Now I really did it :((

Hiya all!

Missy, the kitchen looks really beautiful, and I'm so glad you love it! Greg is a real sweetheart for cleaning and organizing everything. It looks fabulous. And such a pretty view of the water, what a lovely and peaceful place. And of course Fred is such a cutie

I know you are going through a very rough and scary time, and I am thinking of you. I'm so glad you have a such an amazing husband who adores you and who is there to help, comfort, and support you. Please know I am here for you to share your thoughts and feelings, and I'm sure the rest of the nirdis feel the same way. Sending lots of love and hugs.

Austina, good to hear that Colin is being seen quickly and I'm hoping for a negative result.

Hope all the nirdis have a wonderful Saturday! :wavey:

@missy, I also want to say that I've been thinking of you, and hoping you are doing OK.
You have mentioned in the past about your unruly, but gorgeous head of curly hair.
So now it may be a great thing, because if you do (God forbid) suffer any thin spots on your scalp, all that hair will be a blessing. Healing dust coming your way!:kiss2:

Hello lovelies

At last spring has sprung!

@missy I’m so glad you’re thrilled with the kitchen, it’s really turned out beautifully. Every choice you made is so complimentary, and the end result is just perfect.

Greg is a total treasure, not just because he’s so practical, but also because he’s such a caring, supportive partner. Where would we be without them? I truly feel that we hit the jackpot to find such wonderful men. It’s rare these days to find them, and I’m glad that you have his enduring love to help you through all the trials you’re facing.

Hi @junebug17 hope you’re having a lovely weekend.

Big wave to all the lovely NIRDIs, have a great weekend :wavey:

Hi NIRDIs!

Missy, I am so glad are you loving your new kitchen. It looks fabulous. I love the C&H funnies. They are perfect for this time of year. I especially chuckled at the second one about complaining about the wind. Enjoy your warm weekend. We had about 2” of snow but the wind is so bad there are 15” drifts then nothing. I hope you don’t get caught in the rain at the start of the week. I am so sorry about the issues you are having from your immune system and hate to hear there isn’t much knowledge or help for you now. Big hugs to you. Greg is a wonderful husband and I am so glad he takes such good care of you. Tell him thank you from me. The pictures from the beach are great. Your tree looks pretty. Hi Fred!

Jimmianne, I enjoy the beach homes vicariously with you too. I would be very happy to have one I could go visit on a whim. Since your DD is going to live in France it makes perfect sense to have a place there and I am sure if you decide it’s not for you anymore you won’t have any trouble selling it. Then you can just stay with your DD on your visits. Yes, NYC and Missy is the central hub for NIRDI’s. Ha Ha Missy you are elected. That is great your young neighbors and friends are going to be caretakers for you; that has got to be a big relief for you. Ha Ha to the NIRDI tribe. It seems like you just got back from France.

Junebug, I was glad when we finally got nav systems in our vehicles. Of course Marty never looks up things before we go anywhere and I am useless at reading a map. If I am going somewhere new I still use something like map quest and get directions from my house. I am glad your husband came home this weekend. Have a nice weekend.

Austina, good deal for improving weather. I agree with you that society seems to be trending more and more to it’s okay not to be held accountable for your own actions. I see if more and more at work and when I was teaching. I am glad to hear Colin is getting in to a specialist he knows on Tuesday. Sending him tons of good luck dust. Did you start your garden? They had flowers out at the store today - covered in snow and being blown over from the horrid wind. Weird no one was buying them.

I was so mad at my employees yesterday I walked in a chewed them out. They were all talking but primarily the biggest whiner was complaining about a guy on another team. He sends us schedules. He has only done that particular schedule she was complaining about for less than 2 months and she was saying how bad it was. He honestly isn’t doing that bad; he is still learning. He heard her and went and asked his boss if he was that bad. I was so mad I went in and chewed them all out saying I was absolutely fed up with the back stabbing, finger pointing, gossiping and complaining about other people in here so knock it off.

I am still ticked at my them for making that guy feel bad. The girl who was bad mouthing him is the first person to complain loud and long if someone is mean to her or says anything about her yet she is totally judgmental and very vocal about it. i plan on giving them a lecture on Monday about the reputation their room is getting and I am also going to point out yes if you are a minute late - you are considered late. If you don’t like it find another job. They are wearing me out.

My cleaning lady was sick today. Shocking, I know. She said she could come Monday. We’ll see. If she doesn’t I have another lady I am going to talk to for cleaning.

We watched TV last night and I read during commercials. So far I have enjoyed Origin but I have to admit the big discovery that book builds up to was disappointing. I don’t know how much I have left to read but I hope to finish it today. I would still say it’s been a good book.

