Now I really did it :((

Missy I'll be back later but wishing you tons of luck for relief today. ((((hugs))))

One thing: make SURE you enjoy the drive in with Greg. Keep that separate from the appointment and all the problems. <3 Just grab his hand and hold on tight. <3

Happy Friday! It has been a long ring journey but ya'll NIRDI ladies have been with me since gosh... last summer. I'm a bit shy about this.... I can only imagine if people start asking me in person....gulp.... but I would like to introduce my 10 year anniversary ring! The end result is more than what I dreamed it would be as I wasn't sure how the elongated french cuts would look on the cathedral arm. The stone facets are so interesting and @missy really did a great job scoping it out for me. Also, many thank yous to @LLJsmom for her guidance on the stone and setting input as well! I'm an old cut lover converter! I feel so lucky and blessed. Only down side is that my 9 year anniversary is next month so DH said I can have the french cut band (I wear it as RHR) and the e-ring doesn't come until next year. He's going to hide the e-ring and I don't even get to peep at it! Good thing I'm a patient lady and really want to commemorate a wonderful life event. As much as I say praises about this ring, the real compliments go to my DH who will never be on PS let alone read this post. DH is the love of my life and my best friend, whom I never tire of. I no longer see my own identity and live for us. DH is my supporter, provider, and protector. A selfless man that I look up to and can't wait to serve him for the rest of my life. Cheers to our upcoming anniversary and looking forward to so many more years to come. Ok guys, I better stop, I'm tearing up. Thanks for letting me share and have a great weekend!

@missy – Thanks again for the input on the Jeffersonian party. Not sure yet on the timing as we rotate between meeting just with girls or with the whole group that includes guys. All I know it’s my turn next to host the girls so I’m getting the timing nailed down.

DH is healing up well but he did show me closely his two ankles. One is definitely much bigger than the other but it has only been a week.

Oh just read your other post… Hashimotos is something that Phoenix has I believe. You might want to ask her about it? Good luck again with the appointment today!!! Big thumbs up to Greg super husband!

@Sunstorm – How wonderful to hear that you went into the industry because it’s what you love doing. I really admire people who go after life and take it by the bull horns. I’m a bit risk adverse or not as bold and have dreams of completely switching but I think as of right now I feel that I’m at a really good place and make the most of my personal time. Are you allowed to share who you work for? Do you love it? I hope you get discounts for yourself or can claim the best stones?!!? Haha : )

We have similar hobbies of traveling. Any place you are shooting for this year? I’m making a trip to Taiwan to see my mom and will visit another place along with it but haven’t narrowed it down yet. Maybe Indonesia but I have some hesitations.

@Austina – Funny you should ask about the ring… I’ve been a bit shy about it since I received it and made a few changes. Wasn’t sure how things would turn out and sweet Missy kept me calm… my eyes are not trusting and as discernable as I would like and I don’t really envision it until it’s on my hand. With a few tweaks, I can say that I’m in love with the ring and glad we incorporate the French cut! It feels like “me” and gosh I’ve gotten used to the size already. Anyhow, I’m making myself gush but I’m really pleased and feel so lucky and blessed to have something so beautiful on my finger that represents something to me and my DH.

Enough about my ring though…. Looking forward to your bangle!!! I haven’t delved into that part of my body to adorn and accessories so you are on top of the game!

Beautiful photo of St Kitts! The colors…. : )

@junebug17 – Sorry to hear that your DH hasn’t been feeling well. Hope it’s not anything severe like the flu. Maybe just needs some TLC from you and will be back to normal. May it not disrupt your weekend time together!

@marcy – We don’t give the cleaning lady a key but I leave it somewhere outside so they can get in. I know our neighbors have a keyless entry where you can download an app and push a button and get in. I think that would be confusing to our cleaning person so didn’t go that route.

Oh wow… good luck to Marty studying for CPR classes. Way to be a supportive and good wife. You are so kind. Hope the new changes work out for him. By the way, what does Marty thing about Cross Fit? Is that more of the training he does with his client?

