Now I really did it :((

GM lovely ladies, happy Sunday.

Wish I could visit you!

Ditto this!

The summer hose is marvellous. Wish you could all come visit. We even have a (very very small) private sand beach :)
Ring, read below. Sorry. Lazy.

Nothing. I have to get the ring there, and that is not happening right now. But they have set aside a few stones for me to choose from. So it will be sorted in the end, thankfully.

At least you had the good sense for chocolate this time? Lol

He is!

I love PT session though, takes away the thinking LOL

I wish you could too!
Yay for enjoying your beautiful summer house. Who doesn't love a private beach. No worries re the ring. Once the pandemic is over it will be made right. Chocolate yasssss.

Hope the furry babies are doing well eyes and all. Hugs to all of you. And soon after the pandemic you can come and visit since your last visit to me was canceled. How is your mom doing @Scandinavian and your grandmother? Hope everyone is well. Hugs.

HI:

Went on an adventure today---rode to my dear friends new house--not so far away BUT THE HILLS!!!! One was so steep I could hardly walk my bike up!!!!! Good ride 16K.

But it was wonderful to see her--she is recovering from foot surgery and her new house is really gorgeous. And the weather was gorgeous. And stopped at our favorite Mexican spot--take out for supper. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

All round great day. My glutes will thank me later....

NIRDI shout out!

cheers--Sharon

Yay for cycling and visiting friends. I hate climbing the hills too. Too much work lol. Glad your weather is cooperating and yummm to Mexican takeout at your favorite restaurant. Glad you (and your glutes) had a marvelous day. Pretty scenery. XOXO.

@Slick1 hope you're having a wonderful weekend and big hugs to you.

@springerspaniel hope Ellie is continuing to do well in recovery and can come home soon. Big hugs to all of you.

@Daisys and Diamonds hello there, how is Gary and how is Melanie doing? Hugs to you and hope you are enjoying a lovely weekend dear girl. XOXO.

@MamaBee can you find Greg and the bike? :cool2: From our ride yesterday another pantascopic shot. LOL.

Hi to everyone else. We had an early cycling ride yesterday. Left before 6AM and got home after 11AM. A very good ride. It never did rain during the day but at night it poured. Today hoping for another good ride but hopefully with some ice cream at Dave's place. Have a lovely Sunday and stay safe and be well. Big hugs to all of you.

Leaving you with the baby geese (who are growing up fast before our very eyes) we passed on our cycling adventure yesterday. Awwww I just love these little guys.

Happy Sunday all.

Oh and have to share this. What a peaceful lovely beach scene from our early start yesterday. This makes waking up early worthwhile IMO.

I'm outta the dog house!! :):lol-2::cool2: I am not really exactly sure why I was put in there but 'some' posters found umbrage with my topic of Trump and causation :) but I was told it was for racist posts (whaaat?) oh well I decided to not fight it and have a hotternhell week in Texas agonizing over the house etc.

Auti is walking more or less, if she forgets she can walk she crawls.. toddlers.. So I have lurked a bit but not much because I really had to reassess my purpose and my judgement.. not sure I wanted to or could stay out of politics but came to the conclusion that some posters can't and won't understand the plight of those less fortunate and it's not for me in this life to try and assist the in changing - bye Felecia! lol

I've not perused NIRDIs yet because I always get overwhelmed if I loose track so I will today and will be saying hola and HI! to everyone.. I hope everyone is doing well.

@missy how are you? Did the big storm that hit the Jersey shore bother your house? I hope you all are surviving Missy. sending a kate hug your way. The Marvelous Missy!

@Bayek I was just staring at my screen trying to figure out how to get back in here. Haha I also feel overwhelmed because I also can‘t keep track.
I can’t believe that people though you made racist comments...That is so unlike you. I would never believe that. I NEVER talk politics. Once I was in the car with three of my close friends. They are a mix of different beliefs for everything that you can imagine. The two in the front got into a really heated discussion...I would say as the voices got louder it turned into an argument. These two people are normally the sweetest girls. Politics make people crazy...My friend that was sitting next to me in the back seat decided she would try to diffuse it. That didn’t work and she got sucked in. I kept my mouth shut and let them duke it out. They tried to engage me but I kept my mouth shut....Later on they laughed and said they stopped arguing because I was so quiet..haha
Your house is coming along great! I’m so excited for you.
How old is Autie now? She is such a cutie...I think they crawl when they can walk because they can get there faster by crawling in the beginning.
That‘s great that you got your colonoscopy done. Shatzie is going to make an appointment to get his done. I think it’s going to get worse so it’s best to get it done now. I just got my Pneumovax-23 two weeks ago...I also got my mammo on Thursday that was overdue..I wore eye protection and two masks..I got the results for my mammo an hour later. It usually takes a week or more to get the results. No one is getting them done because you have to be so close to the tech.
@missy I noticed the flag in the pic! Hahaha That made me laugh this morning. It’s like finding Waldo in the cartoon strips..haha
I hope all the kitties are good this morning..That’s great that Oliver is eating again..I‘m happy Gracie‘s eye is a bit better. I will go back and read more..
@junebug17 I’m glad that you and your hubby are staying in now that there’s a spike. I hope you and your hubby are finding things to do when you’re home. It’s a challenge to find fun things to do when you’re cooped up. Is your husband able to go out to play some golf? My husband plays golf.. but he stinks at it...He knows he's bad but still enjoys it.
@marcy Your photo of the meteor was great..You and Marty crack me up with your bears and bunnies. I’m sorry your boss was exposed to COVID..I hope he will be okay.
Hi to everyone else! I’ll be back! ❤