We went out for breakfast this morning. I swear for 2 of us we had enough food on the table for 5 people. I ordered their basic bacon, eggs, hash browns and got pancakes instead of toast. Marty ordered an omelet with toast and hash browns, a second omelet without the sides and a cup of fruit. So then I said ooh I’ll have some fruit too so we basically had 4 plates each. I didn’t eat half of my food but Marty got all of his down except he left most of his toast.

We followed up breakfast with a trip to the grocery store. Since I had Mr. muscles with me to pack in everything I stocked up on all sorts of things. Ha! I was going to go wander the Hallmark store while Marty checked out but they weren’t open yet. That probably saved us some money.

Tonight we are meeting my sister and some of her family for dinner in Colorado. If the wind is still howling (gusting in the 60’s or higher) we will probably take the truck.

Have a fabulous weekend.
Marcy

Good morning girls!
Thank you all so much again. @junebug17 and @Austina and @stracci2000 and @Austina and @marcy! And everyone else who has reached out to me. I really appreciate it and it does comfort me. Thank you and (((HUGS))).

Junie what a ridiculously beautiful (but a bit too warm for me haha) day yesterday. Hope you enjoyed it with your dh. It hit the mid 80s for us here. Cuckoo.
Thank you so much for everything Junie. (((Hugs))).

Austina thank you and (((hugs))). Hope your weekend is going well. Thinking of you and Colin. XOXO.

Stracci unfortunately my hair is fine so it was never thick. Thank you for your encouragement and your healing dust. (((Hugs))). Hope you are enjoying a lovely weekend.

Marcy well today the wind is really something to complain about by us. I think they are gusting to over 30 mph today. OMG. I mean yesterday was in the mid 80s and today we aren't getting out of the 40s. Is this some sort of alternate universe in which we are experiencing Spring?
Oh no I am sorry your cleaning lady canceled on you again...I hope this time she let you know in advance. What a hassle. I have been reluctant to let our cleaning lady come to the Brooklyn home as she is always breaking something. Greg is not too pleased with my decision right now lol and I guess I am going to have to schedule her soon. My vacuuming and dusting skills are not up to his standards. Oh well cannot please everyone all the time right?

Haha love that you had an abundanzia of food yesterday at breakfast. I love having an abundanzia of anything. Makes me feel content and happy. I think I was a depression era baby in another life. Probably a bald baby.

Glad Mr Muscles was with you yesterday to help with groceries etc. Hope you enjoyed a lovely evening with your sister and her family last night and hope you are sleeping in this AM. Thank you for all your support and love and hugs right back at ya.

We had a lovely albeit hot day yesterday. Visiting the rescues and helping them out with photos. Wish I was a better photographer for them. I am heartbroken because 2 of the bonded brothers who were adopted as kittens were returned just the other day to this rescue group because the owner developed allergies. She had these kitties for a year! And they were in demand when they were kittens but she got them and now they are not really kittens anymore and what are the odds they will be adopted??? They are bonded and must be adopted together. So so sad. I hate some people SOOOOOOOO much.;(;(;(

Here they are. Loren and Lexi. Pass the word around girls. They are located in Brooklyn. A year old. Super sweet. Super affectionate.

lorenandlexi.jpg

and then there is Honey Bunny and her DD Blossom. So precious. Blossom is about 1.5 years old and Honey Bunny 3 years old.

honeybunnyandblossom.jpg

Honey Bunny. She is a honey. As is her DD. Hugging Donna one of the rescue coordinators. Also a sweetheart.

Then Peter "Cotton Tail". Awwww. He's about one year old.

More pics next post as I have reached the maximum. Hmmm I tend to do that often don't I?:oops2::cheeky:

Lastly may I present Goldie. She is truly a LOVE. So friendly and so purrrrry sweet. Greg hung out with her for over an hour. She is precious. If we were adopting a fifth she would have been the one. She stole our hearts. I am still thinking about her but we just cannot do it. Wouldn't be fair to her (going back and forth for the next 6 plus months) or Greg. Too hard to transport 5 cats every single weekend from NY to NJ and back. But I am in love with her.:kiss2:

goldie.jpg

goldieandgreg.jpeg.png

She is just at 1 year old but behaves like a little kitten. And she is small. At most about 8 lbs so she is a petite kitty. Awww look at those precious eyes. Look at her adorable face. And incredibly sweet. Purring the whole time.:kiss2:

Have a wonderful day girls! Hope it's PURRRRRRRRfect.:appl:

Hello lovelies

I hate to see so many lovely kitties needing homes @missy :( poor little sweethearts. I’m glad that they at least have a window in their week when you go to visit and cuddle them.

One of my FB friends is having a terrible time with her insurance company, and someone posted this, so I’m passing it along (and keeping it for possible future reference). I don’t know if it’ll be of any use to you, or any other NIRDIs, but maybe worth a try next time you get the stock NO!

