Had a nice lunch out with and old friend--she is taking up art lessons again and is really enjoying it and I enjoyed hearing about what she is creating. I can't draw to save my life. Stick people are my forte!

My friend told me her adopted cat woke her up @0200 by licking her face/jumping on her chest. LOL. I think the cat wanted to be fed....sleep all day and eat all night....cats life!!

I can’t imagine the challenges of getting around in the big city especially with a broken ankle or TKR. good luck and hope the appointment goes well. What a mess you found early this morning. @Tekate I hope your so so is better than yesterday. Lots of folks are down and out at work. Thank you for the info on parathyroidism. That is so sad and scary thinking that could have led to yours sisters death. I am so sorry how it impacted and changed all of your lives. That is too bad your BIL didn’t want an autopsy, I know everyone has their own thoughts on whether to have one done. The uncertainty is hard to deal with. I know you miss her so much, big hugs to you! How fun to watch Autie later this week. That is so awesome Mike is loving having your in Austin.

So I’m at lunch at work. I needed a nap at about 10 but didn’t pass out at my desk. it is my day to lift, hopefully that goes well tonight.

@missy @junebug I had to go to town [empty pantry!], but there was no time for the gallery - their hours are odd enough 18:30 - 20:00. Of course I can use them as pretext for another escapade, them & a promissing pastry shop I have only just noticed. Tough life of the Andaluz, @Tekate !

@canuk-gal I might have been known to keep that kind of cat hours into months worth of jetlag, a drug of sorts. If anybody did the same to me now, I would not take it lightly!

Hi everyone, so today is D day for a decision about my son's hopeful new school. So the finance side has to be signed off. I hate the thought of a group of nameless faceless people who have never met my wonderful boy making such an important decision! But it has to be done!

I love Maiu Jim sunglasses and have over a dozen pairs though now I rarely wear them because I am wearing RX sunglasses and not my contact lenses with my MJs. But yes MJs (haha Maui Jimmianne!) are the best. LOVE them. Do you not like them? Why? Tell me so maybe we can fix the issue.

I hope you’re feeling better today @marcy, you must’ve really needed the sleep to have slept so soundly, and I’m glad you stayed home from work for a day to rest.

I second the Maui Jims @Jimmianne. After @missy mentioned them, I got a pair, and I can honestly say they’re the best sunglasses I have, even better than all the very expensive designer ones. Did you decide to keep the rhodolite garnet ring?

@Niffler75, of course I would come and help if I lived closer I’m keeping everything crossed that you get good news about your little boy’s school, you really have to be persistent to get what you need. You really don’t have to worry that you’ve overpaid for your ring, that was a bargain, it’s a great size and lovely colour.

In the UK, we say inheritance tax is a tax for people who don’t trust their children @Tekate. If we get to the stage where we can’t manage our finances, we will give POA to Adam. Colin had POA for his Mum as soon as she went in to a care facility.
I hope you and John are feeling better as each day passes, it’s miserable feeling lousy.

I’d love to see your work if you feel like sharing @junebug17, you really do have a talent and it must be so satisfying when you complete a piece.

I’m with you @canuk-gal, my artistic talent only goes as far as stick people, I’d love to be able to paint and draw, but walls and ceilings are my forte.

Sorry it’s raining there @missy, makes it a bit miserable going out for a walk if you get soggy. Hopefully you won’t have any problems getting a cab tomorrow for Greg’s follow up appoint. I’m a Munster’s girl, I just loved that they all felt sorry for Marilyn being so plain I’ve had the Addams family tune going round in my head now for a couple of days.

Hi @Daisys and Diamonds hope the weather isn’t too hot for you ATM.

We were due to go to our friends for lunch yesterday, but she called at 8.30am to say they had an emergency with her son (he has an alcohol problem), and they needed to go to see him. I told her it was fine and we’d reschedule, but she said she’d call later. We went to the driving range and when we got back, she called to say that they’d sorted things out, and did we want to go in the evening instead, so that’s what we did. We did a bit of gardening in the afternoon, the weather here is lovely ATM, bright and crisp. We had a lovely time with them and didn’t get back till late.

Colin’s just gone to get his ears vacuumed again, if he didn’t have such dainty ears he wouldn’t keep getting this problem

The only thing for me has been processing the anesthesia, feeling really sluggish today...& of course drinking TON's of water to flush everything--going to the bathroom constantly. It was remarkably easy. Canceled my bridge tomorrow, so am not going to leave the house Fri either. Thank you all for your notes of support @missy, @Austina, @Tekate, @marcy, @Niffler & all the rest in thought...NIRDI's are the best, no doubt!!!! XOXO

@missy Hi Missy thank you for asking. John and I are slowly getting better, atho we spent the morning with Autie (although she napped mostly) and then went grocery shopping. Tomorrow Autie is spending the day with us as her Day Care is closed for something! not sure, maybe teacher workday. So Mike will be with us in the late p.m. and I'm making Texas Chili so he will stay for dinner! I am sorry you didn't sleep well Missy, yes they say time heals all wounds, and I do agree in a way, but think about ALL you have done for animals especially kittens, seriously, F & F are at the ridge and they KNOW. It hurts I know. Your shades are so cool, I have never tried and asked about contacts so my 2 sunglasses are both scripts and I get them at Costco, whatever suits my fancy! Costco sells out of style stuff so I"m always a day late and dollar short when it comes to coolness but I find here their glasses are well made. Missy, if the world were full of people with the compassion, love and care you have it would be a wonderful world, thank you Missy..... you are so special.. and Greg and you both look marvelous.. I love your pix of you and him they make me happy .

@Austina sounds like the weather is wonderful Austina! I am very glad your friends were able to sort out the situation and all is well and you all were able to go to dinner! Doctor's here as far as I know tell you to do your ears yourself now.. One time I almost passed out when my doctor cleaned my ears out, I got so dizzy I went down.. lucky for me down was on the table and not the floor! I hope you have gotten to see a pix or 2 of Shirley's grandson, I know it's heartbreaking but it might make her son and DIL happy xoxoxo

So we had a bit of snow last night and here's 2 pic. The house with the kid stuff is behind me and the roof shot is next to me.. in Texas I think they build these homes on 100 x 300 lots (feet whatever) j/k but compared to where I lived in Austin the first time these are horrible lots, but most to all the people I see around are young families or oldsters like John and I!







@Jimmianne the above is a pix of my old pool when I lived in Austin. It wasn't big or anything but I did love it and I used it all the time (mostly weekends because I was always working then - back when I was young 61!) what I plan for the new place up in Liberty Hill will be a rectangle I think.. all up in the air. xoxoxoxo
