I''m sorry but I don''t have a pic. quit yet, I just bought my g/f a 1.04 ct. princess solitire engagment ring, the band is platinum and 2.5mm thick, I''m concerened that the band will be too thick, it''s an e-ring, so I didn''t get to see it in person first. It wonl''t be here for another week. I keep worrying what it will turn out like, so if there''s anyone out there with a princess solitire set in a 2.5mm band, please post them, so I can put my mind at ease! I don''t want the stone to look too little, but that''s the largest ct. my price range will allow, so I''d really seeing a couple examples.

I can''t help you with pics, sorry, but 2.5mm doesn''t sound like it will be too thick at all. It''s not teeny-tiny-insanely-thin, but it''s not a clunky size either. Don''t stress too much about it, I think you did good, 1.04 is a more than ample size and I think it will look great with a 2.5mm band. The hard part (choosing) is done. I''m sure it will be beautiful. Make sure you post pics when you get it back!

Thank you so much! I''m so new at this diamond thing, the online prices cldn''t be beat and I did my best to pick out a ring, the best I could do without seeing it in person, that is. I wasn''t sure how big one ct. would actually look, I know she''s not really into big flashy things, so my goal was to get a nice size diamond but make sure she''d like it. I''m so glad you gave me your opinion! I''m not proposeing for a while yet, but as soon as I get a chance I''ll post pics! Thanks again!

I just recently finished my long search for an engagement ring. I bought a 1.33c princess and am having it set in a 4mm platinum band, the jeweler showed me what it would look like and I don''t think the band takes anything away from the diamond. Your ring should be gorgeous with a 2.5 mm band, it really helps the stone pop! Good luck with the proposal.

Thanks FTB, you guys really helped put my mind at ease. Instead of being nervous about the ring I am now very excited to see it! I also got some good news, the diamond that I orginally selected was reserved for someone else, the company had made a mistake, however, they are now giving me a slightly better quality diamond for the same price!

This isn't a princess in this picture but the setting is 2.7mm to give you an idea of how thin in it. It is a size 5 1/2. It is a sim about 1.25ct (7mm). I like how thin this setting is.

I have a 1.5ct round that is currently set in a contour setting that is about 3.5mm and I hate it because it is so wide. My diamond wedding band is also about 3.5mm wide so the two together are too wide on my finger for them to be really comfortable. I am going to have my diamond put in a 2.7mm stuller tiffany 4 prong setting. It's identical to the picture except there are 4 prongs instead of 6.

I think you made a great choice! Incidentally, for my 10th anniversary I want a princess solitaire to match the princess eternity band I just ordered.

Jelly,

I don''t think that 2.5mm will be too large at all. A 1.04 carat stone is going to be right around 6.5mm if it is cut to ideal proportions. That quite a bit over twice the size of the band width.

It Should look Great!!!!!!

Here''s my 2.5 mm e-ring with 1.25ct princess on a 5.5 finger. My e-ring is kind of spready though, so it''s more like a 1.5 ct. I was also preggo then, so the fingers look fatter, but you get the gist. I think a 1 ct. would look great too.

Thank you so much for the post and opinions! I def. feel alot better about my purchase, those two rings are beautiful and the bands don''t look too wide what-so-ever! That''s the look I was going for, not to thin as to look cheap or breakable, but not too thick as to over power the stone. Thanks again, anymore opinions are very welcome, they really are getting me anxious to see the final product!