Thanks Junie and CJ and PB and Jaaron for all your good wishes and good luck. I’m tired so will keep it brief. David didn’t feel I needed to rush to see an endocrinologist since when he took my blood last month (but didn’t do a TPO reading) my TSH T3 and T4 were all normal range. But yes I probably have subclinical autoimmune hypothyroidism so will make an appointment in due time. I’m sort of tired of going to specialists and getting all these tests done.

For my skin issues He put me on a strong oral antifungal for 3 days and put me on 2 different topicals than the other derm from last week. It’s all trial and error at this point. So pharmacy has to order all the meds (5 different medications)and I will start it when I get them.

Good news is my scalp looked good. No Seb Derm and no scarring alopecia. Woohoo!
The eyebrow has hardly any hair left but he feels it will grow back once we get the inflammation under control. The million dollar question is how to get that inflammation under control. Has been going on for 5 months. Keeps getting worse. Fingers crossed it can be calmed and reduced.

PB you know how much I love your gorgeous masterpiece.

Thanks again girls. Hope everyone is enjoying a lovely Friday. XOXO.

HI:

Glad your appointment went as well as could be expected, MIssy. Hope your eyebrow heals soon. Every since I had shingles in my face, my eyebrows are a mess. I don't like it but have accepted they will never be the same again.

PB--YOUR RING! I died! Wear it in health! I hope your SH feet/lower legs gets back to normal soon. Must be uncomfortable to walk. And I enjoyed reading your ode to your husband. Congrats on 10 yeas together.

cheers--Sharon

Hi NIRDIs!

Missy, that is very cool you’ve been friends with that lady for so long. I am sure Marty is sad his gym didn’t draw clients but I think getting exposure at a local gym will get his name out there. His sister is coming up to help him move out next Saturday. Good deal your snow will turn to rain. It goes the other direction here. We had lot of fog and freezing rain this morning then snow started this afternoon. I did get a few tree pictures in the park today though. I’m with Greg on liking things clean; I am sure we could go 3 to 4 weeks but I’m comfortable with every 2 weeks. Our lady ended up coming today and I didn’t pick up as much as I normally do since it was short notice. Sorry to hear about your thyroid and how bad your eyebrow is now. I hope the meds David prescribed will help. Tell Greg I am grateful he takes good care of you.

Jaaron, my bears are doing good. It’s like they have a smile stitched on their face. Sorry to hear you’ve been dealing with a thyroid problem for 25 years; hopefully you found some things that help for both you and Missy.

CJ, hope you had a good week.

PierreBear, your ring turned out fabulous. It is gorgeous. I love the band too. I totally enjoyed hearing about your DH. He sounds wonderful and like a real keeper. Darn you have to wait a year for your ring; I’d talk Marty out of it in no time. We are both bad about that. Good idea to hide a key for your cleaning lady. I may as well leave our door unlocked for our cleaning lady. I keep finding the front or back door unlocked. At least the alarm is usually turned on. I’ve thought about a keyless entry or getting our alarm system set up that I can turn it off and on through an app but then I get paranoid they could be hacked. I don’t think what Marty does is cross fit; he calls it strength training. I’ll have to ask him.

Sharon, did your mom get to go home yet?

We had freezing fog this morning. The trees looked pretty. I met a friend for lunch, picked up some cash and decided to drive through the park and took a few pictures of the trees. I decided I deserved an extended lunch. Ha!

It started snowing this afternoon and our low tonight is going to be -11; I have no idea what the wind chill will bring that down to. I think Marty wants to go to Denver tomorrow but they are getting freezing drizzle and snow for about 24 hours. I hate being on the road when it’s icy. I’ll see what happens.

Marty keeps waking up and can’t sleep. He’s said quite a few times he thinks our mattress is too soft. Last night he decided to sleep in one of our guest bedrooms because the mattresses are firm. I woke up at 3:30 and then couldn’t go back to sleep and power of suggestion I hurt all over, my right shoulder was asleep and it dawned on me this mattress is too soft. It’s only 5 years old and it seems like we got a medium instead of firm. I need to look tonight to see if I can find the paperwork on it.

Marty and his sister are going to move his stuff home from the gym next weekend. He signed up to take the test for his NASM test on March 10.

Have a great weekend.
Marcy
Here is a frosty view of the park.

PBear!:love::love: That is one of the most beautiful rings I have ever seen. You have to wait??!

