Hi, all..

While I suspect a thread giving "lessons" on how to use these programs might not be welcome, can anyone direct me to a website or book or something that could help a computer idiot like me?

I''d SO MUCH love to learn how to do that magic....

You should get one of those "for dummies" books, they are easy to understand and will show you how to do all the things you would want to do that are beginner and intermediate.

yeah good idea.

i taught myself photoshop just by playing around with it and seeing what each thing does. but that''s just the basics. there are all sorts of more advanced things i don''t know!!

I went to college to learn Photoshop I recommend either Photoshop Bible or Photoshop for Dummies. I give my interns acopy of one or the other if they aren''t as adept as Id likethem to be.

Photoshop is a very powerful but not too intuitive program. If you have the time, it is best to take a class from a Community College. If you just want to learn the basics, there are lots of books out there. Besides the ones already mentioned, Adobe publishes a series called "Classsroom in a book". It includes a CD which you can use to practice what is covered in each lesson in the book. This was the textbook for the class I took. Alternatively, there is a company called Total Training which makes video training for Adobe programs, but the DVD costs more than a book.
