@Austina I saw the Downton Abbey movie at home last night. I never managed to see it at the theatre..I missed them all. My husband wouldn’t watch it..but that’s okay...I won’t watch football..haha...I loved it..

@missy I found it..I’m a bigger dork than I thought I was. I tore the whole house part looking in all my hiding places...I had originally checked my jewelry pouch and didn’t see it. After I tore the whole house apart.... I looked in my pouch again. I have lots of little ring baggies that contain one ring each. I went through them all AGAIN..As I was about to fold it up I noticed the ring in the corner of the pouch..I’m losing it. Anyway..I have it and I’m happy.
My daughter-in-law is the best. She worked on Scott tirelessly explaining to him that it was causing me lots of stress about not inviting Chris. Scott said she leaned hard on him making him realize it was just hurting me. He called me this morning to say he will come for Christmas if I invite Chris. He just won’t stay over..They’ll go back home after spending the day in case Chris stays over. I was so excited I bought her a band to go with the ring I already bought her! Lol

@Mamabean, what a fantastic update! I'm really glad your dil was able to get through to Scott, and also kudos to Scott for realizing how much the situation was upsetting you. @Jimmianne, oh no that you can’t find anyone to set you gorgeous asscher in a new ring. I hope you find someone soon. What are you thinking of having them make for you? Oh no to your friends getting skunked. How awful. That takes so long to get rid of such a horrible smell, Thank you for the suggestion on the muscle roller stick. I might have to get myself one of them. I was better by lunch time today.

@Mamabean I am so relieved to hear you found the ring for your DIL. That is great she talked Scott in to coming for Christmas even is Chris is there; she deserves the band you bought her too for helping reduce your stress there. Maybe get a safe anyway; those are so heavy not many thieves are going to be able to move it out of the house or have the ability to transport it if they do manage to get it outside. Marty is a good cook but he is also adept at leaving behind a stack of dishes and a dirty stove. Oh well, he could have worse habits.

@missy too funny about Oliver - he allowed you to share his pillow. My boss has a few cows and he was telling me his calf is a real stinker. Acts like it’s the “boss” and like to bump people and the other cows. I am not so stiff and sore tonight; my right knee is a bit more agitated than it has been lately but the rest of my old legs and feet are back to their normal state. Getting old isn’t for sissies. Sorry my cookies made you hungry in the morning. I took the one leftover blob of dough that I baked in my lunch today; you know that last piece of dough you aren’t going to roll out and cut out again. But you can’t waste it, right? Lovely photos from your ride. I hope they get your humidifier working; they sure help in the winter. I hate to hear you had an asthma attack. Those are no fun.

@AV_ enjoy that spring weather for me. We are in the 3rd month of winter here.

We had snow overnight but only enough to make it icy. The giant drift down the street isn’t budging. I can’t believe the city hasn’t sent plows out again. If we get another big storm it’s going to be a nightmare getting around. I swear my teddy bears could beat the current mayor in an election.

Work is so nice now. Tracking and documenting errors sure took a lot of my time.

Spending the holiday together sounds like a nice step toward this. I’m happy for you and know how much this means to you. I hope you are less stressed now. This is the first Christmas in a few years my brothers will be spending the holiday together. I’m hoping for a happy outcome. Your DIL is going to love the bands you are giving her. You aren’t alone on misplacing things. I looked everywhere a few weeks ago for DH car keys only to find them in the first place I looked, right in the center of the drawer.

@Austina , How scary about Kim being in an accident. What a relief she wasn’t hurt. It’s nice she was so touched by your gift. She is lucky to have you Austina. I hope you are enjoying your trip.

@junebug17 , Enjoy your time in NY with your husband. I hope you and DH have fun and you have nice weather.

