I'll bet the woman in the photo is not happy that the NYTimes published such a detailed photo of the hairs on her lower back.
But yes, hairy back aside, it was an interesting article.

I am someone who is trying to find something not strapless and lowcut... its very hard to do and still keep it nice looking. When you do find something nice it ends up being crazy expensive. I love one of the Pnina Tornai dresses but I just can''t spend that much.

It''s an interesting article, yes, but again it''s mostly generalization...

"Who cares about that part anymore?" I do.
"Women are looking at their weddings more like a movie premiere" and "brides are more focused on the after-party"... I don''t know who they''ve been talking to, but the brides I know (and myself) are actually more focused on the marriage. Remember, that reason why we''re actually having a wedding?

Ugh. It goes to show how some people (not all, I agree, but some) have very little consideration for the actual marriage part.

Hi Legacy Girl,

LOL...I had the same requirements! The dress I finally found and ended up ordering this week actually has straps, and once I get the straps shortened after I get it, it will actually have full coverage up top...I think it''s going to work out beautifully! (Says with her fingers crossed!

) So...it CAN be done...AND if you go through Pearl''s Place, it can be done very reasonably!!! Hooray!

I guess I should actually respond to the article, too!

I also found the article very interesting...I agree that it''s nice to show off a rockin'' body, but I don''t EVER want to look back and think that I looked inappropriate or, dare I say it, slutty?

I about died laughing reading that the gal at the end''s dress looked like it had been carved by a lathe! That was just too much!

If anything, it really reaffirms that I think I made the right choice with my dress...straps, coverage, nothing popping out that shouldn''t be (I HOPE!!!) and just an all around timeless, classy look.

Thanks for sharing, baby monster!

Haha..at least it''s peach fuzz and not thick black hairs, right?

Yes thank goodness for her. I saw the actual newspaper in my doctor''s office yesterday, and it was not noticeable at all. Phew!

LOL. The resolution must be much lower on paper.

Did anybody else think that the comment about brides not being into "virginal style of dresses" was very crass? Not everyone wants to show off their tatas even if "they are spectacular!" (channeling Seinfeld here)

It''s a weird thing to say. It''s not because a bride doesn''t want to show off every inch of skin they can that they are being "virginal".
