Does anyone have any thoughts on good wedding planning books that are helpful? There are SO many out there. I really am looking for something that is going to keep me organized and help me remember EVERYTHING that is going to need to be done. Thanks!

The one I have is called ''The bride''s book of lists: things to do and questions to ask" by Amy Nebens. It''s carried at Barnes & Noble. It''s excellent. Every detail you can think of is in it. Some chapters I don''t need since mine is small, but if you''re planning a larger wedding with the works, this is fabulous.

~~I know InStyle Weddings (magazine) has a new issue out right now, and they have a book that''s about 250 pages out as well (also called InStyle Weddings)...it''s really informative, and it''s also carried by Barnes & Noble.

The wedding planning "bible" for traditionalists: Emily Post''s Wedding Etiquette. I read the majorty of the book (glossed over the chapters that didn''t apply to me) just after getting engaged.

I used this as my point of reference, though I didn''t always follow the advice/instructions exactly!

I used "The Bride''s Essential Wedding Planner: From ''Yes'' to ''I Do'' and Beyond" by Amy Nebens, found at Barnes & Noble. It has questions and checklists, pockets for each section (ceremony, reception, music, etc.) so you can keep all your vendor contracts in the book, etc. I found it very useful.

Martha Stewart has an ok one. Actually, following the checklist on the Knot wasn''t bad either. Plus, that one is free.

I''m still a LIW, but I picked up The Conscious Bride''s Wedding Planner, and I''m impressed with it. It deals with the emotional prep, not just placesettings. I was particularly taken with the section on writing your own vows and finding someone to hold the ceremony since neither of us are religious and don''t want a typical ceremony.