What is it with the NIRDIs??? So sociable! I take a day off and two pages have flown by.

Missy, you are the SW queen. I could almost believe SW made those boots with you in mind. I hope as better weather comes it will help with your skin issues.

On very short notice I have to go to France on business on Thursday. I’m practically MIA anyway, but it helps my nerves to let you know I'll be traveling.
I’ve been feeling overwhelmed for a long time and this is just more of the same. Maybe it’s just been a long winter.
Marcy, are you ready to run away with me? Well, we could take Marty too. : )

Hello lovelies

Hope DH is feeling better @junebug17 and that he’s safely back home and able to rest and relax.

:love: @PierreBear your ring turned out beautifully, no wonder you’re thrilled to bits with it, but booo to having to wait. Our 40th isn’t till next year, but mine hasn’t been off my paw since I got it. Tel DH that it’s a NIRDI thing that jewellery must be worn immediately so that it can be worn in, like a pair of shoes

Hi @jaaron hope all is well with you and you have a good weekend.

Sorry you’re feeling overwhelmed @Jimmianne , have a safe trip to France. How long will you be gone for?

Thanks for the snowy photograph @marcy, it’s picture postcard perfect. Yikes to -11, that is soooooo cold, I can’t even begin to imagine.

I like a very firm mattress, otherwise I wake up aching too. Do you think Marty’s lack of sleep is also to do with the uncertainty over his job, it wouldn’t be surprising for that to give him sleepless nights.? I’m sorry the gym didn’t work out, hopefully he can build a clientele at the other gym without the expense of running his own.

Hi @canuk-gal hope your Mum’s doing well and healing fast.

Well good news and not so good news @missy Sorry there are more meds to take, but if it does the trick it’ll be worth it. Yay to David saying the eyebrow should grow back in time, let’s hope the new meds get things heading in the right direction. It’s hard not to get down I know, but a positive mental attitude really can help. I can’t remember if I ever told you, when I was 20 I woke up and my face was twice it’s normal size. I looked like I’d been punched and kicked. You can imagine how bad I felt. Things somehow feel worse when it’s such a visible place. Anyhow, I saw a consultant dermo and after some trial & error meds, eventually it all healed. I’m keeping everycrossed that the new cocktail will do the trick.

Just finished a mammoth ironing session (all our linen clothes), cooking to do later, otherwise a lazy weekend for us.

Have a good one :wavey:

Good morning girls! I woke up at 9AM today so late and running behind now but it was worth sleeping in though I have to get going in a minute but couldn't let Caturday Saturday go by without saying hello to the NIRDIs!

Sharon I am sorry your shingles affected your face and still does. You are beautiful on the inside and out no matter what but I get how you feel. Most of my health issues affect my appearance and yes I have learned to accept it and make the best of it. Just want the itch and discomfort to be gone or at least have some relief. Hopefully on the road to relief. How is your mom doing? Thinking of you both and hoping things are progressing smoothly.

Marcy wow that is cold! But your snow is so pretty. Sorry you and Marty didn't sleep well last night. I prefer a softer mattress but Greg likes firmer. Our mattress is very old (over 10 years in Brooklyn old I believe) and Greg wants us to buy a new one. But I hate change and I love the one we are sleeping on so I have been dragging my heels and plus I don't know which one would be best for us. Thank you and I will tell Greg you said those kind words about him and right back at ya and Mr Marty. You both take care of each other quite well. I wish you best of luck in the new business endeavor. I think your logic makes perfect sense and fingers crossed Marty gets a lot of clients and does well. Plus free gym membership woohoo! Good luck on his NASM test next week. Awww that poor sweet Giraffe. Love that picture. Hysterical.

Jimmianne I am sorry honey- I just saw emails that I missed. I have like 15 pages of emails since I didn't check them yesterday. It was such a busy day with the doctor in the AM and then the afternoon flew by. Will get to them and answer them and in the meantime sending you big hugs and lots of good luck on your France adventure!!! I am sending you buckets of good luck and hope it happens the way you want it to. We are with you whether you are in France or the USA and only a text or email or phone call away at any time. (((Hugs))).

