Now I really did it :((

GM girls! Happy terrific Tuesday!

@marcy oh no more snow. OMG you aren't kidding when you say winter doesn't leave Wyoming til July. LOL. Thanks for your good wishes and right back at ya. LOVE your beautiful rainbow photo. Gorgeous. Nice you get to see your sister and BIL and celebrate your nephew's graduation. Congratulations to your nephew. Sorry about the hardware store adventures. Or lack of. Glad the diamond lighting made it worthwhile though haha. Hope Marty gets what hardware stuff he needs soon. Lots of things are on backorder. Greg just got notification of a bike part shipping that he ordered back in January. Yay for ice cream. And by the way, I am not giving up my coconut based ice cream. Sorry I might have given you that impression. I mean as long as my cholesterol is good. And it is with an LDL of 68 and HDL of 88. I think I am good to enjoy. For now at least. :) Long live our enjoyment of delicious ice cream Marcy. XOXO

@canuk-gal woohoo to two days of glorious cycling. We are on a streak ourselves. Today will be day 9 of 9 straight cycling days in a row. Almost a record in the NE lol. Today is another good (I hope) cycling day. And yes, hold fast to your two day work week. You deserve a respite and to enjoy some lovely weather. Big hugs sweet Sharon. And yes nincompoop is a good way to describe people's actions who don't seem to care about others well being. She did reply to my text asking her to stay home and rest and to wear a mask if she goes out and I linked some scientific info for her. She replied and thanked me and it felt sincere so I feel happier now that perhaps she won't go out and about potentially infecting others. My motto is always this. Do as you please, as long as you don't (adversely) affect others with your actions. And I have never been one to remain quiet when I see bad behavior. At least with people I know and with whom I am friends. Have a sweet week sweet Sharon and sending you big hugs.

@Austina aww thanks. So far so good but time will tell. We always wear masks indoors (unless we are home that is) and outdoors we do not but we try to keep away from others. Except chatting with friends and usually we are at a safe distance. But I am second guessing how close we were when chatting with Yvonne. We see her every day and usually stop to chat and last week we were chatting for at least 15-20 minutes. Long enough to get infected. So fingers crossed we remain well. Anyway, hope the insurance issues stemming from the accident get sorted out and all is good. XOXO.

@bling_dream19 hope you are having a terrific Tuesday. Big hugs and bucketloads of healing vibes.

@mrs-b you are off to California soon and I know you are enjoying every single day with Tim before you go. Lots of love and healing vibes to you both.

@Slick1 the countdown begins. Woohoo. Where did the winter and spring go...moving fast. Have a great week. XOXO.

@MamaBee hope you had a great day with your mom yesterday and she remains safe and well. I am glad Shatzie's speech went well and that he wore a mask the entire time. As for that carpet price sheesh. I think the pandemic and shortage supplies are contributing to crazy prices. I know my mom just got a crazy high estimate for repairing her storm drains. Not good at all. Anyway one day at a time. Be well and enjoy. Big hugs.

@springerspaniel any plans for the upcoming Memorial Day long weekend? Hope work is going super smoothly and you are happy. Big hugs.

Hi everyone else. We had a great day cycling and then I had a zoom call last night. Went very well and over time as usual lol. Today is another cycling day after a short bout with rain this morning. I hope the rain ends early as it is predicted to...last week the rain ran over by a few hours and we ended up cycling in the drizzle since we couldn't wait for it to end. Hoping today we get to go and remain dry lol.

Enjoy a terrific Tuesday all! XOXO.

Good morning..
I would appreciate dust, prayers, etc...My five year old grandson has Covid. My son took him to our house in Maryland to isolate for a few days from my DIL and other grandson. I’m really concerned for my son because he’s older. Children generally have milder cases. My grandson was vaccinated TG. They will all keep testing.

You know I’ve been sending bucketloads of healing vibes to your sweet grandson and family ❤️ And hugs to you Joanne

You know I’ve been sending bucketloads of healing vibes to your sweet grandson and family ❤️ And hugs to you Joanne

Thank you Missy..In addition to the stress of worrying about all of them..I had to explain this all to David and the possibility of not going to the Outer Banks. He’s like a little child…I told him they may go there to isolate. We will go somewhere else If they do..If they don’t go then just the three of us will go and stay in that huge house by ourselves..I just hope they all get through this okay.