88CFF8C8-AB8C-4373-B62B-B3A2BDC6DCF2.png

If it’s not clear enough to read, I can email it.

Honestly @marcy, your employee’s antics make ME want to scream, so I can only imagine how it makes you feel.

Good job on having a very hearty breakfast, best meal of the day :D

I hope you managed to go out last night without the weather impacting your visit. Snow, it’s April :eek-2:

Well the meteorologist lied, it’s wet and miserable again today, so the gardening was put on hold.

Hope all the NIRDIs are having a peaceful time

:wavey:

Hi NIRDIs!

Missy, you are very welcome and I am keeping you in my thoughts every day. Sending mega dust your day. Darn that our wind showed up by you; today it is only slightly breezy. I am sorry your cleaning lady breaks things. Ours has done that too; and she’s chipped up some walls, floors and floor boards. But my house looks way better for having her clean. We had another table full of food at supper last night too. Today is going to be more controlled. All the rescue kitties are so cute. I am sure they love you and Greg coming to visit them.

Austina, I hate too hear your friend is having problems with her insurance company. It seems like it depends who is viewing your request and how the doctor codes it. I do like a good breakfast; during the week I have dry cheerios at work but on the weekend I want a real breakfast. Darn that the weatherman lied. They do that frequently. Trust me I want to scream too; my employees are unreal. My niece in law and I had a chat last night that turned in to how many people are so unmotivated and irresponsible out there anymore. 2 of their teenage sons were working last night and have both have already been made managers at their fast food jobs but they are responsible and hard working. Then we ventured in to the victim mentality that is plentiful as well.

Dinner last night was really fun. It ended up being 9 of us so I actually got to visit with everyone. Marty only drove 5 miles over the speed limit so I didn’t have to nag him at all.

I am working on laundry today and it’s nice enough to cook on the grill. Woo hoo!

Have a great day.
Marcy

I forgot to tell you about my ACA scare. I was taking off my earrings after I'd put in my eye drop the other night so I had my left eye closed. I was putting on the friction back kind of missing and dropped both the back and earring; the earring went on the counter but the back went right down the drain. I was glad it was only my back I lost. I have a little baggie of assorted sized backs and naturally none of them fit. I did find a WG back on one of my earrings that works but I'll need to see if I can find a YG back at a jewelry store that fits snugly.

marcy I have no idea if we have an extension but I guess we'll have to since I just saw by the tracking # of the USPS that they attempted delivery on Saturday and left a notice and my CPA is telling me he doesn't see a notice. I don't even know why they would have taken this long since the Post Office said they'd get there Thursday. Oh well here we go. I rarely use curse words either. Although lately I've been a little more lax for some reason. Yes all cats are awesome and cute and unique just like all children. :D And like your employees. :D

Austina thanks for posting that insurance info. And I hope Colin's text come pack perfect.

missy I know a few people that have lost their hair for one reason or another and they all bought wigs and none of them wore them. And of course as Junie said, we are all thinking of you and are here for you.

The kitchen is gorgeous missy and so is little Fred.

I know for a fact you make those wonderful kitties so happy when you and Greg go visit them. The 2 bonded kitties being returned after a year. :blackeye: I'm so sorry.

jimmianne NYC being the NIRDI hub of the world. I like it. :D

hi pierre hope your kitty is making some progress and that you're enjoying the weekend.

Well, guys, I dyed my hair again this weekend. I took my time this time and I didn't use any red. Just dark brown. Looks so much better.

I watched the documentary Disgraced. It was truly chilling.

That's it for now girls. Hugs.

CJ, I hope they find your taxes okay. I’d be using some of those internal colorful metaphors too. Yay for your hair color turning out good.

I think I'll post this at my desk at work

30728885_1780153235384834_5674643639108632576_n.jpg

Good morning girls! It's torrential downpours with lots of wind outside but warm and cozy inside. Thundering happening right now. Very loud. Kitties all in bed with me still and don't yet seem upset by the thunder thankfully.

Austina thank you for that info. Very helpful. I am so sorry about what your friend is going through. Just unbelievable and my heart goes out to her. Hope it is resolved soon. It's just insult upon injury when one is dealing with significant health issues and then one also has to battle the insurance company who was supposed to be there to help protect you from untreated illness.

Please let us know how the biopsy goes and how Colin is doing.

Marcy so glad you had a lovely time with all your friends the other night. Love evenings like that where you catch up with friends and enjoy each other's company. Comfortable with no pretense. We all need friends like that. Hope your chores and laundry went easily yesterday and I hope this week is a good one for you. Please let your bratty employees behave. Fingers crossed.

