get the results? And did you have to drive both of you to and from?

Thinking of you.... <3

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!

Decent weather day but winds a bit gusty. Did errands and went for a walk. Nothing too exciting.

@missy hope Greg's test went without a hitch. Loved seeing your beach photos. Hope your folks are well.
@marcy good luck on selling your place!
@mrs-b hope you are feeling better
@Austina you look fabu! And tanned. I'm really looking forward to Palm Spring the heat and the pool. Hope it doesn't exacerbate my eczema. I had no issues when in Hawaii last year so hope it is the same this year.

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

Wow, you ladies, thank you so much for the fabulous compliments, you’re all too kind @springerspaniel @Calliecake @marcy @missy and @canuk-gal - you really know how to boost an ego!

@missy, I hope everything went well today for Greg and that he got through the procedure smoothly. Did manage to go cycling this afternoon? How’re your parents doing, hopefully managing and your Dad isn’t in any pain?

What a pain @marcy, let’s hope you get a buyer this weekend so you don’t have to go through more viewings and disruptions. This job is really stretching your talents isn’t it?

How are you and the puppies @springerspaniel?

How’re you feeling @mrs-b, has the infusion calmed things down?

I had a flare up of eczema on my next a couple of weeks ago @canuk-gal no idea what caused it, but the heat certainly didn’t make it any worse, so fingers crossed, you’ll be fine on your hols.

We both had our 6 monthly dental check-ups today, we’re so lucky to have found such a good dentist, and right on our doorstep too. We went in the pool after lunch. Thankfully it’s a bit cooler today, so the pool wasn’t as hot! We’ve just got back from Trivia, it was just the two of us on our team today, and apart from the music round, we didn’t do too badly.

The usual shopping for us tomorrow, very low score on the old thrill-o-meter

Hi NIRDI’s!

Hi @Calliecake. I hope you are doing well.

@missy I am so glad you had a purrrrfect day. Sweet. You can’t be a good security system and good neighbors. I want Marty to add an all-sky camera at TBE so it can catch meteors. I hope Greg’s procedure went well.

@mrs-b and @springerspaniel - Hi to you both!

@canuk-gal your vacation sounds awesome.

@Austina we are having an open house on Saturday. Maybe that perfect buyer will show up that day. It took me so much time yesterday to put things away, that I did a lot of it this morning. And you guessed it, no one wanted to look at the house today. And yes, this job it teaching this old lady new tricks. I am working on figuring out how to record myself with audio to do a picture-in-picture in my video. Marty had to help and I am going to look for a webcam so I don’t have to use my phone or my new camera. I can disconnect my laptop from the monitor and use that, but then I have to move to another spot or move my monitor out of the way. You had a busy day. It’s always good to find a good dentist. Ours is retiring, I haven’t met his replacement yet. Glad your thrill-o-meter won’t be pegging tomorrow. I hope mine is the same.

My day was the same. Work and knitting. Marty has to work late tonight so he went to bed early in one of the spare bedrooms. I’ll have to be quiet in the morning so I don’t wake him up.

Take care.
Marcy

Good morning lovely ladies!!! Happy terrific Thursday!

@mrs-b I hope the infusion is working well and each day you are feeling better...sending big hugs and lots of healing wishes. There was a minor blip with the procedure because Greg's pulse was 75 and it has to be below 60 to do the CAA. They gave him pills but it wasn't enough so they gave him IV nitroglycerin to get the pulse down. Otherwise it went smoothly. Unfortunately he has mild disease so now the question is what med to try next. He did not do well with the combo the cardiologist initially put him on so he is going to try taking Crestor alone and we shall see. He cannot do better regarding diet and exercise and this is mainly genetics. His mom had heart disease and both his younger brothers are on Crestor. Aging is not for sissies. No way. But it beats the alternative lol. And this is why I persist in making sure Greg is being cared for and monitored because I want him around as long as possible. I OTOH am overly saturated with medical tests etc and have been putting off labs due now. In fact I had a lab appointment this AM and just canceled it. I know I have to do blood work because especially of my low phosphorus as that can become a critical situation fast but girl, I am tired. So right now I am postponing all my health stuff while focusing on my DH and I need the respite from my medical things and I know you get it. Lots of love to you sweet friend XOXO

