Now I really did it :((

@Austina, I don’t think you are too old. Actually I read “too cold” and thought “why would you wear a bikini if it’s cold??” So as you see, the thought did not enter my mind at all. :geek2:

@missy, sorry about the surgery but happy you will not have to wait too long! Always better to just get it fixed, no matter the problem! :kiss2:

@junebug17 the hotel was amazing! Truly! Built from ice blocks with led lights inside the ice blocks, a bar (!), hotel rooms, an a Chappell for weddings. Unfortunately we are already married LOL. So big!! And with the most amazing snow and ice sculptures !!!! Including a life sized horse !

The temperature was about -5C, so slightly below freezing. It always stabilises about -5C inside for some reason. The experience is based on sleeping in extreme temperature sleeping bags (approved for -30C) so nice and toasty warm all night, just not much room for manoeuvre LOL. And the bed had proper mattresses so no complaints from the princess on a pea lol.

Hugs!

Hi NIRDI’s!

Missy, oh no. I remember that cyst in your finger now; good luck with your surgery on Thursday. You could enable dictation on your iPad for a few weeks. It is probably a good thing to have the surgery soon so you won’t have to worry about it a long time before. I swear you are having Wyoming weather there; I hope it warms up for you soon and you can reschedule the trip to the museum. We got about 6” of snow; surprisingly the main roads were mostly clear. It is definitely in the deep freeze around here too. Tundra is a cutie. I am glad you and Greg managed to get some meds in to Francesca’s lungs. I hope it really helps her and she’ll decide to let you put the nebulizer on her. Hugs to Kisses to her and you.

Scandi, good luck with swimming pool house. I hope training your sweet furbaby goes well. Ooh cookies sound great; maybe I’ll bake some this weekend. Do Snickerdoodles work? Glad you had nice warm sleeping bags. You need bags rated that low around here too; we’d have people come to our summer star parties with really thin sleeping bags and they usually didn’t stay more than one night.

Junebug, that is nice to find a good restaurant nearby. Our old house had a good Mexican restaurant close to us and we probably ate there 3 or 4 times a month. Oh no to getting a flat tire. Feel better.

Austina, i will definitely not waste time watching that movie. Glad to hear Mary Poppins was good. Glad Shirley is headed to California for a while. Darn that restaurant wasn’t very good. I did chuckle at Colin’s comment; sounds like something Marty would say. You don’t want to ask him a question if you don’t want an honest answer.

Marty took me to work this morning. It was -8 with wind chill -35.

Now I am watching the last of that series I Am the Night. Rather interesting.

Take care.

@missy, The pictures from the event look great. You look beautiful. How fun you were able to see your old friend too. So glad you and Greg had a good time. Try not to stress about your hand. After all you went thru with your leg, the hand surgery will be a walk in the park. I’m surprised they were able to schedule the surgery so quickly. I’ll be happy to take care of your ring for you LOL. It sounds like it was easier than you expected giving Frankie her meds (even though you had to hold her down). There was a possibility that someone could have ended up bleeding. Animals don’t take to kindly to being forced to do something they don’t want to do.

@junebug17 , I’m sorry you aren’t feeling well. Drink lots of fluids and take it easy. Hopefully your cold will go away quickly. It is amazing how much we take wireless internet for granted. Did everything go well with getting your DS’s tire fixed. There are so many pot holes in the roads this time of year.

@Austina, I’m sorry you didn’t find s tankini you liked. Just the thought of shopping for any bathing suit sends shivers down my spine. It it sounds as though Shirley is doing as well as can be expected. It’s nice that she was able to go to California.

@marcy, I’m sorry about your knee hurting. I see we are both enjoying this freezing weather....Not! I will be so happy when spring finally arrives. I’m ready to see flowers in my backyard.

@Scandinavian , The cabin problem sounds like a pain in the neck. How did T do in the competition? If I send my fur baby to you, can you please teach her to come to me when I call her name? She only comes if I ask her if she wants a carrot. All 8 pounds of her will run any one down if there is a carrot involved. Have your children had any more ski competitions?

