I know most people who frequent PS are mostly finacially comfortable, but besides spending money on diamonds, handbags for some of the ladies and cars/electronics for some of the men.....have any of you invested in plastic surgery? What have you or your spouse had nipped and tucked?

I guess I''ll start:

I have not had anything done "yet". I do plan on getting a tummy tuck one day. My husband wouldn''t mind if I also went for a bigger/firmer set of boobage while I''m at it, but that would mean no diamond upgrades for a LONG LONG time.

I think I''d rather look like deflated sharpei and have my nice big bling.

kewl boob thread 2 :}
The last one was hilarious :}

Where''s the first boob thread? I must have missed it

I have absolutely no interest at all in surgery, botox, etc. I''m 45 and probably look it, and I could afford it, but why? It certainly won''t make my DH love me anymore than he already does. I''m me the way I am.

No. But never say never. I would not have a face lift; but, would consider non-invasion eye lift or neck lift (i.e. if they were done outpatient with lazers.)

I haven''t had anything done but SO HELP ME GOD ONE DAY I''M GETTING MY INNER THIGHS SUCKED. Hmmm, that came uot wrong LOL. But I''m so getting lipo on my inner thighs. I just have to get down to fighting weight. Hubby said no prob, go for it. And I have a feeling that one day I"m going to get the large ladies lifted.

Haha that''s classic! Something I''d expect my hubby to say.

HA HA I knew there had been an old thread on this strm.

Too funny!!!

I haven''t but I will when I feel it is necessary. As long as you don''t end up looking like the victim of a horrible wind tunnel accident, or like your face is swelling from an allergic reaction (have you seen Priscilla Presley lately!?!?) I think it''s great.

I do object to the insertion of any sort of foreign object- breast, lip, cheek (upper or lower) implant. If you get a splinter, you remove it- I could never get used to the idea of something being left in my body on purpose.

What happened to Priscilla Presley?

I sat across from her at a restaurant many years ago. A beautiful woman.

No cosmetic surgery for me! My husband has already told me that if I feel like I need to do it, he will be ok with it. But he also says he doesn''t think I''m going to need it. And as long as he thinks I look good, that''s all that matters. I''ve seen too much ''surgery-gone-wrong'' in my life to even want to put myself through it! I have trouble even thinking about having surgery for some sort of medical reason, I can''t see myself doing just to improve my outward appearance. I suppose if I was in a car accident and was thrown through the windshield and had my face ripped to shreds, I''d want them to put it back together, but I wouldn''t go under the knife for purely cosmetic reasons. I don''t have a problem with someone who has the guts to do it, though. I''m just too much of a squeamish coward.

g injections of botox for headaches and have got injections between eyes for lines and around my eyes. Insurance covers headache portion and I cover the cosmetic areas. So far I have been pleased with results, not eating motrin or vicodin everyday for headaches! I also tried cosmoderm and cosmoplast for lips it was painful. I was disappointed with lips that they did not last long and all the pain to go thru for them! I also tried restylane and it was a tad better but no more for me! One day I would not mind a lift or tuck. Its not for everyone, especially if you can''t deal with pain and changing dressings, etc.

i don''t understand women

A former student of mine also had botox for migraines. Mine have recently gotten worse, but so far I don''t think they''re severe enough for injections....but maybe I"ll chat w/ my neurologist. Nothing else r/x worked for me and I have to take OTC.

blueroses:

I took motrin 800, vicodin, imitrex, and now its so simple to go get injections that work and last for couple months.

yellowfan, that''s so good to know. Imitrex made me SICK SICK SICK.

YAAAYYYYYY!!!!! Finally, an honest and secure man!

OMG Df, too funny!!! Well I have had nothing done and don''t plan to either. My mother has had 2 facelifts and has had liposuction twice!!!!! She looks well, but kinda like a 70 year old Barbie!!!! Thank god I got my fathers genes, and look younger than my age. But time will tell I guess. Oh and I could use some help in the boob department too!!! I''m a sunken chest, a pirates delight so to speak!!!!!

HI:

Actually my husband HAS said this already--but I hope he doesn''t go thru with it b/c he can''t afford to lose anymore brain cells....

cheers--Sharon

I am 27 years old now. As soon as I turned 18, I had a breast enlargement and lip implants. I love my new boobs except the doctor refushed to give me as big as I wanted. I regret the lip implants and wish I had gotten injections instead. I''ve had microbrasion (couldn''t tell a difference). I got botox injections once when I was 24 - couldn''t tell a difference. I''ve had a couple of red spots on my face lasered - it made them go away completely - not that painful either.

My friend just got liposuction on her stomach - and it looks great! I think plastic surgery is a great thing as long as one doesn''t go overboard. It can really make a difference in a woman''s life and give great self esteem.

I still want more stuff done, but my husband is totally against it. So, I guess my plastic surgery days are over.

Where I live, Los Angeles, the streets are filled with over poked, pulled, tightened women.

My mother and her friends ALL have small bits of work done - botox, mini-face lifts etc.

I see women who are barely 30 getting botox, and I think it actually ages them with their frozen features.

Would I get it? At this point, no way.
In the future? I do not know... maybe I''ll feel different and maybe technology will come out with something easy and natural.

But, walking around Los Angeles - I see MANY young women who are already getting ''work'' done and it''s obvious and unattractive. I wonder what they''ll do when they hit 40 and have already been doing botox for 15 years... A couple of my friends have horrible boob jobs, where their nipples look misplaced. Personally, I''d rather have my boobs less perky and natural rather than getting a set of frankenboobs.

I am not against surgery - If it makes you feel great, more power to you! Maybe after I have kids I''ll consider getting my chest enhanced. ;-)

LOL. That is too funny. You know what they say about people who brag about their "goods"............

My doctor must have been a great doctor. Mine look perfect, and I have had them for almost ten years. A girl at work had a bad job, though. It''s all the doctor and what they have to work with.

I havent had any surgical cosmetic surgery...they'd have to replace my whole head to make me pretty! LOL

But I had a TCA (pretty deep) skin peel in 1999 to diminish the appearance of acne scars and this year I have had a few sessions of glycolic peels and microdermabrasion. I would have kept it up but needed to save money for my wedding.

I would LOVE to have a nose job. Its the part of my face I have hated for years and years (my sisters used to joke that it took several years for my face to grow into my nose...

) I don't have any wrinkles (yet) but when I do I won't object to botox. I'd also like to have a few red spots on my face lasered in the future.

I would also love to pick the "girls" up and put them back where nature intended them to be, but I plan to have kids so if I had it done now they'd probably fall back down again. I already told FI that at our 10 year anniversary he's getting me a 3 carat RB and a boob lift
