My mother just sent me a link to this website where you can browse old postcards by state, county, and city. I''ve seen some brides here use these as images for their save-the-dates and thought I''d post it as a source. Penny Postcards

Dear Lord Selkie!
How did you know I spent most of the Wednesday before last working in iphoto and photoshop to make a vintage looking p-card for our rehearsal invite? We remain on mind-meld. Now I will spend my afternoon perusing p-cards and not working. (hey, living out in CA have you thought of dragon boating?)

For anyone wanting to do p-cards, I take back a previous post that was anti visaprint. Now you can move their logo off whatever you are printing (just to outside of the printable margins) and then you are not printing up an advert for them. Which makes me happy as we are not having a wedding sponsored by anyone. Then again, if they would sponsor us...nah, it didn''t work for Star Jones. With uploading our own image and cheap/slow shipping, it was $21 for 100 invites. Not free, but the quality was really great

And most importantly, what have you done to your cat? Kitty looks pleased with the situation...but what is going on there?

Dear Lord Selkie!

Sounds like I was a little late to help you, but hopefully it will work for some other folks.

Dragon boats are everywhere around here. Looks like fun, and I did think about it but realized I no longer have quite the um, sheer aggression it looks like those crews need. I'm sticking to kayaking peacefully around the local marina. Side note: The USC crew trains down in the Port of LA near where I live, in the scariest place I can imagine launching and rowing (in amongst the ginormous cranes, barges, and tankers).

Oh, and my cat? Is allergic. TO CAT DANDER. She gets into these vicious cycles of licking and scabbing, and pretty much is currently wearing a soft E-collar full-time (or a neoprene knee-brace that I've repurposed as a full-body bandage-remind me to post a pic of THAT some time). She had jumped into our laundry carrier and was peering out over the top of it very cutely. I just realized that Haven's avatar is also of a cat in a blue e-collar too.

Selkie,

Thanks for passing along that link! I love it!

And your cat, how funny is that? She''s allergic to HERSELF. Hahahaha... I needed a good chuckle today and that definitely did it.

Selkie, although this is completely off topic- how funny is your quote at the bottom! Nice use of Eddie Izzard''s hilarious comedy m''dear!!