Thinking of you and sending lots of healing dust your way @ringo865

@Sandeek and @av, I hope you had a good weekend,

I found a car I loved today but unfortunately I didn’t fall in love with the price LOL. I keep telling myself I would more than likely only be in love with it for a month.

GM girls, just a quick post before I leave. I have a pre surgical clearance appointment this morning. There is a new complication that I didn't realize yesterday. I am on a med called LOW DOSE Naltrexone. One is supposed to stop it a fun 7 days before surgery because it blocks the opiod receptors and will make pain that much more acute if one is on it and has surgery. As in the pain meds won't work because it is blocking those receptors. Most doctors aren't aware of LDN because it is relatively unknown as a treatment for AI diseases and that is the reason I am on it. So now a dilemma. I don't want to reschedule the surgery (because honestly the more I think about it the more reluctant I am to do this) and I think I am just going to go ahead with it and hope for the best. Never a dull moment.

Thanks @AV_ I need a local block too plus the light anesthesia to put me out. But don't know what they plan to use. I mentioned propofol to him and he mentioned another anesthesia so guess I am just going to hope for the best. Sorry about your dog phobia and whenever you want to share it I am interested to hear about it. I once was bitten by a small dog and for a while I was scared of small dogs but I know you did not experience anything like that.

Hi @Austina thanks for the lovely comments. Francesca is doing OK knock wood. Fred OTOH is being difficult and refusing to eat his med. We have another week of this game but doing the best we can. Soon if I do have the surgery this Thursday I won't be able to help Greg with any of the meds for any of the cats having use of only one hand. But we will adapt and it won't be forever.

I am sorry to hear you were bit by a dog in the past but glad it didn't affect your love of them.

LOL I hear you re bikinis and am with you there. Remember with Bella no one is focusing on your bathing suit. At least that is what I would be telling myself.:cheeky:
Sorry lunch was not yummy and hope you enjoyed the cinema at least.

Hope Shirley has a good trip and that she is surrounded by loved ones.

@marcy OK I might need your help enabling voice dictation on my iPad. That would be great because as you know I tend to be verbose in my posts hahaha. 6 inches of snow isn't too bad right? You are the snow pro though yes we have been getting your weather here lately. Thank you for the hugs and kisses for Francesca and she sends purrs and love your way. Wow to -35 windchill. Glad Marty took you to work. "I am the Night"-never heard of it. Is it good? Hope you have a good Tuesday Marcy and hugs.

@Sandeek yummm to baking and I can smell the cookies from here. Glad you had the day off yesterday and hope your appointment goes well tomorrow. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and hoping you are healing and doing better each day. Sending big (((hugs))) your way. XO.

@Scandinavian I am sorry about the flooding and hope it is being taken care of as we speak. Sending you lots of cleanup and anti flood dust.

@Calliecake thank you. Sorry your car search is continuing. This might break the record for car shopping lol. But at least you are having fun. The surgery won't be as easy as I thought it would be. I cannot use my hand for 2 full weeks. And have to keep it raised. I really am not sure how this is going to go down. At least with the leg I could use both hands. I mean do you realize how often one uses both their hands? Even to squeeze the toothpaste tube and forget about flossing with one hand. Impossible. And cutting my food. I could go on and on but I am strong right. Or at least I keep telling myself that.

@ringo865 thinking of you and hoping treatment is going well. XO.

OK ladies perhaps I will see you later. Have a good Tuesday.:wavey:
Leaving you with an amusing comic...Greg sent it to me this morning but I have the feeling I have seen it (and perhaps shared it) before. Worth repeating though. It's

@missy kind, beautful, loving and STELLAR Missy, thank you for your words about Chris, I am humbled, I love PS.. great great caring people. I hope to see you soon Missy, we leave here Thursday pm and then I go to Newark, Friday I get and go to Austin then Monday back to snowy Maine. I took glance thru some of the posts and I saw something about your hand, I am going to go back up and read as best I can the posts I've not read and come back to this one, and Missy, I would bet you a billion (if I had it) that Greg would be thrilled if you wore a paper bag.. you look so sophisticated and kind, lovely.. the dress was perfect.:love: Missy they are probaby going to saw the bone down, least that is my guess. I am so sorry, don't worry about anesthesia Missy, the best part is when they get you ready with valium or something, I felt like I was flying thru the air! you will be fine.. and better as you heal. how's Francesca? good I hope..

