It was an electrical part gone bad. What a relief! I asked him if we should replace the same electrical part on the upstairs unit and he said it was up to me but he checked it out and it seems fine. OK I will not be OCD about this and let the upstairs unit be. He's still here...should I change my mind and have him replace the upstairs unit? LOL. NO that is too much even for me. Not necessary. Right?

I’m a bad influence because I would want to do it because he’s there and it during Covid. I think it will be fine...My husband would be upset if I replaced something that was still working. Happy Caturday friends! Whew what a week and I'm very glad for the weekend. Plus I'm going to be getting a HUGE shipment from DKJ this week if all goes well...

He has my old jackets and offered to make me new jackets with my diamonds and metal but we decided, let's see how I like the 3 prong martini before we make the jackets. I don't like a lot of metal so I'm really hoping I love them. I'm worried the 3 prong will mess with my even issues lol. I already have 4 prong studs and I want something different. I love the look of 6 prongs but I'm scared of all of the metal lol.

Girls..Pre-Covid I had Yvonne Raley make me little tourmaline drops for little huggies...I never wore them. I was playing in my jewelry today when I came across them again. I had David make me diamond huggies..but they came out more like hoops. The jump ring on the drops is pretty large...I actually asked for them to bigger than normal because the little huggies has a large latch on the end that the drops had to go over. I decided to try to put them on the diamond hoops...What do you think? Are they too small for the hoop? I took a million pics and I couldn’t get a better pic...Sorry..

It’s hard for me to see. My gut says (based on that photo only) you could go bigger re the drops. Or put them on the end of smaller huggies so the proportion works better. I got the Twingo a year ago and from the first day it was a little slow to turn over. I guess I’ll find out if the battery was not good all along or if there is something draining the battery. I must say, the car did at least start, lazily, after being parked over the winter.
But now what fun to turn the key and have it instantly come to life!

The Twingo has now officially paid for itself. It cost about half of what a rental would have been for all the time I’ve spent here in the last 12 months.
If I move here I’ll get a real car. Will you come over and go car shopping with me??

I agree Missy..I really wanted them to be huggies..not hoops... close to my earlobe. I even sent a pair to copy but just wanted them with bigger diamonds. They’re beautifully made but I’m not much of a hoop person. When I was much younger..20’s I wore the big thin hoops.. I loved them. After I had babies I stopped wearing them because they would pull them out of my ears! Ouch!

Haha..Thank you but it really isn’t! It’s frizzy and curly...I use a great product to make it smooth when I flat iron it! You would be shocked to see what it looks like after a shower when it dries naturally!

@bling_dream19 when are you expecting all your delicious bling to arrive? Speaking of delicious we visited Jimmy yesterday (photo in post above) and we social distanced except for that one pic and the rest of the time we were 10 feet apart from him outdoors so all is good. It was great seeing him as we hadn't been there since last January! We are back though going there for now since he has all the delicious vegan flavors homemade and such a great seating area too. And his company is always uplifting. You would love him.

The outdoor area is decorated with sculptures and paintings and flowers. It's an oasis amidst a sea of chaos in Asbury. Beautiful.

One sculpture is a bird in a nest. Isn't that amazing?


Our yummy homemade ice cream. I got peanut butter and jelly and Greg had cookie monster. Yummmmm.




There are many different seating areas all over and Asbury has blocked all traffic to cars so people are enjoying food out in the streets at little outdoor tables. It really is a lovely scene. We were fortunate that it was just Greg and I and Jimmy at the outdoor ice cream area yesterday so it felt very safe and as I wrote we were social distancing from jimmy the entire time but for the photo that took 10 seconds. And they wore masks for the photo.


It was a gorgeous day yesterday. Blue skies. Sharp landscape. Deep blue ocean. Amazing clouds. It felt good to be alive. Today hoping for a similar day but for one change. I have to see the podiatrist today as that pesky toenail has gotten very persistent and is squawking. So lucky as I was able to snag a 4PM appointment today. Thank goodness because it came on all of a sudden yesterday afternoon and it isn't letting up so whew. It's always something and generally multiple somethings. Speaking of which thank you Joanne and Slick for everything and all your warm caring support offline.

@canuk-gal hope you get some more cycling in this lovely last day of August and hope all is well. Sending you much love and hugs and hope this is a good week. For you and your family. XOXO.

