PLEASE HELP!

We are planning on taking most of our posed photos before the ceremony. I know, at first I was not sure about seeing each other before the ceremony, but I am over it now.

I figure it will still be surprising when we see each other for pictures. Plus, we really want to be at our entire wedding. we have worked so hard to plan it, and don''t want to miss a second.

Anyways, the question is -- HOw long do you estimate it would take to take

1. Bride/ groom pictures
2. Bridal party pictures
3. Most posed family pictures

WE do not mind taking SOME pictures during the reception and the cocktail hour, but dont want to do the bulk of them during it.

Thank you so much

How large is the bridal party? Will you be taking the photos at your ceremony site?

Oh sorry. More information

THe bridal party - we each have 7

The entire ceremony, cocktail and reception are in one location. NO traveling at all.

We have a medium sized family.

I'd dedicate an hour for posed shots, especially if you want a bunch of different combinations (for example, groom with each of his groomsmen, etc). I'd also build in some extra time in case people get lost or arrive to the site late. If you don't end up needing the extra time for posed, you can use it to get some cool journalistic shots of you and your FH.

I was an assistant shooter at a wedding this weekend, and the bride and groom were 15 minutes late. Needless to say, it was pretty rushed, which isn't any fun.

Ours went *very* quickly. We also saw each other before the ceremony but it was still special. The photographers set it up so it was just us and them. They captured both our reaction. Those are the only photos we did ahead of time but we had a much smaller wedding party. I would think they would only need 45 mins and then maybe another 30 mins with you and your future hubby. Ask your photographer though. Some are faster than others.