Hahaha love that comic you shared. And yup I am right there with you. For different reasons. If one cannot laugh at life then one cries. I prefer laughing. Of course every now and then a good cry is cathartic so I do not rule that out when necessary. It's a good cleaning out of one's stressful emotions.

Hello Sharon, We had summer on Saturday and winter yesterday. What's happening by you? How's your mom doing?

Hi CJ, Hope you enjoyed your Sunday.

Yesterday we went into Soho and went to Best Friends Animal rescue group and saw some newborn kitties. Awwwww.

newbornkitty.jpg

newbornkitties.jpg

Then we strolled through Soho and of course stopped into all the cute boutiques where I had to try on some very beautiful clothes. I wish I had thought to take photos for you lovely girls but I forgot as I was mesmerized by the gorgeous stuff haha. But I did manage at our last stop to take photos of these adorable Stuart Weitzman spring/summer boots. I didnt pull the trigger yet because I just don't know if I can manage the blocky heel. I prefer flats but this is the flattest heel he does in the newer Spring collection.

Haha got Greg in here accidentally. Isn't he super sweet waiting patiently while I have some try on fun?
(excuse my attire as I was wearing a winter coat and did not intend to be taking it off and trying things on...this is definitely not pic worthy clothing but it is super comfortable strolling clothing which was the focus of our afternoon plus I was wearing this with my OTK SW boots which makes more sense for that outfit than these short booties just saying).

stuartweitzmanspringboots.jpg

closeup of the boot. It's soft and according to the salesperson easy to clean.

stuartweitzmanspringboots.jpg

Anyway I am probably passing as I just cannot risk tripping on these. I also tried on $600 SW sneakers. OMG and LOL. They were just too blocky and big for my already huge feet. Wish I had thought to take a pic of those. I cannot do trendy but that is OK. I mean if I was doing trendy I'd have big bold eyebrows instead of no eyebrows.

I did buy adorable "sneaker" shoes and the style is new to me. Very very comfortable. But I will let you know just in case anything changes as when I wear them for walking for hours I hope they remain as comfortable. More expensive than what I would normally spend on "sneakers" but not crazy.

softinos.jpeg

Have a good Monday girls! No matter the weather I hope you are feeling sunny and bright. (((Hugs))).:wavey:

Good morning! Just a quick hello…. Busy day at work with the auditors on-site. We had a good weekend though. Celebrated a friend’s birthday and hosted some international coworkers for a meal at our place. Oh and date night at a restaurant we haven’t been to before. As good as the food was, people watching as possibly better… I think there were was a bachelorette party, engagement party, and prom dinner going on all at the same time?! Sequenced dresses to thigh high boots to leather pants… oh my… hahaha : ) Have a great day!

@marcy – How funny that you call your employees your children. I wonder if people use that term on me due to the age difference. I’m on average 20 years younger than most people I work with at my full time gig. : ) I like the mother nature/father time reference!

Haha so funny that you call Marty, Mr. Muscles. I try to get the grocery shopping out of the way so DH and I don’t have to do that on the weekend. Or if we do go on the weekend it’s to Whole Foods/Trader Joes to pick up specialty fun items. I dread picking up kitty litter at the store by myself though. Those buckets are heavvvvyyy!

Oh my goodness… your earring scare… Glad it was just the back.

@missy – Oh my… I don’t even want to think about scap/wigs for you yet. No no no no!! Sorry again for all your medical challenges.

Glad to hear that you LOVE THE KITCHEN!!! I love it too!!!

Meow… hi Fred! All those other kitties are adorable too. Purrrr purrrr

@Jimmianne – How exciting to go to France again. Safe travels!

@junebug17 – Sorry to hear that your DH’s schedule has been cray-cray. Oh my…. Does travel include long hours though? Does he deal with it well or has just gotten used to it? So sweet of you to pick him up at the airport.

@Austina – I’m not surprised that you can present in front of people. Such a polished lady you are! Wow… what event was it that you presented on live tv?! I hope there is a way to stream it so we can re-watch and say “ohhh that’s my friend up there.” Speaking of being on tv, Side note – my cat has been on a movie since they filmed parts of a scene in our bedroom. Guess he’s paid his dues. : ) The movie was terrible though… one of the worst movies I’ve seen so I won’t recommend it. It’s very “indie” which means too artsy for its own good. Hahaha

Good luck to Colin tomorrow dealing with the nose!

@CJ2008 – Hurray on dying your hair and getting the color that you like!

Hello NIRDIs:

We had spring two days and now winter again. Not cold but getting up to 20 cms of heavy wet snow. Oh and some rain. Nice and mucky and slippery. YAY! I know April and May are our big precipitation months, but we've had unusual /records amounts of snow this year (and cold temps) and it is becoming unbearable. I am truly beleaguered. DH working from home today.

