@mrs-b ugh I am sorry. One thing after another. I hope the dogs can somehow coexist peacefully. We have a similar issue. We got Gracie to engage with Oliver to stop him from "playing" (Tommy took it as attacking) with Tommy and it worked for a short while but now both Gracie and Oliver run after Tommy. Sigh. I am sorry you aren't feeling well and I am sending continuing healing dust your way. So pleased your biopsy was negative! That is cause for celebration as is your anniversary! Happy 36 years married dear lady. So nice your goddaughter is staying with you. I know she is lovely company and is a wonderful young lady. Enjoy sweet friend. XOXO.

Hi to everyone else. We cycled yesterday despite the fact Greg had an afternoon call so we just started earlier and came back earlier which worked out due to it getting pretty warm yesterday. But we couldn't do ice cream because we didn't have time. Today tho I hope we can. I did enjoy my store bought ice cream last night though haha no worries. I don't let a day go by without ice cream.

Tommy has started eating woohoo but it could just be the Cerenia and Mirtizapine so we are watching him closely. If he starts drooling again or stops eating we are bringing him into my sister's tomorrow. Fingers crossed he continues to feel better and eat. Thanks for all your good wishes for him. Much appreciated.

Happy FriYay!

I couldn’t find any links for unrefined petroleum jelly @missy, I think it was a prescription only product. Whilst I was Googling, I did find mention of colloidal oatmeal for eczema, I wonder if that would help? Thank goodness Tommy is eating again, let’s hope his appetite remains and he keeps eating after you stop the medication. I wonder if his lack of appetite is stress related from the 2 tearaways as Debbie couldn’t find anything medically related to his condition? My eye is a lovely shade of black today, thank you for asking Colin is so worried people will think he hit me, I’ve covered it with make up as best I can, so apart from popping out later this afternoon, we’ll be in all weekend so it should start to fade soon.

I don’t mind telling you that I’m 61 @mrs-b, so your friend is definitely not too old to start Invisalign. I’m so sorry to hear you’re having more health issues, and sending you good wishes for better health. Ugh to the dogs fighting, how frightening. Our dogs were always intact but we only ever had one at a time. My last boy, Harry, was constantly attacked by other dogs when we were out, and it was really scary. I hope you can find a solution to the situation. Great news that the biopsy was clear, and congratulations on your anniversary, wishing you both many more happy years together.

I’m so pleased to hear that Ellie is doing so well @springerspaniel, what a relief after everything she’s been through.

A good haircut can really lift your spirits @Jimmianne, I always feel so much better when I‘ve been for my cut and colour. Yay that Kine is having his stitches out today, I’m sure you’re so relieved that it’s all over with.

I forgot to tell you that the other day I was sitting in the orangery, when there was a Big Bang, and a bird had flown in to the bi-fold door. When I looked, it was a hawk and he had a pigeon in his grasp I called out to Colin, and he rushed outside and scared the hawk off, and fortunately the poor pigeon, although stunned, and minus several feathers, managed to fly off. We kept an eye on the hawk so it didn’t immediately go after it again. I know it’s nature, but I didn‘t want to see the poor pigeon ripped to pieces in front of me.

The orthodontist rang this morning, Invisalign have already sent all the scans back, so I’m going on Wednesday to approve everything, then the aligners will be made and I can start treatment. They can’t be very busy at the moment, because he wasn’t expecting them back for 2 weeks!

Nothing on the cards for us this weekend, more grass seeding I expect, other than that, we’ll just be eating and chilling

Tommy not eating isn’t stress related. It’s physical. And his drooling indicates nausea poor sweetie. I have a guess what it could be. Now not sure how to proceed because we’re still dealing with what we were dealing with for the spring and summer. So decision time. As long as he continues to eat and not be nauseous I am probably putting it all on hold and holding my breath too lol.


Yay to proceeding with Invisalign. It’s never too late to straighten those teeth. My bottom teeth are crooked but it doesn’t bother me. It’s hardly noticeable being on the bottom. And our plates are filled at our household lol. Forgot to say we got Greg’s 48 hour urine test back. And he has too much calcium in it so now he needs to be fully worked up for hyperparathyroid disease. Oy to the vey. He’s not worried. Of course. But I am. Enough for the both of us. Lol.

This is so funny that the topic of invisilign is coming up. I am thrilled for you @Austina Just a few days ago, I asked my hubby if he wanted to straighten his teeth. He said his teeth were perfectly straight until his wisdom teeth came in and that made them all crooked. And he said yes he wants to straighten his teeth. So, that will be a project to embark upon and find a really good dentist and see what his options are.
@missy I LOVE that dress on you - super cute and fun! Hoping Tommy gets better for sure, sending love and healing dust.