@Austina Hi Austina! hope you are well, what has amazed me here is that everyone is German or Russian, we usually always meet people from England, Scotland, not much Ireland on our travels.. many Germans and they still smoke! weird. I'm going to Austin for the weekend (the shower) so I will be thinking of you for sure and when we finally meet up there or in the city I hope.. I hope you are well and happy and your family to! thank you for the updates on Shirley, it's so hard to do anything for people who lose their spouse/parent/aunt, the empty of feeling of not being able to take their sadness away.. losing someone means all your memories are that, not any new ones to make.. sending you and Shirley a huge BIG Kate hug and sympathy as I know this road. :) Austina given what I have seen her you are totally on the right side and SIZE of women now wearing bikini's.. girl, I grew up near NYC, lived there, seen some really strange sights but nothing like the bikini clad women here.. wowza..me I wear muumuu bathing suits, I think it only fair for the young of the world to remember older women as they were not as they are, in my case :) lol it's been a sight here AND to be fair, I have seen men who look like I did when I was 38 and 9 months preggers with a 9'12oz baby boy retaining enough water to float down the hall at work, and truthfully they look bigger, in speedos no less, now I don't care and I don't think people should be worried all the time about looks but I do think we need a decorum too.. and looking like Santa Claus in a speedo isn't what I think a man should be wearing. Just me I guess. off rant (sorta a rant, more like a wowza!)

@Jimmianne Hey Jimmi! when are you going to France? you may say further one in the thread but I'm trying to reply as I read. I want that brooch! I told Missy she could return my opal ring whenever she has time ;-) :) how's the weather?

@Scandinavian wow!! great pix.. I've read about these hotels.. must have been awesome! great pixs Scandi!!!

@marcy Marcy how's the knee? do you need a new one? sorry that it hurts :(

@junebug17 how are you? okay? I have a cold but am fine really. thank you for your kind words about Chris! I appreciate it Junie I really do.. :)

@AV_ Hi lady! sorry about our dog phobia, but I do understand, we are molded by our enounters in our lives.. sending a hug!

@Calliecake Hi Callie, I have to log off now and want to put a few pix up, so I will come back more and read, I hope you are fine and the weather is oka for you girl!

I have to log off for now I will come back tonite, I will attach some pix.

Miss you girls.. (((((((((((((((NIRDIs))))))))))))))))))

Hi Everyone.

AV, i love dogs and have had as many as eight at a time! But Things can happen very quickly, as I found out with a neighbor’s dog once, so I appreciate your feeling.

Missy, I didn’t know that you were having hand issues. Sorry to hear that and looking foward almost as much as you to having the surgery over with!

TeKate, what can I say? You are being very naughty showing us those beautiful photos of warm weather.

@missy Don't be a hero re. pain. Please ask how bad the blocker can make it - all I know is that I do not ever want any pain. A painless week of wait versus painful post-op is an easy choice; the post-op sounded bad enough without this extra spice.
I so dread these choices that I let the Doc decide nearly always; which way would they do it to themselves...
Hugs! & Fingers crossed! & all that could possibly help.

Hello lovelies

Ugh, rock & hard place come to mind @missy. I would hate to think of you being in any more pain than necessary, are you sure you can’t wait a week?
I’m sorry Fred isn’t being cooperative, little tinker, Dottie is so greedy that anything wrapped in cheese, she gobbles up.

Wow, 8 dogs @Jimmianne, were they all little ones? We’ve always had big dogs, so one was enough. There are 2 lovely young Spin boys needing homes, but I know Dottie wouldn’t like having another in the house.

I hear you about rotund men wearing Speedos @Tekate , you’d think their wives/partners would have a word! The weather there looks fantastic, I hope you’re prepared for Austin, it was a lot colder there than here last night  Thanks for all the kind words.

How’s the weather today @marcy, still arctic? I hope your knee isn’t causing you too much pain today.

Oh no @Calliecake What car did you see that you liked? My main criteria these days, is safety rating over name badge.

Sorry to post and run, my eyes are really tired, and I should get off the iPad.

