I''m so excited...my actual dress arrived. Just had to share pics with you all.

I''ve decided not to wear a veil, but would love everyone''s advice on a necklace...I don''t think I want to wear one, but would I look too "bare" without?

Thanks for looking!!

I''m not the best with accessory advice, but I just had to post to say you look GORGEOUS in your dress! I love it! I''m sure you''re just over the moon right now.

Oh, I love the neckline!!! Your dress is gorgeous!

I think a delicate necklace could work beautifully, but I always have to try it, take a picture and THEN make a decision after I see how I look.

Can''t wait to see what you decide!

Here''s the back...also, forgot to mention that this is pre-alterations...don''t think they make heels tall enough for that length to work

Thanks for the responses everyone! Yeah, I''m very torn on jewelry. And, I feel bad, bc FI got me a beautiful pearl necklace for the occassion, but it''s def. not going to work with the neckline...

I love it! I think you would need a very simple necklace if you went that route. I would vote for no necklace, but instead a really great pair of earrings, because the lace neck line on the dress is so pretty by itself.

Oooh...fancy earrings are a great idea! I don''t have pierced ears though...would clip ons be uncomfortable?

I ADORE that neckline. Who is that dress by? It''s stunning on you! I think just chandelier earrrings would be great. No necklace.

Thanks, Gypsy!

The dress is by Monique Lhuillier (sp??), but its an older design, so I haven''t seen it around too often.

On the upside, the bridal shop I went to doesn''t update the price for each dress over time...so, I got a ML for 2003/2004 pricing

Your dress is so beautiful! I would definitely go with a very light, delicate necklace with a short length. Have you seen any of the dogeared jewelry? It''s not very bridal-y but I think their "commitment" necklace would look great with your dress. I have to warn you though that my taste is definitely not traditional bridal in any sense, more like a vintage, casual.

That was my dream wedding dress. It''s divine. Truly!

With that neckline, I''d go for a sautoir style antiquey necklace because it will play on the old school style and the drop of a sautoir will be divine with that neckline...!

i love the back of the dress - so sexy! :D

love the neckline.. you look beautiful in it.

i would get simple pearl earrings or something - your dress is exquisite by itself, you don''t need to wear too much.

The dress is gorgeous and you look fantastic in it. I agree with many of the others ~ no necklace. But I woud definitely wear a pair of fancy chandelier earrings. There is some beautiful (and cheap!) jewelry on http://whiteaisle.com.

It''s absolutely stunning!

Wow I love it! It''s so pretty!

Gorgeous dress!

If it were me, and I had to wear a necklace, I would wear my diamond bezel-set pendant. It''s subtle and sparkles like crazy. I would not wear something ornate since it would compete with your dress. So, I would wear a smaller pendant of sorts, or nothing at all.

Good luck! The dress looks amazing on you, even in the pre-alteration phase.

You look stunning! Wow, how excited you must be! I love love love Monique''s lace and that style just suits you perfectly.

I vote for no necklace! It''ll be too much and I''m scared the clasp may snag on the back since the lace goes up high. Besides, the neckline on the dress is so gorgeous, any necklace will be distracting and your neck will look too "busy."

Nice earrings of any type will look gorgeous. Even simple pearl studs. Maybe you can find a way to wear the pearl necklace from your FI as a multi-strand bracelet? If it''s a little too short to wrap around three times, then maybe attach an extender (a bunch of links that clasps to both ends of your necklace or bracelet).

You look SO BEAUTIFUL in that dress. It''s absolutely amazing!

That is BEAUTIFUL!!!

Thanks so much everyone for your kind responses

I think I''m leaning towards no necklace...but could be persuaded to find a beautiful pair of clip on earrings

Any thoughts on perhaps wearing a bracelet as my jewelry accent?

LOVELY dress!
I think the jewelry depends on you of course, what is your everyday style?

If it were me, I think I would do bigger crystally earrings and either no necklace or a very delicate short chain and pendant.
I think the neckline would be overwhelmed with too much necklace, you know?

I adore your dress!!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE your dress. It has an ART deco feel. You look stunning in it... just gorgeous Darlink... I think these earrings would work perfectlly

I am so sorry !!

I could not get them to post.. they were Emily from White Aisle.. They have nice things on their site...

That dress is absolutely gorgeous, and you look stunning in it! I also think that a necklace would take away from that gorgeous neckline.

ETA: Have you considered wearing something in you hair, like an antique brooch? Since you're not wearing a veil I think that would look gorgeous with that dress if you're wearing your hair up.

Soooo gorgeous!
When you get it altered/hemmed, SAVE THE LACE! That is heirloom quality stuff there lady. There are folks on Etsy who make flowers out of fabric you provide, what about sending some of your lace for a flower pin for your hair? I agree with your no veil plan, though that extra lace would make great edging, it would be a shame to cover up that dress. Just loverly.

That''s great advice!

I love that dress too. It''s so romantic.

Jewelry wise, I agree with the basic choices the others have given you: Just elegant earrings OR just a little necklace (maybe a nice diamond pendant or something), but nothing flashy. How much longer til your wedding? You could always have your ears pierced if you wanted to go the earring route (okay, so that''s probably a bit drastic, but it''s a thought) Or you could get yourself a pair of super cheap clip ons and try wearing them around for a whole day and see if they start getting on your nerves. That way you won''t invest in any nice ones and regret it later.

What a great suggestion to keep the lace! I hadn''t even thought about that!

Also, I have three months till the big day...I think I''ll buy a pair of inexpensive clip-on earrings and wear them around for a bit

It''s so so beautiful! I adore it. If you are going to go for a necklace, a really light simple one would look beautiful.
