Now I really did it :((

Hi NIRDI's!

Missy, too funny Greg took a picture of the iPad Pro. That is the larger one; it is very nice too. I was sure that was yours when I saw the picture. That cake was such a mess but it sure tasted good; it was a fun memory. I hope both of your doctor appointments went well today. I am glad to hear you slept okay last night. I sadly did not. How fun to meet Kate and company; love the bling photo. Yes, Bubbalah looks gorgeous in the current setting and hopefully you'll find that perfect vintage solitaire setting soon.

Jimmianne, how was the gym? I am not sure if Marty lifted today or not. He wandered upstairs to tell me he didn't feel good but of course he doesn't know what's wrong. He isn't the easiest person to talk to when he's sick. I asked if it was stomach, headache, cold and got I don't know. I asked if I could get him anything and he said no so left him alone. I just found a $40 charge to a wings place; maybe his lunch made him sick.

Austina, I'm with you on being good on presents for some time. We used to say "this can be my birthday present" or whatever but we quit that charade. I swear we must be good for the next 50 years. My mom and I were very close and I do miss her. I was very close to my dad as well. I have many pleasant memories that help me. Thank you. That is too bad about the movie; I'll remind myself not to rent it when it comes out on video on demand.

Work was a little slow today but I had plenty of busy work to keep me busy. I turned my meetings this afternoon in to chit chat sessions so it was an easy day. I did have to get after old Neg Nel to get some work done before she went home today. How dare i, huh?

Take care.
Marcy

Marcy, aw. Poor guy. I guess it is good that he does not want you sitting at his bedside 24/7. Is he feeling better this morning?
Oh the gym. Two days later everything hurts. From under 10 reps at the lowest weight! Me! Ms.Macho farm lady, out of shape!!! I am telling you seriously, get thee to a gym post haste if you are ever going at all! LOL don’t wait until you are old like me.:errrr:

@marcy aww poor Marty...hope he is feeling better today. Sorry work was slow but glad you got what you needed accomplished done and too bad for Neg Nel. Thanks for asking about the doctor appointments. Greg has to go back for treatments and the treatment on my finger was repeated but he said I am going to need hand surgery with a hand surgeon so I am just leaving it after this last treatment and unless it interferes with mobility I am not having surgery. The specialist feels I should have the surgery but last visit he agreed with me and now he changed his tune. I guess he realized that his puncturing and draining isn't working and it's getting bigger. I am taking a wait and see approach. I am sorry you did not sleep well the other night. Hope you slept better last night. Surprisingly as of now I slept OK 2 nights in a row woohoo. Maybe Daylight Standard Time agrees with me.

@Austina I agree, I need absolutely nothing. I dont even want anything except a proper setting for Bubbalah and even that isn't something I am in a huge rush for...if the right setting comes along I will take it and in the meantime I will see what happens...I do love Caysie's work and she embodies the femininity and gracefulness I appreciate in my jewelry. A few people brought up some excellent points about vintage settings perhaps not being sturdy enough to hold Bubbalah and the prongs might be brittle...so at the very least I would need to build up any vintage setting I choose and it might be simpler and smarter just to start from scratch. We will see. I am enjoying the hunt. Sending you bucketloads of insurance company dust.

Hello @Jimmianne oh sounds like you had quite the workout at the gym. Sorry you are in some discomfort. Slow and steady and perhaps take the day off today or do a very light workout (my choice for you would be the latter just so you keep going) and just do a light workout the rest of the week and alternate what body parts you concentrate on with strength training so you do different muscle groups those alternate days. And most of all enjoy moving. I find it so relaxing to just let my thoughts wander as I am working out so I am not just working out my body but find it good for my mind as well. Cardio and strength training and meditation. I combine it all and it really does make things better. Sending you healing hugs.

@Tekate enjoy the museum today and have fun...sorry our weather is gloomy but I know you will have a bright sunny day. XO

@Sandeek just saying hi and checking in with you. Hope your week is going smoothly and sending you hugs.

Hello to everyone else. And @PierreBear just wanted to say thank you and you are a sweetheart in every sense of the word. (((Hugs))).

