Not sure where we intially heard of the idea, but FI and I really liked the idea of a guestbook made from a photography or coffee table book that captures the theme of the wedding or couple's interest.

We're having a tree-themed wedding, and bought a signed copy of "Listen to the Trees", photography by John Stanton. All the photos are in black and white.

There are two page setups. One, with a quote on the left and a photo on the right, and two, with a photo on both left and right. I think we'll find some markers in our wedding colors, teal and red-orange, for signing, and people can sign them "yearbook" style. Or however they want. Won't post too many tree photos here for copyright reasons, but here's a taste (and, apparently, a little orange kitty paw).

The pages are white, but I had to shoot without the flash because of the glossy paper. Excuse the orange tint!

I love the big and wide format of this book. And the colored markers are going to stand out so well!

It''ll be a wonderful keepsake.

fabulous idea! i may have to bite yoru style and look for a book on urban parks...

Oh, misy! Sarah''s right...that is a fantastic idea! I love it!!! Kudos to you on your creativity!!!

THAT is a FABULOUS idea! Would you mind if I did something similar?

I did have one thought though. I wondered about what type of writing utensil to use. Would marker bleed through to the other page(s) and would pen make little indentations on the backside of each page? Maybe this would just depend on how heavy-handed people are when writing. This might be nothing to worry about but it was just something I thought of.

Having said that, I really do love this idea!

Of course not, Zoe! That''s what PS is for!

As for writing utensils, it''s defiinitely something to keep in mind. This paper is super thick photography-grade, so it will be harder to bleed through it, but if you end up going with a coffee table book, it may have thinner pages. We''re going to hit up an art store and I''ll use FI''s art experience to find the right markers. I think we''ll look for archival markers, too, to make sure the writings don''t fade.

Great idea!

Love this idea! Also, make sure that the markers won''t smudge. Since the paper is super glossy, it will need to be a fast drying marker so that if several people turn pages the other pages won''t get smeared.
