I bought this stone a few days ago. Kind of a" for fun " purchase and I liked the color of this stone. It was not really a shape I ever thought about getting. I want to do a halo perhaps with a spilt shank. I contacted LOGR about modification cost for a 9.16 mm stone. They gave me a cost and said "I assume it is a round stone". I stated not exactly and sent them a link to the stone. They replied they could NOT make a ring for me. I am so disappointed as I thought an octagon could go in a round setting. What do I do now? Do you think it is just LOGR or is this going to be the policy anywhere?

Anyone have a set octagon stone?
Any suggestions on how I could set it? I've seen JKT has done some in a bezel but I was really hoping to halo this ;(
PLEASE send suggestions. I am feeling so :(sad
Here is the stone and the ring I inquired about

It should fit into any setting with four prongs for a round. I actually prefer this setting better for an octagon, just to give you some ideas. You could also get a square halo with clipped corners (like an asscher shape) and that should do as well. Cellentani set an octagon shaped stone into an asscher shaped halo, it came out great. It was a peridot I think. I think Stephen is assuming you want something to fit the exact shape of your stone. A round or asscher shaped halo should do nicely.

WOW that is a pretty cool setting. I will also search for the peridot octagon. If I decided to go with the setting I linked, what size would I order? My stone is 9.16, do I order a 9.2? I've obviously never done this before

I think you might need it a bit smaller, but don't quote me on that, like a 9mm. Here is Cellentani's peridot octagon in an asscher halo. I would go with a setting with clipped corners like this one, not the one you linked to. It will look cleaner and nicer in there.

They said the same thing to me when I wanted to set my spess and told them it was an octagon. Then I had them customize the setting as though it was for a round. Guess what? It works perfectly.

I see now. This IS the look. I love it! I will have to page her to find out more about this. Thanks
LD do you have a picture of your spess set? I'd love to peek at it