Have a marvelous Tuesday girls and get out and vote if you have not already and you are in the USA.
Leaving you with a photo..thoughts?

I'd keep the basket simple & have everything perfect, of course.

The ring's 'cathedral' sides of the shank remind leaves quite closely - so I found myself thinking of the diamond in the ring as a flower between two leaves www (I love wild tulips!)

HI:

Been offline, sorry for the delay in replaying @missy . I had to buy a size larger than I normally wear (my foot 7.5-8 and the Olangs are a size 39).

Here are the boots https://olangcanada.com/en/

cheers--Sharon

Hello lovelies

I do like that setting @missy, it won’t detract from Bubbalah, the shoulder detail is just enough of an enhancement and plenty of girdle protection =)2

I’m with you on leaving surgery unless it becomes absolutely necessary, or you’re in constant pain. Hope Greg’s treatment goes well and is successful. Colin has an appointment next Tuesday for his MOHs treatment.

Fortunately Colin seems to have forgotten about my ring last year supposedly being for this birthday @marcy, so I’m well ahead with presents:lol:

You’re using different muscles @Jimmianne - when I was weight training I always said I had aches in muscles I didn’t even know I had:lol:

Well, much as we expected, the assessors appointed by the insurance company have come up with a derisory offer, which won’t even cover half the cost of the repairs. We had a telephone consultation with an independent assessor who’s advised we make a claim on our own home policy, which we’ll do tomorrow :x2

I just want it to be done with

Anyway, enough of that, hope all the NIRDIS are ok :wavey:

I'm excited....I have something coming to me in a couple of days.
Photo shared this AM...
Fingers crossed it fits.

Thank you @canuk-gal for the link. Yes I want the glamour boors in red. Will size up. Will find an online store tomorrow. TY!

@Austina oh I hope you can resolve this matter soon. Lots of dust coming your way. For Colin and the gate.

Have a wonderful evening girls!

Hi NIRDI's!

Jimmianne, I am sorry you are sore from your gym visits. Hang in there; it will get better. That made me think of that joke about the lady we gets a personal trainer for her birthday. The first day she is thrilled and excited and by the 3rd or 4th day she is plotting how to murder him. Thank you. Marty is feeling better today.

Missy, thank you. Marty is doing better this morning. I hate to hear your surgeon thinks you need hand surgery; I'd deal with it until it became necessary too. Sometimes messing with those kind of things make them worse. Big hugs to you. Sorry to hear Greg has to go back for treatments as well. That is awesome standard time agrees with you. I was wide awake by 5 today. Definitely hunting for the perfect setting is fun. I think that is worth considering having a new ring made for stability. That is awesome how much joy and peace you get out of your workouts. That setting you posted is very pretty. Oh you have something new on the way? Do tell.

Austina, tell Colin good luck with his MOHs treatment. Good deal you are well ahead on presents. I swore I wasn't going to buy anything else this year after paying for our new windows. I obviously STRETCHED the truth on that one. :D How awful about the low ball offer from the insurance company. Do you think your insurance company would try to get a better settlement for you? Of course all of that would delay getting your gate fixed. Grr.

Marty is on his way to LA; he won't be back until next Thursday.
I ordered my pendant; it will arrive on Monday.
Not much new here.
Take care.
Marcy

GM girls!

@marcy yay glad Marty is feeling better this morning. Sorry he is away on another business trip but hope you have fun activities planned with friends while he is gone and the time goes fast for you. Thank for you your warm hugs and right back at ya (((hugs))). I don't want to say yet what it is I ordered but fingers crossed...I have so much trouble visualizing things so all I know is I hope it fits and looks good too. If it doesn't fit back to the drawing board...

How exciting you ordered your new pendant and it will arrive soon. I cannot wait to see it on you Marcy and hope it is exactly what you want...it is lovely and who doesn't love the color blue?

Safe travels to @Tekate today and hello to @Sandeek...hope all is going well with you!

And hope everyone is having a good week. Today is a nice day (I think) and I am actually expecting a visit from my parents this afternoon if they are feeling up to it so I hope that happens. They are getting older (aren't we all) and very frail and I think about that often. I know life can change in a moment (and often does) so I am holding on to every single moment and cherishing the time together. Life is fleeting. I think of that quote by the person I won't mention
“Life is full of misery, loneliness, and suffering - and it's all over much too soon.”

