Photographer recommendations in Los Angeles?

We are not thrilled with the few photographers our venue recommended.

Any LA brides can recommend names of photographers they have used?

Ficklefaye''s reccommendation is a good one. I loved the work of Enchanted Portraiture. Unfortunately she showed up a half an hour late to our meeting (without so much as apologizing or calling to reschedule), and it put me off enough not to use her. But I''m sure that was a fluke thing, and her work is beautiful.

I ended up using Michelle Johnson Photography, and loved her.

And, if you have a hefty photography budget, I have a couple of friends who have used Jim Kennedy photograpahy and been pleased. If you use them, I would make sure that Jim takes your actual photos. I have had some friends who have had his wife show up instead, and were not pleased with her work.

oh how strange, it must have really been an off day for her, she was slightly late for our meeting because she had to run some errands with her children, and she just kept apologizing and even offered to feed us (we met her at her home)

Jenny Liu did a wonderful job for my wedding. She is very professional and makes you feel very comfortable to give your ideas. During the wedding and reception I did not even notice her or her assistant- they were all over the place, yet they were out of the way at all times. She was always early for all of our meetings/ engagement session and finally for our wedding. Her prices were also very reasonable.

I wholeheartedly recommend Mi Belle Inc. We shot through them with Jessica and Maria. We interviewed quite a few photographers and dot the sleazy salesman vibe from many... but Josh and Michelle (the owners, who we met with first) were warm and friendly, and didn't try to do any 'convincing' (I hate that). Jessica and Maria were great the day of, I felt like I'd known them forever and they were a blast to shoot with.

I LOVE the jim Kennedy site... and actually just learned I know someone who used his wife for over $4000. I am assuming he is WAY out of our budget... but I guess, once again, everything is more expensive in LA so te budget wil be altered AGAIN.