Poor Bailey @MamaBee, I hope his leg heals up quickly. I’m so sorry about your brothers, what a terrible time that must’ve been for your family, and so sad that you had to go through that. They say time is a great healer, but I doubt it’s something you ever comes to terms with. The earrings are pretty, but I agree, they look a bit undersized on your hoops.

Sounds like your neighbour is trying to make a fast buck @Jimmianne, but if it’s that overpriced, it doesn’t sound like it’s going to sell anytime soon. Even more surprising that he thinks you’d be willing to pay his exorbitant price!

@missy, have you already lived through Monday? What a relief that your a/c is all fixed, we’re used to suffering in the heat, but once you’re used to it, you can’t live without it. Your nieces are such lovely girls and wow, they’re growing up so fast, each time you post a photo, they look more grown up. That was a fun photo at the ice cream place. Oh no to that pesky nail, that was lucky you managed to get an appointment so quickly, hopefully before it’s got too bad. Your weather sounds perfect, it’s become quite autumnal here, we even lit the fire on Saturday night when our friends were here, it was decidedly chilly.

Unfortunately my friend Dawn’s poor little Ellie didn’t make it, and understandably she’s absolutely devastated, the sweet little girl was only 3. I’m so angry on her behalf, I hope she makes an official complaint about the vet, although I know it’s the last thing on her mind at the moment.

And so it begins, we’ve filled in all our forms, and the attorney tells us today that they’ll be filed ‘before October, because the fees go up’. Needless to say, we’ve asked why it’s going to take so long to file, as we don’t want any delays. We’ve already paid a considerable sum, and aren’t very happy if they’re going to drag their heels. Seems a firm but politely worded email has got the message home!

We’ve had a lazy day today, and are meeting Sue & Rob for a walk and lunch tomorrow, hopefully it’ll be dry.

Austina, I believe what my neighbor is thinking is that he will sell to me if he can recoup his costs. He is a wealthy Englishman with several homes in England and this French house is a « several weeks a year » vacation home. He has had it for ten years and it’s not on officially the market. When I told him I was looking for a house, he said he would sell it to me if I want it, but otherwise he will keep it. So, time will tell. My DD went back to look at it with me last night and we both like it a lot. Time will tell. I like him as a neighbor and although I would enjoy having the house, I would miss him.
I am shocked and saddened by your news of Elle. Devistating. Horrible.
I’m excited for you with this big life change coming!

Thank you Jimmianne. They are growing like weeds! I think B is probably taller than me by now and she has really matured. Went from baby chubby to a mature willowy young lady. Too fast. Too fast. And my youngest A she is a pure delight. Loving and kind and generous and mature beyond her years. I am so proud of both of them and I apologize for bragging but my heart is filled with joy thinking of the lovely young women they are becoming. I cannot wait to see them but my sister doesn't want to expose us because they are starting school in person this week twice a week. I miss my sister and my nieces very much but will have to be patient.

I am sorry about the current dilemma you are facing and wish we lived near your farm because I would be more than happy to help with your animals. I might be a city girl but I learn fast and I am tough. Just ask my podiatrist who was incredibly impressed with me yesterday. More on that below. Hugs and more hugs to you sweet @Jimmianne.

Hi to everyone else and hope all is going smoothly. We had a hectic day yesterday. But we did get to enjoy cycling and ice cream. Yummmm.

I had vanilla (my fave) and Greg had butter pecan.



We got to meet Jimmy's granddaughter and step granddaughter yesterday. They are delightful. Then we rushed back so I could make the podiatry appt. He is the best. He agreed to remove the nail without an injection to numb me up because that would make it a more involved and difficult process due to scar tissue from all the needles before. So he froze the toe as best he could and then ripped the offending part of the nail out. He was very impressed with me because I didn't flinch or cry or yell. It was a 10 on a scale of 1-10 in terms of how painful it was but the procedure itself including the painful freezing took only about 90 seconds so I could endure almost anything for 90 seconds. Listen, I am a tough girl from Brooklyn and one should never underestimate a Brooklyn girl if you kwim.


Today we are hoping to get cycling in between the rain drops and hoping for ice cream too. Wishing everyone a wonderful wonderful day and sending you lots of hugs.