On that note lol have a good day girls and (((hugs))).

Leaving you with 2 sketches my niece drew...I might be biased but I think she has talent.

Hi Nirdis!

Missy, you gave a little hint so I think I know what you're waiting on! Exciting, fingers crossed it works out. Your niece's sketches are wonderful, I think she is talented as well! I'm sorry about your finger and I hope surgery won't be necessary. Sending good thoughts to Greg on his treatments. How great you were able to get together with Kate and her niece! Love the bling pic, beautiful rings  Have a nice visit with your parents if they end up coming, which I hope they do!

Marcy, I'm glad you had a good time with your sister and bil, and good for you for starting your Christmas shopping. And yay to buying a present for yourself too haha. Your comment about your mother not wanting you to spend money on flowers made me smile because my mother would say the same thing! Love the story about the lemon cake, so nice to have special memories like that. Glad to hear Marty is feeling better. I hope the week goes by fast for you. The good news is it's Wednesday already! And I'm so excited you ordered your pendant, can't wait to see it!

Lol to going to the gym instead of drinking Jimmianne! Drinking can be the backup plan haha. Hang in there at the gym and just take it slow and steady, you don't want to do too much at once anyway, better to build up over time.

Austina, I didn't love A Star is Born either, I had trouble warming up to the characters. So sorry about the ongoing issues with the gate repair and I hope your insurance company can help. As you said, at this point the important thing is to just get it fixed and have this behind you.

Had a busy day yesterday and had to run through the raindrops all day lol - gym, dentist, grocery store, and bank. Today is sunny thank goodness as I have a few more errands to run.

Thinking of all the nirdis and I hope everyone is having a great Wednesday!

Missy your niece has talent.

Ladies please send PS dust my way. I lost one of my diamond pendants today. My nail is short that I hold the clasp with and I had a difficult time hooking the chain so obviously I missed. The chain was over my shoulder when it got to work but the pendant was gone. It’s a white gold tear drop mounting with a 1/4 carat diamond. Hopefully it’s on the floor somewhere at home. I sent an email to our security department letting them know if someone turns it in at work.

Have a great day and laters.

Sending lots of luck and positive thoughts that you find it @marcy!

Bucketloads of ***DUST*** being sent your way dear @marcy!!!!! Hope you find your diamond pendant!!!!

Hello lovelies

Oh no @marcy, I hope your pendant turns up safely. Colin did something similar with a brand new watch. We went out, and then he realised it wasn’t on his wrist. We retraced all our steps from the car to the venue, but nothing. Fortunately when we got home, he found it on the bedroom carpet. Hopefully, as soon as you get home, it’ll be there.

Glad to hear that Marty is feeling better, but boo to him being away for a week.

I hope your pendant arrives safely and is everything you’re hoping for.

Funnily enough, when I mentioned the film to some of the younger ladies at Pilates, they thought it was great and didn’t notice all the swearing. Must be an age thing @junebug17 because I find that kind of excessive bad language, just totally unnecessary and lazy writing. Hope you got all your errands sorted today and the weather held fair for you.

Everything crossed that the setting works out @missy , can’t wait to hear all about it. If it’s meant to be, it’ll be the perfect fit.

Your niece has real talent, the drawings are great, clever girl.

I hope your parents were up to the visit today, and you enjoyed each other’s company.

It poured today, but we managed to use the cover of the woods to not get too wet this morning.

Thank you for your continued good wishes for Colin, we’re trying not to get too worked up about the gates, just waiting to hear from our insurance company now.

Big wave out to all the NIRDIS, halfway through the week

:wavey:

@missy a fantastic time with you and your gorgeous, kind and loving husband.. My niece is your fan for life.. she thinks you are cooler than cool and that we are cool because we love diamonds!

My trip home today was great, GREAT visit with my nephew, wife, their daughter/stepdaughters, my nephew's brownstone is big but 4 flights if stairs is 4 more than I like :) but I did it!

John and I are going out tonight for Thai! so I will check in tomorrow and see what is new with everyone.. I hope everyone is well, happy and enjoying the good weather today at least in NYC and Maine!.

