Hey, I''m back in the city. Would you care to take me around 47th and teach me about vintage jewellery? Thanks!

When is good for you? It should be a weekday so the shops will be open with goodies on display in the windows. Perhaps sometime the week after next?

Experts started out as excessive amateurs!You have what it takes...passion,tons of study,great eye for detail,a super collection for hands on study....your past posts show that you are very good at determining age and era,condition and if its a married piece....I wish that I could go shopping at the many shops with you and Harriet!Take pics of your day together so we can see what you found...this could be a whole new quiz and discussion thread!

The week after next works. My schedule is wide open. Let''s not do Friday as the stores close earlier then. Let me know. I''m looking forward to meeting you.

My apologies, but would next Wednesday (same time, same place) work? I''m volunteering at a museum and will only be able to finalise my schedule tomorrow. I''d hate to cancel on you at the last minute. I''ll be sure to keep next Wednesday free.

That was tons of fun!

I got to see several of Harriet''s gorgeous gemstones in Leon''s gorgeous settings--the first time I''d ever seen a Leon in person. They''re amazing, so precise and delicate and beautifully balanced. And Harriet''s gems are amazing too.

I also got to see her Whiteflash ER, with its beautiful arrow pattern.

It was a rainy day (again!)--I bet those beauties are even better in brighter light.

We had a great time window shopping on 47th St.
 
It was fun. Thanks for the history lesson. You have an incredible knack of finding lovely settings on Ebay. I''d like to see more of your collection.

We strolled around window shopping in the rain. We had coffee at a Starbucks and Harriet showed me some of her amazing Leon pieces. We went into one of the jewelry exchange buildings and looked at antiques. My favorite was a cricket or grasshopper brooch set with demantoids and rubies, and some pieces of jet. Harriet pointed out the better sapphires in windows on 47th Street.

Next time you have to join us, Jewelerman!!