Hello lovelies

Sorry to be MIA, but we’ve had a really busy couple of days. Thank you for your birthday wishes for Colin.

Oy @Bayek, we’ve found it’s better not to discuss politics or religion, far too contentious and not worth losing friendships over. Having said that, I’m not reading any of those threads, because you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t. I find it ironic that the same people who label others as racist or whatever, don’t see their own hypocrisy, so not worth wasting the time or energy! How’s things going with the house, have they started the pool?

So glad Ellie came through the op @springerspaniel, hope she’s making a good recovery.

Hi @MamaBee, glad you got your mammo done I’m due for one, but not in any rush, not even sure they’re doing them here yet anyway.

Beautiful view @Scandanavian, so peaceful, just what you need at this time.

Brace yourself for the hot weather again @Niffler75 and try to stay cool.

Glad you’ve been able to get out and ride early in the morning @missy, it’s certainly good for the soul to do something you enjoy. Hope the kitties are all doing better and things are relatively stable there. Continuing to send you positive thoughts for all you’re dealing with.

16K @canuk-gal, I would think your whole body thanked you! Glad you got to spend time with your friend.

We have appts for the dentist for next week, but it doesn’t look like they’ll be keeping them @marcy, they’re only dealing with emergencies, so no idea when we’ll get in a regular check up. I hope you enjoyed your evening with friends, sounds like you had it all worked out.

We went over to Sue & Robs on Friday, she made us a lovely meal, we sat in the garden, and the day just passed by so quickly. When we got home, Adam and Kim FaceTimed Colin to wish him happy birthday, and we didn’t finish talking to them till after 11pm. Yesterday, I had a lot of cleaning to do, and other jobs around the house, and we had to clean up our outside table so we could eat there. By the time Tracey & John left and we cleared up, it was another late night.

We were startled up this morning by a delivery that was scheduled for tomorrow, compost and bark from the garden centre. We’ve spent all morning outside weeding and tidying up the front garden so we could put down more bark to stop those pesky weeds coming back, and now we’re sitting in the garden relaxing, phew!

I hope all the lovely NIRDIs are having a good weekend and getting some R&R in :wavey:

Hi NIRDI’s

@missy gorgeous sunrise picture but I am sorry you were out that early. Yesterday my 5th day of getting up at 4am to see the comet caught up with me. Glad it’s moving to the evening sky. You nailed our weather for sure but the only difference is we get hurricane force winds without all the water. LOL. Good deal to get your shopping done and stocking up on supplies. Those baby geese are almost full grown now; I noticed the ones at work were about the same size. Love all of your pretty pictures and hope you got some ice cream. What a sweet looking deer.

@Niffler75 your stargazing plans sounds like a lot of fun. Is there someplace close that has pretty dark skies? I hope you had a nice and relaxing weekend. I hope it does work out for your DH to return safely to work in a few weeks.

@springerspaniel I am glad to hear Ellie is doing well and getting spoiled.

@Scandinavian your private beach looks relaxing and beautiful. I am glad you are enjoying your summer house.

@canuk-gal sounds like a fun day with a long bike ride, visiting your friend and getting take out for dinner. Now that steep hill does not sound fun.

@Bayek that’s kind of cute Auti switches between walking and crawling; this old lady in Wyoming can sympathize with her on that.

@MamaBee it is hard to keep up here. I hope you are doing well. Glad you got some tests done; I had my teeth cleaned and checked, getting my oil changed this week and then both of us have eye exams in a few weeks. I’ve been putting all of those things off. Thank you - our bunny and bear stories amuse us and I am sure most people think we’re nuts. When my mom was so bad she barely talked or answered questions but she would totally laugh and smile at our bear / rabbit stories. Glad we gave her a smile.

@Austina darn they cancelled your dentist appointments. I was glad to get that done. I guess there is quite a shortage of dental hygienists in town, 12 of them didn’t return to their jobs after the dentists open for business again. You and Colin did have a very busy weekend. Glad you caught up with some friends and had a lovely visit with Adam and Kim.