Hi NiRDI’s!

Missy, I hope you love your new treasure. And definitely who doesn’t love blue? I think your niece if very talented at drawing. I hope your parents did come to visit and you had a nice time. I so agree - Life is fleeting and definitely over too soon. Sadly it does change in an instant.

Junebug, I just ordered a few things for Marty for Christmas. I am limited for ideas. The games and note pads I’ve put in his stockings recently never got used; I should dig them out and use them again. I can totally see how our mothers would tell us not to spend money on them. I can anxious to see my pendant. If I don’t like the stone I can make a trip to Denver soon and pick out a loose stone and pick out a setting for the pendant. You did keep busy with errands; darn it you had to dodge the rain. We are getting snow tonight.

Sharon, that ring is huge. Made me think of Elizabeth Taylor’s huge pear ring. I like to watch the Lucille Ball video when she got Liz’s ring stuck on her hand.

Austina, I am glad that Colin found his new watch. I bought some PC ACA studs when they had their ready set to go earrings and lost one of them. I found it 5 days later by the foot on our coffee table. I hope I like the pendant I ordered. That shade of blue is my favorite in sapphires. Good deal the woods sheltered you from the heavy rain. Tell Colin I am sending him my best wishes for tomorrow.

Kate, too cute that your niece is a Missy fan. How could she not be? And obviously she is now a diamond lover for life as well.

I told myself all day my pendant would be on the floor of our closet; it has carpet so logically I wouldn’t hear it when it hit the floor. Sadly it wasn’t there. I watched for it all the way to my car, checked my car, the garage and driveway (I walked the trashcan out this morning) and didn’t see it anywhere. I am consoling myself that at least it’s not my CBI (my most expensive pendant) or even worse my heart pendant that contains my original engagement diamond in it. I’ll continue to look around for it.

We’ve got a few inches of snow already. It’s like winter is here. Strange.

Take care.
Marcy

Good luck, Marcy. It’s not a good feeling to lose a diamond, but I’m glad it wasn’t the two you mentioned.

Thanks, June. I’ll go back to the gym today for a slow brief workout!

Sharon  “it is a top heavy ring”. And would probably make a good weapon as well! Lol

Tekate, my mind is spinning, thinking of you getting to spend time with Missy and Greg. I know you had a wonderful time!

Missy, yes your niece has talent! that is easy to see. I hope eveyone encourages her to keep up the good work.

No real news here. Nothing lost, nothing found.
I staged my dd’s airbnb yesterday and it looks fabulous if I do say so myself.
Then I went to a French conversational group and it was very interesting...for two reasons...first, I was having trouble understanding the others (intermediate level with american accent) even though they were speaking very slowly. Yesterday a fluent and rapidly speaking person attended. Voila! Much easier to undertand with french accent and sentence stucture and flowing speech. The lesson for me was...go back to France to learn French!
And the other thing was, what she was talking about ......allergies; food and environmental, and how Americans do better in France. I was dumbstruck. That is exactly what I have been experiencing, but I thought I was making it up. So, yet another reason to live in France. Girls, the universe is talkig to me. Haha

GM girls!

Hi @junebug17 glad you got your errands accomplished through the raindrops. I cannot believe it is the end of the year soon and I have to see my dentist too for a cleaning and redo of one of the fillings since it was temporary at best and need a crown I think. That is not the kind of crown I want lol. Thanks for your lovely words re my niece. I had a wonderful visit with my parents. No arguments at all which is quite unusual for my mother and me.:cheeky: We took a nice walk but couldn't get more than a few feet at a time without mom stopping to say hi to all the dogs and striking up conversations with their owners. LOL seriously took us 2 plus hours to walk 6 blocks yesterday. We did meet some nice dogs and some nice people too but walking with my parents is super exhausting as I prefer to walk briskly and that is not how they walk. LOL.