Hi NIRDI's!

@missy that's good you aren't giving up your coconut milk ice cream. I agree as long as your cholesterol numbers are good why give up something you love? I enjoy my ice cream, too but I try to not eat much at a time. I hope your bike part comes in soon since you and Greg are back on the road. Yay for summer - it's be here in Wyoming sometime. Ha Ha.

@MamaBee mega dust going to your grandson and family.

I got my crown restored today on the tooth that had the root canal. My mouth is kind of achy but I bet by tomorrow I'll feel like a new person. Yay. I am living on the edge and going to eat a burger and baked potato for supper.

I worked about 4 hours today - on fun stuff. We might get rain this afternoon. I hope so.

Off to knit.
Marcy

@springerspaniel - I'm thinking of your pitch on Thursday and hope it goes well. And your project proposal sounds fascinating! I did my master's thesis in Dispute Resolution (which is actually a law degree, rather than a psych degree) on how the crisis negotiation format could be manipulated and changed in the field by non-psych professionals on the basis of suspected psychiatric illness or personality disorder. I worked through all the most common illnesses and disorders and said how each would effect the crisis negotiation process and how the process could be tweaked on the spot. Suffice to say - it was long! But it focussed a lot on language and tailoring it to the principal players. If your project goes ahead, do let me know - I love that kind of thing, especially as a writer.

@junebug17 - thank you for your kind get well wishes. It's very tough at the moment, but I'm hanging in. Currently following up on seeing various specialists and have been communicating with our insurance company to get my surgery approved. How was your get-together with your friends? I hope you had fun. :)) Have a wonderful time in SC - is it warm enough to go swimming there yet? Very jealous here!

@MamaBee - firstly - sending all sorts of warm thoughts for your grandson. Your son and DIL are so lucky he and your grandson have the option of going to MD to isolate. Will that impact your house renovations at all? And what is next on your house jobs list? Do you have a rough timeframe to get it on the market? I hope it's fast and smooth for you. And where are things up to with Winter? If I end up going out next week, I'll be dropping Beloved off to Amy, so W and B will be 'in the shop' together! I posted a photo of the new diamonds either side of Beloved on that thread, if you're interested. The new sides arrived today and I'm very happy with the proportions. I just *know* your new setting is going to be killer!!

@marcy - please tell me all the snow is gone. I mean - seriously - PLEASE TELL ME!! How much warm weather do you get over the summer? Were you serious when you said your warm weather only starts in July?? No wonder you work so much! Did you get your crown restored today? How is it feeling? I have a crown on my bottom back tooth and I've started to get a deep toothache in it, so I'm guessing I have a root canal coming up. <sigh> I hope your teeth behave from now on! And - if you feel so inclined - more afghan photos would be more than welcome! I'm finding your knitting incredibly inspiring! What sort of wool are you using? I love the color, too!

@canuk-gal - I'm so glad you've been out and about cycling! How is your new bike? Do you like it as much as your last one? How often do you cycle? I'm not currently able to do much of anything, so I envy you and Missy a great deal. And yes - two days! Hold fast! :)) Also - I just wanted to say - time passes and topics of conversation shift. But I'm still thinking of you re the loss of your precious mother. Missing can pop up when you least expect it, too, so it never really completely goes, and her passing is still very recent. Anyway, just wanted you to know that I'm still thinking of you and am sending you hugs! oxo

Tim is calling me to watch some TV with him and I don't want my computer to eat this post while I'm not here (or even when I *am* here!). So I'm going to hit enter for now, and will come back later and do the other half!

GM girls. Happy Wonderful Wednesday! Just a quick post and run.

@MamaBee how's your grandson doing?

@marcy I am glad you got your crown restored. Hope the tooth feels OK today and you are not in any discomfort. I wish we were talking about a crown for your head but maybe one day...:)

@bling_dream19 sending you so many well wishes and hugs.

@Slick1 mid week almost at the holiday weekend. Hope your week is going well.

