Hi Ladies,

I have realized I have nothing"Old, new, borrowed OR blue" for my wedding in July. My friends have asked me what I plan to do for each of these traditional things, and I truly have no idea...I have nothing I could use from any grandparents (chiming cuckoo clock anyone?

), nothing I can think of to borrow from any of my friends or mom, etc...

So, here I am, bowing to the PS Godesses and asking for your expert advice and opinions of what I could possibly do for each...traditional, new age, I want to hear them all!

Please help me with some creative ideas or share with me and/or show what you did or plan to do for each of these things for your own wedding!

Thanks, everyone!

My old - an 1880''s lace veil
My new - my dress

Still stuck on borrowed and blue!

New: My dress, veil, shoes, etc

Borrowed and Old: Borrowing a pearl ring from my mom (it was my grandmother''s) and a necklace from FI''s grandmother that all the women in the family have worn on their wedding day (I haven''t seen it yet, but she said she doesn''t care if I wear it or not, as long as it''s with me)

Blue: Ribbon on my bouquet, maybe my underwear, maybe my shoes, and I think the stone in FI''s grandmother''s necklace might be blue (she never told me the color, just that it might be an aquamarine, she couldn''t remember off hand)

Oh geez, I didn''t even think about that! Hmmm, I''m not sure what I''ll do, if anything. Everything I bought so far will be new (dress, veil, comb and shoes, when I get them). My sister''s dress is blue so maybe I''ll incorporate a little swatch or something into my bouquet.

I''ll have to think about this more and see if I''m ambitious enough to do this little scavenger hunt. Must find something old, borrowed, and blue. Got it.

Well my old, borrowed and blue were going to be my grandmother's turquoise necklace. But that's out now. So... new? My dress... everything. The other three have me stumped. Will have to consider this anew, apparently. Hmm.

I think an embroidered handkerchief can be your blue. As for borrowed? Do you know anyone with a nice anklet or toe rings? You can wear that as your something borrowed. Old, umm... an ANTIQUE handkerchief you can have embroidered?

New... your dress.

My "old" was a handkerchief that my great-grandmother had in her trousseau (hand made)that was handed down. My "new" was my pearl/diamond earrings. My "blue" was my garter. And my "borrowed" was a brooch that my MIL wore on her collar at her wedding. She pinned it to one of my underlayers of skirting.

And, my dad put a lucky sixpence in my shoe.

For whatever reason, the whole old, new, borrowed, blue thing was one of the few traditions I put thought into and embraced! Trust me, once you start thinking about it, it will come together quickly!

Old: 1930''s brooch I wore in my hair
New: the dress
Borrowed: supposed to be the pearl earrings my father bought my mom when they first started dating, but naturally my mom forgot them so right before I walked down the aisle I literally took her RHR right off her finger, haha.
Blue: my shoes

Old - locket of my grandmother''s that she and my mom both wore on their wedding days, probably woven into my bouquet since I don''t think I want to wear a necklace.

New - dress, shoes, earrings. this one is easy!

Borrowed - peridot and opal ring given to my mom by her dad

Blue - ?? I want my mom to stitch our initials into the hem of my dress in blue thread

I''m also using a sixpence that my great-uncle brought back from WWII for my grandmother''s wedding.

Something Blue?

You could paint your tootsies blue :)

THAT IS A FABULOUS IDEA!!!! Or, blue flowers on your big toes with a french pedicure!

Oh! I LOVE THAT NAILPOLISH!

What an awesome idea!!! That''s perfect! Especially with a peep toe shoe.

Old: I want to find a fantastic antique hair vine. (Something like these)

New: The gold fob-locket that I'm hoping FI will buy me for our wedding day... as a back-up, I'm gonna get some boy shorts that say "bride" on the butt

Borrowed: No idea... no one's offered anything yet!

Blue: I'm going to sew a bit of blue ribbon into a bow on the hem of my dress.

Old: The stones in my earrings...they are from my mom''s and my grandma''s erings and have been reset for me by my mom as a wedding present! I love them!
New: Dress, shoes, comb, veil.
Borrowed: The crinoline I''m wearing under my dress was originally Robbie''s and she''s generously letting me borrow it!
Blue: I might wear blue shoes, but if not, my garter and my flowers will be blue, and I love the blue toenail idea too!

Old: My RHR (100 years old, made from a great-great grandmother''s earrings)
New: Dress, shoes, etc.
Borrowed: I don''t remember
Blue: I had a blue flower painted on one of my toenails (I''m so not a flowery nails girl, but it served its purpose and was actually sorta cute)

Old, Borrowed, and Blue: My Grandmother''s rosary that had been her great-grandmother''s. My pearl necklace was also old, but only because I am, too.

Other Blue: My bouquet ribbon.
New: Everything else - dress, veil, shoes, tiara, earrings, etc.

Thanks, ladies! I love all of your ideas!

I had actually considered using blue polish on my toes, but with celery green and fucshia, I''m just not sure I can pull off another color without it looking way out of place.

So, I think I could do a french manicure on my toes, and I love the idea of a little blue flower, or maybe a flower with a pale blue rhinestone in the center, maybe? I guess I can always go for the blue undies if all else fails!

Please keep the great ideas and thoughts coming!

Old - a piece of my late grandmother''s jewelry. I have not decided on what yet.. I really want to use her old diamond chan. earrings, but they may be too big.
New - Dress and accessories
Borrowed - Borrowing a veil and slip from my MOH
Blue - I am having a hard time with this. I want to use the sap. earrings or necklace that FI gave me during the first years of our relationship, but they don’t really match the dress. I was thinking about putting the pendant on a bracelet. Also, I am having the date and our initials on a blue patch sewn into my dress and a blue last name initial monogrammed into my bouquet ribbon.
