Pink vintage studs, settings for diamonds but.... not yet!

So I got these as possible settings for Edwina and her future match (someday). The pink stones are 6.1mm which means it would be a very good fit when professionally done. In my imagination I could simply send them off with Edwina and have the jeweller who sold me her match mount them into these settings and we’d all live happily ever after. Fingers crossed.


In the meantime, I’m so pleased with them that I will enjoy wearing them as-is for a while! Pink is my favorite color and I just love these.

Thanks. They didn’t come with backs, but for now, silicone stoppers will do. I keep looking in the mirror over and over. Vanity? Nah, just looking for the flash of pink!

Thanks! I have no idea what stone they are, but I expected them to be paste. Seller clueless. They might be glass! But they’re luminous, somehow. Not dull, as I would expect glass to be. Definitely not Modern cut, definitely not scintillating like cz. I imagine they might be from the 1930’s, possibly synthetic sapphire? Or imitation-synthetic sapphire. Ha!

Hmmm, nice quality setting, screw back. Looks like “things” inside the gem. Grab a loupe and look. Glass will only have perfectly round bubbles and synthetic will be crystal clear, you won’t see anything under x10.
I’m inclined to think they might be natural sapphires!

Two more photos, just because I like them so much. The stones don’t match; different colors, different cuts, slightly different sizes.

Maybe one is sapphire and the other is glass? Can’t tell. But it’s a pleasure to put them on in the morning.

I agree with Bron, Nice settings, screw backs, maybe they are natural stones. In any case, they look beautiful on you, I would be inclined to say keep them as is! Your beautiful diamond looks so lovely with the pearls. I hope you keep the pearls too. Thanks for sharing you have such a good eye!