Not much else to report other than my left hip/glut is sore from sitting on my dining room chair instead of my computer chair. I have been working and exercising but I can feel it...mostly when I sit. Always something.

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

:lol:fortunately, the shows were before the company used to upload them to their YouTube channel @PierreBear. I do have some of them recorded, but you’ll have to come here if you want to see them ;)2 Glad you enjoyed your date night, and have found a good restaurant. What type of food do they serve?

Yikes @marcy, thank goodness you didn’t lose your earring. I’ve become more careful now, I can’t tell you how many times I dropped contact lenses down the sink  I always make sure the plug’s in now when I’m cleaning my earrings.

I would definitely get that sign made up and put it on your desk so the brats can’t say they weren’t warned :rolleyes2:

So glad you had fun on your evening out. How are your eyes these days?

Hi @CJ2008 thanks for the good wishes. Yay to your hair coming out well :appl:

:(2 To more snow @canuk-gal , I hope your hip isn’t too painful.

Seems we’ve swapped weather @missy, we’ve had a lovely day here. Awww to those sweet kitties, they’re just too cute, it’s hard to remember when our pets were that small.

Your new sneakers look like they’ll be very comfortable, I hope they work out for you. Colin is like Greg, he doesn’t mind coming shopping with me, and waiting while I try things on , just as well, because I like to shop

I hope you’re keeping cosy and dry.

We had someone come to measure up for some new windows today (just the glass, not the frames). Some of our double glazed units have blown. The man said that those in strong sunlight often go, and the front of the house get the full blast of the sun. Fortunately, it’s not a big or expensive job and the new sealed units can be ready in 2 weeks from order, and fitted in 2-3 hours.

Colin had another dental appt today, she’s done a great job of shortening his canines, so they look less like fangs

In the sprit of sharing something inspirational

:wavey:

Thank you, Austina. Good thoughts for today and every day!

Sharon, condolences on the weather : (
And empathy about the hip pain!
My dining chairs do the same. The good news is we are not falling apart... just sitting in the wrong chair!

Hey girls!

Missy, all the kitties up for adoption are so sweet  Very sad about the kitties who were returned, makes me sick to think about it. :cry2: My heart hurts for all the kitties and I so hope they find homes soon. Goldie is adorable, she reminds me of Zoe. And omigosh those kittens are beyond precious! LOVE kittens! The boots you tried on look great, but I get that they are too much of a tripping risk. The sneakers you bought are really cute! The meme is very true, and good words to keep in mind. Very comforting and inspiring.

Marcy, I still check with map quest too, I like having an idea of what roads I'll be taking. I'm terrible at reading a map as well, glad I don't have to do that anymore. It's terrible your employees are gossipping about others, and you were right to call them on it. Hopefully they got the message :roll Lol to that meme! Your breakfast sounds delicious! Glad to hear you had a great time getting together with your family. Whew, that was a close call with your earring, thank goodness you only lost a back.

Austina, thank you so much for posting that advice, very good to know; I saved it for future reference. Ugh, sorry about the rain! We had a torrential downpour today for a while, dh said he had a hard time seeing on his way to work. Keeping Colin in my thoughts and I hope things go ok at his appointment tomorrow. Lol to the dentist helping him out with his smile! I really like the meme you posted, very good things to keep in mind.

CJ, awesome that your hair came out well and you are happy with it!

PB, my dh has traveled a lot throughout his career, which is over 30 years! With each new position he'd get, he'd say to me "I won't have to travel as much with this job" and it was never true lol. It's like second nature to him now, getting on a plane is like taking the bus to him. In fact, sometimes he gets a little impatient with people who aren't as seasoned as he is and I have to remind him not everyone travels every other week! I hope your day with the auditors went as smoothly as possible. Sounds like you had a very busy and fun weekend! I love to people-watch too, so many interesting people out there.

Sharon, ugh, I am just so sorry about the brutal winter you have had, it really can take a toll on the spirits after a while. I hope your hip pain lessens for you soon. I've been having a few aches and pains myself lately, and luckily they eventually go away.

Have a good Tuesday everyone!

Hi NIRDIs!

Sharon, maybe if I post that sign at my desk they’ll retire me right out the door. The best part is they have to pack up my desk and have it delivered to my door. I am glad your husband worked from home with all of that snow. This time of year it’s hard to take winter anymore. I hope your hip / glut is feeling better. I get sore setting on our dining room table chairs for more than a few hours.

Missy, I am glad the kitties weren’t troubled by the thunder. I saw one of the news shows had some reporters on the street there today and they looked cold. I very much agree you occasionally need a good cry but generally I do well with a good laugh. I ignored my negative nelly today but have my one on one with her tomorrow. I am going to ask her how she feels when people talk about her and say unkind or judgmental things. My follow up question to hopefully her positive response is why do you do it to other people? Very cute kitties. I like those boots but I wouldn’t like those heels. Those are nice looking sneakers. That is a great sentiment. If it wouldn’t offend my employee I’d give it to her.

