Quite well I think. At least if you don’t count the blisters on my feet. How is it possible?? Third season with these boots, they should really be well and truly broken in!
The children are mostly sticking with the trails, but for dog training that’s a big no-no so I’m slipping and sliding my way across the hills LOL.

I tend to get giddy for Easter [from last Friday to Tuesday, after the Orthodox calendar] & this year everyone does it the same outside & back in the country, which makes my out side better. I went through my holiday letters in the early afternoon [Iafter keeping your schedule @missy - a few days for insomnia were priming for the 11pm - 5 am celebrations yesterday] & I am not quite done, not that I wish to be done .)

@Scandinavian I am sitting by a glass of very cold, very sweet cider that keeps vanishing ,) & this, not days after I had told a friend that I cannot recall a good surprise [OK, now I am having one staring me down]. Happy skiing!

I'll be taking the break seriously @junebug17, when better.

@Tekate I've been grilling things on a charcoal pit, admitedly; it is not quite 'cooking' & serves the purpose.

@Mamabean This part of Spain lives for bean stews, I am a rookie & now out of rough materials after trying to make every kind I could remember. Then, I can only agree that doing things in the same time is a kind of closeness - much of my work is this way, it made me forget 'distance' a long time ago.

Happy Sunday Funday everyone! @missy the spaghetti squash was delicious! I just love it cooked in the oven and we topped it with Rao's marinara and homeade meatballs. We watched 2 movies last night, taking some walks today and I've got short ribs going in the dutch oven and slow cooker. I haven't made these in years and my hubby LOVES them over polenta.
I hope you're having a good day friend and sending you hugs. Hubby is outside cutting down dead branches, he loves his chainsaw lol!

Greg is a spitfire lol. When he was young he was well let's say a handful but an adorable handful. So glad your family are all well and I am glad you got Chris the maple syrup he loves. You're such a good momma! Our trip went OK but we won't have the results for a few weeks. I cannot say more but I am asking for you lovely ladies to keep good thoughts for us because if this is what I think it is I don't know how we are going to get through it.

I just wanted to pop on to say hi..It’s been a very busy few days. Yesterday was David’s birthday so I was making a fuss. He really enjoyed his spaghetti and meatballs and cake. He asked for white Christmas lights to be put on the mantel in the living room and on the shelving above the tv in the tv room for his present. It’s a very simple present but it made him really happy. Shatzie came today. He called me on the way here that a guy in his office is presumptive positive. He had a test but it didn’t come back yet. The guy was running a fever and some other symptoms. They had a cleaning company come to disinfect the whole building. Shatzie would only sit on the last step of the outside stairs. He insisted I sit at the top of the tier about fifteen feet up. I’m very concerned...and crossing all fingers and toes that he’s okay. Tomorrow will be a much easier day. Talk to you tomorrow..xxxxoooo

@Tekate nice that you got Chris some maple syrup to sweeten up his oatmeal. At this point in time my department is still working from home. That is good your DIL has not got sick going in to work. I see where Texas is opening things up. How fun to get a pool at your rental. How was the BBQ takeout? Your story about asking questions would be something I do. I’ve rode around in the golf cart with Marty before and I’ll ask him the names and what the 3 guys he is playing with do and he never knows. I told him heck 4 ladies would know each other’s life stories by the 4th hole.

We had a very lazy weekend. We watched season 4, 5 and 6 of Bosch and now will have to wait until Season 7 comes out.

We ate well. Marty made chicken linguini Alfredo yesterday and today we grilled steaks and I made scalloped potatoes for lunch today.

I got laundry done yesterday.

@mambean , I’m so sorry you are dealing with this. Today had to be a really tough day, This would be scary for anyone. It’s only natural that you would be very concerned. Does Shatzie know when this man should be receiving his test results? Thinking of you and hope you get good news regarding the man who had the test. Hang in there Joanne. David’s birthday sounded so nice, you made it very special for him. Is Chris doing well. We recently found there will be another baby in the family arriving in the fall.

@marcy, Please take good care of your shoulder. It sounds painful. Will your state be opening back up quickly

@Tekate , I hope things are getting closer to building the house. Auti is adorable and I’m sure it’s been hard not being able to spent time with her. My grandniece calls here a couple times every week asking if we can go to her favorite pizza restaurant yet.