@mrs-b soon you will be able to partake in cycling and other activities. Hoping you get your surgery scheduled soon.

@springerspaniel good luck tomorrow. I hope it goes very well.

Hi everyone else. We had another great cycling day. I have a mid morning telemedicine appointment and am going to do it on the bike. I am a bit nervous because I cannot control certain things. Wind, noise around us etc. But we are going to try to find a quiet spot and I am hoping it goes smoothly. I just don't want to lose a day on the bike when the weather is nice. Albeit windy. I hope everyone enjoys a wonderfully sweet Wednesday. XOXO

Hi NIRDI's!

@mrs-b yes the snow is gone for now but I'm not willing to bet a dollar we won't see more of it. It's near 60 today but the wind feels like it is blowing off a glacier. I am glad you are hanging in there and hope insurance approves your surgery. Just yesterday when they restored my gold crown the dentist said he couldn't use gold to repair it because my insurance won't approve it. I hope you don't need a root canal in your tooth but it sounds like it. The molar they pulled has bugged me for years. Overall my mouth feels so much better but the missing molar is middle lower left so it freaks me out a bit to chew there. The tooth that is broken and has a temp crown is right above it so that is kind of strange. I'll get everything resolved at some point. I do enjoy knitting and will get a new picture soon. I am almost done with skein #3. Big hugs to you and Tim.

@missy thank you - my mouth feels good today. LOL to getting a crown for my head. I wouldn't wear it but one of my teddy bears would probably wear it for me. I hope your telemedicine call worked well out in the "wild". Definitely why give up cycling time? Mmm ice cream.

I got up early today and haven't eaten much yet - I'm hungry. I am meeting a friend for an early supper so I am saving room for pizza.

I got some of my tops from Kohl's and ordered one I already bought a few weeks ago. Oops. Guess I will run it to the store and swap for something else.

I did some busy work for work today.

Take care.
Marcy

@missy - I laughed and laughed when you shared you'd be doing your med appt while cycling! I do understand that you'll pull over and stop, but I just had the most awesome image of you and Greg peddling along, the wind blowing through your hair, helmet and goggles on, discussing your symptoms with your dr! How awesome is that?!! Hasn't the weather this week been delicious! It's been gorgeous here in MA, and all the trees are finally out. When we moved here from NY, our experience was that spring cuts in 2 weeks later and winter starts 2 weeks earlier. That extra month of temperate weather New Yorkers have makes all the difference! I SO wish we were back in NY! Never say never, tho, and stranger things have happened. So - did your mom like her plant? Did she love the color? I'm sure she did; it was spectacular! Re your health updates - your cholesterol numbers are A-MAZ-ING! Mine are...ok...but yours are pretty much perfection!! How do you get your HDL so high?? Mine was 72 last time they were taken - but -88??! WOW! As for my LDL, I'm thrilled if it's under 100. It normally is, but I'd love to get it under 70 like yours. Seriously, girl - if longevity depends on hearts, you'll live forever! I do hope all of Greg's results come back clear and encouraging; hearts really aren't negotiable. And I'm SO glad you seem to have dodged the Covid bullet after your interaction with your friend. Some people these days are living as if it's all done and dusted. And yet, figures are WAY up in California, for example. I believe they're up all over the north east as well. And as for HAVING covid and still chatting while not wearing a mask....are people nuts?? I just don't get it. Anyway, I hope we all manage to avoid this horrible virus. Sending you big hugs and lots of warm thoughts each day. oxo

Today I saw a rheumatologist and we discussed how bowel disease can affect the spine. Apparently it normally sets into the sacro-ileac joint - which is one spot where I have a lot of pain and degeneration. Consequently, they're talking about doubling my Humira and I received a voice mail from my gastro's office today telling me that had been approved. And then, later today, I received a letter from my insurer, telling me it had been denied. I have no idea what's going on, but I guess we'll find out. Either way, if bowel disease has such a negative effect on the sacro-ileac joint, it sure would have been nice if my gastro had looked into that any one of those numerous times I told her, completely baffled, that every time my gut was bad, my back seemed to be bad, too! I seriously wonder if these people even care about their patients. Apparently this is very common knowledge - and a usual side effect of Crohn's disease. Maybe if we'd addressed this earlier my back wouldn't be where it is now - wouldn't THAT have been nice! Suffice to say, I'm pretty pissed at the moment.

