Understandably Pricescope tends to emphasize rings and there’s lots of “show me your...” that are specific to erings, bands, rhr, etc. but aside from a few threads on SMTR that seem to mostly focus on solitaire style pendants, there don’t seem to be too many threads showcasing pendants.

Where do you guys go for inspiration for pendant designs that go beyond a solitaire or halo?

Big auction houses such as Christie's.

Have a look at their past auctions in US, Switzerland and Hong Kong.

DK :))

Genius!

I need something to distract me while I wait lol. Browsing christines past inventory should do the trick!

What type of CS, as I found loads on the web for Aquamarine?

DK :))

I found some examples on leibish but all were solitaires or halos lol.

I’m also looking at gray spinels and sapphires for inspiration

@MakingTheGrade :wavey: I like to look at Ruby Lane for vintage ideas and 1st Dibs.

Yvonne's Etsy site perhaps?

How about Lang Antiques?

DK :))

Yvonne and many of the vendors tend to showcase mostly rings though I’m sure many designs could become pendants

Hehe. I already follow langs on Instagram. But will poke around ruby lane too.

Maybe you should start a 'show me your colored stone pendants that are not solitaire style" thread? LOL

haha maybe. Though I don’t think colored stones are as ubiquitously put in solitaire styles compared to diamonds. May not need that last part to keep it from seeming too wordy lol

Something with engraving + rhodium

That’s gorgeous! I was actually wondering if anyone works with black mother of pearl. I think the soft iridescence would look so pretty contrasted with the sharp diamond sparkle

I like that idea better, actually!
Really depending on how ‘moody’ your grey will be in different lighting (brown, green, yellow) and knowing how that relates to what color(s) you put next to the stone, will help you decide - I’m sure!

Ohhh, can we post some inspo pics? I'm currently about to receive a pad, and I'm thinking of setting it as a pendant!

Some designs which I think are cool/nice:

These are earrings, but could be made into a pendant?

Yeah I’m just trying to distract myself while I wait for it! JA has to get the stone and then inspect and set it in the temp bezel setting I picked. So probably won’t arrive for about 2 weeks.

So far I love the look of this but I’m thinking maybe moonstone melee for even more mystery. Or maybe red spinels. And a black/bluish mother of pearl. Hehe. Diamond in the middle of course

I'd love to see inspiration pics of colored gemstone pendents. I'm working on that type of project too (though it will be a couple years down the road before I've got enough saved.)

That's really pretty! Simple, elegant and unique.

I ordered this MoP money clip so I can “see” what the combo might look like when both come in.

It’s also just super pretty and I do use money clips! It was either order 10$ of cheap lacquered MoP beads or spend an extra 40$ for this super pretty all natural piece with some functionality. No brainer.

I’m also loving this design but I’d invert the colors of the MoP. I think it’d be an awesome pin/pendant convertible piece.

Bharjujewelry is designing my husband’s 40th birthday present. He inspires me a lot. You may know him for his spinning pendants.

This is a Mozambique cuprian tourmaline, cut by Dalan Hargrave. I have a mini version in sterling silver and garnet.
