I have two rings that I no longer wear that I''d like to reset into a pendant -- .48 round diamond; .16 oval diamond. Here''s my first stab at a design. The funny looking dots are supposed to be diamonds. Anyone have any other ideas? Maybe I should just reset the round into a single-stone pendant??

Using both the pear and RB in one pendant would be very interesting and different. I like your drawing--you could use themelee in the setting and it''s be gorgeous! You could also eliminate a bale and run a fine chain or wire through the back of the pendant.

Another idea I have seen is inverting the pear as if it was the bale and dangling the RB from it.

Thanks, Jen. My drawing skills are crap, the "pear" is really an oval. Unless I get some other inspiration, I''ll probably have a wax done after the hubbub of the holiday and see whether the concept translates into a good reality!

The drawing says "girdle setting" to me, like the pendant below (please ignore the weird presentation with hook and feathers!)...

I guess your stones will have different proportions, but could not find anything remotely alike off the rack (that''s good, of course).

You mention having a wax made. That works if you want a relatively thick frame around the diamonds. A thin one may better be achieved otherwise, especially of gold. Hope one of the bench jewelers will add to this thread.

I would take the round and set it in a flower type pendant with rubies surounding it.

something like this except for ruby surrounds and in white gold.

The design you made is really cool and it would look great with diamonds surrounding it! I also like the bezel pear that is posted here by Ana. I''ve never seen a pear-shaped bezel-set stone so this seems more unique than the usual pendants we see around.