Austina wow that is quite the ironing session. I try buying wrinkle resistant clothes and the rest I give to Greg to iron haha but you probably could have guessed that. I am dangerous with an iron in my hands trust me. Sorry you went through such a trauma with your face and relieved for you the doctor was able to figure it out and treat you with the right meds and that you recovered fully!

OK off to workout and then maybe IKEA. Have a great Saturday girls and hugs!:wavey:

HI:

Missy--thank you for the kind words. I read your other post in the random thread about cost of meds. Because I have post herpetic neuralgia in my head/face, I get botox injections in a migraine pattern. It is not cheap, but it is the only thing that keep the pain at bay. I am grateful to be able to afford this but drug companies win win.

My Mom came home yesterday--having to spend two extra days in hospital for various reasons. My sister is there with her for one week, then I'll probably go. She is doing really well despite the pain and assorted complaints. Hope it continues on this trajectory and thank you (all) NIRDIS for the dust.

JA--safe travels to you!

Marcy--funny about the smiles being stitched on ---hahahaha. And nice photo.

PB--if you send me your ring--I'll take good care of it for a year! Promise!

NIRDI shout out!

cheers--Sharon

Good morning. I went out and took a few more pictures this morning. Here are my favorites.

Hi NIRDIs!

Jimmianne, I am sorry you are feeling overwhelmed. I hope you get your business taken care of without any hassle. We will run away with you as long as we can run away to somewhere warm. I was just out taking pictures and my car said 1 degree. We didn’t get much snow; it’s just cold. Oh no to having to go on a business trip this week but at least it is to France and you get to go stay at your pretty home there.

Austina, I’m with you; I’d wear my present as soon as I get it. Especially jewelry. The temperatures are like December / January cold right now. I think places around us got quite a bit of snow; we just had enough to cover things up. Marty has a lot of nights when he gets insomnia; poor guy. He mom has it really bad too. I am sure the job uncertainty weighs on his mind but he isn’t really a worrier. I hope his gym coaching works out for him. I am with you on a firm mattress; maybe after Marty gets his test out of the way I can talk him in to mattress shopping. Do you like to iron? I have no skill at ironing. When Marty was in the army I ironed his uniform once and after that he took that chore over.

Missy, it is difficult to give up a mattress you like. We had a queen sized bed at our last house and I hated giving up that mattress when we moved but we got a California king sized bed when we moved. Thank you for the good wishes for Marty’s test and business. Are you having more snow today?

Sharon, shots don’t sound fun especially in your face but I am glad to hear that keeps your pain at bay. I am so sorry you have to deal with that. Glad to hear your mom is home and you and your sister will help her the first few weeks.

We slept in until 7 then had a stupid phone solicitation that woke us up. I told Marty the universe is against us ever sleeping in. Then I spilled some OJ all over our clean floors. Other than those bumps in the road our day is going fine. I ran around for about an hour taking pictures. I hit a curb with my right front tire which always freaks me out (another curb incident) but it was just the tire and the car seems to run fine. When we go out to lunch later Marty will squawk right away if it is driving bad. If he doesn’t say anything it’s our little secret.

Take care.
Marcy

Goooooood morning NIRDIs and happy Saturday! (started this way earlier and got sidetracked)

hi Sharon :wavey: Love the phrase "Little Furry Miss" so cute. Just like her. She's doing great, thanks. And I'm looking forward to a lazy Saturday. With DH. What more could a girl want. Hope your mom is doing well.

Sunstorm It is SO hard not to help, not to want to save every one. It is hard to not want to take them home. When I lost my first kitty (the only one of mine I've ever lost - the other was one we attempted to rescue) I couldn't sleep for so many nights. I kept thinking about him being outside and cold and scared (we had him buried at a kitty cemetery). The second loss was a kitten who was too sick and we ended up not being able to save him. We knew him for only a week and we still mourn him to this day, it's probably been a year, not sure. But definitely disproportionate to the amount of time we spent with him. Glad that your kitties are being spoiled by your mom and that you get to see them. I hope they continue to stay healthy for much longer. Hugs.

missy you bring out the sweetheart in me trust me there isn't much to go around :D unless it's a furry animal :D pleased as punch suits you :D (sweet)