We had a good weekend. Yesterday Marty went hiking in the morning so I did laundry and got things out for our dinner with friends. I went and got Arby’s for lunch and read in the afternoon. Dinner and cards went well. The “new” cribbage went okay but the vote of 3 to 1 after one complete round was play the game as we usually do. Either way it was still fun. Marty shuffled and dealt for me since my fingers are so sore. I did chuckle when our friends showed up; I told them all of my “safety” measures and the guy said “Marcy of any of our friends or family your house is the last one we’d worry about it being full of germs.” My OCD must be well known.

I was up at 4 am yesterday to see the comet and had left my digital SLR out to take some close up pictures but I obviously didn’t remember how to set everything up in the dark, was too lazy to get out my tripod and wasted about 90 minutes and only got decent photos again with my cell phone. My SLR doesn’t “show” your picture on the back screen so I had an awful time trying to focus on a small, dim object. I woke up at 4:18 today and said forget it; I’m staying in bed.

Today I finished up dishes from last night and lifted. Marty picked up lunch for us from Culver’s on his way home from the gym. We also had a mini cheesecake since I had some cherries left.

Take care.
Marcy

Hi everyone!

@Welcome back @Bayek! How is your shoulder? Hang in there with the house, it's a lot of work but will be worth it when you are finally living in your beautiful home. Exciting that Auti is walking, and I hope everything is good with the family.

@missy, I hope the kitties are doing ok and things have settled down with them a bit. Sending healing vibes to Tommy and Bobby. Hopefully Gracie and Oliver's eyes are doing better and everyone is eating. Great news about Greg's biopsy, such a relief. Glad your PT has been extended, sounds like you're working hard.

Hi @MamaBee,, things are good here, dh is working from home and I manage to keep busy. We're staying close to home these days. I get together with my sister and make the occasional trip to the grocery store. It must be nice having Shatzie with you, you spent a lot of time away from him. I know this pandemic causes a lot of worry and I hope you're feeling a little better about things.

@Scandinavian, I'm sorry about your furbabies' eye issues and hopefullly a specialist can help them. So nice that you're enjoying your beautiful summer house. Your view is beautiful! Good to hear your mother and grandmother are doing ok.

@Austina, I'm thinking it would be fun to take golf lessons, hopefully one day soon. Happy Birthday to Colin! So glad you were able to get together with friends over the weekend, sounds wonderful. Pulling weeds is exhausting, relaxing afterwards must have felt great.

@Niffler75, it's too bad your son's school plans have been interrupted and hopefully everything will work out for September. Star gazing sounds like so much fun. And hot chocolate - No wonder ds is excited!

@canuk-gal, sounds like you've been working very hard lately. Hope you got to rest and relax over the weekend. Nice you've been doing some cycling. Having mexican food and seeing a good friend makes for a great day, glad you had such an enjoyable day.

@marcy, lol to your friends not worrying about germs at your house! Sounds like the dinner was a lot of fun. I'm sorry you had trouble with the SLR and I can see why you decided to stay in bed lol. Glad you had a good weekend and I hope you have a good start to the workweek.

@springerspaniel, wonderful news about Ellie! So glad she're recovering well and I hope she's completely back to normal very soon.

@bling_dream19, wow, you really are working a lot. Hope you can figure out a way to lessen that workday at least a little. Hope you were able to have some down time over the weekend.

Hello @Daisys and Diamonds! Hope things are going ok with you and Gary.

Absolutely nothing new with me...had a quiet weekend - went to the beach for a while, watched golf and dh cooked on the grill. My sister and her dog are coming over tomorrow so that will be tomorrow's excitement. He's a bichon and just the cutest thing.

GM girls! It's Monday and another warm here today.

@marcy wow you got up early this past week. I hope you are sleeping in this morning. Sweet you saw the Comet though but you were keeping Missy hours if you were also heading to bed before 8:30/9 PM haha. A hurricane isn't any fun even without the water. Let's hope the hurricanes stay far away from all of us this year. It's been a challenging enough year for sure. Nice Marty went hiking and good job on finishing the laundry before dinner with friends and cards afterwards. A good weekend.

Glad your teeth are cleaned and your eyes are going to be checked soon. I am sorry your fingers are sore and glad you have Marty to do the mixing and shuffling. You guys are a team and work together. That's everything. Smart having "safety" measures in place and times like these make having a bit of OCD very helpful IMO. I am sorry you couldn't get the photos you wanted of the Comet, darn. Ummm, did someone say cheesecake with cherries on top? OMG I need some right now at 5:30 AM. Pretty please with cherries on top. :lickout: XO.

@junebug17 you enjoyed a purrfect weekend. Beach, sand, sea, golf and grilling. Yummm to it all. Quiet is sweet. It is anything but quiet at the Jersey shore. I cannot tell you what traffic and mayhem exists here. All through the day cars are backed up to and from the beaches. We zip by on our bike but my goodness it is crazy busy at the beach and boardwalks here. We have never seen anything quite like this before.