My blood tests were for inflammation markers to see what's going on re that, so it will be interesting to find out. *sigh*

@bling_dream19 - I have SO enjoyed our phone chats recently! Few people are on the same page as me when it comes to bling, but I do feel as tho you and I are right *there* when it comes to bling! Yay us! Your new piece is delicious like tropical fruit in summer - all that pink and yellow! - and I hope when Beloved is reset I can contribute to the party! My diamonds are going off to Amy today, so we'll be off and running shortly! Hugs to you, my friend! <3

@Austina - how are you feeling post accident? I plowed into a telegraph pole once and it took some considerable time to get beyond it. I had just come around a corner on a main rd - double lanes both ways - to find a taxi stopped directly across both my lanes, trying to find a break in traffic heading the other way. I was heading straight for him, but could see her had passengers in the passenger seat in the front and in the back, who would probably have been killed had I hit them. On the other side of the road the traffic was heavy (which was no doubt why the taxi had stopped where he was - trying to nose out into any break he could find) - so I couldn't veer that direction. My only other choice was to go *behind* the taxi and hit a telegraph pole - which I did. Wrote off the car and tore all the ligaments in my shoulders, gave my a 'steering wheel tattoo' on my tummy and did some pretty serious bruising to my knees and my ankles. For some months, I'd be sitting somewhere doing something totally unrelated - and suddenly the telegraph pole would appear before my eyes and I'd have a huge wash of anxiety. It was horrible. I hope you're not having anything like that and that you were left with no aches and pains; often after something like that you *think* you're fine - only to have bumps, bruises, aches and soreness develop for days and days afterwards. I really hope you're feeling ok and that you get your care back - fully repaired - soon.

Do you have a move in date for your house? And, if you were willing, I'd love to see some photos of where your landscaping is up to! Gardens are my thing. :))

******************************************************************

As for me, I'm chasing my surgery again but am trying to narrow down the problem before I have the procedure. The rheumatologist today went over my MRIs with me, and it's apparent that it could be either L4/L5 OR L5/SI that's causing the problem. It could also be the sacro-ileac joint that needs to be fused. Or two of them. Or all of them. So I'll be having spine injections into each joint to see which injection gives me relief, and that should indicate specifically where the pain is coming from. I wish I could do this immediately as I want to go back to CA, and really can't until I have this stuff locked down. I missed my vacation in Hawaii because of it, and I just want to bite the bullet and get it done at this point. I've been calling my insurance co. and it seems that their declining of my procedure can be reversed with intervention by my dr. So hopefully that will work. We'll see.

Eleanor received her end of academic year grades the other day. She did 9 subjects this year and got 7 A's, 1 B and 1 C. Her degree is in art, and she got an A in all 7 art subjects, a B in Philosophy....and a C in Math. That made all of us laugh - she is a true artist and NOT a mathematician!

I hope you are all doing well and enjoying spring. Except for you, @marcy, since you seem to be locked in an eternal winter!! Sending you, in particular, visions of sunny days and temps on the thermostat over 60!

NIRDI love to you all!

Hello lovelies

Just another quick flyby as life is very hectic here pre-closing.

FWIW @MamaBee , we know of some young friends (late 30’s) whose young children (and babies) have got Covid, but they’ve all been fine as it didn’t seem to affect the children and babies too much. Their parents got over it too, so I hope you feel slightly reassured that your family will be OK. Sending healing thoughts your way.

Glad to hear you’ve at last got some good medical news @missy, and wishing the same for Greg.

Ugh @mrs-b poor you, it sound torturous to not only be dealing with the pain, but having to battle the insurance company too. We’ve been waiting for the site plan for the landscaper to do a final proposal, so nothing to show you yet.

Sending good wishes your way @springerspaniel for tomorrow, I’m sure you’ll do really well, and they’ll be impressed with your proposal. Sounds fascinating stuff, which ATM, is way above my ability to assimilate.

Glad your mouth is feeling better @marcy, and you must’ve really liked that top to order it twice!