@canuk-gal thank you. Palm Springs sounds so lovely and I hope it does not flare your eczema. I find my eczema flares in the winter more so than the summer but I know we are all different. Enjoy a wonderful day XOXO

@marcy HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Wishing you a very happy day filled with everything you love and enjoy...sending lots of love and happy birthday wishes the whole year through XOXO

@Austina thanks for asking. They are taking it one day at a time and I do feel my dad is making progress albeit slowly. Very slowly. Glad you found a good dentist...we have one too and when she retires I have no clue where we will go. Finding an excellent dentist is not easy. Glad you enjoyed trivia and have fun shopping. I think that is on our agenda today as it is raining and we are running low on produce. Big hugs

@Slickk hope your week is going well and you are looking forward to a wonderful weekend XOXO

@bling_dream19 I need something to wear to my dh's cousin's 70th birthday party combined with family reunion in a few weeks. I have nothing that looks good. LOL. I am laughing because it's always the same story. So many clothes but when a nice occasion pops up I feel like I have nothing decent to wear. That cat dress is calling my name haha but I must resist. Hope you are having a splendid week and sending you lots of love and well wishes XOXO

Hi everyone else. The weather was great yesterday again and today is rainy but I cannot complain. I am a bad girl because I didn't run labs today like I should have and might have to postpone my medical appointment that is coming up because I need to do blood work first. I really am tired of doing labs and seeing drs and just want a bit of time out from it all. My eye is a little swollen again so I am once again applying hot compresses. I am sure it is the Dupixent but right now I am continuing with it as it has been a life saver. Today is rain so running errands and dropping off some stool samples from both Greg and me as ordered by our gastro. The fun never ends lol. But hey we're here and we are enjoying life and that's what matters. One day at a time. As my dear girlfriend says we are living our best life. And we are indeed. Sending all of my sweet friends here lots of love and big hugs and all good things. XOXO

@Slickk happy almost weekend woohoo...and yay for summer vacation almost being here

@bling_dream19 big hugs and lots of love being sent your way

@MamaBee continued healing vibes and lots of love and keeping you in my thoughts daily

@Austina hope your weather has cooled down somewhat

@canuk-gal hope you are enjoying cycling and some good weather

@mrs-b big hugs

@springerspaniel thinking of you and hoping all is going smoothly

Hi everyone else...hope all is well

We actually went cycling yesterday because the rain stopped early yay. And it was a GORGEOUS day. Felt like fall even. Today is the same. Last night I had another marathon zoom with my girlfriends and it was so nice. The days and nights are flying by and I just want to slow it all down and drink it in and be in the moment.

Wishing you all a terrific FriYAY filled with yay and all good things. Lots of love and big hugs to my sweet friends here...XOXO

Good morning lovely ladies! Happy Caturday Saturday!

Yesterday was another gorgeous weather day. Just stunning.
We saw our friends both furry and human and enjoyed ice cream and the beautiful sea air and it was a purrrrfect friYAY.
Today is supposed to be another gorgeous weather day

Unfortunately yesterday AM Greg found a small crack in the frame (again) but he said it was safe to ride so we did. And after dinner last night he worked on the bike to replace the frame (we have a spare thank goodness) and after 6 hours working on it all night (he didn't come to bed til after midnight) he still has some work left to do on the bike this AM. It is very fortunate he is mechanic handy. But it is very labor intensive on such a big bike. The biggest issue is how to prevent this from happening again as we have no more spare frames and the manufacturer will not sell a frame separately. Some of the roads we travel are somewhat rough and the bike takes a beating.

