Just had my call with the new rheumatologist and he seemed very nice and knowledgeable. He wants me to get a 24 hour urine test and bloodwork and see me the end of May. Problem is I called his office manager and NYU isn't allowing scheduling end of May and he is booked already in June. LOL but we took a tentative June appointment and will take it from there. He reassured me that I would probably be fine waiting and my risk for fracture at this age is not as high as if I was older. I know he was trying to be reassuring lol but well I beat the odds very often not in a good way so we shall see. But all in all I am pleased with the telemedicine visit. And Greg set it up in the library and it went very smoothly indeed.

@missy There are long stints of sun between showers, so I've been going between work & garden all day; I intend to keep the pace all week, to finish the garden up to a point. I sure am tired & brused & all is well.

Glad all is well and it sounds like a productive tired which is always welcome. Enjoy the garden and enjoy work. Truly the best of both worlds.

How did your teleappointment go today @missy, did he have anything constructive to offer? Shop kitty certainly looks well fed. Your plants are definitely a few weeks ahead of ours, really pretty to brighten your walk. It’s lovely and sunny hear today, but definitely not sitting out weather. Shirley was OK, but she did wander off a few times during the conversation, and repeating things several times, but our chats keep her occupied for a few hours and gives her son and DIL a break.

Glad Shirley is well despite having to repeat things and wandering a bit. It happens to the best of us. LOL. It is nice of you to give her family a break. The telemedicine appointment went as well as it could've thanks for asking. I have to see him in person as he wants to repeat the bone density and also re evaluate some blood work. Not sure when that will be because I don't want to head to NYU until it is much safer. Or a lab to get blood and urine done til there is less rampant Covid 19 here.

Hope everyone is enjoying a good Monday. Very rainy and windy here. We are staying inside and playing cards. Oh the excitement never stops in our household. And please let it stay that way. Calm and peaceful.

I spent most of my day on conference calls. Our cleaning lady came so I washed towels and the table cloth after she left. She always has some candy out of our candy bowl when she is here and was sad it was almost empty so she picked us up a bag and dropped it by after lunch. We get the Russell Stover assorted chocolates for the candy dish. Then my sister brought us 4 dozen farm fresh eggs.

I did my lifting - boosted it up to 101 pounds deadlifting. I am not upping my presses or row since my shoulder / arm is protesting so much.

@bling_dream19 oh I am sorry about the bee sting. How is your DH doing now? Greg had a few bee stings this (or was it last?) summer but he didn't do much about them besides icing and it disappeared pretty quickly IIRC. I wish we could keep our shoes outside but we do spray the bottom with alcohol and take them off once we get inside but we do end up walking around a bit before we get them off. I definitely don't like that.

Yesterday went well. Worked out and then went for a walk and while the streets were crowded most people were wearing some sort of face covering. Not all people but most. It was a gorgeous day.

Today I woke up tired as I didn't sleep well last night and we decided since we were up early to head to the beach house to fill the feeders today and maybe stop at Costco. Just because it would be good to start getting stuff for the beach house though they are probably out of what we need for the house. We need TP/ paper towels and tissues and clorox wipes and baby wipes so most likely they won't have that in stock so that means before we head to the beach house for good we have to bring all that stuff from Brooklyn. It's a hassle but we will do what we have to do. If it wasn't for Greg's stones I would want to stay here for at least another month or 2 even...

Yay we finally got our NY State refund check for taxes so now we got both Federal and State. Surprised we got that because our accountant warned us it might be a long time til we did. Since NY is broke. But we did get it so yay.

I'm reading along, just a bit stressed with getting the number of hours in one day to match up with the hours required for all the different types of work that needs to get done.
Leaving for the mountain in a few days, try to get a few days of snow and skiing before it is too late.

The weather in the UK is glorious at the moment so we have been getting lots of outside jobs done, sanding and painting our decking and benches etc.

As many of you know I have a wonderful son with additional needs. I am quite active on a forum in the UK for families of kids with additional needs and have been trying to offer what support I can. There are lots of families in very difficult and stressful situations with schools closed, no respite, no support outside the home faced with very challenging behaviour. TBH I have taken a bit of a step back from this as reading about other situations has been extremely upsetting.
Sometimes we have to 'put our own oxygen masks on first' #self care before we can help others!