I saw your ring on IG @bling_dream19, it looks fabulous, you must be so pleased with it.

Glad you’ve managed to get out and about @canuk-gal, I hope the weather stays fine enough for you to enjoy more cycling.

As for me, I hadn’t realised how much the accident has shaken me up. In the moments before the truck hit us, I literally saw our lives flash before my eyes, and wondered if this was how it all ended. We had our final walk through yesterday, and there were still some outstanding issues, nothing that’s going to delay closing next Tuesday, but will probably have to be rectified post closing. We then had to take the car in to be assessed, and the bad news is that there’s a long wait for parts, oh joy, so no idea when it’ll get fixed, but at least we’ve got new tyres.

We had to go to the bank today to get the money transferred in to the escrow account as Monday is a holiday, so Colin wanted to make sure the money was all set for Tuesday. Been waiting nervously to hear it arrived safely, which is has now.

Been busy trying to sort out everything else, getting the utilities set up, ordering the internet (only 1 provider available to us), ordered our adjustable bed, and a couple of TV’s, and generally getting organised for next week. We’ve got another walk through next Tuesday morning, then from there, go to the closing. So busy, buys, busy.

Stay safe and well lovely NIRDIs :wavey:

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!

I managed to stick to my two day work week....again worked short and I not agree to do more shifts. I did talk to a wonderful patient who told me he loved his cat "so much". I almost had tears it was so sweet. I adore the patients, so a benefit to my job.

We cycled today in 20C weather. Lovely!!! I picked up a couple of new sports shirts to cycle in....one half price in the kids section!! LOL.

@Austina I can understand your PTS after having an accident. Take care and hope your move /transition goes smoothly.

@missy hope you guys are on a roll (bike wheels LOL).

@mrs-b your "new" ring sounds wonderful! I am sorry your back continues to cause you grief.

@marcy please tell me your snow is gone for the season.

@MamaBee enjoy your holiday. You deserve it!!

cheers--Sharon

Hi NIRDI’s!

@mrs-b I don’t see any now around town now - I’m not willing to say we won’t see anymore. I appreciate you sending me visions of spring weather. I’ll take it. That is something how bowel disease can impact the spine. It does kind of make sense. I hope they do approve your medicine and that it helps you feel way better for both of those pesky things picking on you. Injections don’t sound fun but if it helps identify where the problem is in your back, that would be worth it to know where you need repaired for surgery.

@Austina I bet you are still shaken up from your accident. I can see why. It sounds awful and happened so fast. I am not surprised there will be a wait to get parts to fix your car. I hope the wait is not too bad. Nice to be getting everything arranged by Tuesday and it all goes smoothly including all the things they still need to fix.

@canuk-gal awe big hugs to you and your patient. Good for you sticking to working 2 days. Glad the weather was nice for a ride. As I told @mrs-b our snow is gone but I won’t be anyone I won’t see more.

I worked about 4 1/2 hours today, lifted and ran some errands. I swapped my duplicate shirt at Kohl’s and since I had $17.86 in Kohl’s cash and rewards I bought a Memorial Day wreath with that - knowing my mom would be proud because I can hear her say “don’t spend that much money for me on a decoration for the cemetery”. I ran it to the cemetery but they had a big sign up any decorations placed before noon Friday will get thrown out when they mow tomorrow. I’ll go back tomorrow afternoon.

I did start skein 4 on my afghan.

Take care.
Marcy

GM girls! Happy FriYAY!

@mrs-b aww thanks. You are the sweetest. And haha yes we pulled over. The physician thought it was very cool but it helps that he was an avid cyclist. He is now almost 80 so doesn't cycle much. Plus he lives in Colorado and they have been getting their fair share of snow lately...@marcy you're not the only ones lol. I am so so sorry for all you are still going through and I hope you can feel my healing wishes through the miles. I pray you get relief very soon. Yay Eleanor! You go girl! @mrs-b when do you get your blood work back? Big hugs.

