Hi, after i created a thread about "cheap" rubbies in which most fellow friends here recommend against buying them, i decided to search another gemstone.
Now comes an offer from local seller here in my country Indonesia.

stone is blue spinel which the seller states the"royal blue" color as its positive value

from Vietnam
weight 2.06 carats
Oval shape 8.99 x 7.15 x 4.16
Non treated as Dufau Gem Lab.

From the photos and short outdoor video, I really like the saturated blue color. But my I notice quite a lot of inclusion in the stone.

I need for suggestions from experienced friends here. Thank you.71D1CCE4-B539-4710-8CE4-DB2F5AD64A26.jpeg89B155FF-9CE1-44C4-AA05-C7165B7B9C8C.jpeg61A610DD-36C7-435F-BB6B-5FBEF0C004A1.jpegBE1086DE-590E-4CDA-BF39-F0A7DCADE51B.jpeg

There is the video link, above

Thanks

There are only a select few gem labs that have the proper equipment to test gems to actually certify that they are untreated. Dufau Gem Lab is not one of them. You can often tell the quality of a stone by first looking at the setting. The setting here appears to be mass produced with the stone not really fitting and held in by poorly-shaped prongs. A quality stone would never be placed in this setting, which I would guess is sterling. If you prefer to buy a stone in a setting, I would look to a second hand jewelry website rather than these "cheap" mass produced rings with second or third rate stones.

Agreed. Also a natural blue spinel would be very $$$$

I agree with all of the above. The report I wouldn’t trust and again this is similar to your cheap rubies in that it is in a very cheap setting. Spinels of this colour of unheated/untreated are valuable but I suspect this has been treated heavily.

Ok thanks all for your suggesions. I will skip this.
