While browsing through the brides.com gown section, I stumbled upon a beeeeautiful bridesmaid dress that looked like it could EASILY have doubled for a bridal gown. I found out it was a Lazaro, went to the site, and WOW(!). Some of these bridesmaid dresses have BUSTLES, and I'd bet they're less than $300. For example, this dress:

In white/ivory (the dress being available in both!), would anyone know it's a BM dress? I wouldn't!

If I wasn't madly in love with silk satin, I'd absolutely go this route. In fact, I'm not ruling it out yet!

Just thought I'd share. If you've found anything amazingly bridal with the price tag of a BM dress, feel free to post 'em!

Go for it! They have ivory colored. Don''t think they have pure white. If you don''t mind an ivory covered gown, these look like awesome choices for brides on a budget. I went on one trip to David''s Bridal and didn''t really like their stuff. These look much better. Great find!

Ooh, thanks for posting this! I haven''t yet started shopping for a dress, but I HATE the idea of spending so much money on something I will wear so little. And, I really dont think I''m going to look at many ''fancy'' dresses, so something lower key like this might be right up my alley!

I especially like this one

Great post, thanks so much!

i, too will be going for a bridesmaid dress, not just for budget reasons, but because after a day of trying on wedding gowns, i couldn''t find one that was comfortable enough for me.

also, we''re going for somewhat of an informal look. i LOVE this dress:

because those are two of the colors in our color scheme.
i want to wear something to cover my shoulders, and also to add a little formality to the dress.

There are some lovely BM gowns available... there was a bride on the knot a few years ago that bought a REALLY SUPER simple gown.. like this one at ann taylor and had her aunt or mother or someone add alencon lace to the bodice and the hem... and a ribbon at the waist. It turned out stunning. And I think she paid less than 200 bucks for the gown and 150 for the lace (I think she got that from ebay too). It was crazy gorgeous.