@Calliecake I hope Christmas with your brothers goes well. My sister has a son and DIL that aren't talking to another son; I have no idea what will happen if they all show up at our house for the family Christmas GTG. At least Marty should be able too break up any scuffles. I will leave the coaching to Marty; I have no idea what I'm doing but I keep trying. Thank you for the encouragement though; I appreciate it. I would say it's common for side streets to not be plowed or plowing out enough to be useful. It all depends on the mayor and their priorities. For a long time they would plow 2 paths and pile it up in the middle of the street; no way could you get across that pile of snow. Our current mayor has side streets plowed once and only down one path. So the sides of the streets are worse after that because there is more snow piled on top of what was already there. The drift around the corner I think came from pushing everything there from the one pass down the street. Usually we don't have this much snow at one time until March and April when the snow melts a little faster since we get in the 40's and 50's between storms. We are down to only about 6 more months of this cold, white stuff.

Yay for working smart now and not having to babysit. That is sweet. Yes we got our humidifier replaced all accomplished yesterday. Joe sent his guy here to take out the one that wasn't working and then he brought it back to the supplier and picked up a new one and came back and installed it all before noon. And it is still working woohoo. Nice when things work the way they should. Hope today is another good day. And you can talk about baking any time. (((Hugs))).

@junebug17 thinking about your dear brother and hoping relief is on his way re the sleeping issues. Please let him know we are all thinking good thoughts for him. I hope all your holiday planning and shopping is going well and that things are good for you. (((Hugs))).

@Slick1 the countdown begins. Hope all is going smoothly and hope Chase is doing OK. Fred is having so much trouble having a BM despite all the meds I am giving him for that. I know the inevitable cannot be long put off as much as I want it to but of course the optimist in me is praying for a long quality of life left for dear Fred. I know you hope the same for Chase. We had a good day yesterday. All 4 cats successfully shampooed yesterday. Humidifier replaced all within the morning hours despite lots of traveling on the part of the HVAC guy going back and forth to get a new one. We also went to Costco (so exciting haha) and the day went fast. Today I am on my own but have lots of things on my to do list so will be pleasantly occupied I think. It's not a good weather week but that's OK. Gives us time to catch up on other things to be sure.

Thinking of my friends here and hoping all is well. I saw the stalker thread and it is so scary. My heart goes out to that PSer. There's a saying that comes to mind: here's to those who wish us well and all the rest can go to well you know where :/. That thread also reminds me there are also non scary stalkers around. One must remain vigilant because the world has lots of not so nice people in it. Sad but true and sometimes those who seem so nice are not at all what they appear to be. I have learned that lesson and it is scary how people can be easily misled. I think those with good and pure hearts tend to be the most vulnerable to such people. People who seem so sweet and nice and kind but they are not. But I digress. Sorry for the mini threadjack. I will leave you with a heartwarming photo below.

We let Oliver out last night for a bit and are having big problems with food with him. He always wants to eat and he never is satiated. So not sure how we are going to manage this long term. For the short term we covered all the food when we let him out. But Fred and Tommy need the food all day because they just graze and we need them to be able to eat whenever they want to eat. Big problem and I sure hope this isn't the issue that makes it impossible to keep Oliver. After all we went through that would be a crying shame. Anyway leaving you with Oliver exploring last night. Fred didn't seem bothered by him at all unlike tommy who was running away from him. Little Oliver can be a bit of a terror. Hopefully with time he will outgrow that. But we shall see.

Hello girls!
I'm back home now after 4 days of sun. I do love the snow. But another day in the sun would have been nice. We had a blast. Swimming, eating, watching dolphins and swimming some more. LOL what to do with children. Apparently, they never get cold in the water. We even met some friends who were there at the same time as us. That was a nice surprise.
My mother started chemo again today. My dad is playing taxi for her today, because I had to take my grandmother to the doctor (again). Business calls in the car outside the doctor's office - not really fun but thank something I have a good memory and didn't actually need my computer to kind of get through that one.
I look forward to this weekend. A very late birthday party for me. I sent out invitations with the heading "Hurray for me". LOL. Four of our closest friend-families are coming to the new cabin (summerhouse) on Saturday and are staying until Sunday, so I'm hoping that it will be fun and not just crowded. 20 people and 5 dogs on my last count. Wish us luck.
Maybe also one cat. That should be interesting. LOL. Makes me think of Olliver @missy, he would love that I'm sure, so many to play with! I'm sure you will figure out the food. Maybe keep it in a separate room and the others will go there (and you open the door or something) when they wish to eat? Fred looks very happy and relaxed in front of the fireplace! Kind of like me last night lol.
I am trying to read up, but might resign and just reply as we go forward. Please forgive me.