@Slickk we know what is truly important in life and for that I am so grateful...to have perspective and wisdom and clarity. Thank you for your unwavering friendship and support and right back at ya (((HUGS))) Wishing you a wonderful weekend filled with lots of joy, fun and love

@marcy hope you had a fun birthday and are continuing the celebration this weekend XOXO

@bling_dream19 happy weekend sweet friend...hope whatever is on your agenda is lots of fun (((Hugs)))

@Austina hope your weather is cooling down and you are enjoying a lovely weekend XOXO

@canuk-gal another cycling calamity for us LOL...this is what we get with a tandem that is super heavy...twice in 18 months. But hopefully we will be on the road this morning again and hope you are having a good weekend with cycling fun involved as well

Hello @mrs-b @springerspaniel @MamaBee and everyone else. Keeping good thoughts for all who need it...hope you are all well

LOLOLOLOL
May your Caturday Saturday be fiercely fantastic
XOXOXOXO

@missy - Princess Grace looks like the service was below par, wherever she is! Step it up, pls! I'm glad Greg was able to get his procedure - those procedures are a lot. And I vote YES to you having some time off from the drs. You know I get what you mean when you talk about needing a rest; sometimes you start to feel as tho all you are is a patient, not a person. You are so much more than the sum total of your conditions and ailments - so I vote - time off!

@marcy - thinking of you a lot today as you do your first open house. I hope all goes swimmingly, and that someone sees it, loves it, and just can't live without it! Good luck! And happy belated birthday - and my apologies for being off the pace!

@Austina - you make me chuckle! The "thrill-o-meter"?? Love it!! Is it a weekend of pool-ing? Temps are picking up everywhere, so I'm guessing the water is warm. Does it ever get *too* warm? Like - not cooling any more, more like a bath? I can imagine that happening.... Anyway, I hope your weekend is a good one.

@canuk-gal - when is Palm Spring? I hope it gives you no eczema probs and that your time away is wonderful. How long are you going for?

Love and hugs to @bling_dream19, @springerspaniel, @MamaBee and @Slickk and hopes that all is going well with you all. <3

As for me, I saw the gastro on Wednesday - hmmmm. She thinks it's either stones in my bile duct causing inflammation and chronic low grade pancreatitis, or something growing. So I've started a barrage of tests - starting with bloods yesterday, which showed high blood glucose, but were otherwise clear. I've been on high steroids for 2 months now, and that just messes with my glucose big time. So I think I'm going to go back to keto (sigh) and intermittent fasting (double sigh). It's worth it tho - the damage caused by high glucose is systems-wide and ugly. My eyes are slightly yellow also, and my skin is itchy, so it's looking like it's definitely something to do with my bile duct and my pancreas. Oh yay. (I am so freaking tired, I just can't put it into words).

And where is my new jewelry?? If ever a girl needed new jewelry, it's me, right now!! I'm working on something like 5 projects with DKJ at the moment, and none of them have arrived as yet. <sulk>

On the upside, David arrives today, which will be enjoyable, and we're going to go driving around CT, looking at general areas for him to live when he moves next year.

Eleanor is on her 4th date with a young man she seems to like. She's very picky and can afford to be, so we'll see if he cuts the mustard over the next month or two.

Hoping everyone is well and having a fabulous Saturday. And @missy, Cirrus and Ballin want you to know that they very much object to the entire concept of Caturday Saturday and believe there should be much more talk about dog day afternoons! Especially in summer. If you ask me, all our pets are very spoiled!!

Shout out to all the lovely NIRDIs!

Hello lovelies

Ugh, sorry you’ve got other issues @mrs-b, I hope your change of diet helps to alleviate the problem. Yes, the pool does get ‘too hot’, the other day it was 96, and felt very much like a bath. It’s a toss up between keeping the solar cover on to prevent evaporation, which inevitably makes it warm, or waste water on constantly topping it up. So we opt for keeping the cover on.

I’m not surprised you want a break from all the medical appointments @missy, it’s just too much. As long as you feel OKish, and don’t feel the need for now, you know your body better than anyone else. How’s Greg feeling? Any plans to see your parents this weekend?

Fingers crossed for a good buyer this weekend @marcy, wouldn’t it be great if you only have to have one open house weekend?

How’re things with you @canuk-gal ?

