I think. Haha NIRDIs are such enablers.
Haha no I don't think so. I am not so easy to fool. Someone here did fool me for a few years but finally I saw their true colors. It can be hard at times because I want to believe the best in people. That is who (and who you are too) I am. But fool me once shame on you and fool me again and again well I need to have sense knocked into my head. And luckily I have it now. LOL. Oh I feel ya, I let a gorgeous diamond heart necklace go years back from my fave antique dealer and when I called them just a day later changing my mind and wanting to buy it it was gone. Another dealer had bought it from them. It was so unique and just lovely and I don't know why I hesitated. Oh well. Hindsight is 20/20. Here's hoping the year 2020 brings us lots of good things and happiness and good health and that we have lots of foresight and know exactly what to purchase and what to let go. @luv2sparkle thank you for asking about Greg. He is doing knock wood OK. No pain meds taken yet and we are still waiting to hear from the surgeon about Friday's lithotripsy. If it wasn't for Greg's scheduled TKR Jan 17th it wouldn't be as stressful because we aren't sure what the right thing to do is. Wait and hope the 12 mm stone doesn't come down til way after the knee surgery? Or do the lithotripsy and hope it doesn't interfere with the knee surgery? There is no crystal ball to consult unfortunately. Hope you and your dh are well and have a good NYE.

So it rained all day yesterday and we didn't go cycling. Instead, we ran a number of errands in the very rainy weather and as I wrote above to Marcy I ordered a new iPhone from the Apple store. At first the salesman at Costco convinced me to get the regular iphone 11 saying it was just as good and half the price as the pro max which was attractive to me. But then when I went back home I spoke to Marcy who told me nope the camera is much better (telephoto function) on the Pro and Pro Max. And well I canceled the Costco order and ordered from the Apple store online. Because costco wouldn't do an online order for the phone. And we weren't going back there. So I spent way more than I wanted to (thanks Marcy) and with tax it was over $1300. For a phone!
It's almost as if money is meaningless with the way things are so expensive but as a very wise young lady told me (@marcy haha) you can't take it with you. True dat.
Today we are hoping to cycle. Jimmy's place is closed (darn should have taken that key haha) but I will text him as we are cycling to see if he is around. Which he probably won't be as it is NYE and he has a very complicated family situation. I guess most of us do but his is challenging indeed. He is a good dad though -I can tell. And a great grandad to his 3 yo granddaughter. But I digress.
I would love to hear what everyone is doing today and wishing all of you a very happy and healthy New Year. (((Hugs))).

I just got the iphone 11 pro thanks to Marcy (see, Marcy, your influence goes way beyond hearts!) and I like it. I didn’t see a whole lot of difference from my 6, but the battery lasts for DAYS. A huge plus. And Marcy nailed it...the camera is GOOD.
And YOU nailed it too...over 1k for a phone and it almost seems
normal. But hopefully we remember that it is a tiny computer for watching Netflix and shopping, AND talking to each other so ... not too bad!
What color did you get ? I got the dark green and it looks black to me, so, meh.
I « broke down » lol ... had a breakdown??? and bought a couple of gold bands yesterday.
To distract me from going through all my parents’ boxes of love letters. So poignant to read now that they are gone. I’ll save a few for DD and ship the rest to my sister. I am on the freedom trail to downsizing, with only about 2 tons to go.

I got the silver color. I am soooo boring what can I say lol. My nieces got the regular iPhone 11 in lavender and mint green (I don't think that was the name of the color but it was the green blue phone) but the Pro Max (like the Pro) only came in regular colors I think and I love silver/white gold/platinum haha so that's what I went with just like my current iphone. Yes they are mini computers and for my big hands and tired weak eyes the larger the better haha.
Aww about going through your parents love letters. How poignant and I imagine bittersweet because you are missing them. I know it's not the same thing but I think of Francesca all through the day and night when I wake and I miss her so much. Of course with human loved ones it is that much harder. I know this even being the crazy animal person I am I know how much harder it is losing a beloved human family member. Sending you lots of love and comforting hugs. You are in my heart dear Jimmianne. Today and always.
Oh and about end of the year frantic cleaning I have had enough cleaning to last me several decades if not my entire life so yeah no cleaning for me lol. RW cleaned the heck out of any desire to clean. :/

Thank you @Polabowla. It was a dream for us to be able to purchase this house. I love living by the sea. Maybe one day it will be a dream come true for you as well...if it isn't doable where you live now maybe one day you can live somewhere it is a possibility. One thing I have learned as I get older (and a bit wiser) is that nothing is impossible and one day at a time.

It's been soo much fun to post and have fun about jewels but most importantly about life and what we are all going through. You've said this has been your most challenging year. IMHO, the relevant doctor may not know that this is not just a runny nose, not about his former addiction. Will your doc resent your asking him about another patient?
If inflamation is the problem, take an OTC anti-inflamatory, perhaps a higher doze than your usual if certainly not OTT. [too obvious advice, I am guessing that you have already done this, but do not know]

A new phone
Don't you find it amazing now much faster it is than your old one ?
i download a Bruce Springsteen show once a month and that'd how i judge how good a new phone is !!! How fast and easy it is
But we are Samsung galaxy people and i don't think i could learn how to use an i pbone
Didn't wake up till 9.30
the neighbours were playing loud music for a long time but luckily it was descent rock and roll and country
I thought i better make an effort for the first meal of the year so make banana pancakes and fried some ham
Tibby had breakfast and a new year day's cuddle - he seemed to have survived the excitement of the new year and the little stray kitten came out from behind the garden shed for her breakfast, i had been worried about her last night because the neighbours have their entertaining area right behind our shed and she's so timid
Borris was asleep this morning on her perch by the mircowave

@AV_ Yes the doctor knows that he became addicted to the Afrin nasal spray..He said it was really common...What happens is you become dependent on it to breathe but you need more and more to clear your nose..He had no idea what was happening. He never wants that to happen again so I understand. Great news is he feels so much better at the moment. He’s smiling all over the place because he can finally breathe. I told him he needs to continue with the antidepressant. I feel he needs it..I’m just so happy he’s feeling better...Fingers crossed it stays that way.
