Hello ladies! I am a lurker of the site but feel the need to ask your opinion on an issue. I am a newlywed (April 25th) but did not have a large wedding. My sister-in-law, whom I love dearly, is getting married September 6th at a large, evening wedding at a beautiful location here in Texas. The event is semi-formal/formal. My two oldest daughters are in the wedding and the colors are ivory, dark purple (almost eggplant), champagne/toupe/tanish.

I do not want, by any means, to step on any toes on her special day and am having a terrible time finding something to wear. I was wondering if you thought the attached dress had too much white in it to make it inappropriate. I am such a lover of black and white or am terrified of color, whichever way you look at it. I am 28 years old, a mother of three daughters, a size 12, blonde hair, blue eyes.

Thank you ladies in advance. I greatly respect your opinion!

oh mrs. t, i love this dress, i don''t think you would be stepping on any toes, because it definitely doesn''t look bride-ish to me, i think it''s stylish and suitable for a wedding, and plus you can wear it to future events

Thank you for the reply Ficklefaye. I haven''t really been to many weddings. While I know there are ettiquite rules to follow, I am sometimes unsure as the lines aren''t always clear.

perhaps if it was a solid white, it would be an issue, but this has a gorgeous black pattern on it, so i say go for it!

This is a great dress for a wedding, especially early September in Texas. It''s still considered late summer here, so you can get away with a great loud print like this!!

Beautiful dress. Very appropriate for a wedding. Have fun!

This would be perfect for the wedding! It doesn''t have too much white at all and it looks elegant! You should be fine wearing this dress!

Absolutely no problem with this dress for a wedding! It''s great!

Gorgeous dress. I wouldn''t see any problem with it.

I think that dress is great and doesn''t look at all like a "bridal" white dress because it has so much black in it also. But if you''re close with your sister-in-law and worry about it offending her somehow, why don''t you just ask her to make sure?

I''m sure she''ll say it''s fine and appreciate your concern about her feelings.

I think that dress is fine, too. Nice dress!

Gorgeous! Get it get it get it!

Beautiful-get it-I have worn black and white to a wedding and it was perfectly acceptable