PierreBear, it sounds like you had a fun and busy weekend. I like seeing everyone dressed up for prom night. Well I am old and my “children” make me feel older. As a matter of fact the lady who waited on me at a drive through tonight gave me a senior discount. I bet the kitty litter buckets are heavy. We occasionally go grocery shopping during the week and I always say we should do this every week and then we never do. I wish we had a TJ or WF to shop at here.

Austina, I am sure you are careful with your contacts. I originally wore the hard contacts and those suckers could shoot across the room; some i never found. I was always very careful about plugging the sink when I wore contacts; I guess I’ve just got careless. I like that - telling my employees “hey you were warned”. I do have a name tag with has my name and behavior counselor. Maybe I should wear it at work. My eyes are the same. The central gray / fuzzy spot is there but overall the vision in that eye has improved. Yesterday was my last day of using those eye drops and I’ll get another retinal scan on May 1st. I hope the edema doesn’t get worse; it’s not all gone but way better. Thanks for asking. Your quotes are fabulous.

Jimmianne, are you packed for your trip yet?

Junebug, Marty and I have had some tense moments when he all of a sudden wants me to look up something on a map. I think both of our DH’s are seasoned travelers. Marty calls the others amateurs. Did you get any of the rain and snow there?

It’s gorgeous here today. Wind is coming back tomorrow and maybe some snow on Wednesday.

I didn’t hear from the CPA today so I called the office and the guy I talked to said no our taxes aren’t ready yet but yes they filed an extension on the 14th. I hope that’s true. Oh no M&M are going to jail for tax evasion.

Laters,
Marcy

Missy, love the sneaks! And when I was in grade school, I wanted a pair of short white boots that we called "go go boots" because they were on the dancers on music shows like Hullabaloo, American Bandstand, and others. They had dark heels though, and my mother never let me have a pair. You go go, girl!

Hi to all!

Marcy, yes I'm packed! I left my rolling case in France so I had to buy a new one. It may be the best yet...a Steve Madden the size of a briefcase with spinning wheels.
What goes in it: set of pink rose twin sheets with tie ribbons on the pillow cases, glass pebbles for the garden, dress and heels for the wedding and a roll of gold vinyl dots for decorating. That's it! So
practical lol. But hard to find these things there, so really it does make sense...to me at least.
I am going crazy over the house buying details. For instance I just got a letter (4 pages in french) telling me to send the house deposit to the notary I agreed to use. But I didn't agree to that notary, I have my own, and there were no wiring instructions included anyway. So I can't send the money, It's not a scam, as the agent is a family friend, it's just really poor communication.
The whole deal had been this level of annoying, added to the fact that DD treats me like an idiot. Like...Just chill mom. What's the big deal. The universe will provide clarity at the right time. Omg now I'm laughing. It really does help to write these things down.
Im so frustrated that I might have to buy more bling!
Speaking of which
I did get my Tiffany band, its heavy and I love the way it reflects light. That was a surprise. It reminds me of the way my George Nelson clock design uses light to be interesting to look at.

Good morning girls!

Rainwood haha I did say to the SW salesperson the white shorter boots remind me of the 50s/60s and a shorter version of the Nancy Sinatra boots I so loved. That song gets me every time. "These boots were made for walking". Thanks for the boot and sneaker love.

Junie haha yes your dh is a seasoned traveler and I can understand his impatience with the cluelessness of some other travelers. Combined with inconsiderate behavior of others (they are the center of the universe after all right lol) it can make for traveling challenges. Glad he is home again for now.

Marcy sorry your taxes weren't completed on time but good that your CPA filed an extension. YAY for your weather being gorgeous by you but BOO to more snow for you guys on Wednesday. Callie told me they were still getting snow omg. It's a cuckoo winter and I hope there is no snow by us anymore till next winter. And I hope whatever snow you do get clears up immediately.

So pleased for you that your vision has improved and fingers crossed for your next retinal scan. (((HUGS))) and healing vibes for continued improvement.

Hahaha about Mr Muscles getting upset when it comes to you map reading. OMG that is Greg and me. Twenty years ago he quickly realized there was just no possibility of me being able to read the map or navigate. Thank goodness now for apps like MapQuest and Waze and we use those liberally. You wouldn't have wanted to be in the car with us on road trips 2 decades ago when we were first learning I could NOT read a map. It is definitely a brain thing I am missing. No question. But at least you and I have our sense of humor about it Marcy.