Things are good with me...ds is coming for a visit so I'm pretty excited about that. He's getting here tomorrow and will stay until next Thursday. Other than that, things are pretty much status quo.

@Jimmianne you definitely have summer and winter there then. Speaking of 6 we have a cold front coming from Canada (thanks for sharing @canuk-gal) on Monday that could result in about 6 inches of snow and 2 nights below freezing. Joy! Yay that Kine got his stitches our and nice to get a haircut.

@springerspaniel that is awesome Ellie is acting like her old self. Very nice.

@missy FriYay indeed! I was glad it finally arrived. Thank you - my new ring is so blingy my ACA ering is looking small. LOL. I have been having ice cream everyday too - I am trying to keep up with you and Greg. I am delighted to hear Tommy is eating - sending him mega dust. What a sweet looking deer. Oh no that Greg has too much calcium. The first question that popped in my head was would that contribute to his kidney stones? I have no idea though.

@Austina I bet your eye is looking bad; love all the nasty colors a bruise goes through too. Did you make up a good story about what happened? I am crossing my fingers I don’t have to work this weekend but it’s hard to say. Wow that had to be quite a crash; we’ve had small birds hit the window so I can’t imagine what it sounded like with an eagle. Glad Colin was able to rescue the pigeon. Like you said it is nature but that is precisely why I won’t watch nature shows I don’t like seeing nature in action. If an animal is in danger or worse in a movie I am hysterical; if it’s people I don’t get as worked up. That movie you recommended Driving in the Rain I got all teary eyed at the end which of course Marty noticed and teased me. The brat. That’s great you can start your braces soon. Marty was sore with his full braces at first (or when they tightened them) but other than that got used to them.

@bling_dream19 yay for having 3 days off. Thank you, I am loving my ring; it is very different than anything else I have and such a sparkle bomb. The color really changes depending on light too so that makes it more entertaining for me. The your DH good luck if he decides to get braces.

@junebug17 thank you about my ring. Your pretty oval halo was my inspiration to go with larger diamonds than diamond chips and I am glad I did. I am sure we all had those moments as children; makes us appreciate now what parents put up with. I chuckled thinking of me being a spoiled little kid having tantrums, I am so not like that now. Of course being the youngest of 3 I am sure my sisters would say I was always spoiled and got my way. I will join in with your wish to have a quiet weekend work wise. That’s great your DS is coming for a nice visit; that will be really fun.

Work wasn’t too bad today. We had an on air error that I am sure I haven’t heard the end of; sadly I jumped to the wrong conclusion when an employee she keeps getting an error message importing this one type of file. So I have all sorts of departments trouble shooting and then come to find out we missed importing 2 of their files. I wasn’t on the beginning of the call with the provider so instead of finding out the entire story first I started a fire drill for nothing. Then I am sure I ticked off my boss who hurried and put out a schedule starting Monday that had errors on it which I pointed out to him and he never did send a correction. Sigh. He is such a pouty child at times. I left a little bit before 3 anyway. I stopped by Marty’s doctor’s office to pay a co-pay that the early July check has not cleared yet; they closed at 12:30 today. Then I stopped at the bank but still got home a little after 4 pm. Let the long weekend begin.

Hello to everyone else. We had a delightful ride yesterday and I found my new favorite flavor. Pear fig. OMG that man knows how to make ice cream haha. It was superb and I hope he has that flavor for a long time. All his ice cream flavors are amazing though and all home made.

We had a lovely long (70 miles!) ride yesterday and enjoyed delicious ice cream. I had pear fig and strawberry yesterday and Greg had all pear fig. So good.

@missy the beautiful marvelous, magnificent Missy, so sorry to be so absent, my shoulder well actually my upper arm where they smashed the new shoulder into hurts.. ha! pain as you know I'm sure is the mark of progression! to what I am still not sure.. I come to PS to read NIRIDs then something catches my eye first and then it's in and out quickly because it's been busy here, and sad, but we can't change what is. Yes we picked the quartz friday, it was hard because I have dark grey floors, white cabs, grey subway tile, and light grey cabs so getting a complementary quartz was hard too dark, too light meh.. I am a granite old lady, but I didn't want granite in the bathrooms because ya know, i'm going for a more modern look in a way, so I got 2 inch quartz because it's sleek, i'd never do that in the kitchen there I have 3 inch granite, it's my statement piece haven't picked out pendants or a chandelier in the dining area, pool is still at a standstill.. oh gosh blah blah, sorry sweetie. ICE CREAM, so delish.. how are you feeling, I hope things slow down for me, we will have a meeting sometime this week with the appliance guy.. ugh. Going to a new lighting store on Tuesday, P/T wed and friday.. yay. haha. again. Sounds like the kids are having a good summer, chasing each other around, how is Tommy? misssssss you.