Big wave out to @AV_ @junebug17 Hope you’re both ok.

Sending gentle hugs to those that need them @Sandeek and @ringo865

:wavey:

@missy, thank you for your nice words! I hope your appointment went well. I'm sorry to hear a med you've been taking will interfere with pain medication and I hope it won't cause you too much of a problem. Yes, it's going to be a crazy few weeks but you and Greg will figure it out as you go along. Sorry you have to go through all of this. Love that cartoon, too funny!

@Austina, I hear you about bikinis...I'm not thrilled about wearing a one piece these days lol. I've been wearing a tankini with a little skirt the past few summers, but I noticed last summer nobody is wearing them anymore. Oh well. Glad you enjoyed Mary Poppins, looks like a cute movie. Hopefully Shirley will find solace being with her family and the trip will bring her some comfort and peace.

@marcy, those are some brutal temperatures, yikes! Hopefully it warms up soon for you. I hope your work week is going well so far, and your knees aren't giving you too much trouble.

@Calliecake, my son's car is up and running again, thank goodness - the potholes are just awful around here. Sorry to hear the car you like is expensive, but if you really love it, maybe it's worth it? :halo:

@Tekate, beautiful pictures, the water is gorgeous! Sorry you have a cold but I'm glad you are feeling ok - I'm fine too, I just have a dry cough that is driving me bonkers!

@Scandinavian, what a great experience! The hotel sounds amazing. Thanks for explaining about the beds, I was wondering how people stay warm at night!

Nothing new to report here...just the usual errands and doing chores around the house. Have a good Wednesday!

Hi NIRDI’s!

Callie, you are so right about taking wireless for granted. I am lost without some device attached to my hand. The place we used to go for our big star party in the summer has no cellular service; it is kind of nice. I was just telling Dee Jay I think both of us are tired of this cold weather. Marty wanted to go out for supper tonight and although I went with him I grumbled about going back out in the cold. I hope your spring flowers survive the cold. What car did you fall in love with? I don’t think any of them are cheap anymore. Ha Ha.

Missy, I hope the pre-surgery went well and that being on that other medicine is okay. i will definitely help you enable dictation on your iPad. No, 6 inches of snow isn’t bad; sadly we are getting more tomorrow and this weekend. At least the temps will be getting back near 30. Tell Francesca Karl send her hugs and kisses too. I hope Fred will take his medicine. I know cats don’t give in easily on that. I am the Night was a mini series on TNT based on a granddaughter / daughter of a LA surgeon who was one of the suspects in the Black Dahlia murder. He was very creepy and rather weird. I don’t know how much of the story was based on reality but I was intrigued enough to tune in so naturally finished watching it. LOL on the cats on the ark. That would be you and Greg.

Kate, Marty was in Serbia and Romania a few years ago for work and he said everyone smokes there too. So many places ban it in restaurants that I am not used to being around it anymore. The knee is improved today and yes I probably need a new one; but so far i choose not to conform. Your vacation sight is gorgeous; love the color of the ocean. All I see around here is white.

Jimmianne, I hope things are going well for you. Are you getting excited for the wedding?

AV, no pain is definitely good.

Austina, it was definitely still cold today but we did get out of the single digits. I totally cranked on my heated steering wheel and seat heater on the way home. My knee was down in the dull ache range today which is good. Thanks for asking. Safety is a definite priority on a car. I saw where Volvo is going to limit their top speeds to 112 for safety. Honestly though if it’s for safety should it be higher than the max speed limit?

Junebug, I am rather tired of these frigid temperatures. We cranked on the fireplace tonight. Work is going okay. I spent most of my morning updating assorted reports and getting posted. Is it getting warm there?

Thank you all for your well wishes on my knee. I’m hanging in there.

We went out for supper tonight and Marty did the dishes. Sweet. Our cleaning lady used Murphy Oil on all of our cabinets today; they look good. They weren’t dirty or in bad shape but I thought it wasn’t a bad idea since we’ve been here for 6 years.

Take care.
Marcy

GM girls!

@junebug17 I hear you on the bathing suits. I only have one pieces and tankinis in my bathing suit wardrobe and I do not care what is in style or not. This girl isn't getting into a bikini ever again. Truth be told I hope to never get into a bathing suit again either lol. Hope you are enjoying a good week and staying warm and cozy.