And one more thing Marcy...post the sign, post the sign, :appl:Early retirement yeahhhh:whistle::lol:

CJ woohoo that your hair color turned out just right.:appl: Mousey is doing so well. I love her and I also love your other 2 sweet fur babies. You are such a good momma to all of them. Never doubt that for a moment. I am telling it like it is.

Austina glad Colin's dental appointments are going well and thank you for the inspirational quotes. There are no shortage of inspirational materials around and it is always nice to read them and incorporate them into one's philosophy. One is never too old to learn from life and in fact when one stops wanting to learn that is the beginning of stagnation and lack of joie de vivre. Hope your window measuring went smoothly yesterday Austina. Haha yes we enjoy shopping and truth be told Greg doesn't hate it though his tolerance for duration of shopping is considerably shorter than mine. I could go for hours and hours but he is quite adept at occupying himself while I overshop.

Sharon hope your hip/glute recovers and you start feeling no pain. It really *is* always something but when the something isn't overwhelming in number it isn't too challenging to deal with right? It's just when the always somethings keep adding up without the original issues being resolved. But hey we are tough (at least that is what I keep telling myself lol) and can roll with it and make the best of the situation. It is what we have to do. (((Hugs))). And cmon weather warm up for our dear Sharon pretty please.

Jimmianne WOW. :kiss2: That is a substantial band. I think I love it. Mildred can hold her own. But I will say that Tiffany band would look smashing all on its own too. Sorry the France house purchasing process is frustrating and lol of course it is easy for your DD to sit back and say chill and it will all work out. IIRC you are doing all the work re the home purchase. Kids.:wink2: Glad you are all packed for your trip. Bon Voyage and enjoy and please keep us posted as time and energy and internet allow. (((Hugs))).

And yes it sure does help...writing down your angst and your fear and your worries really *does* help Sweet Jimmianne. :appl:

PB I love people watching too especially on the subway. But I do it as surreptitiously as possible because you never know who might not like being observed. What a lovely weekend you had with friends and date night too. Thigh high boots. I have those...when done right it isn't too much IMO but I know they are more often OTT than not. Haha. Hope your work week is going well and cannot wait to hear about your latest culinary adventures.

I had a good day yesterday and enjoyed a marathon chat in the late afternoon with the most lovely and wonderful good hearted person. Truly a gem of a girl. I also made an appointment with a dermatologist who is world renowned in dealing with alopecia. But I really was hesitant to do so as the consult is $1,250. Yup you heard that right. Makes me a little sick but after some thought I realized I didn't want to leave any stone unturned though I know the prognosis is dim for halting the process and you cannot grow hair where the scarring has occurred (my left eyebrow almost 60% right now). But I didn't want to look back on this and say I didn't do everything I could for this situation. But ouch. I cannot do the mainstay treatment of corticosteroid injections and I hope the physician doesn't then just give up on me. But I won't knowingly put myself into a situation where I could have worse problems. The other meds (orals) are anti malarials etc and again very hard on one's body. So I may see this doctor get the biopsy and do nothing. Sometimes nothing is the best course of treatment. We will see.

Sharing some photos from just now for @CJ2008 @PierreBear and any other of the NIRDI aunts who are interested. As you can see they really don't change their positions too often. :cool2:

Enjoy this Tuesday girls and hugs!:wavey:

Good morning! Mystery box challenge class was interesting yesterday. Only 2 classmates were doing their test. One person got the chicken and striped bass and the other person got the chicken and flank steak. They both finished their creation with plenty of time to spare. It was fun being their helper and doing all those side tasks (peeling, washing, grabbing ingredients) so they can focus on their meals. Watching them do their test made me feel more comfortable but at the same time I’m a little concerned about small things that might throw me off. At home when I cook, I always use a rice cooker and just have store bought salad dressing etc. At school, well you better make your rice on the stove top and you need to make your own dressing…. Hahaha… I’ll figure it out but I think it’s small things that will throw me a curve ball. So when it’s my turn, I’ll for sure get chicken and either shrimp/striped bass. I hope I get shrimp! Easier to deal with and cook with… plus I’m terrible at deskinning fish. Full report next week and how I do but I hope I have fun doing it. Ya’ll have a good day!

@canuk-gal – Sorry to hear about your left hip/glute hurting. This is a physical therapy trick I’ve learned overtime from running/cycling. You can roll on a tennis ball or anything practically. Either sitting down on the floor or have it propped on the wall. Just dig into that glute area and hopefully the muscles will release and give you some relief.

Sounds like you need another trip to somewhere warm and dry though! : )

@Austina – hehehe well I’ll just have to use my imagination that you were the “Vanna White (wheel of Fortune reference… are you familiar with that reference or is that a US show only) of the show.” They served southern food but with a modern twist. I know it sounds silly but the biscuits that they served…. Wow… best biscuits I’ve ever had. People apparently come just to try their biscuits.

