Everyone has been so helpful evaluating BM dresses. I have been searching for quite a bit of time now and would love some feedback. our wedding ceremony is going to take place in a catholic church and the reception is in a gorgeous tent. we are hoping to have a late afternoon service w/an into the evening reception. my own dress isn''t that formal (i wish i knew how to link, but it''s been posted a couple of times). Some might find my dress picks a tad unconventional, as most of them aren''t bridesmaid dresses per se. i''m trying to find something that i feel suits our personalities (fiancee and I), something i think is pretty, something that flatters a variety of bodies and something that doesn''t cost too much $$$. fire away

I LOVE the first and the second. The third one is a great shape, but seems a little busy. The waist on the second is very flattering, and looks like the shoulders would be comfortable. I adore the skirt on the first one, though.

Okay, I love #5

I like #1 and #5 the best.

#1 - I love love love this dress.
#2 - very similar to #1, but the fabric of #1 looks better to me.
#3 & #4 - My SIL worn something very similar to those dresses to our tea ceremony, and I thought it was really nice. But I do think they are a little too busy for BMs.
#5 - pretty dress, but I don''t like it as a BM dress
#6 - It looks shapeless to me, so it might not be flattering on everyone.
#7 - similar to #1 without the ruching.

#1 HANDS DOWN!!! Love love love this dress! who makes it?

I *love* #5, but I'm not sure about it for a BM dress (unless the wedding is more casual). For a more formal BM dress, I'd vote #6 first, and then maybe #1. I'm sure your bridesmaids will thank you up and down for choosing dresses they can wear again. I would!

#1, love that dress.

Some of the other ones, while pretty, seem really informal.

I went to a wedding once where the BM''s dresses were really informal, and it was weird because a lot of the guests were more dressed up than them. It just seemed strange to me.

thanks for the opinions! i love #1 the most. maybe. it''s made by bari jay. my favorite part is the skirt and i''m pretty sure that the middle and top are flattering to all of my BMs. we''re going to have to have a try-on to make certain -- but i think that might be the one i opt for. it''s hard to strike a balance between pretty, affordable, rewearable and formal enough

If #1 will be flattering to all of your maids, go for it! I love that dress!