@Tekate we so enjoyed meeting you and your dear niece. She is lovely and thank you for your and her kind words. I hope you come back to visit again soon and am so glad you had a lovely time with your family. Yikes to 4 floors of up and down during your visit there but you are in good shape Kate so no problem for you! I could not imagine others doing all those stairs. Cannot wait to hear about the jewelry museum exhibit. We hope to check it out before it leaves. Hope you enjoyed the Thai food last night and that you are having nice weather. Today is our last nice weather day for a while I think and it is getting much colder here by the weekend.:(2 I think I might be wearing my winter coats by the weekend.

Awww @marcy I am so sorry and I am still holding out hope you find your diamond pendant...sending buckets and buckets of lost and found dust to you!!! And (((hugs))). I feel in my bones it *will* turn up...I have a sixth sense about these things. Cannot say when but I feel yes it will turn up. Fingers crossed for you! Oh no to snow...maybe you need to look into those Olang boots Sharon linked me too...they look beautiful and functional. Please drive safely. Thanks for your kind comments re my niece.

@canuk-gal wowza! I love that ring. That is a beautiful statement ring if I ever saw one...turquoiselicious :kiss2:. Thank you for linking it and it certainly brightened up my mood this AM. Not sure but I woke up in a funk. I think I am anxious about what is coming today and what is going to happen and I keep telling myself it is only bling but somehow that doesn't make me feel better. LOL.

@Austina thank you for the lovely comments re my niece. Glad you didn't get soaked yesterday when it poured. Keeping good thoughts for Colin and his upcoming procedure and always keeping good thoughts for every NIRDI and events happening in their lives. The gate issue will get sorted out but I am so sorry about all the aggravation you guys are going through right now. I am glad Colin found his watch. It is easy to misplace things. I do it all the time. I don't even know what I am missing I am so disorganized.:oops2:

@Jimmianne wonderful that you are becoming so fluent in french and yes being in France is great practice. And doesn't suck either lol. Glad you enjoyed the french conversational group the other day. Wow I did not realize Americans do better in France re allergies/environment and food. How about sleeping? Is it better in France for you too?

Thank you for the compliment re my niece's drawings and yes my family is encouraging her. I come from artists (I sadly have no talent) as my mom and dad and sister are very artistic and talented too. My mom has a BA in fine arts and graduated from Pratt in the 60s and she really has talent. They never did anything professionally with their talent but we reaped the benefits of their skills in that my dad made jewelry for my mom and my mom painted murals on our walls in the playroom when we were little and she gave me paintings of hers that I adore. I inherited none of that skill but did take lots of art classes when younger. My sister is talented too and glad my nieces inherited that. Another of my niece's sketches.

@Jimmianne , Greg and I are waiting for you to come visit soon...don't you hear the universe saying come visit missy and greg...just saying.:cheeky: 8)

@Sandeek good morning! How are you feeling? Thinking of you and sending hugs and healing vibes your way. Hope work is going well and can you believe Thanksgiving is just around the corner? I cannot.

Have a lovely day girls. I have plans but cannot share them just yet...very nervous and anxious right now but keep telling myself it is just bling it is just bling...lol:lol:

:wavey:

I forgot to share Greg’s latest creation. Yesterday he took an 8 hour woodworking class in Williamsburg and built his very own bookshelf speakers! And the sound is amazing quality. Sweet.

D8A460BA-7BEA-478E-BF81-ACEEBAFBD7E3.jpeg

Had some more relaxation time than usual since my baking class got canceled. It was due to a gas leak, which out of all the classes to cancel, it was a bit disappointing as we were going to practice making laminated dough - think croissants and danishes! Yummm.... Hopefully we can still make up that class and practice some of the information. Other than that, I'm doing a lot of spring cleaning at my work place as we are moving locations. Why do we still have a typerwriter and a fax machine laying around? haha... the treasures you will find! Hope you have a great rest of the week and weekend! A bit unusual but we have a structural engineer coming on Sunday to investigate the house water issues. He missed his appointment this week but sweet of him to squeeze it in over the weekend.

@missy – Greg is so talented. Did the class teach how to make bookshelf speakers or he just took the class and knew that’s what he wanted to make? What music do ya’ll like to listen to?

Talented nieces! Wish I could draw!

Oh can’t wait to see the bling update. I wasn’t sure what you decided on but I’m sure it will make your diamond look beautiful!