@Sandeek GOOD LUCK today!!! Sending you buckets and buckets of healing vibes and praying you have an easy trip in and a good appointment. (((HUGS))).

@AV_ I am with you. You make good sense. As always. I have been in the pretty bad pain category in 2014 and have no wish to repeat that. I called the anesthesiology department at Lenox Hill hospital and they said it should be OK since I stopped taking it Monday. Fingers and toes and everything crossed. I would prefer to get this over with or delay it till next November which I am not sure is a smart option as no one can predict if this thing will break through the skin and cause an infection. Life is never dull. Thank you so much for all your good wishes. Hope you are having a good week and that life is treating you sweetly.

@Jimmianne for me the finger is not really an issue as it doesn't hurt very much and I don't care too much about the ugly appearance. If I could do nothing (as I have for the past few years since I had this in my finger) I would but it's at the point the surgeon said I cannot ignore it any longer. Not that I have been ignoring it but I have been electing to just watch it. Grow bigger and bigger and bigger.:confused2: How are you? Getting ready for your 6 months in France and your DD's upcoming nuptials? Maybe I will get to see you in October fingers crossed.:appl:

@Austina I wish Fred was like a dog right now. He didn't eat much of the med either yesterday morning or evening or this morning so at this point I am not sure what to do. He is not eating much at all because I mixed the meds up in his food so I have to call my sister and see what she suggests. How is sweet Dottie doing? Remind me are the gates fixed now? My memory is a sieve and I cannot remember the details now. I think they are getting fixed very soon or were recently fixed. Hope you had a good night's sleep and wake feeling rested.

@Tekate LOVE all your warm wonderful photos! Aww sorry you have a cold and hope you are feeling much better very soon. You have quite the return trip home in another day or so. Wishing you safe and easy travels. Hoping Chris and all your family are doing well and that things are going smoothly. Thank you for all your loving comments. Sending you (((hugs))) and love.

@marcy Francesca sends purrs and hugs right back to Karl and says she misses him. I think we need to schedule if not a visit a face time call between these 2 lovebirds. Sorry about the upcoming snow but glad the temps are warming up to 30.:geek2: :sun:
I will need help enabling voice recognition/dictation on the iPad because I asked Siri yesterday and she was like "I don't understand".:lol-2: Welcome to my world. Glad you had a lovely supper out with Marty and came home to clean cabinets. That Murphy's oil really shines things up doesn't it?

So I don't know yet for sure if I can have the surgery tomorrow. Saw my internist yesterday and had the necessary tests done but results might not be back in time for scheduling the surgery time tomorrow. It's going to be tight. I swear I just want to back out and hope for the best re complications and infections because the cysts are so big. It's a double and it is about to break through my skin and nail and that is the reason for not waiting till next winter which I really would prefer to do. The weather is getting nicer here soon (or should be at least LOL) and I hate having to recuperate when the weather is nice. But I know I should just go ahead and get this done even if I have to postpone to next week. It's just less than 5 years since I went through the Pilon fracture and surgery and I just was hoping I could go a bit longer before I had to go into the hospital again yanno?

Winter is holding on tight but at least

Screen Shot 2019-03-06 at 7.16.51 AM.png

Have a good day girls! (((HUGS)))

My life is like I Love Lucy. After quite a series of comic events this morning I finally got clearance for surgery and I’m scheduled for 10AM with arrival at 8AM. I’ll just add that this morning in order to secure the clearance despite assurances from my internist yesterday that he’d send it over ASAP I had to work for it. It involved 3 emails 4 phone calls and a whole lotta stress. I can’t believe how hard I’m working to *get* this surgery. When what I’d really love to do is hide my head in the proverbial sand and delay it for as long as possible. ::)

@Sandeek thinking of you and hoping it’s going well. (((Hugs))).

Hello lovelies

Better to get it over and done with @missy , then you can get on with recovering. Try not to stress too much, it’ll soon be done. I know you’ve had your fill of medical appts, but this isn’t going to go away on its own, and could potentially get worse. Lecture over :D We’ll all be thinking of you tomorrow, and willing you through it.