What nice plans you have to look forward to for today. I would so love to see my sister and her family. It's been so long since we saw anyone in my family since Covid. If we make it through and are clear after next week health wise we are inviting my parents over and we will social distance in the backyard with masks if necessary. We already spoke with my parents about this and we are all looking forward to seeing each other. Fingers crossed we all remain well and can do so. Thank you for your continued well wishes for the kitties and for everyone. How is your brother doing Junie. I am keeping good thoughts for him and all of you. Enjoy a lovely day Junie. XO.

@Austina I am very pleased Colin had a nice birthday and plans with your friends Sue and Rob and Tracey and John sounded lovely. I am sorry they canceled your dental appointments for this week. I guess they are being safe and better safe than sorry. Hopefully they will reschedule you as soon as it is safe to do so. I am glad your delivery came early and you guys were busy weeding and gardening and it must feel so good to have accomplished all that. Big hugs and have a lovely rest of your Monday.

@Bayek girlie, you have been missed here. And you know what I think of those people who make ridiculous accusations. You are da best and you are Kate the Great. We all love and adore you. Wow to Auti walking already. I know how hard it is you cannot see her as often as you want to. Glad the house is coming along but ouch to the cost. It always costs so much more than we expect. I hope you and John can get those costs controlled and still build the house and pool of your dreams. How is your shoulder feeling? When is your surgery scheduled? I think it is next month and I am sending continued bucketloads of healing dust and lots of hugs and love.

Speaking of healing dust @springerspaniel continued well wishes to Ellie on her recovery and I hope she is home with you guys now. Hugs and lots of good thoughts being sent to you and your entire family furry and otherwise.

@Slick1 hope the rest of your weekend went very well. It was hot here but we managed to cycle over 60 miles again woohoo. Hope your Monday is a good one and big hugs.

@Scandinavian how is your mom and grandmother doing and how are the pups? Hugs to all of you. Oh and Greg and I both enjoyed a LARGE ice cream yesterday. It was big lol. I needed it. I am an ice cream holic.

Screen Shot 2020-07-13 at 5.36.59 AM.png

@MamaBee haha I knew you would find him. How is David and how is your mom doing? How is the house situation going? Are you know what gone I hope? Sending you lots of hugs and love and hope all is calm by you. XOXO.

@canuk-gal I love that we both share a passion for cycling. I think of you when we cycle and always think to myself I hope Sharon is enjoying cycling right now too. I am glad you spent time with your friend the other day and hope soon we can spend even more time with friends and family. It's a surreal time that is for sure. Hugs across the miles dear Sharon. Be safe and be well.

Hi to everyone else. Hope all is well with everyone and that you all enjoyed a happy and healthy weekend.
We had a good Cycling Sunday and then we got home and Greg enjoyed a swim in the sea. All in all a purrrfect summer day. And ice cream was involved.

This was a large portion and it was huge. I had no issue finishing it. LOL was there any doubt?

Screen Shot 2020-07-13 at 5.38.39 AM.png

Then Greg enjoyed a lovely swim and float in the sea. Gorgeous and the temps were sweet. mid to high 70s in the ocean and 80s outside.
Purrrfect.

Screen Shot 2020-07-13 at 5.39.25 AM.png

@MamaBee can you spot Greg?

Screen Shot 2020-07-13 at 5.42.27 AM.png

The water and sky were super blue yesterday. And the clouds so fluffy and white. Gorgeous.

Screen Shot 2020-07-13 at 5.39.57 AM.png

Last night we had a bit of excitement here as the power went out and the generator went on but didn't transfer the electricity to the house. Fortunately less than 10 minutes later all the power was restored. But the electrician is coming tomorrow to see if our transfer switch is faulty or if perhaps (what he thinks) is that since the power wasn't out for long the generator and transfer switch sensed there was power from the grid so didn't transfer it from the generator to us. But the generator was on so it was strange. Anyway I am relieved the power was restored as I don't do well in the heat without AC.

Today I have PT and then Greg has a urology appointment where I hope we find out what his kidney stones are made of and hoping there is something we can do for them to hopefully prevent them from forming. Then if time and weather permits we are going cycling.

Have a great day girls and hugs to everyone.
(((Hugs))).

Ice cream in NJ
good to know something in the world is normal =)2

True dat. Normal feels so good. I wish we could all get back to some semblance of normalcy soon.
@Daisys and Diamonds how are Gary and Melanie doing? I always keep good thoughts for all of you and you are enjoying peaceful days.

@Niffler75 how was the rest of your weekend? And how is your sweet son doing? I hope you both love all his teachers and that life is calm and all is well. Sending you hugs and well wishes.

Just spoke with my parents. My dad saw the retinal specialist this morning. His “good” (previously unaffected) eye now has not insignificant macula degeneration. :(

He received an injection in the “bad” eye and in 2 weeks he goes back for an injection in the “good” newly affected eye.

My poor dad. I know he shouldn’t be driving but they are both so stubborn. My mom doesn’t know how to drive so he’s the only driver for them. Oy please give us strength and safety for everyone. And Please let my dad be ok.