It’s another lovely day here, and I have to admit we just wanted to get out of the house today, so we drove around to see what the supermarkets were like, all too busy, so we drove home.

@missy glad your appt. went well, and I hope you feel some assurance that he doesn’t feel you’re in imminent danger of a fracture. I had to at Greg and Ollie, I used to do dance with one of our dogs, he loved to stand up with his paws on my shoulders and didn’t seem to mind one bit if I started dancing with him. Colin thought I was bonkers So glad you managed to get an extra delivery, especially one that contained ice cream, and I hope you can find all you need at Costco to stock up the beach house and feeders. Our delivery did eventually arrived, scheduled for between 12-2pm, then pushed to 2-4pm, and turned up just before 7pm! Still, we weren’t doing anything, and I know the drivers are inundate, so just pleased it arrived.

I was going to say we haven’t had the refund from Sandals yet @canuk-gal, but just this minute Colin’s checked our account, and it’s there What a relief, it was a LOT of money, and we really didn’t think we’d get it back. Glad you were able to get out for a ride and blow the cobwebs away.

You’re absolutely right @Niffler75, with everything that’s going on, you do need to take care of yourselves first, and it’s overwhelming hearing and reading about things beyond your control. I’ve actually unfriended people on FB because not just because I‘m disgusted by things they’ve posted, I just don’t want to see them on my feed. Hope you and your little guy are doing OK, sounds like you’re keeping pretty busy getting things done around the house.

Hope you get away to the mountains @Scandinavian, we’re not allowed to travel anywhere as there’ve been too many people ignoring the lockdown and carrying the virus and spreading it to other places that can’t cope with an influx of extra people or the disease.

The sauna hit the spot @marcy, although the sun’s shining, it’s actually been pretty cool here. I think Adam only uses a salt and pepper rub on his brisket, always tastes delicious though. What’s the next goal with the weights? Yikes to all that snow

I’m sure you must be missing the doggies as much as we miss Dottie @Jimmianne, even when they’re very quiet, it’s still a comforting presence.

Did Auti wonder how Grandma and Grandpa were in the little screen @Tekate? She’s growing up so fast and it’s great that with modern technology, even though you can’t see her in the flesh, you can still ‘see’ her. We’re all good here, Adam and Kim are fine, we had a long FaceTime chat with them and laughed a lot. Any more news on the house plans?

Yes I agree. Tend to your oxygen mask so to speak...first no question. It’s a very upsetting time and we must take care and hold on to our sanity. And do what’s necessary to maintain that. Sending you hugs and calm vibes. We’re here for you any time. No worries. Hugs.

@missy thank you for being excited with me on my lifting. Marcyland is usually a good place for me but some of it is on fantasy island. Ha Ha. Good question on my next goal for lifting; I am not as aggressive at it as Marty thinks I should be. That is a cute cat. How was your walk? We don’t have masks; I can’t find any online.

Not much exciting going on here. My shoulder said “yo” at about 4 today and I had a hard time going back to sleep. Work is rather slow today. We are having grilled burgers and baked potatoes for lunch. I’m starving too. I had a Marcy McMuffin for breakfast.

@marcy how is your arm/shoulder feeling today? We got lots at Costco though they were out of TP/Tissues/Lysol spray/Disinfecting wipes. We have those things but I was hoping to start bringing stuff to the beach house without taking from Brooklyn since we don't know when we are going to return to Brooklyn once we leave and I would hate to have to restock all over again. But I guess we might have to take from one home and bring to the other and then bring back as necessary. It's OK. At least we have supplies for now. I would hate to run out of TP or tissues. Hugs.


@Niffler75 what a pretty scene and I am glad your weather is good. We eschewed a walk yesterday because by the time we got back and did our workouts etc it was later than usual and we were exhausted. Maybe today. I am glad the UK is being sensible and extending the lockdown as necessary. I am worried our President is going to destroy what is left of our country because he is talking about lifting restrictions sooner vs later and I just don't think that is the best idea. We woke up later than usual today but that might have been because I was awake from 2AM to 5AM and glad I was able to fall back to sleep for a couple of hours.