I’m not a dedicated follower of fashion either @junebug17 , I have one of those little skirts too, and often sit in a flimsy cover up in the shade. Glad your DS got his car going. I hope your cold isn’t being too bothersome and you’re recovering.

Dottie is fine, her usual angelic self. The gate saga is still ongoing, we were expecting them to be finished by now, but we’re still waiting.

Ugh to more snow coming @marcy, but at least you’re out of single figures. I think we must be getting old, when we prefer staying in to going out to eat  The lure of a warm fire is far more enticing. Not much point having a car that can do 160MPH when there’s nowhere you can legally drive it.

Hope you haven’t been subjected to any more horrendous sights @Tekate and you’re enjoying your last few days in the DR :D

Hi AV_ how’re things with you?

I took my car in for its 2nd service today and waited while it was done. As I expected, I had a slow puncture in my driver side front tyre, so after the service, I had to go and get that fixed, so all in all, I was out all afternoon.

That’s my excitement for the day :rolleyes2:

Big wave to all the lovely NIRDIs :wavey:

@missy I know you are not looking forward to this surgery at all and it's going to be very inconvenient for you for a few weeks, but it's good you're getting it over with. Sounds like it's a situation that's going to have to be taken care of eventually anyway. I'm sending lots of good thoughts and positive vibes for a smooth and uneventful surgery and will be thinking of you tomorrow. (((Hugs))) and take good care!

Yes, I would just skip wearing a bathing suit too, but I do like to hop in the pool or the ocean occasionally so unfortunately I have no choice! I don't think I can get away with capris :cry2:

@Austina, you sound like me, I usually sit in the shade in some kind of cover-up! One time my sister and I were on the beach and she made the comment "even my cover-ups have cover-ups!" :D Sounds like you had a busy day. Here's hoping those gates are finished soon!

@marcy, a heated steering wheel and seat do help a lot in the cold temps! You are having the perfect weather for a nice cozy fire. It's pretty cold here too...26 degrees with a real feel of 16, ugh. Dh and I keep turning the thermostat up lol.

I have absolutely nothing new to report so I'll just post a pic of Zoe :P2

HI:

JB--thanks for the pic of Miss Z. She made my day. (OK so did Jamba's post LOL)

Missy--you'll get thru this procedure with the same grace as in past. Too bad stuff always happens, but HEY I'm living that experience. I'd like the world to stop or at least slow down.

Hello to all NIRDI's.:wavey:

cheers--Sharon

Hi NiRDI’s! I hope you had a lovely day.

Missy, I glad you can get your surgery over this week. Good luck tomorrow!!! Let us know as soon as you can how you are doing. Karl always has access to my iPad so he can FaceTime anytime. All I think you need to do is click on the microphone on your keypad and then it walks you through it; it seems like there is something you have to agree to because what you say goes out to Apple’s cloud. I tried it once but it didn’t understand my voice very well plus it’s slow. You know what might work better is a stylus; I can type pretty fast with my apple pencil. Murphy’s Oil does make things shine. I am glad we had it done. Love the meme about mosquitos.

Austina, as the gate story turns, eh? I hope they get finished soon. Yes, I am getting old since I prefer to be home especially on cold nights. Good question about having a car that can go that fast if you can’t legally drive it that fast. But it sure is fun! One of the benefits of living in a rural area with lots of open, desolate roads. Good deal getting your car serviced and the tired fixed today. You should be good to go for sometime now. Darn that you had a puncture in your tire though.

Junebug, Zoe is looking pretty happy and content. 26 sounds pretty chilly to me; glad you guys are keeping warm. I love inching up that thermostat; right now I have on my long fleece robe and am loving being so warm.

Sharon, I hope you are doing well. Wishing you some slower days.

We had snow most of the day but not most of it melted. Who knows how much more we will get tonight; I am sure it is going to be icy in the morning since the streets were wet.

I had a hectic day at work. It is starting to be our busiest time at work and today is the day IT decided to upgraded our computers and or Windows. Nothing works, missing links and logins, etc. The good thing is the new PC is small (like a play station) so I have room for at least 2 more bears. Sweet.