Things have settled in for Jordan's mom Tara, such a long, hard, painful journey for her now. my heart breaks for her.

The builder said we are 45 days out .. I say HAHAHA!

When I was getting my parents house ready to sell the realtor told me any money you invest to fix things up only helps it sell; you won’t get that money back.

We had a movie night for Marty’s gym clients last night. 4 of them showed up and it was fun. We watched Gross Pointe Blank and So I Married an Ax Murderer. I think we’ll try that once a month.

We had a total Omaha Steak dinner today - grilled steaks, baked scalloped potatoes and chocolate soufflé. Everyone was really good. I might brew up some popcorn here for supper.

We are still expecting snow accumulations Monday night through Tuesday. Noooooooooooooooo!!!!

I hope your shoulder starts feeling better. So far work has been quiet all weekend - poor Marty though has been working for almost 24 hours.

We had a movie night for Marty’s gym clients last night. 4 of them showed up and it was fun. We watched Gross Pointe Blank and So I Married an Ax Murderer. I think we’ll try that once a month.

We had a total Omaha Steak dinner today - grilled steaks, baked scalloped potatoes and chocolate soufflé. Everyone was really good. I might brew up some popcorn here for supper.

We are still expecting snow accumulations Monday night through Tuesday. Noooooooooooooooo!!!!

Forgot to say my endocrinologist emailed me yesterday saying he’ll see Greg the same day of my appointment! He’s wonderful. Emailed me on a Sunday of the long weekend just to let me know not to worry. He’ll take care of Greg. How many doctors are this thoughtful and considerate? And smart. I do appreciate him. Just wanted to share that happy info with you. Cause I am concerned about Greg’s health so hopefully Dr J can and will get to the bottom of it and help him.

I’ll let you know how I get on with the Invisalign, I’ve read (backed up by @Jimmianne ) that it’s achey while everything is moving, but I’m looking forward to getting it done. Going to approve the finished result (I think) on Wednesday, then the aligners will be made.

Wow @Bayek the house has really come on, 45 days, let’s hope it’s all ready then and you can finally move in, and more importantly, get settled! With everything else that’s going on, it’ll be great to finally be home. I really like all your choices, very much my taste, I like simple and modern. I have no idea when we’ll next be in Tx, there’s still an FCO no travel advisory, so even if BA were flying to Atown, we wouldn’t be insured with the non essential travel advisory.

We had a really busy day yesterday, we got a huge area of the lawn prepped and seeded, and came down today to find the pigeons had crept under the netting and were feasting like kings We had to rearrange all the netting, so hopefully the can’t get in or get caught under it.

Just been to Costco, didn’t buy anything exciting, it was more for an outing than out of necessity.

@Austina I have been wearing my new ring everyday. I pushed and shoved the sapphire around and it’s not loose so it should be fine. This place has to replace any stone that falls out of their settings so I’d be covered but I will keep any eye on it. Yes, that snow is on it’s way. Right now the wind and falling temperatures are telling us to get ready. Oh no to your black eye being purple; that later stage yellow is really nasty. Is it feeling okay? Darn those pigeons feasting like kings on your seed. My dad battled squirrels for years trying to keep them from eating his bird seed. I had to admire the tenacity at pursuing the obstacles to get in to my dad’s bird feeders.

So the snow storm is about 60 miles north of us now. The temperatures has been falling about 10 degrees an hour. Marty shut off our sprinklers and unscrewed the hose with our drip system. We’ll see what it looks like in the morning.

My sister, BIL, nephew and his wife were here today for website training on my sister’s doll clothes website. My sister will probably really struggle with it (she is not very computer literate) but I am sure my nephew and his wife can help her since they live close to each other. We all went out for lunch - my niece was so excited she hadn’t been in a restaurant since February. They don’t eat out too often in general other than take out sometimes. I’d made a batch of homemade cocoa brownies and made us brownie sundaes this afternoon. My nephew draws out the cads, builds and repairs Hu Hut restaurants so he brought his tools and tweaked our basement patio door. It has always been hard to open and close but only Marty can open it right now. Looks like something has shifted / settled but it works for now. Marty needs to order a weather striping for the bottom of the door since it got all ripped up forcing the door open and closed lately.