Colin is getting quite the makeover. Good for him!

@junebug17 – Kudos to your DH being a road warrior. My DH used to travel weekly and glad he is local now. There were some perks with all those collected travel points and actually we finally depleted it all that we are for the first time in 10 years buying airline tickets without points. Hahaha man… sticker shock! Well hopefully your DH has traveled to fun places and you get to do a flex trip to join him? Or do you like the solo time alone to do a girl’s night etc?

@marcy – Oh my… hope all the taxes get there timely. By the way, how is Marty dealing with his work? Still anxiety or is there a plan in place now?

@Jimmianne – Nice look! Such a unique band! Are you wearing your bling when you travel to France or going to keep that puppy safe at home?

@missy – Hugs and hope that you are feeling well.

@rainwood – hello! What’s the weather like in your part of the world?

HI:

Thanks for the healing vibes with my hip. And I've decided NOT to discuss the weather anymore! LOL

@pb--the tennis ball is great advice--thanks!!!! The recliner is the best place for me--no pressure felt.

@missy--hope your consult goes well and I am of the same mind--do what you can for yourself (leave no stone unturned). I hope the consult yields useful and practical treatment.

Have a great trip JA! Your wedding band is stunning!!!!! Me luvs!!!!

Hello to all NIRDIS:wavey:

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

Safe travels @Jimmianne your new band is very striking, so unusual and a nice compliment to Mildred. I hope you can sort out the house issues easily.

It’s easy to cook rice on the stove top @PierreBear, just remember to wash the rice thoroughly to get rid of the excess starch, then it won’t stick together :mrgreen2: You’ll be fine with the mystery box, I’ll keep every crossed you get shrimp :D Do you already have ideas of what you’ll cook?

I do know who Vanna White is, but there was no wheel of fortune in the show, just me, the main presenter, lots of gemstone beads, findings and tools

I hope your consult yields some positive results @missy. It’s always worth exploring every avenue, because strides in medical matters are made every day, hopefully the new Dr will be up with the latest treatments. The consult fee is certainly hefty, but if he can help, it’ll be worth it.

The kitties look so comfortable, do they have their own spot on the bed, or do they shuffle around?

Don’t worry @marcy , the NIRDI posse will organise a jailbreak if you get put away. We’ll all put on our sparklies and temporarily dazzle the guards to bust you out

I’m glad that the drops have been helping, and hoping your next scan will show no further deterioration.

I hope your pain is easing @canuk-gal , take care.

Hi @CJ2008 and @rainwood hope all is well with you.

We got the quote for the windows this morning and have given them the go ahead, so in a couple of weeks they’ll be replaced.

Colin went up to London this afternoon, the consultant says he thinks the thing on his forehead is precancerous, so has removed it and sent it for analysis, results back in a week. He also removed a mole from his back, and treated a patch of solar keratosis on his solar panel  So all good.

Has Greg got his results back yet @missy?

:wavey:

marcy let's hope so. But if I have a hard time with the taxes this year I have nobody to blame but myself. I keep getting annoying email messages from the CPA like "anyime!" when I apologized to him that he ended up having to go to the post office because for some reason the USPS tried to deliver the envelope Saturday and not Thursday which is when they had told me it should arrive. So 2 days late. As of today, my CPA has not emailed me to let me know he did actually pick up the taxes. Oy.

marcy I hate when DH asks me to help him "navigate". I am not good at it and I think he asks so that he can enjoy berating me while I anxiously try to hurry up and and answer whatever it is he's asking me. :D

missy I like those sneakers very cute. But definitely not cuter than the kitties. :sun: and I know you agree with that. I am always so late to trends like I hate the blocky heel now but in like a year when nobody is wearing it I'll be thinking I should get it :D

Thanks for the kind words about Mousey and my kitties. (((hugs)))

So glad you made the appointment with that dermatologist. I hope it yields something positive for you.

pierre what kind of restaurant/food was it? (Oh, I see austina beat me to that.) Good biscuits aren't silly at all when they are good they are so good. Good luck on your mystery box challenge class pierre, we're all rooting for you.

jimmianne are you more detailed and more of a planner than your DD.

thanks austina and LOL to rescuing marcy with bling. You guys can use that and I'll be the fluffy anti bullets superhero :D hope Colin's mole comes back OK.

thanks june!

Not much to share on my end that I can think of. Except internet was down for a few hours yesterday which was super annoying and that over the weekend I found a new comedian, James Acaster. So funny. Love him.

OK everyone have a great day hugs to all :wavey:

Hahaha Greg just sent me a security video from a few minutes ago labeled afternoon frolic. LOL so adorable. Cannot share the video here but here is a screen shot. Precious.