I lifted tonight but didn’t do anything else. Speaking of which I see Marty’s late supper dishes needs to get in the dish washer and get that started.

Take care.
Marcy

Good Morning NIRDIs!

I must admit I am starting the day after a sleepless night & I am counting hours. I know what kept me awake & it will get done and sent before I eventually loose all fantasy cca 14:00. WTH with this...

@missy You must have slept (anesthesia!)

@junebug17 Watching the world go by, is all I ever wish to do (counting reading as a form of it); like Zoe at the window ,)

I couldn't sleep or anything, but Google threw a few nice things at me, including a starry diamond:

http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ_tSlLqOw64Bn7zHh3aeCnWU-bAnUdlbRAc5lMaWJb1hKdsakaBw

At least you have a great day!

GM girls! Thanks @junebug17, @canuk-gal, @marcy, @Austina, @AV_,@Sandeek and everyone else. I am off in a bit to the hospital and fingers (haha fingers) and toes crossed all goes smoothly. No water, coffee etc this AM so add that to the mix and I cannot wait to be done with this.

@junebug17 aww what a love Zoe is...a beautiful girl. And a peaceful calm life is a good life so long may that continue.

@canuk-gal I'm sorry to hear life is still throwing challenges at you but I know you are strong and will conquer any and all hardships. Sending you lots of good thoughts and hugs.

@Austina thanks and you are completely correct which is why I was working to get this surgery in (before nice spring weather and cycling season haha). I hope the gate saga is soon resolved.

@Sandeek so pleased everything is proceeding along relatively smoothly given what you are dealing with and hoping things start getting easier. Sending you more hugs and healing dust. XO.

@marcy Gosh I don't have a stylus and with my Brooklyn accent I have a feeling that Siri won't understand me so it might be old fashioned typing one hand though I am not sure how I am going to balance the laptop computer and type with one hand. We will see. As for Karl and Francesca well I know she would be gaining some awesome in-laws so I am onboard.:halo:

Wow what a day for them to decide to update the computers at work and sorry it was hectic for you but glad you got some lifting in...you go girl! Thanks for the lovely meme sweet Marcy.:kiss2:

@AV_ sorry you couldn't sleep last night. That is an interesting diamond...as for surgery and anesthesia I am not yet there...I have a number of hours before I am in surgery but have to be at the hospital in about 2 and a half hours so think good thoughts for me please. The anesthesia is what scares me right now and once I am in recovery it will be the not being able to use my hand and arm (has to be raised) for 2 weeks but I am taking it one thing at a time right now and just want to get out of surgery alive.

@ringo865 Good luck today... I am thinking of you and sending lots of good wishes your way.

Have a good day girls! :wavey:
Leaving you with a view from a new restaurant downtown. Pretty.

Sending lots of positive vibes for a quick and easy procedure @missy xxx

@missy, thinking of you and hoping everything is going as smoothly as possible, and you're doing ok <3

@missy Fingers crossed! (I say this too often & do cross them too; friendly challenge to you, two weeks from now...)

Two weeks... - it is also the deadline for a first show of my work (just set) What to say: this has been a twenty hour day already & I am NOT tired.

NIRDI - brilliant five letters!

I am back, thanks girls! Relieved to be home.
Typing with one hand so keeping it brief. It is challenging keeping the arm up. My arm is already tired lol but 3 hours down, 333 hours to go.

Had an awesome heated blanket while waiting in pre op :kiss2:

Heat was pumped through this tube into my gown. Cool. Or hot. Whichever you prefer. :sun:

The contraption. No sling. Just this. Supposed to sleep in it too. Arm has to remain vertical and above heart.
I swear, Im not giving you the finger.

Surgeon said I will need some PT after a few weeks. That was surprising.

@AV_ ahh we are on a similar time schedule. Nirdi though is 5 glorious letters. Don't forget the last I as in did It. :cool2:

Thank you @junebug17 and @Austina and @marcy and @AV_ .
(((Hugs)))

Good to see you on the other side! (finger to you you ,)

As for the 'it' at the end of NIRDI - I will know in fourteen days what it is.