Thanks for letting me share.

Sorry about your Dad eyes. Parents are a constant worry--my Mom fell this week and hurt herself. :(

Oh no, I’m sorry Sharon :(
I’m sending bucketloads of healing dust to her and gentle hugs to you both. I hope she makes a full and easy recovery. (((Hugs))).

Aging is certainly challenging in many ways.

@missy I am sorry to hear about your dad's eye.
Also @canuk-gal I hope your mum is ok after the fall.
The worry for aging parents and restrictions that Covid is placing on us is stressful indeed. I am worried about my MIL, recently bereaved, living alone and we can't visit. She has family nearby and we call often, but still.......:cry2:

Hello lovelies

Oh no @canuk-gal, your poor Mum, hope she didn’t get too shaken up or break anything, what a worry for you. Our friends Sue & Rob had a scare a couple of weeks ago when Rob’s Mum broke her hip. They thought it might be the end, but they got her to hospital and did a hip replacement, and she’s doing ok, she’s 93!

Hopefully you’ll be able to get to see your MIL soon @Niffler75, makes you feel so helpless not being able to just see her face to face and give her a hug. I’m sure she knows that you would if you could, and just wants you to keep safe.

Glad you’re having a good time at the beach @junebug17, your weekend sounds just perfect, and what fun to have your sister and her pooch come over today for a visit. It’s the small things that make us feel a little ‘normal’.

Hi @Daisys and Diamonds, I hope you and Gary are doing well and that Melanie is holding her own.

Sorry your fingers are causing you pain @marcy. I think if you and your friends are doing everything you can to socially distance, and taking all the necessary precautions, you should be fine. Sounds like you had fun and some normality is good makes it easier to accept that this will eventually be over.

Oh no @missy, your poor Dad. I don’t know what the situation is there, but any significant changes to health or vision, have to be reported to our DVLA (driver and vehicle licensing agency - I think), as you may have your licence revoked, and therefore invalidate your insurance. I’m sure you must be so worried about him driving, and I’m also sure he won‘t want to give up and lose his independence, what a worry for you. Getting together with them soon sounds lovely, and being outdoors and socially distancing carries a lot less risk, and you’ll be taking all necessary precautions. How are the kitties doing? Greg’s a brave soul swimming in the sea, was it warm?

We booked a tee time and played golf this afternoon, phew it was hot, and I didn’t play very well after a 17 year break  Hopefully next time, I’ll play better.

I had a play around with one of those hair dye try on websites yesterday, let’s just say, I’m not going grey anytime soon
I hope you’re all having a good start to the week. :wavey:

Sorry about your Dad eyes. Parents are a constant worry--my Mom fell this week and hurt herself. :(

I feel so bad your mom fell and hurt herself. I hope she’s okay.

@missy I hope your dad’s injections help him. Does he say he has trouble driving? If it wasn’t for the darn virus you could set him up with Uber. I understand why your mom doesn’t drive. I didn’t drive until I got married in my twenties. The train was just down the street so I took that everywhere. The buses also ran close to my house.
It’s been a busy day..What else is new? Tomorrow should be better. Hi to everyone!!

I feel so bad your mom fell and hurt herself. I hope she’s okay.

Thank you Joanne. I feel bad also! I just spoke to her--and she is not worse. I encouraged her to take the Tylenol every 4 hours and not just PRN. She had X-Rays and will talk to the Dr. again on Wed.

cheers--Sharon

Hi sparkly nirdies! I hope everyone is well and happy.
@missy Oh gosh your poor sweet dad I hope his eye improves. Thinking about you and Freg everyday Missy. Thinking about yall in your grief and thinking about yall biking and enjoying Jersey icecream. I can't believe how crazy it is there as you've said. Love abs hugs to you.
@junebug17 thank you for thinking of me. You're so sweet. I'm taking some down time this week. And thank you @marcy too for your sweet thoughts. I was having a tough day but feeling better. My hubby told me about this comet but I've not gotten up that early lol. And thank you for your post about marital advice. it was really thoughtful and practical.
Hi @MamaBee @Austina @canuk-gal hope your mom is ok. I agree with all that aging parents is very difficult.
I thinking about each of you each day and sending lots of love!