I remember that poem missy <3

I plan on doing absolutely not much of anything which are the perfect weekend plans. 8) Unless of course I had plans to go somewhere with Missy and Greg. 8)

hayley I like your ring :wavey:

PB I like either the love language thing (and in the process, you may help some couples) :D and I like the motto one too. Is there anything OTHER than a PC? or at least that doesn't try to dictate what settings I can and cannot manipulate? I really love your ring it is gorgeous and looks so lovely on you.

austina how did Dottie show that she was pleased to see you. Was she a little annoyed you guys were gone?

juney April will be here before you know it. Hope your DH is feeling better.

marcy so glad the answers your employee gave you were satisfying and that the rotation is working. I asked about the procedures because some people simply don't see the value in following any structure. I would have done the same thing you did re: Marty and his "new" plan - I am a big believer in never saying "I told you so" (not always easy to do but I try to stick with it.) Glad to hear he's a little less stressed.

hi jaaron! :wavey:

jimmianne I know the NIRDI's are furious typists :D

We saw the movie Gifted last night with the guy from Captain America and the CUTEST little girl actress. It was a really cute movie. Predictable, maybe. But still cute.

I am super nervous because my laptop - which I bought no more than 8 or 10 months ago - seems to be losing its charge super quick. I've been noticing needing to plug it in what seemed to me really often the past couple of days. Today I decided to the time write down so I can keep an eye on it. Today at 3:50 P.M. I had 100%. Now at 5:09 it says 32 minutes to empty. This can't be right.

OK girls have a GREAT Saturday. Hugs to everyone. :wavey:

marcy I won't tell :) - hope Marty doesn't notice

CJ, oh no that your computer is slowing down. Mine was doing that and I finally found it was some stupid Mac Cleaner that I somehow downloaded. I got rid of most of it but still get their darned popups all the time.
Sorry about your kitties; anything we love is hard to lose and always in our hearts.
Good question about my employees and procedures; 2 of them hate structure and to be told what to do (and they are the least productive) and 2 of them try to follow procedures but over confidence bites them because they forgot all the steps.
I almost watched Gifted but haven't yet; I'll try to catch it soon. Marty is heading to LA tomorrow so I'll be renting lots of movies.
And thank you for not telling Marty. We just zipped around town and he didn't say a thing so I sure didn't mention it to him.

We had lunch (I was really hungry and ate too much), tested a few mattresses then went to Sam's Club. I tried on a herringbone bracelet that was nice but too similar to my other gold bracelet so I resisted buying it.

Laters :wavey:

Hey there nirdis!

Missy, I'm glad you got a bit of good news this week at the derm with regard to the eyebrow eventually growing back and your scalp looking good. It does seem like a trial and error situation at this point and I so hope that one of these meds ends up helping you. I don't blame you for being tired of going to doctors and getting tested and it sounds like the hypothyroidism can wait a bit. I hope you're having a great weekend with Greg.

Marcy, I love your squirrel stories! So funny and definitely sweet memories for you, (((hugs))). Marty has a good plan for going forward with his training, and it was very nice of you to not say I told you so lol! You've been very supportive. He does seem to really enjoy training people and it sounds like this opportunity will allow him to do that a lot more. Glad to hear he isn't as stressed, and I hope he starts sleeping better soon. Mattresses make a huge difference for me. Too soft or too firm and I get aches and pains that keep me up. Thanks for the sympathy for dh - yes, being away from home makes being sick even worse! It's great you had a good conversation with your employee and are feeling better about that situaton. My gosh, it's always something for you at work lately! You deserve a break, good for you for taking longer at lunch. Whoa, it is brutally cold for you right now! Love the pics of the trees and snow, really pretty. Must have been tough to pass on the bracelet but sounds like the right decision. and there are plenty of other things to buy :P2

PB, oh wow, your ring is simply gorgeous!!! It turned out beautfiully, it's perfect! What a wonderful symbol of the love between you and your dh. It will be so hard to wait for that beauty, but it will make your 10th anniversary very special and meaningful. And in the meantime you can enjoy that beautiful band.

I really like the new topics you came up with, I'd be comfortable joining in for them both.

Jimmianne, life can certainly be overwhelming at times, always seems like there's something to do, or something to worry about. Sorry you've been struggling lately. I hope you can enjoy yourself a little in France, even though it's mainly a business trip.