@Jimmianne – Any pictures of your DD’s Airbnb? I wonder what makes allergies less severe for you in France. Whenever we go to Asia, my skin clears up, which surprises me as we are always out on the go in the air pollution and sweating up a storm. I suspect it’s more of what we eat?! It has always been a mystery to me too unless my body’s genetics prefers Asian cuisine etc.

@marcy – Oh no… I’m just catching up and sorry to see that your pendant is missing. I’m hoping it will turn up though! Don’t give up yet.

@Tekate – Glad you had a great trip with family. What a big crowd! Did you do any family activities/traditions?

@Austina – Sorry to hear about the insurance company…. Not even half?! Do you have to meet your deductible if you file on your own home policy? What a bummer! Yes and fingers crossed for Colin’s skin health!

By the way, I saw some article about some amazing “tea places” in London such as Mad Hatter I think it was called. Completely trendy and just for tourists or have you been before/

@junebug17 – Hope things are well in your world. Surprised that you didn’t like that movie A Star is Born. I haven’t seen it but FIL said it was better than expected given the unexpected actors. I’ll catch it once it goes on Netflix haha…

Hi everyone!

@missy, how great that artistic talent runs in your family. Your niece's sketch is so good! It's really nice that she has a creative outlet, it adds joy to one's life to have a passion and a way to express oneself. Good to hear you had such a pleasant visit with your parents. Lol to having to slow down on the walk! Fingers crossed things work out on your upcoming bling project. Wonderful job by Greg! The speakers look great.

Austina, I'm glad you and Colin aren't letting the gate issue bother you, it will get straightened out, hang in there. Sending good thoughts to Colin and hoping it all turns out to be nothing serious.

PierreBear, too bad the class that was cancelled was one you were looking forward to and I hope it can be made up. I think one of the reasons I wasn't really into A Star is Born is that I'm just not that into love stories; I'm more of a thriller/mystery kind of person. I started getting bored lol. And Bradley Cooper's gravelly voice started getting on my nerves ha!

Marcy, I'm sorry your pendant hasn't turned up yet but I'm not giving up hope! Be careful in the snow, it can make things slippery.

Jimmianne, if it's any consolation I'm pretty sore from the classes I'm taking...they're hard! Yesterday we used resistance bands and a small ball and by the end of the class I was thinking of them as torture devices :P2 How interesting that you understood the native French better, your time in France is paying off! Your dd's airbnb is beautiful! I'd be happy to stay there.

Tekate, SO glad you had such a great time visiting your nephew and his family! You've been through some tough health issues recently and it makes me so happy that you are feeling well and having good times. And how fun you were able to meet Missy and Greg!

One bit of exciting news - my niece (brother's daughter) is engaged and I am so happy for her. She and her bf had broken up for a bit but now back together and getting married. :dance:He is her true love, I'm thrilled things worked out for them.

Not much else new around here, just spent the day going to the gym and straightening and cleaning up a bit around the house. Hope everyone is enjoying their Thursday!

Junebug, how wonderful they got back together and are getting married. What is that Shakespeare quote about true love not taking a smooth course?

I’m proud of my dd. She has really used that MIL suite on the lower level of her house to great advantage...first to meet her fiance by taking a chance and renting it to a stranger four years ago, and now it is a thriving business which supports her while she makes the transition to living in France.

I often think back of the first weeks when we first met dd’s future husband. He was just a kid renting a room in her house. He didn’t have a car and we would see him around town on his bike...like, oh there’s that kid again. LOL He was a totally unknown person. That “kid” really changed our lives, didn’t he. And we love him, he loves us, and both families love each other. : )
We never know who will be important in our lives!

I hope your gym soreness is of the good kind that requires a nice hot bath and perhaps a glass of wine, if that is the case, I can’t wait to get to your level of achievement! :saint:

Hi everyone again. I have been trying to catch-up! I know I will miss something so apologies in advance.

@missy Miss it was wonderful to meetup and hang out with you and your husband, a great guy.. I felt like I knew him anyway and he was everything I thought he would be, my niece said to me that she noticed how much he loved you! I said 'me too!' I meant to mention your beautiful earrings you were wearing... they were classy and blingy and beautiful.. but most of my time was spent trying to NOT show you I was oogling Bubbalah! what a stunner that beautiful ring is... my niece said she never thought she would see such beauty in a ring in her whole life, I said "me too!".. looking forward to getting back down your way as soon as I can! Hope all went well on Monday.. hope you are feeling okay.. it was wonderful to meet you Missy! just wonderful.