@MamaBee I seem to have always been involved in discussing politics from birth, whenever the 'family' would get together politics was often on the menu (and as you said about your friends - fighting!) then I married my first husband and they were Italian and louder but didn't fight as much but drank as much and smoked more. John is political and so are some of his brothers and they joke around (one is a republican).. Here on PS I encountered some pretty right wing opinions and as I am passionate about making the world and our country a truly better place - I argue, but I think the biggest problem was the 'boomer remover' thread, I annoyed a bunch of people who (as I did when I was young btw) don't want advice or critical thinking, there is the people who found me pushy. So I don't know why 'Ella' put me on notice for a week - but I didn't really care either, because I can Insta most of you guys.. AND the house! the house is become the all time money pit! haha. I've been looking at pendants and paint colors and toilets, and it's all overwhelming my time.. also my bestie... and I miss Auti.. I'm due for my operation on 7/29 and will be outta commission for a while with only one arm :) so there you have it, the wacky, crazy, weird world of Kate - lately :) Tomorrow Auti will be 15 months! she ignores me, she looks at me but is becoming more of a person and less a baby... how's your new grandson? good I hope, dang they grow up so fast. I got the results of my mammo in 2 days, which was fast I thought! I was a year behind on my colonoscopy! I need my teeth cleaned, I need something done to my lower right jaw (the place of no more implants, the infection ZONE!)..

@junebug17 Greetings June!!! I'm glad you and your husband are staying in too. Take care! so much sadness and craziness in our country right now it takes one's breath away.. Hope DS, DD and your brother are all doing well... My shoulder hurts like the dickens (what does that mean???!) seriously have had enough pain in it to be desiring the new shoulder... but surgery right now to me is scary.. We shall see if they r/s me, right now it's only needed surgery and a shoulder replacement is considered elective surgery, but the pain is intense so I assume my surgeon is pushing it that way. dunno :) have a lovely visit with your sister and her bison (they are adorable!) and sending you love June always.

@Niffler75 hello lady! I am back! the whole thing had a Kafkaesque feel to it! but if one has a big, fat mouth one must pay the piper :) how's the little guy? how are you feeling? hope all is well sweetie! xoxo (don't work too hard please!)

@Austina AUSTINA! hello, and yes you are so right, I should definitely NOT involve myself in political discussions here or anywhere, I am tired of it anyway, what will be will be (eeekk! I sound like my mom!) Your visit with friends sounded wonderful Austina, today in this world of Covid-19 a nice visit with friends - albeit we have to distance - is so so good for the soul I think.. makes one feel normal.. glad you did it! Happy belated bday to the wonderful Colin - give him a hello from John and I and we are waiting for our first dinner at the pool with our families. truly. I need to go to the dentist too, but I expect they will be closing up here again, Austina it's getting truly out of hand here.. I look forward to seeing you as soon as we can :) we will go to Whiteflash and I know the are other PSers in the Houston area. mini meetup.. take care all love to you and your family. xoxo

@marcy how is YOUR shoulder? how are you feeling? I must read back to see if Marty has retaliated against your bunny. Don't you think comets are amazing! I saw only one in my life at my mom and dad's in Ocala, Florida about 18 years ago.. I was watching it and thinking I could see why in olden times people were afraid it was a God or evil spirit or something bad coming their way and then I thought 'boy I'm glad I'm alive today!" . Hope you and Marty are doing and feeling well.. sending you lotsa love!.

@missy my Marvelous, magnificent Missy I am so glad to be back here in NIRDIs, the best hangout with the best women on EARTH. Sweetie I'm going under the knife! (drama drama!) on 7/29 but that is now, Covid-19 is so rampant here we shall see. I know how you miss your sister and nieces, it's like a cut to the heart.. Missy to me there is nothing to compare to swimming in the ocean.. the waves, the sounds, the sun, the sand, it's just heaven... I'm so glad you and Greg get to enjoy this, it just calms my soul when I write this.

1594687882822.png HEAVEN for me.

I'm sorry if you had mentioned your Dad has macular degeneration I forgot..Sorry to read his other eye seems to be affected also now :( I hope there are things that can be done today, I read where you said your Dad had an injection in his good and and in weeks his newly affected eye.. I have the start of MD in one of my eye's my optometrist i Maine said 2 years running (funny when I had my DNA done it was stated that I had 1 gene that is MD but you need 2 to really have a serious chance of developing it. I hope is good eye recovers Missy, his driving would be quite worrisome for you and your sister and husbands if he has both eyes occluded in the center. Sending you strength Missy and love and healing, loving thoughts to your Dad and Mom.. I'm sure you have him going to the best retinal specialist he can get to.. The pictures of Greg are gorgeous! how's his knee doing and is he still doing P/T?? miss you Missy. and love you! xoxoxo

House stuff:

1594689739724.png The pool dig. against the back wall will be a a wall with 2 sheers. They have started (actually they have finished) the roof of the outdoor kitchen area.

1594689878805.png The patio, if you look you can see the fireplace, as of yesterday the firebox is in, we are just doing gas here, I miss my winters and fall and real wood fireplace of Maine. :(

1594690039304.png The front door, transoms on the top and there will be a very big door (very big and expensive dumb door). Hey duct work is grooving in ! :)

1594690165113.png View thru the outdoor kitchen to the patio and the master..I truly am sick of building.. I was never cut out to do this kind of minute detail.. I'm the big pix girl all the way (or rather woman!)...

enough of this mess.. as I said NIDI ladies, I missed you all, I think the world of you all and am glad I'm out of the dog house.. sending love to you all.