CJ, I'm so spacey - I meant March, not April! Dh just told me tonight it should be done March 4th but not sure it that's when I'll get it. Hope you're enjoying a relaxing weekend with dh!

Thank to everyone for your good wishes for dh - he's still not 100% but feeling much better. Spent a quiet day inside, too drippy and dreary here to venture out. Tomorrow is supposed to be nicer, will try to get out and enjoy some fresh air for a change.

Take care all!

marcy it's not so much that it's slowing down, it's just that the battery is not charging. But guess what. I was about to order a new battery but after doing some digging I ran into a technical bulletin that talks about the issue and how the manufacturer is replacing batteries on certain models at no charge, and mine is one of them. So I should get a replacement battery within 2-4 weeks. Yay.

So you've got two that don't like to follow them at all and two that think they're following them but really aren't. :/

You'll like Gifted I think. We watched 1922 - it was OK. Could have / should have been a lot scarier.

Glad Marty didn't figure anything out. That's your reward for not having told him "I told you so." :praise:

june well, I'm glad you were wrong and the car will be here earlier. Yay. All kidding aside do you consider yourself spacey? Enjoy this beautiful Sunday.

Everyone else, hugs and enjoy today to the fullest!

Good morning girls. I’m super groggy this morning. Didn’t fall asleep till 430 am or so and woke at 730 and then @ 9am. I took a new med and wow I probably shouldn’t have taken it at 330 am haha.

Junie ya your car will be here earlier than expected. Exciting news. Hope Your DH is feeling better today. Our weather is rainy all day. Hope you have sunny skies by you and that you can enjoy some fresh air.

CJ aww it is so nice to wake up to your kind words. And ditto. We would love to hang out with you and your DH too. And you are sweet and it’s easy to see your kindness and compassion. Hope you are enjoying a relaxing weekend and that it continues today. Thanks for the movie recs. I might have seen one of them but will check. I’m always looking for recs.

Oh that sucks about your computer and the charge. Same thing happened to me. I hope cleaning it out re the Mac cleaner or something similar as suggested by Marcy helps.

Hugs.

Marcy darn those solicitation calls. Make me so mad. We received a call a few days ago at 930pm. Well I gave that guy what for lol. He won’t be calling us again. What the heck is wrong with people. What if we had small children? 930 at night on a weeknight? Heck don’t freaking call me after 7 pm. And don’t call me at all. Remove us from your call list please.

Glad you enjoyed some bling shopping and good for you in resisting the urge to buy something you didn’t really want.
And of course we will keep mum on what? I already forgot. :shhh::whistle:

Love all your photos Marcy. Thanks for sharing and they are so pretty. Winter is beautiful and cruel too. Do you know the song “Winter Kills” by Yaz? Love that song.

Sharon I’m glad the Botox helps you with your post herpetic neuralgia. It’s scary how much can go wrong and thank goodness medicine and science can at least help somewhat in many cases. I am so sorry you are dealing with all of this. But you are a champ and come through it all so well. A testament to how strong and courageous and wonderful you are.

How is your mom doing today? Sorry she had to stay a bit longer at the hospital and I hope the complications she went through are all fine now. So glad she is home. How are you feeling? Hoping all is continuing to go smoothly. Hugs.

Jimmianne hope you are getting everything you need done before your trip and wishing you a safe and successful trip. Hugs.

Hey to everyone else. Hope the weekend is going well and enjoy your Sunday. Hugs all. :wavey:

Oh boy our car is coming soon, June.
That’s very exciting. That first drive will be amazingly fun.

I’m sorry. I’m not keeping up at all.
I love you guys though, so don’t hold it against me.
I’m very distracted. Started feeling fluish yesterday and today a little more, so life here is eat, sleep, repeat with a few loads of laundry for fun.

Marcy, my French teach is building an online business and she was told by her mentor how very much exposure it takes just to get 10 clients. It’s a process...kudos to Marty for hanging in there. Going to the gym and meeting people sounds like a great plan.

Aww Jimmianne I am sorry you aren't feeling well. Hope you don't have the flu. Sending healing vibes and big hugs your way.