@marcy I am glad you got to work a few hours yesterday and got to switch out the duplicate shirt at Kohls. And how nice you got a wreath for your mom and hopefully today you can put it where you want to. And yay for no snow. Finally. May it stay that way too. Good for you for lifting. I "lifted' yesterday too. Oh @mrs-b to answer your cholesterol question...I eat fish so that is probably why my HDL is so good plus work out every single day on the treadmill and lift weights every other day. And cycle lots. So that probably all plays a part. And I do think starting HRT had something to do with it too. My HDL was always high but my LDL went lower when I started HRT December 2020. SO for me at least hormones play a role. @marcy sorry for the mini thread jack...have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and stay well. XOXO

@bling_dream19 yay for FriYAY and a holday weekend. Enjoy a wonderful time. XOXO

@Slick1 happy holiday weekend. You deserve it. My heart goes out to you and all teachers and students alike. Scary times. Big hugs.

@canuk-gal we have been cycling our hearts out. 12 days now in a row. That is rare for the NE. And we are hoping to get some cycling in today too despite rain arriving this afternoon. Hope you enjoy cycling too today and woohoo for sticking to your 2 day work week! I am proud of you. Enjoy a wonderful weekend and hope we are both on a roll...hahaha. ((((Hugs))))

@Austina omg so excited for you. All your hard work coming to fruition. Very very soon. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that it goes super smoothly and no matter what needs to be fixed it will get fixed. Main thing is you are going to be in your new home very soon. Big hugs and lots of good wishes to you and Colin. And again, I am sorry about the accident and now the parts taking a long time to get here. But TG you are all OK. Hugs and enjoy this Memorial Day weekend. I think it's the first one you are celebrating in this country.

@MamaBee so relieved your grandson is doing well and I hope you enjoy this vacation with David and Shatzie. You deserve it. Big hugs sweet friend. Have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend. XOXO

Hi everyone else. We have been cycling lots and very busy but all good. Not sure of tomorrow as rain is in the forecast as it is later today. But we are heading out cycling today and it's been a good streak. 12 days in a row and counting. The call with the specialist went well and he feels I can hold off on the daily injections of the bone med as long as I am on HRT and we shall monitor and see how it goes. I am unsure as there is no yes or no right or wrong answer here. We need a crystal ball which obviously we don't have. There is no clear cut answer. Either way I take on some risk. Treating or not treating both carry potential ramifications. One day at a time as it is all I can do.

It makes it harder the insurance company approved this med that costs thousands per month and now I have decided not to take it. When I decide to take it we probably won't be able to get it approved again due to switching insurance companies by that time (Greg will be retired) and also rules changing. So that was another consideration but I couldn't let money decide this for me. I have to do what I feel is best right now. Even if it will cost me money in the long run. OK enough of that lol.

Enjoy a wonderful FriYAY all. Big hugs and lots of love.

For @mrs-b and everyone else who LOVES ice cream.

These are some of their vegan flavors. YUmmmmmm :lickout:

Oh lord. Oh Lordy Lordy Lordy! I want to eat ice cream FOREVER!! Those flavors look delicious!! David is vegan - I'd love to take him there!

@MamaBee - did you get your antibody test results? I had mine taken 2 days ago and I'm positive for antibodies. It's not a highly specific result - just says I am >150, which seems awesome to me! I wish it was more specific, tho.

As soon as this da*n pandemic is over you and David and Tim are all invited to get ice cream with us! ♥️

Lab Corp has a more specific antibody test FYI. And you can order it through lab Corp yourself I believe. That’s what we did. Gives you an exact number.

@mrs-b Yes I did get my antibody test back. My numbers are high. I also got mine done at LabCorp. They give you an exact number. You may have to pay for it since you just had it done but it was worth it to me. You set up a portal and you pay $6 for the physician they use to order the test. You don’t have to have your doctor order it. It’s all done online. I never did find out how much it is to pay. I got two different answers. It will be between $45-$125. Just make sure you get the Semi-quantitative Total Spike antibody test. That will tell you the antibodies generated by your vaccine. That’s the most important one. The others tell you if you ever had Covid.

HI:

NIRDI shout out!!!!

I'm down bc I've had two bouts of bad news this week. When it rains it pours.

I did go and buy some nice flowers for the deck. I still want some red geraniums so might make another trip.

Have a good long weekend NIRDI's!