My niece wears my sister's engagement ring.. My sister was unique and I have told you all about her.. she was beautful, smart, and a great mom. My sister loved ANYTHING to do with Chinese or Japanese culture, in food, dress etc.. she asked for a jade engagement ring and that is what my brother in law gave her.. my sister rarely ever took it off, it makes me sad and happy to see it on Katie's finger.. my sister would be happy she was wearing it I'm sure of that :)

@missy I really really like the new setting you posted, if I had an OEC I would like a setting just like that! A conundrum about your finger.. I'd get surgery I think but as someone else said, sometimes it doesn't work..

@Austina how are you? I hope this danged door problem get's fixed soon. Well let me just say: Why do we have insurance if all they want to is jerk us around... this sounds very annoying Austina..

@Jimmianne what's new your way? nothing much here in Maine, we have gotten rid of our horrid governor.. he was such an embarrassment. Are you doing pilates? It's always hard to listen too long to Trumpsters, I think the gym was a better idea too.. altho I wine does work too! Still hurting from the gym?? Hi NIRDI’s!

Jimmianne, it is no fun losing a diamond. Good idea to take it slow then build up at the gym. Fun to stage your DD’s airbnb. Marty has rented those a few times. We are going to do one next summer for a visit to my in-laws. Great before and after pictures. How cool you are becoming more fluent in “real” French. Follow you heart. I totally love the story about your DD’s fiancé came in to you lives. It worked out great for all of you.

Missy, so far i didn’t find my pendant. I did just realize I should check in the cubes around mine on the floor. i hope you are right that I’ll find it. Greg’s speakers look great. How fun. I am glad you had a nice time with your parents. That is pretty cool so many of your family are artistic.

PierreBear, oh no to a gas leak at school. I hope you do get to make up that class; it sounds delicious. A typewriter eh? I used to do our club newsletter on a typewriter then a word processor. Wow, I’ve done that newsletter for a LONG time. I hope the engineer can find out where the leak is coming from.

Junebug, that is wonderful your niece is engaged. I like to hear he is her true love. Happy endings are the best. LOL to the ‘torture” devices at the gym.

Kate, that is pretty cool your niece wears her mom’s ring. What a nice treasure and tribute to your sister. You are so right that some meetings can drone on. I’ll call in to meetings and let my mind wander or start looking at something on my computer and then all of a sudden here my name but not the question the asked me. Darn!

I was rather anxious about the icy roads so I got up early and was on the road about 45 minutes earlier than normal. Traffic was minimal at that time of day. The roads were pretty slick but I didn’t have any problems. There were several cars in the ditch along the way. We got up to 29 degrees and told Marty to which he responded that is why he was smart to be in LA this week. I called him a name. Ha!
I have a new best friend at work. I am always freezing at work and she showed me where she found the thermostats; I cranked up the one for my area and took off my 3rd sweater, blanket and mittens in no time. We’ll see if someone discovers it and turns it back down. I figure worst case scenario they tell me not to do that again.
I looked around the garage and in my car for my pendant. No luck. I told Marty I’d try not to lose my new sapphire pendant when it shows up. He said he was planning on losing some teddy bears soon. It looks like his iPad will show up on Monday too.

Take care.
Marcy

Here is a "slick" scale from our local police department. I thought it was pretty funny. Their FB is quite entertaining.

@junebug17 Congratulations on the engagement of your niece and her FI!

And good going with continuing working out at the gym. In this weather indoor workouts are the way to go and kudos to you for being dedicated.
Any weekend plans? Supposed to be quite chilly this weekend. I am thinking museum perhaps.

@Tekate aww thank you sweet great Kate! Greg and I both appreciate your lovely and generous comments and right back at ya.:kiss2: I loved your niece's ring from your sister. Beautiful and meaningful. My type of bling. She is a lovely woman and that doesn't surprise me. It runs in your family. I am so sorry about your sister and your niece is lucky to have you there for her. Next time we will make time for bling shopping but :shhh: don't tell your dh.

