I went and picked up my dress today!!! Just wanted to share some pics...It''s Renella DeFina couture, a designer whose stuff I LOOOOOOVE.

Quick recap since I haven''t posted too much - my wedding isn''t until May of 07 but I''d been dress shopping with my mom and friends a few times in April this year. I wasn''t really planning to order anything until the end of Summer, just thought I''d look every few weekends until then and then order whatever I''d liked best, but I ducked into a sample sale last weekend (solo, totally not intending to even try anything on, just curious about the sample sale format mostly) and found this dress. It was about 30% off and the sample is absolutely pristine and the size I would have ordered anyhow.

The bodice is a little big and not pinned in this pic so it will be more flattering on my waist and chest when it''s taken in, and the neckline is straight across but is pinned here to give a little divet (when its altered there will be a more drastic sweetheart neckline put in), but it''s coming along!

Thanks everyone. I''ve already tried it on once at home since bringing it back- I will have to stop this, it''s sure to get wrecked if I''m pulling it out and trying it on by myself all the time! I''m having some nagging doubts right now about how it fits me in these pics and whether its flattering, but i''m sure its just because of the fact that the bodice is a little too big. trying not to be an obsessive freak...resisting urge to take it out and try it on again...

katrina you look great in it!! I wouldn''t worry about the bodice - I had the same issue w/my dress - it was way too big in the bodice and when I tried it on, I was really disappointed bc I thought it made me look really fat... then I finally got it fitted and I loved it!

katrina- lovely dress! I think adding a little bit of a sweetheart neckline will personalize it for you, as well as flatter you.

Are you wearing a cathedral or chapel length veil as well? How dramatic! the fabric on the skirt is also very luxurious looking, btw. Congratulations!

Thanks Flopkins, that makes me feel a lot better. It''s a really cool dress, and I may put a crinoline underneath to give it some more shape in the skirt. I''m staying positive and thinking that after alterations and some personalization it will be fantastic. There''s definitely a reason I loved it in the first place, but I just kind of started to freak out after seeing the pictures. I was going to wait to get it altered until much closer to the wedding, but I think I''ll do now so I know exactly where I stand with it!

and yep, I''m going to wear a super long, plan veil, just like pictured. i get as excited about veils as i do about dresses!
