Awww, aren''t you ladies sweet! I am so honoured that I''ve been missed.

James and I got back late last night after a CRAZY busy day viewing apartments in waaaaaaaaaaaay NW London. I wasn''t able to take photos of the inside (although it''s totally bare so there wouldn''t be much to show off anyway), but we have put money down to reserve a 2 bedroom apartment in South Oxhey, near Carpenders Park rail station. There''s a communcal garden and our apartment building is at the end of cul-de-sac (no idea what they call them here in England) so it''s nice and quiet and the views out of almost all the windows in the apartment are full of trees!!! I love trees. I am not a city girl, so trees are important.

Anyway, the paperwork for our reference check was mailed yesterday, so it should arrive today or tomorrow. If it all goes through, we should be moving on August 26th! Yay!

Gwen, that sounds so beautiful! I live in a high rise in a city, and while I have a lovely skyline view, it''s the beautiful park in front of my place that gives me peace when staring out the window

Yes, finding a place to live in London or even just outside London (we are technically just over the line of what''s considered the ''greater London area'') is really difficult, especially now with the credit crunch--lots of people who aren''t qualifying to buy their own houses are having to rent, so there are almost no apartments on the market! I knew if we didn''t reserve the place that day, it''d be taken from us, so we put it on reserve after talking it over and comparing it to the property we saw after it. Hopefully the credit check will be fine (should be!) and it will be ours!!!