I would like to present our newest family member to you lovely ladies. My new niece Zena. A rescue boxer my sister and her family just took home this afternoon. Isn't she the sweetest?

zenaandbethanyandalexa.jpg

zenaandalexa.jpg

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday evening.

OMG Missy - what a lucky girl. She's so lovely.

And your nieces...their little faces...so sweet.

Will you thank them for doing such a nice thing for this lovely girl. <3

One more animal is safe tonight. Yes. <3

hi jimmianne feel better! - I am missing my smilies :/ but picture the wavy guy :)

Hi everyone -

Missy, sorry about the rough night's sleep and I hope you were able to catch up. It rained here too - for some reason I thought it was supposed to be nice lol. Hopefully the rain will let up soon, I'm starting to feel waterlogged. Aw, Zena is adorable and I am so happy she has found a great home with your sister and her family. Your nieces are so cute and sweet. Thank you for sharing those wonderful pics.

Sharon, forgot to say I am so sorry about the nerve pain and the need for shots. That's a tough thing to have to deal with. Having shingles on your face must have been so scary. I hope your mother is feeling well and recovering ok.

Jimmianne, sending hugs and good thoughts to you, I'm sorry you're under the weather and I hope it passes soon. I'm glad you're taking it easy and getting some rest.

CJ, great news about getting a new battery free of charge. I guess I wouldn't really call myself spacey for the most part but I have my moments. Like thinking today was going to be nice here :???:

I hope everyone had a great day, will check in soon. I'm driving up to meet my daughter after work to give her some things that were mailed here, and then I'm going to stop in at my brother's since he's in the area.

Have a good Monday everyone!

Good morning girls!

Junie how is your dh feeling today? I slept better last night thank you. Have a good trip today to see your dd and also to visit your brother. How is he doing? Is he happy where he is living now? I hope he has adjusted to the new living situation and is finding his way. Enjoy your visits. Thanks for your lovely comments about Zena.

Jimmianne hope you are feeling better.

CJ aww yes what a nice way to look at it. One more animal is safe tonight. Love that. Oh and I just realized with regards to my other thread. You have such a strong sense of self and such a strong purpose in saving animals and looking out for them that I believe that qualifies as close connections. Keeps you healthier. That sense of purpose and connection. That is my thought. And also as I wrote in that thread it isn't IMO so much the quantity but the quality of friendships. How is sweet Mousey doing?

You know I didn't share the backstory with Zena but very quickly if I may. And it goes to illustrate just how powerful social media is.
My FB friend's friend had a boxer in need of a loving home because her friends had to move and they for whatever reason couldn't take him. And I knew since Debbie's boxer had died the family was so missing having him with them and having a dog. So I contacted my sister and connected my FB friend C with her. The spoke via phone (different states) and long story short Debbie was seriously thinking about adopting this boxer except the problem of getting him to them (thousands of miles away) was an issue. But C's friend was considering helping send him to them but then he got adopted (YAY!!!! because his living situation after they moved was not good and why I contacted my sister) and my sister and her dh took that as a sign it was time to adopt another rescue boxer. So hopefully happy ending for both Zs! The other boxer needing a home has a Z name too LOL. Zuess. And Debbie's rescue has the name Zena. They aren't going to change it because they don't want to confuse her. Zena is deaf but many white boxers are.

Since she is a rescue she has undergone trauma and was found tied up in Staten Island somewhere so we are hoping she can adjust and become happy in her new home. She is very sweet and wants to play with the kitties but the kitties are scared of her right now. So my sister told me they were hiding from her all night. I sure hope everyone can get along and learn to love each other. It's tough because they have an adult cat (who grew up with my sister's previous dog) and an older kitten who I don't think has any dog experience. Fingers crossed it goes OK.

More Zena pics!

I mean look at that face...how can people be so awful. :cry2: Hoping sweet Zena adjusts well and that my sister and her family can love her enough so she can forget all the awful memories that happened before.

Have a good day girls. I might have some updates to share but will let you know when I do. Hugs.:wavey:

@PierreBear OMG that ring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@missy Zena is the cutest ever! Please send her all my love, and your sister and her family too for being true angels!

@missy – Oh goodness, 5 different mediations. I hope there aren’t any major side effects.