We had a terrific storm yesterday morning, much needed rain and it helped cooled things down. It was lovely in the pool without the sun beating down, and also means Colin doesn’t have to water this weekend.

Another slightly cooler day today, it’s a nice respite because temps are going to back up in to upper 90’s this coming week.

Have a lovely weekend NIRDIs :wavey:

Hi NIRDI’s! Thank you all for the birthday wishes. I appreciate it.

@missy I hate to hear they had to bring down Greg’s heart rate for that procedure, I hope the different medicine works for him. I get that on just waiting to doing something. Keeping you both in my thoughts. Excellent plan, to live and be in the moment. Sounds like you are having good weather. It was pretty nice here today. I hate to hear the tandem needs repair again, I am so glad Greg is so handy with everything.

@mrs-b the realtor said the open house went great. A lot of people did come look and she felt a few families were interested. We had another family want to come at 4 p.m. We got an offer from a couple that looked twice on Thursday, but it was a low offer. They wouldn’t wait until after the open house for a response, so we counter offered and haven’t heard anything back. Good luck with your gastro this week. I can’t wait to see your new jewelry projects. Have fun looking at houses that David likes. I am sure Eleanor will find the right guy and maybe this one is him.

@Austina darn the pool gets too hot. Good deal you got some rain and it cooled off a bit.

We went to dinner on Thursday for my birthday. TBE had the right garage door all the way open and the door going in to the house wide open that night. No one was in sight, but the houses around ours that are being built by that guy had workers so we hoped - or assumed - they’d take care of it. We ran out there after breakfast today and the garage door was down halfway and crooked. And the door going in to the house was still wide open. Grr. So we told our realtor who contacted the builder. Their response was a door rail is bent and it’s an easy fix. No response why the door to the house was open. We went back to look and the garage door has about a 12” gap at the bottom and we couldn’t tell from the street if the door inside was closed. Kind of ticks me off since the flooring and cabinets are inside already.

We met some friends for lunch in Colorado today and did a little shopping Marty is looking at tractors for mowing and snow removal.

Take care.
Marcy

Good morning lovely ladies! Happy big and small dog Sunday!!!

@marcy I am glad you enjoyed a lovely birthday and went out to dinner. I am not happy to hear about the TBE issues but I know it will all be remediated. I also know in the meantime it is aggravating and I would feel the same way. Not the same thing but when we were gut renovating our Brooklyn apartment the workmen had spilled red paint all over our freshly laid expensive wood floors. And they left for the night. I was checking on things every day and after work went to the apartment and lost it. Called Greg who was still at work and he called Michael and gave it to him lol. Long story short they cleaned it up first thing in the AM and it was good as new as Michael had promised. But still. Don't leave freshly spilled paint over a brand new (and very expensive) wood floor. We had this wood imported specifically because Greg wanted this hardwood. All this to say I get it and feel for you and hope it is all fixed very soon. Smart of Marty to start now looking at tractors for mowing and snow removal. Good to get ahead of it especially in Wyoming! :) Sending lots of love and big hugs your way

@mrs-b I dedicate today to Big and Small Dog Sunday!!! Tell Cirrus and Ballin this is their day every Sunday and we will be honoring them from here on in! My bad for not doing it before. Big big hugs and lots of love to your sweet pups. And thank you...yes that's it completely. You start feeling like a person who's not healthy when in reality we are...we just have medical issues that do not rule us and do not define us. I know you get it. I am sorry we are both dealing with some heavy things but we are living our best life as my friend N always says to me :) Here's to living our best life each and every day...big hugs and lots of love

@Austina glad you got significant rain and things have cooled down and that Colin didn't have to water the lawn. Hopefully the 90s coming won't last too long. Our good weather is hanging around today too and I am not complaining. I am very happy when we are cycling and like I always say...the worst day on the bike beats the best day not on the bike. LOL..As long as I don't break anymore bones that is! XOXO

@Slickk happy Sunday..hope you are enjoying a terrific weekend XOXO

@bling_dream19 good morning...I hope you are having a wonderful weekend..big hugs and lots of love

Hello everyone else. We went cycling with the new frame yesterday. Greg is a whiz. It took him 8 hours to take the bike apart and put it back together with the new frame. Sheesh. We only got 18 months out of the last frame. Not good. So we are investigating options if this happens again. Greg is contacting welders to see if they can weld the crack. It's one thing he does not know how to do. Let's hope that is an option.