I did get a call from work a while ago but all I had to do was dial in and confirm the change matched what I already did on Friday. I tried to tell my boss on Friday he made that mistake but he grumbled, walked off and never changed it so we had to fix it today. It was for tomorrow so I planned on pointing it out in the morning but now it’s fixed.

Poor Marty has been working all weekend. He didn’t get a 3 days vacation at all.

David thinks it’s irritant dermatitis now vs eczema behind my knees. From cycling. But for all intents and purposes they’re the same. And I have a freeze burn on my toe from the cold air the podiatrist used to numb me when he removed the nail. Sigh. Nothing to do about that though. First time I got that.

Oh no to the freeze burn @missy. Did David say if there’s anything you can do/use on your eczema/dermatitis to make cycling more bearable? Your dangly earrings are really pretty, but the studs look great on you, especially as you wear your hair back.

Not much going on here, we had to wait in for the alarm people to come and fix the set up. They sent the boy who screwed it all up in the first place and he said it’d be an easy fix Still took him quite a while to get it sorted, but at least it’s all working now

I’m going to the Orthodontist tomorrow to approve the aligners, I hope they can hurry up and make them because I’m keen to get started.

Good afternoon! Hubby arrived safely in Pa.We‘re staying until Thursday...I sent Shatzie home with a ton of food...The man doesn’t cook like Greg!
I was holding my breath but the bugs have bugged out! I haven’t even seen one outside either..I’m so happy...I’m still sleeping in the guest attic bedroom..because I really like that it’s so dark and cozy up there. I put the overhead fan on and a table fan to drown out David and Bailey’s snoring....David’s door is closed..but without the table fan I can still hear him and Bailey...haha
My front garden here has gone wild! I planted zinnias about four or five years ago...They’re supposed to be annuals but with the water and wind the seeds blow all over and reseed. They grow out of the old bricks. I leave them because I like the whimsy...It’s the end of summer so the garden isn’t picture perfect but it’s hanging on...a bit straggly though..


@canuk-gal I hope you had a wonderful birthday! Did you do anything special?
@Austina I hope your eye is feeling better! My friend got two black eyes years back. She had purple just on the eyelids..The color was so pretty..We had a good laugh about it. That’s funny Colin was afraid someone would think he did it..haha I could buy out Costco if I went. Did you actually walk out without buying anything? Did they start selling jewelry again? I know they stopped for a while in the states.

Scott, Allie and the boys are in the Outer Banks on vacation this week. They rented a house on the beach..It has seven bedrooms with attached baths..Jackson is having a blast taking a bath in a different bathtub every night. I’m feeling bad about not being able to connect with him. I feel he’s losing the connection. Allie or Scott will try to get him to talk to me but he frowns and says he’s watching a video or trying to play...I always say it’s okay but it makes me sad. I feel like the bonding can’t happen over FaceTime. Hopefully we can catch up when Covid is manageable. I cried yesterday because one of their friends met them at the beach house. She got a covid test before going...Scott was also able to get one so they could let her come. The friend is diabetic so has to be extra cautious. Of course Jackson wasn’t tested so that’s a wild card..but Scott figures if Jackson had it he would too..I would take the chance if it wasn’t that I have to be cautious for David. Life stinks sometimes...

So what is up with Greg's calcium? from all my reading high Calcium can be caused by many things, so your doc should be able to help him find out what is going on.. I did read that doctors should not ignore slightly high calcium because that can be caused by parathyroid disease, Greg also has kidney stones, so they REALLY need to check his parathyroid... things are just okay? yup I get it, and we are all so so so etc sick of covid Missy, it's enough to just sit in my house and eat cookies and watch movies all day, wish I could but the rulz here are no TV till 6pm.... thank my MIL and FIL for that one. Ice cream looks delicious.. I MISS YOU. things are okay here, hotternhell though, give Greg a hug and tell him he's the best and the furbabies? big hugs from me too. xoxoxoxo

Outer Banks, we used to go every year when the boys were small, then we moved to Texas.. we always stayed in Duck, my bestie Kath's SIL owns to beach houses there and she was always SAYING we could use one but Kath hates her.... us and our friends and our 4 kids would rent and live the high life! and we didn't talk to the BEATCH.. good times back in the day.