Hello sweethearts! Thank you to everyone who has mentioned me in your posts and thoughts. It means a lot. Its been a whirlwind. It will all be worth it very soon. Hugs to all.

Merry Christmas y'all. Yes it is really me, I'm here and finally have some time and feel up to reading PS. Let me just say it's been a real overwhelming experience getting here, living with my best friend and having my granddaughter and my son and DIL and trying to get all things done, I really hate moving and our furniture was really late, it was really expensive (so much for John going cheap meh). So many people needing my time, get together, baby sit (which I love), dinners, lunch, linners, brunches, etc but the topping on this whole thing is I got sick, sick with a stomach virus that has really knocked me out for days, I believe I have slept 14 hours a day at least, headache, nausea, aches, it's been really horrible, Mike and Cara and Autie had it then me, John never get's this stuff. The house plans are still a nada but we have a meeting this Thursday with the architect. Now to the rental home, it's really adorable - 3 beds 2 baths and a study, but of course I own 6 rugs and they are all in the study, all my stuff is everywhere here and it's depressing... but it's okay.

So an update with me is I did get a tree, now to find lights etc.. whoops pressed post I guess Salley is good, still a bit high strung but okay.

I have not read anything in weeks so excuse me for not commenting on anyone's post.. but I will after I post this part, I believe the worst is over for now..

Chris is coming for 2 weeks at Christmas! that is the best news, Autie has a constant cold, not much was broken in moving. @Austina email me with info if you would. again or maybe you have and I've not been in Insta in the same amount of time as here. Took days to get internet etc blah blah.. Miss the NE so much. But Autumn makes my heart sing.

@Tekate! I missed you! I’m sorry you were sick..Don’t worry about unpacking..and stuff hanging around. It will get done..Just do it a little at a time...I’m sorry you miss the NE...Do you miss the cold weather? I lived in Texas for five years...I loved it there...but I missed the seasons...I would laugh when it would get what they called a snow storm...It only did it twice in five years. It amounted to dusting of less than a quarter inch. The stores were cleared of bread and milk the day before the forecast. I would pick stuff up for people because they were afraid to drive. It would crack me up. On the flip side..they would get tornado and hurricane warnings...tape up windows like it was nothing while I freaked out..hahaha

Joanne, I've lost 3 rings and one unset tourmaline in the last 3 years and will never fine them let me just say I'm so happy you found the ring!

@Tekate You are right..That’s what I should have said..Scott, Allie and Jackson will come Christmas Eve..They will stay over..We can have our wine, etc...Chris is coming Christmas Day..so Scott and family will stay the day when Chris is there..but not stay over that night. Chris will spend the night then. Christmas will be no alcohol which is fine...Scott let me know that he is only coming for me..He will be on best behavior for me..That’s all. He doesn’t want Jackson to have a relationship with Chris..I feel bad for Chris but he did some terrible things to me which Scott can’t forgive. I understand his reasoning..but Chris is clueless. I think he thinks Scott is warming up but he isn’t. I think he will get it when Jackson has a birthday party in March at their house and Chris won’t be invited. Yes..Chris has been terrible to me but I still feel bad about him being excluded.

@missy I love following weather too. Probably because I live in prime storm chasers country. Ha Ha. Thank you - love those orange and red sunrises. Good deal getting your humidifier up and running. Darn that you are getting wet and cold weather. I haven’t read the stalker thread yet but that is so awful and scary. Even in our small town there have been some very bad incidents by stalkers. Sorry to hear Oliver can be such a stinker with the other kitties and their food. Hopefully once he can be out and about all the time that behavior goes away.

@Scandinavian I am glad you enjoyed your well deserved vacation. Too funny to run in to some friends there. I hope your mom’s chemo goes well and glad you dad could help out since you were taking your grandmother to the doctor. It is a good thing you do have a good memory taking work calls in the car. I hope your grandmother is doing better. Your weekend birthday party sounds fun.

@AV_ Octiva asschers are amazing. I’ve heard of dogs winning elections or people who have passed away but are on the ballet win by a landslide. Such is life, eh?