Glad the surgery went well @missy, and that you have this behind you! Oh boy, the next two weeks will be interesting, especially with that cumbersome thing - hopefully you'll find things to keep you occupied to get you through, time to see what's on Netflix! sending lots of healing dust and good wishes xxx

 Glad to see it’s all done @missy, now on to the recovery. Hope it wasn’t as bad as you thought. Follows Drs orders and rest that hand :D I had to  at you saying Siri wouldn’t understand your accent.

Go get some sleep too @AV_

Zoe looks very serene @junebug17 what a cutie.

Ugh to a frustrating day at work @marcy you’d have thought someone would’ve realised it wasn’t the best time to do the upgrade. I get the first 3 years servicing on my car free, so win win, and the puncture repair was considerably less than a new tyre.

Nothing exciting happening here, just did the food shopping this afternoon while Colin went for an eye test.

Hope all the NIRDIS are well, woohoo, Friday tomorrow!

Hi NIRDI’s!

AV, I hope you sleep better tonight.

Missy, glad your surgery went well and hope you are having a comfortable evening. Big hugs to you and wishing you a speedy recovery. Great view from the restaurant. That is some contraption to keep your hand elevated. You will get fast at one hand typing.

Junebug, we made it above zero here today. I needed to dig out flip flops.

Austina, Siri never understands me either. i use it to send texts when i am driving and usually give up because it doesn’t type out what I said. Nice that you get three years of free service on your car. Tire repairs are definitely cheaper than new tires.

March Madness is in full swing at work but at least I got my stuff finished today. Marty hadn’t made tacos for supper when I got home so we went out for dinner. He had a physical today and is having some spots checked tomorrow at the dermatologist. I bet a spot on his check will get cut out. He’s had some cancerous spots on his neck and ears and messed his 6 month check up probably a year ago.

Take care.
Marcy

@missy, So glad the surgery went well today and you are home and doing well. I’m sure Greg is taking good care of you. Hoping you are able to sleep well tonight.

Happy International Women's Day girls!

Thanks again everyone. I'm doing OK. It was challenging sleeping but managed a few hours. I removed the contraption around 2AM and just put my arm on a pillow.

@junebug17 Thank you! We are watching something good on HBO now called "Night Of "...it's a limited series I think. ((Hugs)).

@AV_ ooh can't wait to hear exciting updates from you. Yes NIRDI is 5 letters but as another NIRDI (offline these days but a continued great friend) pointed out these days I'm a NERF girl so that is 4 letters. Thanks for all your support and finger energy. XO.

@Austina thanks and I hope you have good news soon re the gates. ((Hugs)).
To be fair I haven't given Siri a chance so maybe I will try later. One hand typing is not fun and it is slow for me.

@marcy thanks for keeping me company yesterday morning. I was surprised how early you were awake and appreciated all your good energy and I felt the love. (((Hugs))). Glad you finished what was necessary to do at work and got to enjoy dinner out last night. I hope Marty's appointment goes well today. Glad it is warming up by you somewhat. XO.

@Sandeek sending you continued good thoughts and hugs. My follow up is March 18th...I think that's a good sign...same day.(((Hugs))).

@ringo865 so happy you're doing A OK and lovely how your colleagues have rallied around you. Shows how much you are loved. Sending you ((hugs)).

@Calliecake thanks, I'm doing ok and glad the surgery is behind me. Never fun to be in the hospital waiting to get cut into and unlike you I am not a fan of twilight anesthesia and never feel rested afterwards. But the coffee they brought me after i woke from the surgery was delicious so there's that.

@Tekate I hope you had a wonderful vacation and are safely on your way back now with calm weather. Thinking of you sweet Kate the Great and sending love and hugs.

My surgeon called me yesterday at 5PM to check in on me. I thought that was nice. He emphasized to keep it elevated till my post op March 18th. Girls, doesn't that seem excessive? ::) It has been less than 24 hours and I'm getting tired of keeping it elevated. LOL I'm a bad patient. Or impatient. Or both.

It won't surprise any of you that Greg is taking great care of me down to cutting y salad up just like i love it. He's amazing Greg the Saint. :halo: Love him so freaking much. And love you girls too. TGIF and have a happy international women's day.:appl:

Evening ladies!
Please keep your fingers crossed for tomorrow’s competition!
