I’m not sure I love the sapphire itself but I love the setting and think that may be clouding my judgement.

It looks pretty but it looks like both the sapphire and the setting will need to be rehabbed. The sapphire looks like it has abrasions so will need polishing and the prongs look like they need to be fixed.

Thank you! That sounds expensive so I’m prob going to pass.

I don't love the sapphire itself. It looks very dark. I would personally pass on it.

I'm impressed the listing is very honest, with notation of the sapphire being dark and with facet abrasion. Setting is very pretty but the sapphire not so.

+ 1 pretty setting needs rehab work done and an overly dark inky sapphire.

I think it's a fair price for a small-ish, darker, shallow, heated sapphire. I agree that the "appraisal" seems likely to be accurate. A dark stone that is only 3 mm deep is pretty dark.

I am not a fan of the Princess Di style ("coronet cluster"), I confess -- it has a wannabe look to it. That said, I think this is a pretty ring and the proportions look OK (center stone-to-halo size ratio).

I don't mind the abrasions at the meet-points -- looks like my spouse's after a decade of pretty hard wear. That's why you stop using the loupe once you bring the ring home.

I actually like it. I know it is not an ideal piece but it has some charm that I like. The setting is lovely. It does look like it might be dark though so maybe get some pics in different lights.