Today is another cycling day and we are looking forward to it. Pepsi, Dr Pepper and Fresca have been meeting me every morning at 5AM waiting patiently for their wet food. It brings such joy to me seeing their sweet little faces every morning. And afternoon and evening. I pray they remain well and safe.

Look at sweet Pepsi last night. Chilling out in the backyard

GM girls! Happy marvelous Monday!
Just a quick fly by post. Did lab work this morning despite wanting a break I just decided to do it since I have an appointment with one of my specialists next Monday. I hope the results will be back by then. No guarantee and it’s my fault for procrastinating. Should have done these labs 7 days ago. Yesterday we went cycling and it was another gorgeous day. Today is warmer with chance of thunderstorms but we’re going for it and hopefully will have another lovely cycling day. Leaving you with a few photos from yesterday. Enjoy a most marvelous Monday lovely ladies ♥️

Sweet beautiful Fresca. :kiss2:

Yesterday we went to our original ice cream shoppe. To say hello to Tom and Dave and I enjoyed mango and raspberry sorbet and Greg had cherry vanilla ice cream. Delish.

And this morning after I fed the feral kitties ♥️
Pepsi is the most courageous. She looks right at me. I hope she knows I’m a friend

Big hugs to my sweet friends ♥️

Happy Memorial Day, everyone!

Wow, @marcy - so exciting! And SO much happening! Wishing you SO much good luck as you sell your current house! And I Love the idea of making little hidey-holes in your current house to hide things suddenly if you have a showing; that's a great idea!

@canuk-gal - agree with you - moist ground is good ground! Glad it's time to put the coats all away - at least for the next few months! And so nice that you're out walking and riding and going to the park - hail notwithstanding! (Good lord!!)

So @Austina, I wanted to ask you, with your fair English skin, how is your tan going in the Texan sun?? With day after day by the pool, and you going a full on brown, or are you assiduous with sun screen? You're an old hand at this point, I realize, but, living in Australia, our experience of English tourists is that they had no idea how to handle the antipodean sun and would get burnt a whole heap. You haven't been a tourist for a long, long time - but you must have still had that beautiful English skin when you first moved; have you tried to maintain that, or have you abandoned that and given way to the inevitable? I hope you and Colin have a lovely Memorial Day with friends and/or by the pool!

@missy - thinking of your poor eye!, but YAY to having a diagnosis! And well done you for being ahead of the game in this regard! How is your asthma doing and how are your hands holding up? Your cats look SO great (and I LOVE the little face at the door!!) and I'm so glad you and Greg have been getting out to go cycling. The weather sounds like it's been delicious, tho, like me, rain scheduled all day today. Blerk!

Things here in Boston are pretty busy. Arrived home Monday night, infusion Tuesday and wiped off my feet the rest of the day. Tried to push myself to do things on Wednesday and ended up in bed most of Thursday. A friend of Eleanor's arrived on Friday evening - so it was a trip to the airport to get him. He's a lovely young man and one of the few friends she's kept after graduation, and he's been having a tough time, so he and I had a long chat on the phone a couple of weeks ago and I invited him out to Boston. He, very sensibly, accepted, so I had to be on my game as I knew this was basically figuring as 3 days of therapy for him - which it was. Lots of long conversations, planned activities, exercise, good food and lots of sleep. Tim is currently dropping him at the airport (5.30am), and I'm hoping he's left in better condition than he arrived; he's very precious.

Since I was away since the weather was bad and the ground hard, all the pots in the back yard hadn't been done before I left. So the day before yesterday we prepped all the pots and yesterday we went to the plant shop and bought all the plants we needed to plant. We were still a few short, so today we're going again to get the last few, then home to plant and the back courtyard will be done. That always signals spring to me and the start of the outdoor season; that time when I make my outside space pretty. :) The larger garden has all been prepped, fed, mulched and mowed and is looking beautiful, which I find hugely restful.

