OK folks, talk me out of this. I''m still looking for a dress for Wedding Part 1 (I took the Mark Jacobs one back). Someone is selling one that just knocked me out. It''s the most beautiful dress I''ve yet seen. Apparently, there''s only about three salons in teh US that carry this line and none are near me, so I can''t try it on. The person selling it (a two dress bride) says it''s final sale only. Money wise, it''s quite a lot, but I can manage it with a little tweaking. It should fit, if the measurements are right. But what if it looks ridiculous on me?

So, I shouldn''t do it, right? Right? RIGHT?

Right!

normally id say ''right''!! but then again...maybe the dress can sway me? :) would it be possible for you to post a picture of it?

Is it a style/cut that typically looks good on you? Did the seller supply her personal measurements so you''ll know for sure the dress will fit? I think measuring clothing is so much more subjective than measuring actual bodies. And if it doesn''t work out, do you think you could sell it again for around the same amount of money?

If all the answers are yes, I''d probably go for it. But I''m a risk taker when it comes to ordering stuff online/sight unseen...and I''m just kind of loose with money in general so I''m definitely not one to help you make a responsible decision!

If you have tried on a dress with the same color, the same level and type of detail, the same skirt, the same bodice, the same neckline and the same sleeves (obviously not in the same dress) you might be able to do it. It also depends a lot on you ability to judge these things. I used to be head costumer for a number schools I went to and have made my own clothes, so I KNOW what looks good on me and what doesn''t while my future sister in law would have no clue.
Also think about things you can''t tell from online as well. How heavy is it? Is it easy to walk in? What will the fabric feel like? Does the bodice heve the right amount of structure like internal stays? Is it for sale because it was a display model or because there is a fault with it?
I won''t say don''t but maybe ask some question until you are sure one way or the other.