Sharon

Happy Caturday Saturday girls! And happy Memorial Day weekend for those who celebrate.
It's a rainy day here but very peaceful.

@MamaBee safe travels today..I am sending Shatzie safe driving vibes. Have a wonderful time especially David. And I hope your grandson is continuing to do well.

@canuk-gal I am so sorry you are dealing with more bad news. Gentle hugs. Hope things start looking up soon.

@bling_dream19 enjoy a happy holiday weekend.

@Slick1 I hope you have a peaceful weekend filled with the love of family. I know the stress you are under must be tremendous with all that is happening in this country. Sending you hugs and peaceful vibes. I hear you on retirement.

Hi everyone else. We had a great streak of cycling days but looks like that is over. Oh well. It was fun while it lasted and there will be more cycling days ahead. We had fun with M and J yesterday lol and in conjunction with ice cream and cycling it was a purrrrrfect day. Love you all. Enjoy and be well.

Look how gorgeous they are. I am in love. Especially with M. He is a big beautiful baby. The SWEETEST. I am not kidding. He is so sweet. OMG. I just love him so much.

Look at that precious face. :kiss2:

And J is very sweet too. But she is a little more frenetic whereas M is just a soft bull of lovable mush.

Oops almost forgot...sweetness all around yesterday. Greg had pistachio and it was so good. @mrs-b I think you will enjoy this photo so I am adding it here. Look at those pistachios. OMG.

Sweet Saturday to my girlfriends here! XOXO.

HI:

We just saw Top Gun at the New VIP theater. Fabu movie with delish food and giant margaritas! Seat service! Heated giant reclining seats. Limited number of seats. Could of had a bottle of my favorite Burrowing Owl, or Stags Leap if I wanted. LOL. I needed that.

cheers--Sharon

GM girls and happy Sunday!

@canuk-gal glad you enjoyed the movie. I didn't realize there was a remake of Top Gun. Wow it seems like we saw the original yesterday lol.

@MamaBee hope Shatzie drove well yesterday and you are enjoying the Outer Banks. And I hope your grandson is recovering nicely and no one else catches Covid.

@springerspaniel hope you are enjoying a fun and peaceful holiday weekend knowing you are in a good place career wise. Hugs to your furry babies.

Hi everyone else. We are planning on cycling today and hope the weather cooperates. I hope everyone is enjoying a terrific holiday weekend.

Leaving you with a photo of my incredibly bright niece. Both nieces are amazingly smart and I am being objective I promise. My youngest niece won many awards and while I wasn't able to attend the ceremony my sister shared photos with me.
She won awards in:
Algebra
Biology
Social studies
English
Spanish
Band
Home and career
Phys Ed
Honor roll/ principal’s list
:)

She also grew five inches this past year. :-o
Now both nieces are taller than me as I am only 5' 5 1/2"

Have a wonderful and safe Sunday girls. XOXO.

Hi NIRDI’s!

@missy all those ice cream flavors look fabulous! We just had some ice cream for dessert. Yes if your physician lives in Colorado they are getting snow too. Nice you were able to cycle so many days in a row. Woo hoo! Darn the cycle was broken. Those pups are adorable. That is a tough decision on the bone medicine - yes it’d be nice if we all had crystal balls. Glad the doctor agrees it is okay to hold off on starting it now. Congratulations to your beautiful niece receiving all those awards.

@mrs-b I do notice vegan ice cream most places we go but locally that’s Baskin Robbins and Cold Stone.

@MamaBee hope you are doing well. Safe travels.

@canuk-gal I hate to hear you had bad news this week - big hugs coming your way. I was able to get some red and deep pink geraniums. We planted yesterday. Glad to hear Maverick is good. Our local theater has an adult theater now with drinks too; we need to go try that.

I worked a lot on Friday. Saturday we got up way too early and decided to go eat breakfast first thing and then go get flowers for our flower pots. We got everything planted and the drip system up and running. Naturally a severe thunderstorm rolled through today with hail possible. So far it’s just been rain. This year I didn’t get any tiny little flowers - while they are pretty they are a pain to deadhead.