David arrives next Saturday. He bought tickets to do the final walk through and sign the final contracts on the house he was buying in MA - then ended up pulling out. The sellers had a BAD REA who gave them some terrible advice. After the building inspection report, there were 10 things that obviously needed doing (water damage, mold, asbestos, a bad roof, leaking pipes, and on and on) - or should have been done well before now. David, generously, said he'd do 6 of them and asked the sellers to do the remaining four. They got back to him and said they'd do ONE, he could do NINE, and that (this in the REA's stupid, stupid words) "I'm sure you'll agree that's more than generous." Well, we didn't think it was more than generous - or even logical - and David decided that he and the sellers were too far apart, and he pulled out. OF COURSE, the sellers immediately responded that they'd do all 4 things he'd asked, but David isn't that sort of person, and said he felt he was being milked and, ergo, no thanks. So now he's got a different plan - which actually involves moving out here mid next year rather than the end of next year, and is fine with that. I'm thinking that the sellers' REA flunked Negotiation 101!

Tim's back is a little better, tho he had his MRI and we're still waiting for the results. I see the gastro on Wednesday after a really difficult 2 months, and want her to send me for an MRI of my bile duct. I had my gall bladder removed in my late 30's, having been told by the surgeon that he "knew for sure" it was full of gall stones after I had some very specific upper right quadrant pain. Took out my gall bladder - clean as a whistle! Had my first bought of pain in the recovery room after the surgery! So - clearly not my gall bladder. Pain has continued and amplified over time, and now radiates into my back, so I'm going to ask them to check for bile duct stones. I have to remind myself that aging is better than the alternative!!

@bling_dream19, @Slickk, @springerspaniel and @MamaBee - thinking of you all and sending hugs and much love! Slickk - how many days now?!!

Happy Memorial Day to you all!

Love love love the red patio furniture!

Love love love the red patio furniture!

Thank you @lambskin! I bought the pieces one at a time then had them stripped back and re-powder coated. It's a really rich red! ::)

And @missy - Ballin and Cirrus Very Much Approve of Big and Small Dog Sunday!! Cirrus is currently at my feet, sleeping with his head on my extraordinarily expensive handbag, and Ballin is asleep next to me on the sofa, so, clearly, they're worn out with excitement! Silly little duffers.... <3

Here they are as of right now....

Love to all!

ETA Can I just add - last week I was feeling so "off", I wasn't able to do very much. As a result, I was feeling very unproductive, so, to off-set that feeling - I finished all the Christmas and birthday shopping for 2024. Yay!

Hello lovelies

That’s a positive start @marcy, hopefully the low ballers will come back with an acceptable offer, and maybe those who came to the open house will have had time to see if their finances will make it possible to buy your place. Honestly, when we used to come up to see the house, it was always open, they only started locking it up once the appliances were in. Prior to that, we were amazed how much stuff was in the garage and the house and it was open to all and sundry. Glad you had a nice meal out to celebrate your birthday.

 I have you beaten @mrs-b, I had my birthday and Christmas shopping done in March. To be fair, we only buy gifts for the little boy next door, and I got those at Heathrow on our way home. Glad you’re feeling a little perkier now, and lovely photos of the boys.

Oh yum @missy, I love mango and raspberry and the sorbets look :lickout: So glad you’ve had great weather for cycling this weekend. Fingers crossed your lab work comes back quickly for your appt next week. I wonder you have any blood left with the amount they take. What great kitty photos and Pepsi is such a little beauty.

Hope you had a lovely weekend @canuk-gal and you too @lambskin.

We’ve had a quiet weekend (what other kind is there?) spent time in the pool, and got up early to get the lawns cut today. We had a lot of rain over the weekend but it was early morning and late night, so didn’t affect our enjoyment of the pool.

Nothing on the cards for this week, other than trying to get a hose off the bib without snapping it off the wall, cleaning the big filter on the pool equipment and cleaning the septic filter. It’s all fun and excitement here!!!!