@PierreBear sorry baking class was canceled and hope the gas leak was fixed promptly. It's funny you mention fax machines. Doctors offices still use them every day so they are actually in existence and not obsolete yet. Greg has commented on that before. He is incredulous they are still being used. But we all know doctors can be archaic in many ways.:oops2: :cheeky:
He took the class specifically to build his own speakers. He is an audiophile and he says the sound is excellent so if he says that it is amazing sound. Turns out if you use the right components you can get excellent sound. Not that challenging. The class was only 3 people including Greg with one expert woodworker teaching. They built their speakers in 8 hours.

Some in progress pics of that day.

and the woodworker shares his workshop with his friend who is an artist too and he uses records for his art. It is very cool. We actually saw his work at the Brooklyn Flea last year. That is how Greg met this woodworker too.

Hope you enjoyed your extra free time for relaxing @PierreBear. What are your weekend plans?

@Jimmianne wonderful photos. You have talent girl.

@marcy More diamond dust coming your way Marcy! Hoping you find the pendant soon!
Lol love that slick scale from your local police department. And sorry don't mean to laugh but traffic in Wyoming:lol:...never thought about that before. Traffic here is horrendous :knockout: and that is an understatement with all the construction that is always occurring here. Took my parents double the time to get here the other day and to get back home. And the beach trip is easy until we hit Brooklyn especially a block or two away from where we live. It is getting to be ludicrous. Sometimes I dream about moving to a place like Wyoming with much less traffic...but I hear you and traffic can be anywhere depending on weather and time of day. Anyway smart of you to go early so you could take it slow and easy on the slick roads. I love hearing that you are being careful because you are carrying precious (you) cargo! I know you are Marty-less this weekend. Do you have anything planned?

@Sandeek how are you doing? Any weekend plans? Thinking of you and sending (((hugs))) your way.

Today is Friday woohoo and last nice day for a while. Rain is coming later in the day. As some of you know the setting did not work out. Adam is an absolute sweetheart though and took me personally to the bench person and then to other dealers looking for a setting. But nothing turned up. So remaining patient and continuing the search. If anyone wants to help me I appreciate that! Bubbalah is 10.5 by 10.85 by 6.83 and I want an 8 prong vintage setting in platinum. But am open to anything that would be beautiful for Bubbalah. Truly. I just want her to be the star of the show. I can go the custom route obviously but prefer not to. For reasons you can all understand. If I have to I will but right now biding my time. Thanks for listening to my ramblings about all of this.

Have a wonderful Friday girls!

Happy Friday! Much rain and cold weather over here but at least that means I can wear boots and a puffy vest on casual Friday. Oh met a very nice lady at the Asian grocery store yesterday. She started speaking to me in Chinese and I responded that I need to practice as I’m seeing my mom soon. We had a full-blown conversation and luckily there weren’t any people waiting in line to check out. Hope to run into her again but it felt like I was meeting an old friend for some reason… just to have an extra connection with someone goes a long way. So that must mean lots when we all have the same interesting in bling. Have a great weekend NIRDI ladies!

@Jimmianne – Merci! Very chic! Can I say that I particularly like those Texas stars on the bed! So much natural light in the place!

@junebug17 – Congratulations to your niece! Did you help out with the diamond? Enjoy your gym time. Are you still running?

Ah, I occasionally like love stories but sometimes it’s a bit too cheesy for me. Oh an actor’s voice is very important to me too!

@Tekate – I’m dreading the move but it’s inevitable… however, it’s financially responsible for us to make the change save on some expenses. Sweet of you, Aunt Kate! I’m a fan of scarves too… sometimes it’s just easier for me to grab a scarf than a jacket.

@marcy – hahaha is your thermostat your new best friend or the person who showed you where it is controlled? Are you allowed to use a portable space heater. Sorry that you haven’t find your pendant yet!!

@missy – Awww very sweet of Adam. How was meeting the bench person? I think it’s such an interesting skill to make settings. I’m guessing it was the person who made my setting? Very neat! With time, the perfect holder of Bubbalah will come along!