@Tekate you sound very busy and how fun to be babysitting Autie. I bet she is a total delight and brightens your days. I am so sorry you got sick; that sounds miserable. Glad you’ll be starting on plans for your house this week. Sorry your rental isn’t as spacious as you’d like but it’s short term so hopefully that makes things easier for you.

@Mamabean I guess dealing with local weather depends on what is normal for your area. My BIL and sister lived in the Dallas area for a few years and he’d go to work on days they had one of those light snows and he was the only one there. Since he is from Colorado that was nothing to him.

The best part of my day was Marty’s evening client is sick so we went out for supper. I picked Olive Garden; I am so sick of steak I could scream! I take a lot of leftover steak in for my lunch and Monday I threw most of it away so tried less steak today in a little sandwich - at least I got it down. Tonight I ordered the tour of Italy - ate the chicken parm and fettuccine then brought home the lasagna. After supper we wandered around Bed, Bath and Beyond. Sadly I didn’t lift tonight then - I told Marty not to tell my “coach”. I will lift tomorrow. I swear.

yesterday i ripped not one, but two toe nails out
different feet - same box i tripped over
Tibby's bed (i shifted from the front door to the backdoor as i disturbed two dogs stealing a cat blankie from the front door so we thought it best not to have the front door bed as the front door is in front of the gate)
just a cardboard box sitting on a piece of polystyrene- who would have thought
also put the solar powered Christmas lights up in the front porch
I'll have a rejiggle and post a pic tomorrow night

Good morning..It will be a busy day but had to come here to say what a dork I am. I’m always hiding my jewelry because I don’t have a safe...and won’t get one because it would have to be bolted to the floor...We’ll be moving in a few years..and my husband doesn’t want to bolt it to the floor because of that..Anyway...I misplaced my daughter-in-law’s ring I was giving her for Christmas. I took it out of my pouch where I keep everything..and put it in a little pretty jewelry box. I hid it somewhere in the house and now I can’t find it..I’m such a nut..

Yesterday went fast. The days are just flying by and of course I would be happy for us to be in next Spring already and done with all the unpleasantness but sadly it doesn't work that way. So one day at a time continues to be my mantra. It is snowing out now but cannot tell if it is sticking as it is still dark as anything outside. Little (not so little) Oliver was quite the mischievous baby last night kept waking us up. Hmmm I am sensing a theme lol. Look at him this AM.



Looking quite pleased with himself. Sigh.

@Mamabean it's exceedingly difficult to jettison your child no matter how old, I think we all get it, Missy could have just jettisoned Ollie, she didn't of course because she's a furmom, as you are too.. we forgive our kids often and always, I always have hope one my son's will always remember that I loved them with my whole heart, you love your kids, you are normal.. Mike and Chris do not often get along, each things the other is a dope I can no longer facilitate closeness for them but I hope in my heart of hearts as time marches they were remember what made them brothers more than what they don't like about each other. always hope and btw you handled this holiday perfectly and I probably should have butted out but I care xoxo

@Daisys and Diamonds I feel for you..The fact that they are missing together makes me think it’s in your house. The silver lining was that I straightened out some areas thinking it was in there! Sometimes I find things if I pretend to hide something else..I will sometimes find it there..What a nutcase I am..I hope they turn up soon!

How’re you doing @AV_ any plans for the coming weekend?

We’ve arrived in San Francisco, and it’s foul here. We had to get off the ship to go through immigration, then wait until everyone on the ship had been checked before they let us back on, it was an utter farce!

We got an email yesterday saying that there been some suspicious activity on one of our CC, so I tried ringing, only to get a recorded message saying they’ve got technical problems. Went on live chat, they told me to phone, went on FB, IG and Twitter, and yes, you’ve guessed, I’ve got to ring. I’ve told them ALL I can’t ring, they’re not answering. Can’t cancel the card online, because, yes, you’ve guessed it, I’ve got to call arrrrrrggghhhhh!!!!!!! Oi, what a shambles.

We’re staying on board because we’ve already done the sights of SF, although we had intended to walk about, but not in this weather.
