I think either Saturday or Sunday is preferable for me, but my flights are still TBC!
 
If I go it will definitely be a Sat or Sun.
 
I had wanted to go too, but it conflicts with other travel I've got on my calendar unfortunately.

I would LOVE to go the next year though. Experiencing JAWS is on my bucket list!
 
I am planning to go Sunday but who knows with kids soccer schedules... Ug.
 
I’d have love to have gone too, but have other travel plans.

Hopefully next year, I’d really love to be surrounded by all that gorgeousness.

Hi everyone! I just got my NY JAWS ticket and am looking forward to the event! I’m in the market for a 2ct+ diamond but have never been to a large jewelry show before so I feel like I’m going to get overwhelmed by all the options. Any tips for first-timers?

I definitely want to check out Jewels by Grace - if there are certain pieces on her site that I am interested in, should I reach out to confirm that they will be at the show or do vendors typically bring all of their inventory? Any other vendor booths I should make sure to stop by?

How exciting...Reach out to Grace and tell her what you are looking for so she can bring diamonds for you. They don't bring their entire inventory but generally are happy to accommodate requests.

Hi @ringupthebling-excited for you! Jewel by Grace was my fave at the show. Do you know what parameters (color/clarity) you are looking for in a 2+ carat? OEC or OMC? How much time are you allotting yourself?

You should make an appointment with Adam of Old World Diamonds. He won't be at the show but I'd try to book one. Very large inventory.

Israel Rose has a big inventory and they are in NYC. Probably not going to show.

I think these are good ideas. TBH I've been watching Grace's prices and they have gotten quite high compared to these 2 vendors and her inventory doesn't seem to be moving as fast as a result. I'm not sure how much of a deal hound you are, but to me, that mattered a lot so I went with Adam.

I also found Grace extremely unresponsive and difficult to get in touch with, never replying to emails, texts, or website chat or it taking a lot of prodding...despite being a previous customer. If I'm paying a premium I'd expect better, more high-touch service. She does have a great eye and some beautiful stones so hopefully you have better luck.

Either way the show will be a fabulous and fun experience, and you may just find your dream stone!
 
Thank you so much @missy @lulu_ma @elizat and @Cerulean for all your advice and insights!! I’m a huge deal hound and don’t like rushing into large purchases so I’m giving myself as much time as I need but I would be absolutely overjoyed if I found my dream stone at JAWS! :kiss2:

@lulu_ma I was initially looking at round brilliants but couldn't get myself to like the dark arrows so now I am looking for an OEC. I've also seen some transitionals online that intrigued me (my favorite stone on Grace's site currently is a 2.46ct transitional ring) but have never seen any in person so I was hoping to compare some at JAWS. My ideal specs are 8.4mm+ diameter, I-K color, VS clarity, and small-slightly large cutlet, with size/spread, cut, and cost being the most important factors.

@Cerulean Thanks for the heads up regarding Grace! I reached out to her on Insta about some rings and loose stones so fingers crossed she responds. I do agree that her prices can be on the high side - my favorite ring she has is a bit over my budget so I'm hoping she'll have something that isn't on the site yet. I haven't had much luck with finding a stone within my desired specs on OWD's site but perhaps I need to make an appointment.