Good morning! Today is a much easier day...TG I do have the handyman coming to finish up but it won’t take long...I’m just going to have him touch up the underside of the roof where he replaced the wood in places. He’s going to come back to power wash the dirty walks. I can’t ask for permission to replace the walks until this Covid thing is over. They will probably turn me down..
@Calliecake Congratulations on the new baby coming!! When is she due? Allie is due June 18..I’m so upset I won’t be able to hold the baby or actually see him...It would have been okay to see him outside but how do you explain to a just turned three year old why he can’t get close to us..
I hope you are doing well..and not going stir crazy...What have you been doing to pass the time?
Chris left the treatment center because a person there got Covid. They locked down the campus in buildings and didn’t let them outside which is dangerous because Chris was hearing coughing by other people. He said no one used the masks provided...and he noticed people weren’t washing their hands in the bathroom. He spoke to his psychologist about going back to his apartment. He thought it was a good idea considering the circumstances....He was only getting visits remotely anyway because they had very limited staff. He’s doing okay at home...He went shopping as soon as he got out and stocked up for two weeks.
@missy I’m so happy your parents and family are okay...How did the visit go at your sister’s with Bobby..or is it Tommy? Lol I can’t remember because I’m old...hahaha
I’m glad you were able to get supplies at Costco. Too bad they were out of the TP, paper towels and wipes. I‘ve been cleaning out the Pa house of supplies that Shatzie doesn’t need. I left him a bunch of cleaning wipes so I told him to leave those...but anything I could use here I had him bring the weekend before last. He was supposed to only bring a few things yesterday when he came but he left them home because he was afraid to get me exposed if the man in his office has Covid. I’m praying the man is okay...and of course that means my hubby is okay too..He stayed on the bottom step of the outdoor stairs in the front if the house. I stayed at the top sitting in a chair. It was so sad. I made him food to bring home...and replenished his supplies of food and snacks to bring home. I’ve been tipping the Instacart delivery people huge amounts and waving and blowing kisses to them through the window when they are bringing the groceries into my porch. It makes me happy that both of us benefit...I know they don't always get tipped because I’ve asked a lot of people...It’s terrible...
I love your pics of the kitties...That video of Greg dancing with Oliver is too cute. I can see why you love him. He’s a good and fun hubby...Gracie is so sweet and adorable. I’m happy Oliver is settling down. It looks like Gracie will be a good match for him...hahaha

Poor Chris is tired of beans and rice. That’s pretty much David’s lunch. He eats bean stew which has a tiny bit of rice in it...My mom and David eat tons of oatmeal so I hope to get some more next Instacart delivery. I asked for flour but they were out...I have some already but the supply is dwindling. I want to stay above the curve. I did that with Bailey’s food too...His delivery is coming tomorrow...
Shatzie came yesterday. It was so sad seeing him sit on the bottom step like he has cooties...poor guy. He told me he vacuumed all the rugs and cleaned all the toilets in Pa. This is a man that doesn‘t usually do those things..He did it to make me happy because I told him that the toilets were going to need to be replaced when I come home because they will be gross... I guess he thought about it and decided to clean them...hahaha

Hi everyone Well it's another sunny day here. I think we are getting our summer here in the UK and July and August will probably be a washout.
Well my husband requested leave from work under the furlough scheme here in the UK with full job protection. His offices are closed and many of the employees are in the same position. Currently there is not much work to do. He will continue to get all his salary which is good and resume his job as and when lockdown is lifted? So that is good news.

I have been eyeing up people's posts about precision cut lab gems for some time. I spotted a bargain and couldn't resist. It's a 11x11mm precision cut lab ruby. No idea what to do with it so am open to suggestions!



Went for a lovely walk today and a butterfly decided to sunbathe on my son's hands!

We had a news break over the weekend, so just caught up with the situation, second day in a row that the death rate has gone down. Seems odd to be glad to hear that, when people are still dying and families losing loved ones, but it is good news and a step in the right direction.

Glad to hear all is well with your family @missy, I know it must be a worry for you being unable to see them regularly. Awww Max the Wonderdog looks cute in his hat, as of course, does Greg. That man is 24 K gold . Good that you got out for a walk, we sat out in the garden, our weather looks similar to yours, lovely bright sunshine, but cool. How did things go with Tommy?

The doggies and the scenery look spectacular @Scandinavian, but ouch to getting blisters from your ski boots. Oh to be able to get out, not to ski, because I’m hopeless at that, but just the freedom to go away would be great.