Kate the GrEAt

I missed you Kate the Great! Kate love is the best! Your house is looking amazing and ours really coming along. So sorry about your surgery but hopefully you will feel better. Your posts are so much fun and conversational!

GM lovely ladies!

@Niffler75 I am sorry about your MIL and hope you get to visit her soon. Hugs to all of you.

@canuk-gal I am glad your mom has you there for her advising her as to the best course of action and that her doctor is on top of things. Hope the Xray results show all is A OK and that the Tylenol helps with her pain and that she is right as rain very soon. Hugs.

@Bayek aww thank you for all your comforting warm kind comments. Yes my dad has mac degeneration in both eyes and has been receiving Lucentis injections for a few years now in the first affected eye and now the other eye is affected. IDK what his vision is but it isn't good and he should not be driving. NY state license rules however do not take into account peripheral vision and they should. So far he passes the vision part of the driving test each time he has to renew. Not sure now if he will be able to but I am staying out of it. I would get my head bitten off if I interfere so I cannot. Greg is doing well thank you. His knee is great. His other knee needs to be done now but I told him not anytime soon. He has those 2 large kidney stones in his kidney and the urologist said he could schedule another lithotripsy to take care of one at at time. I am not sure if we should wait or go ahead. Covid is increasing everywhere. Making things less safe. I hear you re your shoulder surgery and I hope you can get it Kate the Great. I want you to have sweet relief. I am guessing you have to do PT afterwards too. Do you have a good PT place lined up for after your surgery? Your house is coming along amazingly. I love seeing all your wonderful photos. Sending you big hugs and much love. And please tell your wonderful family (Katie included please) I say hello and send them good wishes.

@Austina glad you enjoyed golf and I have no doubt your game will improve as you keep on playing. Yes the sea is nice and warm but still refreshing. I am guessing mid 70s F. Greg enjoyed another swim yesterday and it was heavenly. He said he remembers what being at the shore is supposed to feel like. Cycling, swimming and just relaxing outside. As you know our days have been filled with many unpleasant things we need to do and we are still taking things one day at a time. Thank you for all your kind and loving comments. Much appreciated. Are the hairdressers not seeing clients now? Is that why you are looking into dying your hair yourself? Maybe call your hairdresser and see if she/he can mail you some of their dye. I think professional dye could be safer? But not sure so I could be totally wrong. No matter what you are beautiful so hang in there. Hugs to you and Colin and Adam and Kim.

@Slick1 how is your week going? How are your kids doing? Sending you hugs and love and hoping all is going smoothly.

@MamaBee hope you are enjoying a peaceful week. Hugs to all of you.

@bling_dream19 how are you and your sweet hubby doing? I think of you every time we get ice cream. And hope one day after the pandemic you can join us. Hope you are having a lovely week and that work is going well. Hugs to you and your DH.

@Daisys and Diamonds sending you well wishes and lots of hugs.

@AV_ I have missed you and hope you are well. Thinking of you. XOXO.

@Keeliamira thinking of you and hoping you are feeling well and that your family is well. Hugs.

@sarahb good morning Sarah, I hope life is going smoothly for you and your family and that everyone is well. Hugs.

Hi to everyone else! Hope all is going smoothly and that everyone feels well.
We enjoyed another cycling day and had ice cream and it was a purrfect summer day. I also had a good PT session. I worked it baby. :)

Hello lovelies

@Bayek, wow the house is really taking shape, and things are moving on quickly. I wish I was there to live vicariously through you and possibly *help* with your interior choices, I would be in heaven, or as we say here, happy as a pig in s**t  Yes, ever since we’ve been able to meet with friends in our homes, life has felt a little bit normal, and I’ve felt a lot happier. Hope you can get your shoulder surgery and finally get out of pain.

I hope everything is going well with you @MamaBee and your DH is keeping safe and well, and thereby keeping you, David and your Mum safe too.

Hairdressers are open again here @missy, I was just playing to see what I’d look like with grey hair. In all honesty, it didn’t look too bad, but there’s no guarantee my hair would turn that grey colour, so I’m going to keep on colouring it for as long as possible. I’m sorry you’re facing another dilemma with Greg’s stones, I’m not sure what I’d do, part of me thinks get it over quickly before things get worse and it becomes an emergency. Wow, the sea was really warm, no wonder Greg enjoyed his swim. The scenes at the beach look far more sensible than the huge crowds, if only it’d stay that way. I hope your Dad stays safe driving.

How are all the other lovely NIRDIs doing?

I did Pilates via Zoom this morning, then we went to Costco this afternoon, at least 50% of the customers were wearing masks, and all of the staff. From the 24th everyone will have to wear masks in stores, which will be great.

Going to meet Sue & Rob for a walk tomorrow afternoon, keep safe and well everyone :wavey:

Hi NIRDI's!