Thinking of you @MamaBee and hoping things are improving.

Has school broken up yet @Slickk?

:wavey:

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!

Steady weekend--but nothing too exciting. Kept busy cycling, walking, went to the big park and took a boat ride. The weather has been decent--but always time for a rain shower. LOL. It is pouring now, but that is OK as it is time for bed soon. Did have a decent ride today and a walk. 20C No shifts this week and last week the one I had was cancelled. Anyway.

@missy good luck on bloodwork outcomes. Your temps are high! Wow. Sorry about your bike frame--and only with 18 months of use. You do ride a lot tho.
@mrs-b hope your new jewels come soon. What is it they say about a watch pot?
@Austina not sure how long I could sit in a very warm pool. But glad you are enjoying it.
@marcy hope your homes sells without a hitch.
@Slickk how many days til summer freedom??
@MamaBee hope you are doing well. Keep well and in touch.

cheers--Sharon

Good morning girls!

@canuk-gal thank you! Greg is visiting a welder Thursday AM and he will see if it is possible. He spoke with him on the phone but they need to see it in person. It's a longish trip but fingers crossed they can weld it back or else I am unsure what we will do because I feel this is bound to happen again. Greg also has been doing work for a local bike shop fixing bikes and building wheels (he loves working on bikes) and the owner is going to see if he can source a frame even though the manufacturer does not sell frames by themselves. The bike has gotten very pricey so we can't keep buying new bikes. LOL. I mean we can but we do not want to!

Sweeet your weekend included cycling and walking and beautiful weather and a boat ride. I love boats. Hope the evening rain turns to morning sun and yay for no work this week. Greg is probably retiring this year and we are both looking forward to it...though I am concerned about health insurance

The frame's crack this time

Screen Shot 2024-06-04 at 6.29.10 AM.png

The frame's crack in 2022 (was worse but probably because we caught it later)

Screen Shot 2024-06-04 at 6.33.38 AM.png

Anyway the new frame on the bike is working beautifully and let's hope it lasts.

@mrs-b awwww I love Cirrus and Ballin..they are so sweet. Please hug and kiss them from their Auntie Missy and big hugs to you too
Wow to finishing all the Christmas and birthday shopping..very impressed!

@Austina thank you and lol I know right? But yesterday was just a few tubes of blood because I chose to only do one set vs the three other lab slips I have from other doctors. I am waiting to do those. Pepsi is so gorgeous and all of them are precious. They have a special place in my heart and I love them just as much as our house kitties. They didn't get lucky in life being born outdoors and feral but I will do all I can to make their (hard) life easier. I am glad you are enjoying the pool. It's a purrrrfect way to cool off...and yay for rain at night. That's the best time for it to rain. And wow to you finishing all your holiday shopping. I am amazed at both you and @mrs-b . If I started now I would forget what I got and probably rebuy gifts. Cause I am not organized like that and I have done that before. LOL

@Slickk I know you must be counting down the days...my niece's graduation isn't til the end of the month..so late compared to here

@bling_dream19 big hugs and lots of love

@MamaBee thinking of you dear friend. Sending so many healing vibes

@marcy my fingers are crossed for a successful sale and an easy transition

@springerspaniel hope your almost summer is going well...please let it go slower than last summer lol

Hello @lambskin

Hi everyone else. Hope all is well. Cycling again today. But first Tommy does blood work at the veterinarian. I was so spoiled with my sister because blood work was free (under vet's cat) but now it costs us over 300$ just to do labs for sweet Tommy...praying his labs have improved since we increased the med dose. We've been chasing his labs back and forth for a very long time now. He is elderly and it is just more challenging. I love him so much. When he wants to be kissed he puts his head into my face so I can kiss his forehead. It is such a sweet gesture and I am always kissing him. Because he is always putting his head in my face to get kissed. He is very kissable.

Leaving you with a few photos from yesterday...enjoy a terrific Tuesday lovely ladies...XOXO

Tommy loves hanging out in boxes and such lol
Here he is laying on Greg's cycling stuff