Oy @Tekate, what’s taking this guy so long, doesn’t he want the work? We had a delivery of cleaning products on Saturday, and a food delivery yesterday. We seriously have to get a life, comes to something when you get excited by cleaning products and food We had 2 long FaceTime calls with Adam and Kim, and were comparing shopping deliveries

I made a quiche, but forgot to take a photo, and we’ve eaten it now. I’ve got some lemonade so I’m going to try the scones you made @Daisys and Diamonds and I’ll let you know how they turn out.

@missy, I'm sorry you're dealing with pain and I hope you're feeling better soon. I hope the issue with Tommy turns out to be nothing serious. It's very hard to deal with extra worries on top of this virus. So relieved your family is doing well, especially your sister and BIL. And your parents too, of course. I'm glad everyone is ok lol.

Dh and I are are staying in the house for14 days so we haven't been able to see what the stores are like. SC has a directive that people from NY and NJ have to quarantine for 2 weeks. I do know stores here are limiting the number of people they allow in.

Lifts the spirits to have something to look forward to. The latest news about the death rate is encouraging and offers a bit of hope. Glad you got some supplies, it helps to feel prepared.

Things are fine here, dh and I are doing well. He is working and we're finding things to do to keep ourselves occupied. The weather is warm here. We had some rain yesterday and today but it's cleared up. I know I sound like a broken record but I'm just so glad that the nirdis and everyone I know are healthy and doing ok.

@Calliecake our governor is currently sticking with current closures at least through April 30. I was thinking of making pizza but need ingredients for that as well. Hopefully you get some soon. That’s exciting there is a new baby coming.

@missy oh no that you are joining the sore shoulder / neck club. Maybe it’s wear and tear from our heavy bling? I hope you are feeling better tonight. I just lifted and am glad I have Advil by my chair because I don’t think I’d go get them otherwise. Gorgeous flowers; are those poppies? Love the card game photo.

@Mamabean wow that is awful about the conditions at Chris’s treatment center. My sister lives in Colorado and told me a reporter found out 1/2 of the deaths in Colorado were in nursing homes where they were keeping 2 people in a room and the staff were not wearing masks. Their state governor then sent the national guard in to monitor all state run nursing homes. Pretty poor.

@Niffler75 very pretty ruby. That’s great your husband will still get paid and not lose his job. Unemployment rates have massively jumped here and will mostly likely continue to climb.

@Austina I hope your steak shows up soon; our was scheduled to arrive today but no dice and it’s almost 6 pm. Darn. How did your scones turn out?

@junebug17 good idea to take your own TP on road trips. Chicken Alfredo is one of my favorite dinners and it’s so easy to make. Now I am hungry. LOL. Glad you and DH are doing fine while you quarantine.

Not much different going on with me today. I worked, lifted and am just resting now. Marty picked us up Arby’s for lunch and said I have to fetch window food for us because the line was crazy to get in to Arby’s. I later saw their special today was 5 of their regular roast beef for $10 so that might have contributed to such a long line.

I am venturing to Sam’s Club at 7 am tomorrow and hopefully replenish our paper products (TP, tissues, paper towels). Wish me luck.

Chris was living in the same type of conditions as nursing homes...two in a room...They locked them in the building and wouldn’t let them out for fresh air except for two hours a day. People were coughing...He was getting really worried. I will be happy when he goes past the two week mark. I hope he doesn’t get any symptoms...

A quiche sounds so good! I only have egg beaters...I may give it a try...I’ll add extra cheese. That should mask that I didn’t use whole eggs.

I have been trying to get more flour. They’re out everywhere...I still have some but I have lots of mozzarella, canned tomatoes and yeast..but not the equivalent in flour. In an emergency I can always whip up a pizza. So I searched everywhere and found flour! The only problem was they sell in bulk. I had to order 50lbs of flour! @marcy Can you come over and help me get the box in the house when it comes? Hahahahaha!
@canuk-gal That’s great you got out today to do your cycling....It was a little drizzly here this morning..but it turned into a pretty day..
@bling_dream17 I agree your meals sound delicious. I agree with sleeping better in a cool room. I have to keep the temp up for my mom during the day...but once she goes to bed I lower the temp to to 66-67 to sleep. I would lower it more than that but she would freeze solid.

Hi NIRDIs....sorry I've been gone for quite some time, since before I blew out my knee last summer. Hope you all are as well as can be expected, given the current trying conditions.

Pumpkin and I are getting by. I'm still working (without much concentration) and a little (well a lot) depressed, but buyoed by the recent request to help my niece find the perfect engagement ring. Something to look forward to in all this madness.