@junebug17 how nice to have your sister come visit and her dog sounds fun. Glad you have a quiet weekend. We watched golf too I do plan on practcing in the light with my "big" camera. That sucker has not seen the light of day for a few years and I am obviously out of practice. Auto works fine though.

@missy I am sorry to hear about your dad and it is so worrisome about him driving; that is one of those things you hope they decide / realize it is time to give it up but that's tough. My grandmother called us one day and told us to come get her car NOW (she lived 50 miles away). She never told us why but she must have had something scare her to the point she knew she shouldn't drive anymore. Yes I was keeping Missy hours with the comet but sadly going to bed at Marcy hours. That made for really short nights. I did wake up at 4 today but resisted going to look; Marty said it was nice though. Cheesecake and cherries are the best. Mmm. Sending some your way now. I hope you get to see your family soon; hopefully a lovely BBQ on your deck will be happening soon. That's great news Greg's knee is doing well and hope he can put off the other knee for a while. Darn those pesky kidney stones though. Glad you are getting in some lovely rides and getting to enjoy ice cream. I love your pictures showing some of you day. I hope they figured out why your generator didn't kick on the power to the house. Glad your PT session went well.

@Daisys and Diamonds I hope you enjoy some ice cream too.

@canuk-gal I am so sorry to hear your mom fell; sending her mega dust to feel better soon.

@Niffler75 hoping you can go visit your MIL soon; it's nice you can visit by phone - does she do FaceTime so you can see each other?

@Austina nice you got to play some golf. Marty hasn't gone to the course once this summer. His gym is keeping him busy. It's hard to decide on a big change for your hair. I need to start drying my hair in the sun - it really bleaches it out and lightenss it up. I never do though. That's so nice you go walking with your friends. Glad you had Zoom Pilates today and got your Costco shopping done. I might try Sams Club this week.

@MamaBee you certainly drive a lot now. Where I live there is virtually no public transportation and we are spread out so you can't walk everywhere. We have to start driving as soon as we can.

@bling_dream19 I hope your week is going better with less stress and more happy times. You can see the comet at night now - it's to the NW and will be moving to the W every night under the Big Dipper. I hope you find it. I'll try to post a link or map to it later.

@Bayek your house is really coming along. It seems like that part went quick for us; but finishing everying inside took forever (or so it seemed). Auti is 15 months already? She is growing up fast. Sorry your shoulder hurts so much and I hope they don't postpone your very necessary surgery. My arm / shoulder is slightly better but still gives me heck many times a day. My right knee competes for attention though. Yesterday we had cold, driving rain when I was limping out of work and this very nice man rushed outside and offered to get my car door open for me. I really appreciated his kindness. No, Marty has NOT retaliated against me for his rabbit yet; the longer it goes the more nervous I get. He does keep trying to take my favorite bear to the gym though. Thank you, we are doing well and hope you and John are doing great.

Not much going on with me. I finished book 11 of that 13 book series. 2 more to go. I saw the comet with binoculars last night from my light polluted front porch, definitely not naked eye. We had a few thunderstorms and hot weather, today is back in the 60's though. I worked from home tomorrow and Thursday. Friday is a big outing - going to Colorado to get my oil changed. I am kind of nervous about going because that city has had some riots and blocking cars in the road. Joy.

Take care.
Marcy

Hi everyone :wavey: A flying visit today to check in with everyone
@marcy Hi, thanks for your kind words. My MIL hasn't got internet (we have offered to pay) so for how it's the phone. My son misses 'granny'. We were watching the film Artemis Fowl and it stars Judi Dench with an Irish accent that according to my son she sounds just like granny! =)2
@Bayek Hi, gosh the build is making progress. Do you have a timeframe for it being completed? We will keep you company after your shoulder and keep your spirits up! ;)2
@missy There's no such thing as too much ice cream in my books. Just enjoyed a bowl of snickers ice cream here (vanilla with caramel and chocolate covered peanuts). The zero calorie version of course! :liar:
We have the final visit from my sons teacher tomorrow before the summer break. We've been busy planning a timetable of what will happen from september with school.
Been thinking about everyone. @Keeliamira nice to see you on the boards. How's things?

@missy, Hang in there... it must get better soon. You will (probably) not believe this, but both our dogs have had some sort of eye problems too this past week. First I thought it was a bacterial infection, but turned out it was a tear in the cornea on one and iris on the other. Oh well. Starting to get better now. But they also discovered that our youngest dog (3 years old) has cataracts and our oldest is starting to have permanent problems with the iris, like a "string" or something, that will leave her sensitive to sunlight, especially when there is snow. I'll get them to another specialist when holiday season is over and people are back at work.

The days fly by, I have no idea where they are going.

Hugs!

Scandi, just dropped by to check in. My dog had cataract surgery last year that was very successful. I felt guilty about putting him though it, but after I had MY cataract surgery, I realized that it wasn’t an awful thing to go through.
In my case, I now have UV protective lenses. Maybe they that do that for pups as well.