Glad to hear the goodnews that there is no scaring alopecia!

Did you get anything good at Ikea?

Awww I’m sorry the medication is affecting your sleeping habits. 9 AM isn’t too late though and just in time for brunch!

Hi Zena!!! Love your pink sweater!! Woof! Hope she figures out how to play with the kittens. I bet overtime they will figure it out.

@marcy – Oh yes I know what you mean about fear of things getting hacked. I don’t like having my credit card information stored just for that same reason. Things are supposed to be secured but everyone is getting more sophisticated and daring now a days.

Sorry to hear that Marty hasn’t been sleeping well. I think the softness or hardness of a mattress can affect your sleeping habits greatly. Is your guest bed the same size as the master? Maybe just swap out mattresses and since your guests wouldn’t be over for an extended period of time, it wouldn’t be a problem for them?

Does Marty and his sister train together at the same gym? Good luck to him on his upcoming test in March. Some time to train/practice for it!

Oh no that you hit the curb. I’m glad you stayed safe though and no damage to the car!

@Jimmianne – I didn’t realize you travel to France for work. I thought it was to visit your daughter etc and for fun. Do you work for a French based company so you only go to France or do you travel to other international places? Safe travels and hope that you are feeling ready for that journey. Be safe and enjoy some of the fun treats over there!

@Austina – You deserve a lazy weekend after all that ironing and cooking. You are hilarious about breaking in a ring. Waiting for this ring is actually the easy part. I wasn’t anxious with picking out the stone thanks to @missy but was only really uncertain about the setting part since things aren’t clear to me until I see it in person to fully understand. Glad that is over and done with! Wow 40 years together with your DH. Now that is something to commemorate!!!!

@canuk-gal – hahaha Sharon I love your humor and wit. How about let’s trade for a year?! Your comment reminds me that I was always curious if there was a business that would allow you to “rent” or “borrow/trade” rings for a period of time. Maybe someone has a black tie affair and wants to get a blingy necklace etc for an evening. I would be more interested in switching rings for a month to learn whether you really like that type of cut or intricate or simple setting.

@CJ2008 – hahaha there are only PCs in my world as well but sorry to hear that your laptop isn’t holding charge for very long. Bummer and I hope getting a new battery replacement will resolve the issue quickly.

@junebug17 – Hope your DH is feeling better and that the fresh air was all that he needed to get over that hump. Ohhh how exciting like everyone said that your car is coming soon. Did you already figure out what you are doing with your current car? Sell it/trade it in/give it to a family member etc?

Hope you have a great time with your DH and brother. Nice to have family so close by!

Aww thank you sweet Scandi! Hugs and hope you have good news for us soon!

Pierrebear WOW! LOVE the newest additions. So happy you have your dream OEC and dream ring.
Nope we didn't buy anything at IKEA but there is a couch I liked there...it would sure save us a lot of $$$ if we bought the sectional and love seat there for our beach house. And it comes in white leather. But we are going to shop around before we decide. How was your weekend?

OK I think we are doing the backsplash like this. A classic pattern. Do you agree? Any advice or suggestions?

Hi NIRDI ladies! We celebrated DH’s belated birthday as we didn’t have a free weekend until this recent one. Borrowed a friend’s convertible and cruised around the country side. Thought of @marcy and @junebug17 since this is the closest we will ever get to a Porsche is by borrowing someone’s haha… kind friends we have. DH had a blast driving manual and misses having one. Even though it was cold, he put the top down and we cranked up the heat and put on the seat warmers. In the country side, we passed by this big bull who was on the wrong side of the fence. He was gladly just walking along though. Yeee hawww… guess you don’t see that very often in your part of town? I haven’t seen one with that big of horns before.

Thanks for the kind words on the ring. Ya'll are really just way to sweet and I appreciate the confirmation that the setting complements the stone. I usually find myself a simple lady so I was surprised that I fell in love with this type of setting that had some different elements to it. I really can’t believe how it all came together so nicely and don't think DSS will set in. Haven’t gotten tired of looking at it yet and I have until this Friday to look at it and make sure there are no other sizing/adjustments etc before it gets packed away. Until then, I’ll share a few more photos to tide me over until next year! Appreciate ya'll letting me share and being part of this journey again.