After we got everything done in the yard I took a shower and we got ready to go to a graduation party. We were there several hours and ate enough food at the party we didn’t need to go eat lunch/supper anymore.

Last night we watched movies and had some popcorn.

This morning I woke up way too early again and had laundry and grocery shopping done before 10. I’ve been knitting and watching TV since. We just had a late lunch and I have no plans the rest of the day. I already have 2 articles to work on tomorrow.

I ordered some 1/2 carat hearts mounted in platinum stud earrings from James Allen. I am pretty excited to see how the turn out. JA was the only place I really found that listed hearts by pairs. Some were not very close in size plus I was looking for certain specs and finally narrowed it down to this pair. I kind of wanted ones with fluorescence but these looked like the best bang for my bucks and I didn’t want to spend a fortune on them. I wear my diamond heart RHR quite a bit so thought I’d enjoy some matching heart studs.

Take care.
Marcy

What was supposed to be a routine 5 year skin cancer treatment with fluorouracil for 21 days, on day 6 turned into a bizarre side effect nightmare. As you can see fluid built up in my brow which filled up like a water balloon and drooped down over my eyes. I just finished a two week treatment with prednisone to treat the side effect. Prednisone is great in that it completely masked my arthritis and sciatic misery, but left me angry, and aggressive and generally less agreeable than baseline, which was already, um, well, um, borderline. I think it was the application of a poultice of platinum bullion, and spinels that finally brought me back to my senses.

GM and happy Memorial Day Monday!

"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them" JFK

@marcy yay for ice cream yesterday and oh no to snow. But also to thunderstorms.. We just spoke with the physician last week and I thought the snow had stopped. OMG. OF course I might switch for your weather as we are going to be hot today I think. Yesterday the ocean breeze kept things cooler than predicted (70s) and I was happy about that. Glad you enjoyed the graduation party and got a lot accomplished this past weekend. OMG cannot wait to see your platinum hearts. I am living vicariously through you girls and your bling and looking forward to seeing everyone's blinglicious new pieces. @mrs-b @bling_dream19 @Slickk (did you change your screen name?). Beautiful flower photo. Have a good Monday XOXO

@Slickk happy Monday and happy day off! Hugs.

@bling_dream19 hope you are enjoying a lovely holiday weekend. Hugs.

@MamaBee hope you and the family are doing well and enjoying your time away and your grandson is all better. And your son didn't catch it. Hugs.

@canuk-gal hope you had a lovely weekend. XOXO

Aww @VapidLapid I am so sorry. I hope you are doing much better now. Sending you healing vibes and gentle hugs. If you have the energy please catch us up on what is going on...I haven't seen you for a while and hope (besides this) all is going well.

Hi everyone else. We went cycling yesterday and it was breezy and comfortable. We have a warmer (hot) day predicted today but I am hoping hard for an East wind. We shall see. I hope everyone enjoys a lovely Monday. Leaving you with our sunrise this morning. I took it from the bedroom terrace. Enjoy. XOXO

Wishing you a very Happy Birthday @marcy!! I hope you have a wonderful day.

Oh no @VapidLapid, sorry you had to experience that and I hope you're doing much better now.

Thinking of you @Austina, this is a big week for you. I'm sorry about the accident but glad you and Colin are ok.

@MamaBee, I hope your grandson is doing well and everyone is healthy...and I hope you're having a relaxing time on your getaway.

Congratulations to your niece @missy, what an amazing accomplishment. She has grown into such a talented and lovely young woman.

@canuk-gal, sorry you've had some bad news recently. I'm glad you've cut down on your days, it's important that we take care of ourselves.

@mrs-b, hope you and Tim are feeling ok, and I hope things are going smoothly for him with the new job.

@springerspaniel, I'm hoping the new job is going well. I'm glad you're in a place where you don't have to be worried about being criticized and put down.

Things have been a little crazy...dh came down with covid. Long story but I wasn't exposed, he was on a business trip and then went to our place in South Carolina and I was still in NJ. Ds and his girlfriend were in SC though and were exposed, but luckily they are negative. I'm in SC now, got here yesterday. Dh is doing great. He had a fairly mild case thank goodness.

Sending good thoughts to all, I hope everyone has a good week!
