I''m in love with the setting below for my 2ct round, but hesitant to send my stone all the way to NY. Should I attempt to have a local jeweler (FL) try to re-create this setting? Would it be that difficult to reproduce? Your thoughts??? Thanks!

Exactly, Leon makes masterpieces and they are works of art IMHO. You truly won''t be dissapointed with his work. Sending your stone by registered mail is very safe. Good luck, and let us know what you decide.

I agree. His work is the ultimate imo...and copies will be pretty but his workmanship is devine. When I get my forever stone I''m going to him ....

From the amount of detail on his rings, I don''t know that I would try to have anyone replicate his work in a REPLICA. If you like elements, then you could probably have something made locally that would be similar but it won''t be exactly like the Leon rings IMO!

Speaking of Leon, I was lucky to share in the experience of another PS''ers search for her upgrade (Boom aka Yuli). Thanks Yuli! I uhh persuaded her to go to him just yesterday

totally agree w/ mmm. When I get THE final ring, it will definitely be in a Leon creation. His work is just amazing!! The only other person I would consider going to would be Mark Morrell, if I decided to do a more simple type setting (not pave).

cutegirl- that loupe shot is SO COOL! want to take more?

couldn''t have said it better!! i was really hesitant to send out my stone to someone i''d never met in erson (i''m from tx) but over a year of reserach, couldn''t find any jeweler that could do that kind of detail and still keep things dainty and delicate. never regretted my decision.

I would send a stone to Leon in a heartbeat and almost did. You can add me to the someday will have a Leon List:-)

Does anyone know if Leon would consider using the platinum from my current tiffany setting/w. band to make the new setting? I know that I''ll never use the current setting otherwise.

as far as I know, and you can check with the experts, platinum cannot be melted and reused. it just doesn''t work for some reason. Most people sell their old settings for scrap or put a CZ''s in them and keep them. I would also be surprised if it could be done, Leon would do it. He is an artist with the normal artist temperment from my own experience and hear say and I would assume he will want to use his own mix

Also, does anyone know if Leon would make the setting with pics/specs of the stone, without the actual stone in-house?

I highly doubt it. part of going custom is having the setting made around your stone..

Personally, I''d send my stone right on over to Leon ;-) That setting is amazing -

I had a custom ring made, and they had my stone for about 5 or 6 weeks. It went by slowly as I waited for my new ring to be ready but it was worth it!

Don''t worry at ALL about your diamond it''ll be in VERY safe hands. Plus, with Leon, you KNOW you''re ring will be amazing. He is an artist, not just a jewelry maker.
