I got my first CS from Gene last Thursday, I really really like my choice and it is a very happy experience. It is a small stone only 7mm*5.5mm, but I still want to try my best to make it a WOW ring. Here is the photo from Gene, I could not make any better than this one.

Inspired by iLand, her sapphire is also from Gene and at the same size. The halo is made up of ten 5 pointers, total 1/2 carat. It is simple but elegant.

The second one is from a friend of mine, her stone is even smaller 5.5mm*4.3mm. Diamond used in her ring is 1.1 pointer and 0.7 pointer. I will try the larger diamonds if it is possible.

I like the uniqueness of the second setting.

3rd option is inspired by Yingh, and her stone is a 2.33ct tsavorite cut by Gene.

The last one I am also like very much,

My vote is for the second one or the last one - if you set the sapphire east/west. I also very much like both iLander's and Yinghs, but think the 10 pt diamond size might take away from your beautiful stone, and for Yingh's style setting, I fear your stone is not big enough to get the needed coverage. Have you told us what size your fingers are? That might help.

I too like the look and uniqueness of the second setting.

Here are some pics I have saved with an oval centre stone, and I particularly like the fishtail/flower/petal design.

A cluster/double halo, with smaller diamonds on the inside:

This one is from a setting vendor on eBay called diamondmounts:

Similar design to the one above:

Other settings for ovals that I like:

And this is my mum's cabochon ruby, now mine :bigsmile::

Good luck and have fun with deciding on the setting for your lovely pink sapphire.

Edited to add: delicate rings do not suit my big fat chunky fingers, middle finger being size US 10.5, and 9.5 for the ring finger!

DK :))

Chrono: I like the 2nd best too, it is very unique and looks good for the small stone;

Minousbijoux: thank you very much for your suggestion, mine wedding band and engagement ring is at size 5 but this time I want a size 6 ring since I want to put it on the middle finger of my left hand;

dk168: thanks a lot for sharing the pictures you saved, I like them all. Hope I could use these designs in the near future. Hope I will not wait for too long.

Another vote for number 2! It will give a nice contrast with your stone and is very suitable for the size of your stone.