Hope you don't mind if I rejoin....and hoping you and yours are well.

@mambean, Are you feeling a little better today? I‘m glad Chris is doing well and was able to go back to his apartment. Sending dust to keep Chris and Shatzie healthy. I know how hard this is not being able to hug Jackson and you are right, it’s impossible to explain to a 3 year old.. I’m glad my grandniece understands we are doing this so no one gets sick (she’s almost 6). They haven’t scheduled the C-section date for my niece who is due mid-August. My other niece is due November 14.

@junebug, You don’t sound like a broken record. Everyone staying safe and healthy is what we all are hoping for. I’m glad you are having a good time with your husband and your family is doing well.

@marcy, Are you taking a break from lifting to see if that helps your shoulder? Please stay safe and be careful. You having craving an Arby’s right now.

@junebug17 I am glad you are safe and sound and you and your DH doing well. It's smart to quarantine for 2 weeks and as long as your supplies are good you are in good shape. Thank you for your warm wishes and we are doing OK. I am so proud of my friends who are first responders. I am watching the morning news and they are highlighting the hospital my girlfriend is working at (with Covid 19 patients) and well yeah there are no words to express the gratitude we all feel towards all the people on the front lines. Anyway stay well and stay safe and sending you hugs.

We had a good walk despite my stiff neck/back and then I enjoyed a wonderful chat with a dear woman I am lucky to have as a friend. We were eating dinner when my mobile rang and I wasn't near the phone and later when I checked to see who it was it was a number I didn't recognize but turned out to be someone from my endocrinologist office confirming my appointment tomorrow. WTH. So now I don't know if it is in office or telemedicine and it was too late to call back so I just hope I can get in touch with them today to see because the appointment is at 7AM and that is super early for me to go and then no one be there. And of course I don't really want to venture out but I am in need of blood work so I might have to go if he is indeed seeing people in his office. Oy. I wish I had kept the phone near me yesterday but oh well.

I’m so sorry to hear about Tommy @missy, another worry you really don’t need at the moment. I hope you managed to sort out your appt, albeit in person or on the phone. Don’t worry about us, we’re all good here, tomorrow is the 42nd anniversary of the day we met! We still make each other laugh every day, so we’re coping just fine. Is that cutie the little one your friends just adopted, what a little sweetie? How wonderful that she’s got a whole life of love ahead of her. I hope Greg is still feeling well and the stones are behaving.

I’m sorry @Tekate, I found the thread that caused the upset, and I have to say, I’m pretty disgusted as what you went through being minimised like that. FWIW, I agree with what you said, the world was a very different place, men’s attitudes to women are hopefully not the same now, well at least decent men, but it absolutely does not excuse that kind of behaviour. Did I ever tell you about my friend who was a BA Stew? She was constantly being groped by the cockpit crew when she’d go in with their trays. She got her revenge on a particularly ‘handy’ captain, when she ‘tripped’ and drop a cup of boiling hot coffee in his lap. Surprisingly enough, he never did it again I notice it’s the same few people who constantly try and force their opinions on others, whilst dismissing that anyone else has a valid opinion.

I’m glad that Chris is safely at home @Mamabean, I hope he continues to do well and stays healthy there. You’re going to have to do some serious baking to use all the flour! I’m running low here, and finding it difficult to get more. I really don’t want to buy a huge amount because I don’t think I’ll get through it. I did hear if you freeze it, or was that refrigerate it, it stops the little critters spoiling it.

I can look out the no yeast pizza dough recipe for you @marcy, just don’t add all that salt. It called for 350 gms of flour, but that made 2 really big pizzas, so if you wanted to make smaller, I’d cut the quantity in half. Sorry your shoulder is causing you so much bother. I hope you managed to get everything you needed at Sams this morning without too much trouble.

What are we going to do at Christmas @Calliecake, with all the exciting deliveries we’ve had this year, it’ll be a real anti climax

Not feeling very productive. Taking walks, working, cooking is about all I feel up to. Cleaning my jewelry today though at least some of it. My e-ring was getting greasy from all the lotion even though I take my rings off to put on lotion.
@Mamabean How are you doing? Sounds like your son's birthday was a success! Hoping your hubby is ok. I'm sure you'll make lots with that flour!

Then again, I did scrub head to toe out of the house (neighbours? - haven't asked for impressions & no one dared mention) after one pharmacy visit; I am only terrified of medical anything.
